Page border in a smartform

Hi Experts,
How can i have a page border in my smartform.
If i am taking a window for page border, but if i place a main window with a table having data than after seeing print preview the border does not appers properly.
Please help.

Hi,
Try defining a template with a fixed size probably same size as main window size and provide borders all the sides for the template. Display all the data u need under the template, this way you can achieve the page border

Hi Janet,
I suppose that you are asking how to include a decorative border of your design into a pages document. How you design that border is rather out of the range of these discussions. So, let's say that you have a graphic that approximates a picture frame and has the required dimensions to frame your content.
If you want to have the graphic appear on every page, Drag or Insert > Choose, to incorporate your design in to the document. The position it as you want it, and then Arrange > Send to Background and Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.
If there is more than one section in your document, there may be more considerations, but if you do this at the outset in the creation of your document, the design of the first section will flow to subsequent sections.

How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border?

How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border? (2 pages per sheet preferred)
I usually print pdfs of books at a copy shop and they turn out fine.
The problem comes when I try to print the same books at home.
I use Adobe Acrobat X with the same settings: "multiple pages per sheet" (2x1) and page border. But the pages are slightly shrunken when printed. I think this is because my printer can't print as closely to the margins. Still, two pages should be able to fit on one sheet in actual size. Are there any layout settings that I can play with to find a better fit, besides portrait and landscape?
If I select page scaling "none," I'm able to print the pdf in actual size, one page per sheet. But there's no option to add a page border.

I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
"if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
"if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting
My results page is the default. I didn't use any variable. When i go to the results page after reviewing the test all the entry boxes are "wrong".

Total in page 1 incorrect = line1(page1) + line2(page1) + line3(page1) + line1 (in page2)
Total in page 2 inccorrect = line2 (in page2) .

r u printing the internal table data using the TABLE node then--> in the Calculation tab u can do this.
first create a variable in Global difinations-->global data tab.(ex v_tot)
then in the TABLE>calculations TAB> 1select ->sum then 2nd colun>give the field name which u want to calculate (ex-wa_itab-netwr) in the Target Filedname tab> give the varialbe u have declared for the total(ex v_tot). in TIME colums select AFTER theLOOP...
then in theTABLE>footer>inset a line display the variable(total u r using).here
after the the printing the total..->create a program lines> cleat the v_tot... why u need to clear this is.... u want to display only the total value which are displaying in the current page... after printing this v_tot... clear this... so that in the next page it start totaling the freshly...

u can calculate as the above way for all the 6 fields.

Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border. Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

Different page formats in single Smartform

Hello Experts,
I have an requirement in my custom Smartforms. I want my first page as by default DINA4 page in where as from second onwards, I want DINA3 page format. Could it be possible? If yes, how I can achieve this? Thanks in advance.

You can't give two page format in one smartform
The page format are declared in form attributes it will be same for all pages
one thing you can do is change it to landscape or potrait.

How to display 'page border' in PDF output file - RTF file contains border

I have a simple RTF file which has 2 fields
The RTF file has image and page border. When I preview as a PDF file (through BI publisher desktop), I can see image and fields merged properly. But I don't see the page border
Does anybody know why it's not disaplying page border?
Any help is much appriciated

Looks like it is a bug and I am not sure if this has been fixed in the latest patches..

I need a little help with my .RTF template to populate page border. This topic is limited but I researched Thread: How to display 'page border' in PDF output file - RTF file contains border - which directs you to another Thread. I was not successful with the Table Border, it does not list the Page Border Art that my end-users currently are using in their Certificate template. I need help to populate this Page Border, has anyone done this before? I do not mind emailing my .RTF template and/or my .xml data also. Thanks for reading this Thead also.

Ive come across situations too where complex page borders from MS word refuse to render correctly (or at all). One way to get around this is to use pre-printed stationery, particularly, in a case like yours where perhaps lots of certificates are used,with the same layout. preprinted stationery can be used, it will even cost less, as simple Black and white laser printer can do the rest rather than pay for blue and other colors toner.
I have set the RTF to render the output as desired, I have saved the page border you want as an image, and placed it as a background image, crude workaround, but it works, check out the pdf file i sent you :-)

Add page border/keyline using Acrobat 8?

Hello,
Does anyone know if there's a way to add a keyline or page border to a PDF document? I have about 100 PDFs I've created for a client and now they've come back asking to have keylines added to every page in every PDF.
Other than manually adding keylines to all these documents and then creating new PDFs, I'm unsure of if I have any other solutions?
I'm using (unfortunately) QuarkXPress 6.5 (ugh, client required it) as well as Acrobat Pro 8 & Pitstop Pro (within Acrobat 8 ).

couldn't you make any Background created at 1% opacity? that way you couldn't see the background for all intents and purposes.
[although I've found adding a background then flattening the transparency created (I have to use on a file I use on a website to prevent Google from picking up email addresses) increases the file size from 300K to 6.5 MB.]

Assuming you are using Pages 5, you haven't said:
1. Select multiple paragraphs > Text > Layout > Borders & Rules > choose a line > select a thickness > select the 4th Positon (all around) > Offset
or
2. Inseert a rectangular shape > Resize to suit > Format > Fill > No fill > Border > Line > select thickness/color > Arrange > Stay on Page > Text Wrap > None
If you want that on every page
Menu > Arrange > Section Masters > Move Object to Section Master
Pages will not be able to use fonts that are on your PC (I suppose?) if it doesn't have them. Obviously.
Just as your PC will not be able to use the Mac's fonts.

Murray solved my problem of having ONLY the outer table
border color show using css (many thanks!). But now the client
would like the page border to show only below the logo - OR to have
a black border on the top cell. They want the JCB letters to blend
