Page Color Faded In CS4

When I am in live view everything looks right, but when I am
in editing mode the page color I'm working is quite faded. Why is
that?

#d6c5a1 is not a web-safe color.
It sounds like something else is happening. We'd need to see
the OP's test
page.

  • Color mismatch between CS4 and Canon PIXMA PRO6500

    Hi there! I am trying to research if anyone else is having a problem with color mismatch between CS4 and their printer. Last night I printed a .tiff image out of CS4 to my Canon PRO6500 printer and the sky came out purple / pink! It was supposed to be a stormy grey color. I have the color management turned off on the printer settings. I have CS4 manages color turned on and the correct ICC profile selected for the paper I am using. When I do a soft proof in CS4 the image looks fine, but when I print I get something completely different, mostly with the sky (purple / pink) color! Just for the heck of it I did a Print Preview under my Page Setup and guess what, the sky actually shows purple / pink! So I have no idea what's going on. I checked all my setting, ink cartridges, tried different paper with the appropriate ICC profile and no dice. Still have a goofy looking sky! I thought PROOFING the image is supposed to show you how the printed image is going to look? apparently it doesn't because it's not. The Print Preview has an accurate representation of the print but I have no idea where the pink / purple sky is coming from. They are supposed to be stormy clouds as I said. I appreciate any help anyone can provide .

    I have the color management turned off on the printer settings.
    But do you have a measured color profile based on a sample print? Most likely not, so this is not doing anything in your favor. The current profile may present the defaults for a given printer, but not the actual density based on your other printer settings. So by all means, unless you can be sure to obey a full calibration throughout, turn on the printer CM. Also, since it is a Pro model, you may actualyl have to use the dedicated RIP software that was bundled with it to get correct results, not the default windows print engine.

  • How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.

    How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.  Or, covert the color to B&W in a new doc?

    > How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.  Or, covert the color to B&W in a new doc?
    The general idea is that you colour correct photographs once, archive, and convert with or without colour changes. The archived photograph is unchanged - or we would be colour correcting the same photographs again and again and again.
    If you have a photograph with a corrected exposure, you can open the photograph in the Apple ColorSync Utility, apply a colour space conversion to a grayscale appearance using the preinstalled ICC profile, save the photograph under another name, and place that in your pagination.
    If you have a paginated document with corrected exposures, and any such non-scalable bitmap or scalable spline graphics as you have chosen to add, you can render the pagination as a whole to PDF through the same ICC profile, carrying out the same colour space conversion on any and all objects.
    Caveat: If you intend the pagination for certain processes, in particular offset lithography, then you are probably  expected not to render the type to grayscale, but rather to render it to single ink solid black. No software can determine what printing process you intend, you have to understand a bit about printing, and how to set up general colour space conversions in software. Ask your prepress provider, and if the answer is not prompt and proficient, pick another provider.

  • Creating spot color in Illustrator CS4 js

    Hi,
    I need to create spot color in Illustrator CS4 with js, with assigned name and color values. Here what I have:
    myColor = myDoc.spots.add({name:"FOIL", colorValue:[10, 0, 100, 0]});
    But it comes out as process instead of spot and the color is not assigned.
    Thank you for your help.
    Yulia

    the add function has no parameters, you have to add them after
    addSpot ('FOIL', 10, 0, 100, 0);
    function addSpot(name, c, m, y, k) {
        try {
            swatch = app.activeDocument.swatches[name]; // if swatch exists....
            addSpot (name+='1', c, m, y, k); // ...add 1 to swatch name
        catch (e) {
            var newSpot = app.activeDocument.spots.add();
            newSpot.name = name;
            var newColor = new CMYKColor();
            newColor.cyan = c;
            newColor.magenta = m;
            newColor.yellow = y;
            newColor.black = k;
            newSpot.colorType = ColorModel.SPOT;
            newSpot.color = newColor;
            var newSpotColor = new SpotColor();
            newSpotColor.spot = newSpot;

  • How can I quickly toggle page colors if I update from 36.0.4?

    In 36.0.4, I use an add-on that's on my toolbar to toggle page colors between the page colors and my personal default colors. This is something I do very frequently. When I updated to version 37.0.1 or 2, I can't use this anymore and can't find an add-on that works. This is important enough to me to stay with 36.0.4.

    The pref that controls this setting used to be a Boolean, but is now an Integer as you can see in Options/Preferences.
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors
    *browser.display.document_color_use<br />Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above:<br />0:Only with High Contrast themes; 1:Never; 2:Always
    *browser.display.use_system_colors
    Extensions would need an update to continue to work.
    You could look at the PrefBar extension and create a button to toggle document colors.

  • Thumbnails disappeared in Pages panel in InDesign CS4

    The thumbnails that show the page spreads and the master pages have disappeared in the Pages panel of ID CS4 (on Windows XP SP3). I can't figure out (a) what caused them to disappear or, more importantly, (b) how to get them back. In the Panel Options, I have Show Thumbnails checked for both Pages and Masters, and all 3 of the Icons options checked. Any suggestions on how to get them back would be appreciated.

    In followup, I tried to reinstalling ID4 -- a painful process. That didn't solve the problem. So I tried unchecking display thumbnails vertically. That worked in that the thumbnails for both masters and pages displayed correctly horizontally. I then rechecked display vertically and they disappeared again.

    How much data is being backed-up from each Mac?  (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
    Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
    Most likely, there just isn't room.  Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't.  Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

  • How to change the page color from white to gray in Indesign?

    While working on a document, the white pages (not pasteboard) appears too much bright to eyes. Is there any way to change the pages color from white to medium gray at display level only i.e. that gray should not appear while printing the document pages?
    Thanks,

    You haven't told us what version of InDesign or what operating system.
    If you have InDesign CC, you can change the color of the panels (Preferences > Interface). If you turn on Match Pasteboard Color in the same preference, you can make the pasteboard darker.
    However, to change the color of the page, you need to change your monitor brightness. On a Mac, that would be System Preferences > Displays and drag the brightness slider to the left.

  • Colors Faded on Web From Illustrator

    I hope you can help. The graphics I make in Illustrator C3 look clear and great on my monitor, but when uploaded to the web, they are faded by maybe 20%. I'm on a Mac OS 10.4 powerbook laptop and am not an expert with monitor calibration. All I know is that it looks great on my monitor when I'm looking at it in Illustrator, and is faded on the web. Even when I use color safe web colors - faded. Although unrelated, when I design something to be printed digitally (with no PMS ability for digital printing), the colors are consistent with what I see on my monitor, thank goodness.
    I have tried exporting to a bmp and saving from Photoshop C3, but that maybe corrects it a bit. Still not fully sharp and definitely faded. When I save as a svg, and give to my programmer who uses Linux, he can save the file perfectly on some program he has. Also, when I save as a gif, there is a white line around the image. Not the case when it's a svg for my programmer. My Photoshop won't open a svg. I don't know about my color settings, and suspect that they are the problem. If anyone can help...thanks!!

    If you're not having you images printed professionally in publications why are you editing in CMYK.  Displays and inkjet devices are RGB devices CMYK images need be converted when used on these devices. If in every step color management is used  and all devices calibrated well  colors should be quit consistent however color management is not always used and colors will be off  when color management is not done.  Photoshop is color managed is photoshop the only software you're using for your images. No Image viewers, no browsers, no document application etc.
    Also when I save the above image you state is a jpeg Its save as an png file with some Display color profile.  You need yo look into color management and what you useing as your color setting in Photoshop and hd.ow progile mismatches are handle.
    In fact all three image are png file Color mode is RGB 8bit  all have a display color profile all are different in sizes and at least one has different content. All are different yet you claim they are the same.

  • Where are the STARTER PAGE samples in Dreamweaver CS4?

    Hi, I can't find the STARTER PAGE samples in DW CS4. Where
    they are?
    The starter page samples are VERY IMPORTANT!!

    Dreamweaver is supposed to by a WYSIWYG type program...
    You've been misinformed.  DW has never been a WYSIWYG program.
    The starter pages in CS3 were sorely out of date and inferior by today's standards.  Adobe took them out of CS5 until better ones could be created.  You'll find plenty of starter page resources below:

  • Page expires option in CS4

    HI
    I have CS3 and i created a connection for someone to use CS4 on the same site. I was at their office yesterday creating a new page with CS4 and one of the options on the save box was Page Expires on - but it was grayed out and wouldn't let me edit. Is this for website use or blog use? can some explain the Page expires function in CS4. Thank you.

    HI
    I see i forgot an important part of the problem. I am administering the site in CS3 - my client has CS4. I don't believe CS3 has the page expiry option in administrative settings - i am not seeing it if it does.
    Would administering a site in CS3 for a CS4 user create any problems? If I am not able to enable or disable the page expiry settings - would it just stand as disabled and not affect any of the new pages created on the site with CS4?
    Thank you for your help!!

  • Background page color in Pages

    Is it possible to change de default "white" page color in Pages in word processing mode?

    Great, that answers my question.
    I'm not too impressed by the complexity of the procedure (compared to word for example), but it works.

  • Nokia 6233 Silver Color Fading

    Hi Nokia and members,
    I would like to seek some assistance and advice in regards to my "Stainless Steel" color fading away over the past few months, and this is only occurring to the back of my phone which seems plastic-like compared to the front.
    My phone remains in my pocket most of the time. Everything is still new with really really minor scratches because I treat my phones very well. My last phone was the SGH-E800 which is still working and only with 1 or 2 scratches on it. To have colors fading away is just .... BAD!
    Can anyone help me?
    Should I:
    1) Call up and inquire about it
    I'm not the calling up type but I would do it if i need to
    2) Get Warranty claimed
    If this is possible that is
    3) Bring it back to where I got and ask if they can help
    But I doubt they could/would...
    4) Any other suggestions and advice, Thank you
    Attski
    PS: New to Nokia Discussion Board
    Hello Nokia Lovers and Fans! Woo.......Ye.......LoL

    Its acceptable to accept fair wear and tear dependant on the age of the fone, so you have to expect some sort of asthetical decline.
    However if the fone is somewhat new and you are experiancing this ,then I agree with the previous advice, which is to submit the handset to your local NSC for it to be examined.
    Even keeping it in your pocket and treating it carefully you will still see wear and tear from simply handling it to take calls or text out.
    Cases will slow down this but also tend to make the fone look a little ugly sometimes.
    You will probably find that if the replacemnent is upheld then it will be of the same colour as originally purchased, unless you offer to pay a fee to change it.
