Page fault it jit.dll

Has anyone seen this:
With ie4 on win95 i get an illegal page fault in the JIT.dll . With ie 4 ot 5 running on winnt, the browser just closes without a message. It works find with ie5 on win98 or win95. I have narrowed it down to this statement causing the fault:
conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@myip:1521:nsw1","username","password");
I have am using the latest version of oracle drivers.
Any input would be great.
Thanks

If Javaw is causing the page fault, that's very much a bug in native code (i.e. Windows-only stuff) within the VM.
Search through the bug database on this site, and you'll more than likely find a corresponding bug report for this if it's been around a while and is fairly easy to produce. If you can't find it, submit it - I'm sure the Sun guys would be concerned to hear that Javaw is crashing and burning.
Hope that helps!

  • Invalid Page fault in IMM32.dll on Japanese Win 98

    Hi
First of all, let me say that I'm new to internationalization fundamentals.
My Java application uses i18n.jar for internationalization support(primarily Japanese) and everything seems to be fine on all OSes(Win2k,NT,98,Solaris etc), except that in particular menu options in Japanese version of Win98(m/c has MS-IME 98 running), a Windows fatal error pops up saying "Javaw caused a invalid page fault in module IMM32.dll". IMM32.dll, I understand, is the dll required for i18n support in Windows.
This error comes up if we exit immediately after launching application or when trying to launch new windows for charts etc.
Could you please suggest a workaround or a fix to this issue? What could be the root cause of the problem, I mean, does i18n.jar use the IMM32.dll, or is it just a conflict? Have there been other such cases?
Thanks for all your advice in advance
    Regards
    Santosh

  • Failed client instal (orainst | msvcrt.dll) page fault

I am trying to uninstall the oracle client (all componenets) from a Windows 95 machine and while trying to unistall the process causes an illegal operation and then bombs out. I try to reinstall over the existing installation and I get the same thing "illegal operation". Oraninst.exe is causing a page fault in msvcrt.dll. This is a predictable reproducable problem that occurs everytime I run the installation or try to run the unistallation. I read a microsoft technet document about this problem and updated the C runtime library "msvcrt.dll" to the lates version and continue to get the same error. Anyone else ever see this error. I would imagine it would be quite common?

  • Invalid page fault in module cvirte.dll

I have updated two old programs using LabWindows 7.0 which were perviously created with an earlier version of LabWindows. I am having problems though updating a third program. I get an error stating...
Characerization (the name of the program) caused an invalid page fault in the module cvirte.dll at 0167:684b77f5.
The operating system that I am installing these program on is Windows 95.
I'm not sure where this error is coming from but I'm assuming there might be a problem when I build with LabWindows 7.0 and install to Windows 95. But, the previous two programs updated before this one have had no problems at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    JuanCarlos,
Thanks for you help. Since I have been getting this error, we did some system monitoring and noticed that when the system crashes, the CPU is running at 100%. It also crashes during debug mode as well. I have been putting in break points to specifically find a location. What we have come down to is that its writes the test information to a file, but crashes when the file is recalled within the program to process some results. As far as GPIB drivers, everything is correctly installed and since we are using old ISA slots, I have made sure there are no IRQ conflicts.
The funny thing is...this exact program works perfectly fine on another station but crashes on this current station! We need both fully functional though.
    Is there a
nything I should look for specifically to tell if its a GPIB problem? Anything specific for CVI problems?
    Thanks for you help!

    Hello Ivan ,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding problems closing MAX 2.2. It sounds like MAX crashes causing an invalid page fault in module PDM.DLL. This problem can happen when Microsoft Visual Studio is installed. The following link is a great resource when dealing with this issue.

What command did you use to launch the program?
The readme file explains how to set the path and classpath; if you've done that, try this command in a DOS window:
    java -version
    C:\>java -version
    java version "1.4.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b92)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0_01-b03, mixed mode)

The program is a db application, i manage to save a few records (exactly 3 records) before that message appears. The program doesn't throw exceptions but that illegal operation box appears.
And can someone tell me what to do?
    Mary.

Can you post the code and the kind of data you are using? That can help in diagnosing the problem.
You say that the program can insert 3 records. That means that the program is semantically and syntactically correct.
Also, if such error occurs, its a good idea to run the application with different sets of data and determine whether same error occurs for those different sets of data. There can be some problem in the type of data that your application is trying to insert.
