Page Break in PDF export

Hi all,
I have a developed a Web template for export to PDF file and I would like to know if there is a way to add page breaks so when I export my original WEB temp though the Export command to PDF I would be able to preak the pages where I want to.
Regards,
Theodore

Hi,
SAP standard Webtemplate Export does not support Pagebreaks.
Also CSS-Styles Atributes PAGE-BREAK-BEFORE: Always will not work because SAP is ingnoring custom HTML. Only way is to consider 3rd Party Tools which will export the HTML of the executed Webtemplate to PDF or other formats.
In Report Designer you will be able to include Page breaks on Group level changes of BI data.

  • Page breaks in PDF library

    Hi,
How can i provide a page break using PDF library? Whether Indesign CS4  does support page breaks for PDF generation. If the not the API, whether this is possible by creating a Indesign template with page breaks for the data to fit in? Also whether Adobe PDF supports page breaks? Please shed some light into this.
    Thanks,
    Rithu

I Just checked through a few old documents. It appears that numbers used to export PDF files with page breaks and the last update scrapped this in favour of redicusously large one page files.
Is it really that hard to give an option as to how to export a file?

  • XHTML code for a page break in PDF file exported from WAD

    Hi All
I'm new to WAD and I have created a web template with several tables and charts
I'm exporting these to a PDF document but I need to put page breaks in as I want to put a table and a chart on each page
I'm not sure how to do this and was wondering if adding it to the XHTML code direct would do the trick but as I don't know XHTML code I'm not sure.
    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks in advance

    Hi Cook,
In my project I had same requirment. But I didn't find any solution for this.
I tried to implement the same using XHTML and java script aslo. but these are the functionality which we are using for web page formating not the not the formating of external output like PDF and Excel.
So if you find any solution, then please share with me also.
    Thank You

  • How to create a page break in PDF output

    Hi there
Does anyone know how to create a page break in the PDF output when using the EXPORT TO PDF command?
I can create a page break using the page-break-after/before HTML stylesheet command, but this is not "interpreted" when the PDF is generated, and I am required to print each table in my web template on a new page.
Please ... been searching for ages for a solution to this and can't find anything.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Pages 5.2 PDF Exporting Issues

Ever since I upgraded to OS X and Pages 5.2, the system will no longer allow me to export a Pages doc to PDF into certain folders. I keep getting a message that says "The document "xyz name of doc" could not be exported as "xyz name of doc". I have tried changing the name of the document but that doesn't help. The only thing I have found that works is if I change the destination folder...and them after exporting it to PDF I am able to move it into the folder I originally wanted to put it in. I have tried cleaning up the original destination folder and removing old docs thinking it is a spacing limitation but that didn't help. Any one else having this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix this?
There is also now a limit to the # of characters that I can save the document as in certain folders. But again this only applies to certain folders so this sounds like something I should be able to change the parameters but I cannot find where to do that. Any suggestions?

Actually I can still save it as PDF, without converting to Pages '09. It just won't let me save it in the folder I want to save it in...which is a subfolder. But if I save it in the main "Documents" folder, that works just fine. Then it will allow me to move it to the folder I originally wanted it in the first place.
The issue is this wastes time AND I've been getting error messages stating the filename cannot be longer than 31 characters even when it is not at or over 31 characters. So this leads me to believe that there is a problem w/ the updated version of Pages NOT my computer.

  • Pages 5.0: PDF export broken

I removed v5 from my wifes machine. She has been producing catalogs for her business for a number of years now using Pages. With v5 the reduction in size of when exporting to PDF is only marginal - we are left with files that are much too large.
Switching back to v4 solved the problem. I also left this feedback at apple.com.

I tried Dropbox, but when I update the PDF in my dropbox public folder, even though the file has the exact same name, it changes the link. That's what I want to avoid.  For now I'm saving the Pages file as PDF to my desktop, opening my FTP program and overwriting the old file in the directly.  That's many steps and a hassle.  I'm having to update the file a few times a day the last week and I wish there were a way that I could just publish it from Pages directly to some public site and the link not change when changes are made.

  • Acrobat DC upgrade breaks CS6 PDF export?

Installed Acrobat DC and now my CS6 PDF export function is greyed out. Happens with old and new files. CC 2014 works fine. CS6 has been working fine yesterday up until the point I installed Acrobat DC. Anyone else have this issue? I still have clients who insist on CS6 so this is sort of a pain.
Working on a new Mac Pro.
I asked this over on the Acrobat forum but they said the two issues should not be involved.

There's nothing that an Acrobat installation could do that would affect InDesign functions.
@Steve – I have seen one case where a not finished (stuck) installation process of Acrobat Pro CS6 on Windows removed all default PDF export joboptions files for InDesign CS6 as well. However, something more drastic like a grayed out export function in InDesign CS6 seems not to be realistic.
I'm glad it was false alarm.

  • SSRS 2008 R2 - Column Headers of a tablix visible while scrolling - Then the column headers not visible on 2nd page onwards for PDF EXPORT. it's vice versa. Hence it is possible to provide both at same time ?

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
I have two TABLIX in a report.  One is TABLIX with row/clumn grouping. 2nd one is flat view.
Here each tablix is dispaly it's data on single page for each.
My Requirement on First TABLIX is:
         1. I have to make column headers visible on scrolling down
         2. Export to PDF - column headers must be visible on all the pdf pages  for same tablix data.
But ... either one is achieved at my end.
so ... any suggestions please to achieve both at same time.
    thank you in advance.
    best regards,
    venkat.

    Hi G.V.Naidu,
According to your description, the first tablix is matrix to use display data.
In SSRS, if we want to fix matrix header visible while scrolling and repeat header columns on each page, we can select the corresponding option to enable this function. Please refer to the steps below:
    1. Right click tablix, and select Tablix Properties.
    2. Select “Keep header visible while scrolling” and “Repeat header rows on each page” to enable these function.
If we are use table to display data, please refer to the article about Repeat Header / Keep Header Visible in Tables.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertbruckner/archive/2008/10/13/repeat-header-and-visible-fixed-header-table.aspx
If there are any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.

  • Preventing page breaks in PDF on converted web pages

I've been happy with the speed and linking that is available when I convert web pages into pdf's. However, the pdf versions often break the pages at inappropriate places or even will break an image so that part appears on one page and the rest appears on the following page. How can I can control where the pages will break in the pdf version of the web page?

Mike is correct in the breaking stakes but you can change the
destination paper size, orientation and scaling inside the 'Create PDF
    from Web Site' settings ...

  • Wrong page numbers on PDF export (ID CS5.5)

The Export to PDF out of a book document (with 12 single documents in it) results in wrong pagination (30, 31, 33, 31, 35, 31 ...). Direct Export out of the same single document is right. I cannot see any difference between the single docs, but the phenomen is only in some parts of the book.
What is the thing about this? Did anybody have similar effects?
    Thanks for any idea!

InDesign CS 5.5 (Design Premium Collection)

I had started to look at this over the weekend (thanks, Sarah, for sending along the files), and didn't get a chance to come back to it.
Looking at it now, there are several interesting things.
I think the first is that if I use Sarah's book file, I see the problem. But if I create my own book file from the constitutent documents, I do not see the problem.
Tentative conclusion is that this is an issue with the book file, not with the documents.
The next observation is that the two book files, Sarah's and Mine, are not very different. At least by some metrics. While in a literal sense, 10195/69632 bytes do differ (15%), if I look at ASCII text, the story is a bit different. Running the "strings" command on both of them to extract the alphanumeric-looking stuff in the files, and then diffing them, there are only 8 differences (technically 8 "hunks" as reported by diff). They are:
    1. "FgPM" at the beginning instead of "FgPM" in mine.
    2. com.apple.print.PageFormat.PMAdjustedPageRect is a real number 0.0 in Sarah's, and an integer 0 in mine.
    3. com.apple.print.ticket.stateFlag's <inteer>0</integer> has a linebreak across it (or something) in mine
    4. com.apple.print.PaperInfo.PMUnadjustedPageRect< is a real number 0.0 in Sarah's and an integer 0 in mine.
    5. com.apple.print.PrintSettings.PMColorSyncProfileID is 1294 for Sarah and 1580 for me.
    6. another linebreak issue with a second rference to com.apple.print.ticket.stateFlag.
    7.  My default printer name and the fact that its an HP Laserjet 8150 is substitued for Sarah's C280 and the fact that it is or has a Fiery E10 50-45C-KM PS Color Server1.1 along
    8. The pathname to the constituent files within the book is different, and mine does not have a reference to Process Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black that Sarah's does.
    That's it.
Not totally sure what to make of it, really. I suppose I would suggest trying to change your default printer before File > New Book and see if you can find a way to make that matter...

  • Page Break when converting to PDF

I have created my forms online and deleted a bit of content to reduce their size.  I also adjusted the page breaks in pdf/print view mode.  When I download the PDF, I find excess blank pages in the PDF and the page breaks I set are not where I put them.  Any thoughts on how I can fix this without having to rebuild the online survey from scratch?

    Hi,
It would be easier to help resolve this issue if I had access to your form design. You can share it with me in one of two ways:
    1. Add me ([email protected]) as a collaborator. To do this follow steps 1 and 2 described in the following FAQ:
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1424
    2. Export the form and email the design template (.fcdt file) to me - [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Page Break - Not Exporting to PDF Correctly (with Page View)

I am struggling maintaining page breaks upon export of the Form to a PDF even though the Form is set as "Page View". Is there a way to correct this either on the FormsCentral side or acrobat side.  It is extremely frustrating not to have page breaks where designed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Adrian

Have you checked the Window>Utilities>Background Tasks
CS5 now exports PDFs in the Background and thus you will have a 0kb file until the task completes.
If the Background Task isn't moving then make sure you're fully up-to-date with the software using Help>Updates
If you're still having a problem then try inserting the indesign file into a Book file - and then use the Book Panel sub menu to Export Book to PDF.
This does not use the Background Task and might output the PDF for you.

  • How can I control unwanted page breaks in exported .pdf files?

I am building a form that, for a variety of reasons, must be available offline.  Unfortunately, the .pdf export is introducing a page break on the 3rd page that leaves 80% of the page empty.  The next element after the page break is a small text field which would easily fit on the preceding page.  I have _not_ put any page breaks into this document, so the editor is following its default behavior regarding page breaks.  Is there any way to tell the editor not to break at a given spot?
Also, in terms of a more general feature request, it would be very nice if there was a more intelligent method of handling pagination.  I understand why (in a separate spot on the same form) the editor is pushing a large form element to the next page (since it won't fit on the previous one), but I would much rather have the option of splitting a large rating scale instrument so that the first half fills one page and the final half (with headings repeated) begins the second page.  All of this empty space just looks tacky, and I can't imagine anyone actually wanting the default behavior if it would leave more than a few lines of empty space at the bottom of a page.
    Best,
    David
P.S. Sorry for the jumbled username; the first 20 or so I tried were taken.

Well, I downloaded the trial of Acrobat XI to see if I could fix this, and lo and behold it allowed me to define the .pdf page breaks exactly as I desired!  The "secret" was to switch to page view from the view menu.  It also works in the online version of FormsCentral.

  • How to export pdf from numbers with page breaks

I am trying to export a pdf from numbers that contains page breaks.  When i print the page breaks are created for printing automatically and i like scrolling with no page breaks while working on spreadsheet.  But, if export pdf the file becomes one long scrolling page.  Which is good on screen but when email recipient tries to print, it prints to a single page and type face is impossibly tiny to read.  I would like to export a view in which page breaks are included but can not seam to find the process (i have recently switched  from excel to numbers).

One thing you might try (if you haven't already) is to pretend you are printing your numbers document, but after you press the "Print..." button (perhaps after doing the "Print setup" thing) do "Save as PDF" instead of just printing it.  Presumably, this gives you the PDF that is used to do the print job.

  • PDF Export with fixed column widths ignores page break on Analysis item

    Hi experts,
we use the column width modification to define fixed column width in a analysis item. On the same Web template we want to export the whole template including the analysis item to PDF format. First of all everything worked properly, but the fixed widths have not been applied to the PDF. According to [SAP Support Note 1336188|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1336188] and additional explainations from [SDN Thread 1558536|Column Width Modification not working in Print Version; we solved the problem.
Unfortunately another problem arises. Our Analysis item delivers a big number of rows which extent multiple pages. By applying the export fix width parameter all page breaks are ignored, meaning that the analysis item is never shown completely in the PDF. We tried all parameter options of the Export Function without success. It seems that the EXPORT_FIX_WIDTH is just working for analysis items, which fit on one single page by length.
Any ideas how to solve this?
