Page based units missing?!.. very annoying.
While working in Illustrator in multiple type of units (px for web, cm/mm for print), its very annoying to switch is back all the time, by open the pref. or the into Document setup.
Units suppose to be saved in the file (maybe they are) and when you open it, the unit should be activated.
Seems to me its very simple, i hope Adobe Illustrator dev, team will think the same

I agree. Unit properties should be associated with the document, rather than the application. This would go with the Grid as well. The document should always set the dimensions and the Grid size.

What you say works for me on Windows but not on mac. On windows, firefox plays h.264 encoded html5 videos using system's inbuilt decoders. But same does not seem to be true for mac?
More details:
- Tried this on mac 10.7.4 and 10.8.4, firefox version: 22
- Both give a warning message in error console: "Content-type" of "video/mp4" is not supported.
- Exactly same content type works on FF on Windows

How can I stop the little pictures (icons??) and the firefox ball from bouncing all around the middle of the start page, which is my home page (?) It's VERY ANNOYING and DISTRACTING!
If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the <b>browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl</b> pref to an empty string on the <b>about:config</b> page.
Delete the <b>storage\moz-safe-about+home</b> folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets. -
i'm using firefox 4.0 on an amd cpu running suse linux 11.4. i've completely turned off the gestures in suse (one of the first things i do, i can move a mouse very quickly and i like it to be a mouse!), i can't find a plugin or setting to turn these damn things off. the main problem is when i use the scroll wheel to rapidly move up or down a long web page and wind up on another page suddenly, very, very annoying! i really, really HATE gestures! then again i know how to use buttons etc. and i do mouse very quickly and creatively ( i also turn off several other "conveniances" like automatic window resizing, i know how to manage windows.....) thanks, i really, really hate these "features" being on by default, people with certain disabilites are probably also highly annoyed by the lack of choice in some procucts.

Whenever I try to type "anything anywhere", even after I have clicked on the appropriate place to search, a search box appears on the bottom of the page with a "find" option, and my search goes there instead of the actual place it should go to. Every time I have to X out of that box; and next time I search for something same problem happens.

There is an ad at the bottom of my home page that is very annoying. I have tried everything to delete it but it won't go away. I can only assume that it is one of your sponsors. The ad keeps saying I am a winner and just answer a question. I am very upset that I am imposed on in this way every time I sign in. Please eliminate this from your home page as I am getting to the point of deleting firefos.
The easiest way is to use the Status-4-Evar add-on. With it you can choose to not display any of the status messages, or display them in the add-ons bar or location bar instead.

It is very annoying when I am at a favourite web site and Firefox will not automatically redirect to another page. It is so continuous and I have to "Allow" through the whole time I am at my favourite web sites.

Since I installed IOS 8.0.2 (was ok on IOS7),on my iPad 4 "photos" don't scroll properly, it freezes and staggers, it's really slow to scroll to the bottom of the page (in Album, Events From My IMac) it's very annoying!
I'm not sure, but I know it's not recommended to upgrade to iOS 8 on anything older than an iPhone 5. I only lost my music playlists and music that was on my phone, but that music is also on my iTunes, not the playlists though, and I don't want to go through ALL my iTunes library to fix it either... But it seems I don't have a choice right now.
Whatever you do, do NOT upgrade to iCloud Drive, keep iCloud till OS X Yosemite comes out, if your computer is a Mac. I also just noticed that all my documents on my phone are gone from Pages, BUT if I go on the iCloud website they are still there. Hopefully it will all work itself out when I can update my macbook pro to OS X Yosemite.
If you backed up your phone and all your purchases off your iPhone prior to trying to upgrade you should be fine... But I'm not even remotely sure. -
Very Annoying - Random Freezing Always occur
I ve purchased the high resolution powerbook G4 1.67 few months ago. I don't know why it always freezes, no matter i am doing the pages, or let it aside. It hangs and nothing i can do to reactivate it, except press the power button for several seconds to reboot it.
These days, i found the post on the discussions, talking about the processor nap. Actually, i find it works at all but it seems very annoying. If i forget to diable the nap, it will freeze later. So it is possible to repair it at all???Have you run the Apple hardware test, which tests the logic board? Insert your OS X disk, and reboot while holding the option key. Choose Apple hardware test and follow directions. If it finds an issue, jot down what it says, then return the unit for service to Apple.
Even if the hardware test does not show anything, but you can demonstrate where the system freezes, ie you can replicate the issue, still take it into service to Apple. -
Since the latest auto update of my firefox browser I am experiencing strange issues. Every evening when I stop working, I close my browser (closing all the tabs that I am working on and in the morning, I restore the session) . For many years everything worked just fine ... untill after the last auto update of the firefox browser .. all of a sudden a got 302 errors ( a blank page with the description 302 and I believe "page moved here" or something to that extend ... i try to click the link and get nowhere.
I first noticed it on a few wordpress pages (backend ) that I was working on and which were restored from the previous day ...
thinking it was a server error, since we have several vps and dedicated servers .. i contacted the company who hosts our servers ..
they looked into it and apparently .. there were no issues on the server side and neither on that particular computer ... but our server hosts told us .. that it is probably browser related and seemed to have something to with a bug with the cache of the browser
we didn't know what to do .. it was very annoying .. but at that point it only happened once on a hew pages .. so we decided to see what happened the next time
Next time we did not restore a session with wordpress pages .. but with the google search engine open and on a few other tabs logged into social media .... and as was saidn by our server hosts it was indeed not related to work that we did on pages on our servers ... since that time even the google search engine homepage ... showed us ... moved here
Can you pease look into it and fix this .. we are doing the same thing as many years on the same computer also a few years .. so it is not anything we do wrong either .. it is most definitely browser related
so can you please fix it asap .. since when we work on wordpress .. that is not the only thing that goes wrong .. we also have difficulty uploading updates ... when updating sometimes after the update of any particular change on a wordpress page is done ... we are also redirected to a blank page .. so the updated page does not want to load ... in that case we have use our back button ...
which sends us back to the right page ... but with the old data on it ... then we have to refresh that page .. and only then we see the page updated ... so it seems that there is an issue in both direction with the caching of the browser after the last update

Robertuninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I don't know the years most of my contacts were born, so I keep getting a default year 2000 birthdate.
How can I turn off the age (xxth birthday) in Birthday Calendar - it really is very annoying!?

The status bar appears at the bottom corner of the page, covering up ongoing info at the bottom of my pogo game page. If I hover the cursor over top of it, it moves to the other bottom corner....very annoying to have it pop up like that.

Firefox 4.01 keeps dimming the screen after a few seconds
unless you keep moving the mouse. This is very annoying.
It doesn't do it on Explorer or while in Windows.
It is only happening since I upgraded to 4.01

sice i have FULL HD screen i have to use page zoom. But check the above page, the photo popups as well are applied zoom. Very annoying and when zoomed out popup, the website as well zooms out.
Firefox stores the page zoom per domain, fine but how about photo pop ups?

Sorry - IMHO, Firefox is loading that image (PHP page) as instructed, the fault doesn't appear to me to be a fault with Firefox.
Why not wait a few hours for some more opinions about this issue. There are a couple of other support helper's on this forum who have vastly more experience with this "web stuff" than I have.
One "dirty" fix for that which I can share is to use a bookmarklet to make the image smaller on the screen, once the "page" is fully loaded. Simply click the bookmarklet to "halve" the image.<br />

That will help you get around changing the zoom factor for the whole domain every time you view an image on that website.
