Page-flip book on iWeb?

I am designing my own website using iWeb and I have been having problems finding a page-flip book that is iWeb compatible. If anyone knows of a page-flip program that I can use with iWeb, would you please let me know? This issue has been brought up on these forums before and I wonder what kind of success people have had. Also, if you would include a link where a page-flip book is currently being used on an iWeb designed website, that would be great. So far I haven't seen any. Thanks.

^^^ Thank you, Old Toad, for referring me to DecoImaging. Because of your help, I was able to use this program to make my own page-flip book and, with some effort, load it onto my iWeb page. Designing the book was the fairly easy part. The difficult part was that the html code that is generated in the program does not take to iWeb. A few changes needed to be made, namely the html code was changed to reflect the Flash files by adding "swf" to the code in iWeb. I could not figure this out myself and it took an html programmer to look at the code and make the changes. A note about DecoImaging too. It is a great program and it is the simplest, cleanest, and most realistic page-flip book I've seen. When you turn the pages, they don't turn too fast (like on many other books) and you can control how much curve too add in the middle of the book. No html knowlege is needed to make the book. Unfortunately, like most of these programs, there is no phone support. I must have sent dozens of emails to the only tech support person in the company. There is only one person to handle all email messages. If anyone decides to use DecoImaging to create your own flip-book, the onus is on you to be patient with the support you get from DecoImaging. In end, I got my page-flip book up on iWeb. This is what I was dreaming of all along. Here it is:

  • Url link in flash page flip book

    I am very inexperienced at what I am trying to accomplish.
    I have created a flip book in flash. On a page in the book I made a button that is a link to an external url. When I place the the swift file of that page on my webstie, the link works. I have made a link from my homepage to the flipbook. But when I open the flip book the url link does not work.
    Does anyone out there know what's wrong?
    thanks

    If the flip page the swf is in has interactive code asigned to it, such as whatever you use to flip the page, it could be blocking access to any clickable objects in the swf file.

  • PDF Page Flip Feature Request

    Flip books have become popular over the past years and I would like to see the ability to flip through pdf's with a page turn option.  This could be a view with a one page or two page layout.  This functionality would not have to have the robust rendering that a true Flash page flip book has but just an animated quick flip, much like you see on common book readers.  I know this is a small thing but it makes a big difference in perception when one is scrolling through a PDF verses reading through it like a book.  Is this feature a current consideration?
    Thank you,
    Brandon Buie

    +1 For that Feature Request . Everybody will be happy to see pdf contents in ''page flip" mode (except Adobe programmers).

  • How to get rid of blank white page next to cover page when converting an indesign file into a pdf flip book

    Hey Everyone,
    I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

    It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
    The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
    So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
    You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.

  • When I publish from ibooks author will the pages flip like my other books

    When I publish from ibooks author will the pages flip like my other books the preview only slides side to side

    Pages continue to slide rather than flip for the horizontal orientation.  In the vertical orientation, the text scrolls up-and-down like a web page (again as shown in iBooks Author if you change the previewed orientation).  I'm not sure why Apple went with the different GUI for their textbooks, but its the same for the ones authored by the big publishers.  If you want to see what the format is like on the iPad, there's a short free textbook (Wilson's Life on Earth) and sample chapters from others available from the iBookstore.
    On a side note, one interesting thing about using texts in the two different orientations is that the formating changes as well.  Figures that show up as larger embedded images in the horizontal layout are smaller images in the left margin in the vertical layout, at least in Wilson's book.

  • How to create flip book in InDesign so it starts with a single page

    The flip book out of InDesign is cool - but I have not been able to find a way to create it so that it starts with a single page, rather than a spread (with a blank white page opposite the cover).  Any help appreciated.

    Moving thread from Creative Cloud Forum to InDesign Forum.
    Hi there,
    Currently, there isn't a direct way to make the cover page a single page through InDesign. You'll need to 'fake' it by fill the left side (first page) of the spread the same color as the background of your web page.
    Petteri_Paananen has suggested an alternative workaround using eDocContainer. You can find more info here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2279180#2279180#2279180
    Hope this helps and feel free to let us know if you need more assistance

  • Flipping Book Component zoom in page question

    Hello,
    I have a flipping book component that works well. It has also a zoom button and function that also works but too well. It zooms too much.
    I would like to have it zoom in less, but I cant find out how to adjust the zoom percent.
    Can anyone help with this? Here is the "START ZOOM Function" code...
    // Zooming settings
    zooming = false;
    zoom_panel_mc.zoom_btn.onPress = startZoomingMode;
    myBook.onClick = bookClick;
    function startZoomingMode() {
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = false;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 0;
    showZoomPointer();
    zooming = true;
    function bookClick(pageNumber, page_mc, isCornerClick) {
    if (!zooming) {
    return;
    var page_url = page_mc.URL;
    if (page_url != undefined) {
    open_popup(page_url, pageNumber);
    } else {
    zooming = false;
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = true;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 50;
    hideZoomPointer();
    function open_popup(page_url, pageNumber) {
    if (zoom_win != undefined) {
    return;
    hideZoomPointer();
    zoom_win = mx.managers.PopUpManager.createPopUp(_root, Window, true, {title:"Page Number: " + pageNumber, closeButton:true});
    zoom_win.createObject("ScrollPane", "zoom_pane", 0, {contentPath:page_url, _x:3, _y:31});
    zoom_win.setSize(popup_width, popup_height);
    zoom_win.zoom_pane.setSize(popup_width-6, popup_height-31);
    listenerObject = new Object();
    listenerObject.click = closeWindow;
    zoom_win.addEventListener("click", listenerObject);
    zoom_win._x = Stage.width/2-popup_width/2;
    zoom_win._y = Stage.height/2-popup_height/2;
    function closeWindow(eventObject:Object) {
    zoom_win.deletePopUp();
    zooming = false;
    delete zoom_win;
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = true;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 50;
    function showZoomPointer() {
    Mouse.hide();
    attachMovie("ZoomIcon", "zoom_icon_mc", 0);
    zoom_icon_mc.onEnterFrame = function() {
    this._x = _xmouse;
    this._y = _ymouse;
    function hideZoomPointer() {
    Mouse.show();
    delete zoom_icon_mc.onEnterFrame;
    zoom_icon_mc.removeMovieClip();

    The lack of formatting (indentations) makes that much code very difficult to both read and follow logically, and with the amount of it, I decided it was better for you to try to find it than me after a quick glance failed to locate it.  That said... the function was just a line away from the line that prompted me to want to see it...
    zoom_panel_mc.zoom_btn.onPress = startZoomingMode;  // this is why I wanted to see it
    myBook.onClick = bookClick;
    function startZoomingMode() {             // this is where it is hiding
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = false;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 0;
    showZoomPointer();
    zooming = true;

  • Why no book-style page-flip transitions for Reader yet???

    Does anyone else find it odd that adobe has yet to include in its new versions a book style mode where you can flip facing pages back and forth like a book???? I know I'm not the only person using Reader as my primary pdf ebook reading software. Is this because adobe considers Reader primarily as software for documents, and not ebooks? You'd think Adobe would get wise and make a standalone application specifically for reading pdf ebooks, before Apple or Goodreader outdoes them at their own game. Oh wait, they already have. The only thing they're missing is interactive media capability.

    No, pdfs are not ebooks, but a hell of a lot of ebooks are pdfs. I don't see the merit in saying that hardware Reader is intended for couldn't handle the processing required to implement a page-flip. If they really wanted to do it, they could. There are a number of programs now that ebooks in pdf format can be read on, that offer page-flip, search, annotation, highlighting, etc.. These programs do not handle the pdfs as Reader does, but in many ways they're more friendly to use than Reader, as they don't impose a window around the book with menus, toolbars etc., and give the reader more the feel of a book.

  • "sharing" pages from an iphoto book to iweb

    Hi - I am trying to take pages of my photo book from iphoto and publish them to my website. Whenever I try to 'share' these pages (share-send to iweb-photo page) the photo page part is greyed out. It will only allow me to do it with one picture not a page from my book.
    thank you!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Follow steps #1 and #2 of this tutorial: #6 - Creating an iDVD Slideshow From an iPhoto Book.
    Then you can get something like this: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow.

  • Flipping Book Component page turning button

    Hello,
    I have a flipping book component. It come with the basic page turning function where the user can turn each page manually. Because there are many chapters,I created buttons under the pages so that the user can navigate directly to specific pages. I can not find and create the code
    to attach to each button to make the pages flip directly to the indicated page? The component uses AS2, im sure this is helpful.
    Here is main code that appears at frame 1.
    import mx.containers.Window;
    // Popup size
    popup_width = 900;
    popup_height = 600;
    // Zooming settings
    zooming = false;
    zoom_panel_mc.zoom_btn.onPress = startZoomingMode;
    myBook.onClick = bookClick;
    function startZoomingMode() {
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = false;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 0;
    showZoomPointer();
    zooming = true;
    function bookClick(pageNumber, page_mc, isCornerClick) {
    if (!zooming) {
    return;
    var page_url = page_mc.URL;
    if (page_url != undefined) {
    open_popup(page_url, pageNumber);
    } else {
    zooming = false;
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = true;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 50;
    hideZoomPointer();
    function open_popup(page_url, pageNumber) {
    if (zoom_win != undefined) {
    return;
    hideZoomPointer();
    zoom_win = mx.managers.PopUpManager.createPopUp(_root, Window, true, {title:"Page Number: " + pageNumber, closeButton:true});
    zoom_win.createObject("ScrollPane", "zoom_pane", 0, {contentPath:page_url, _x:3, _y:31});
    zoom_win.setSize(popup_width, popup_height);
    zoom_win.zoom_pane.setSize(popup_width-6, popup_height-31);
    listenerObject = new Object();
    listenerObject.click = closeWindow;
    zoom_win.addEventListener("click", listenerObject);
    zoom_win._x = Stage.width/2-popup_width/2;
    zoom_win._y = Stage.height/2-popup_height/2;
    function closeWindow(eventObject:Object) {
    zoom_win.deletePopUp();
    zooming = false;
    delete zoom_win;
    myBook.flipOnClickProp = true;
    myBook.autoFlipProp = 50;
    function showZoomPointer() {
    Mouse.hide();
    attachMovie("ZoomIcon", "zoom_icon_mc", 0);
    zoom_icon_mc.onEnterFrame = function() {

    this._y = _ymouse;
    function hideZoomPointer() {

    delete zoom_icon_mc.onEnterFrame;
    zoom_icon_mc.removeMovieClip();

    Nope... I worked my way up to what I know by digging in and learning as I go.  There is no "Limitless" pill you can take to get you there quickly.  MAke a copy of what you have and dig in and learn how it works.

  • Looking for a simple flip book template for Flash CS5

    Hi, I'm looking for a simple flip book template for Flash CS5 for a 20 page brochure/ booklet. Or a tutorial. Does anyone know of one?
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,
    No need to restrict your choice to the preset Pages Templates. Do a web search and choose a Word template. Pages will open Word documents and templates. Or design your own:
    This is a Table I inserted into a blank Pages Word Processing document. Format the date column in Inspector > Table > Format > Cell Format. Select the first Date cell,then drag the fill handle down to increment the dates.

    Ian.

  • Issue Concerning Flip Book Creation using In Design and converting document to SWF file

    Hello.  We are a charitable organization which publishes an annual magazine.  I have been looking at better ways show our magazine on the web and like the FLIP BOOK format.  I have created a sample here -- 2014 Magazine    When you look at this you will see that there is an issue with a white page showing at the front and the back of the magazine.  I prefer the 2 page format.  Have tried in one page - don't like it.  I also don't have funding available to purchase more software to do this.  While I appreciate they exist, I get the result I want I just don't want the first white page or the last white page to show.   Does anyone know if there is a work around.  We do our website design with Muse.

    I have been looking at better ways show our magazine on the web and like the FLIP BOOK format.
    Are you ok with the magazine not showing on Tablets? And the text is almost illegible because of the low res.
    When you look at this you will see that there is an issue with a white page showing at the front and the back of the magazine.
    When you export a swf you can choose use Paper as the background color. A swf movie's stage is one static pixel dimension, so if you want spreads the stage would be set to the spread dimension. You get the Paper background color to the left of page 1, which is the empty stage.
    A work around would be to set your InDesign Paper swatch color to match the HTML container background (#5F0F1C in your case) and then put a frame filled with white on the bottom layer behind every page.

  • How do I create a flipping book in Adobe Flash?

    Hello new friends,
    I am a graphic designer with many years of experience in Creative Suite Design Standard software. However I'm just beginning to get into Flash and have a project where I need to create a simple page-flipping brochure. My client has a 3-fold borchure in both SWF and JPEG formats which she wants to turn into a Flash flipping book to post on her website. I have the CS3 Web Premium package but I want to know if I need a third-party page flip plug-in or does my version of Flash (9.0) include the page flip engine? Also where can I find a tutorial to build a flipping book in Flash as this would be very helpful in building one for the first time.
    Many thanks in advance for any help you guy and gals can give me!
    Best,
    .stephen

    Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
    If anyone's interested I did find a site that looks like it has some good information regarding creating flip books (step by step) and they also sell page flip software that seems to work really well (as seen in the demos). Here's the site:  http://www.pageflip.hu/  (PageFlip 3.5)  In the third paragraph of the home page there is a greyed out link "online documentation." Select that link and it will take you to their documentation on how to build a flip file using their software. Fairly simple approach. I will probably purchase this software.
    System requirements for PageFlip 3.5 — Any browser with Adobe Flash player 8 installed; Adobe Flash 8 to edit source files.

  • Pages text lost thu iweb

    I write in Pages, my text for iweb pages. When I need it I copy and paste to a text box. Makes since right. I see it in iweb, resize and edit. It takes me 3 tries to post, then the text from Pages is missing. In one case, the blog the placeholder text is still there. The other has a big text box but no text.
    Help.
    Next, How can I publish one page at a time. When iweb tries to publish a lot of data it often fails and a page is incomplete. But it will not upload missing data, let you republish.

    Those would be Picture Book and Portfolio in the English version. The Picture Book only has text available on the introduction page. None of the picture layouts have text. It is at the top of the list of old themes. Is that the same as your fotoalbum? Now the Portfolio has text with every picture.
    There is a known bug with the Travel theme and text. But this is the first for those two.
    Did you did have double sided pages selected for each of those themes? The page limit for books is 50 physical pages so not having that option selected and having 90 or so pages may be a contributing factor to the text loss.
