Page Gradient Color fades when adding text.

Hi,
I've made several pages for my iWeb created site. Each page has a unique gradient color applied to it using the standard: Page inspector>Layout>Page Background>Gradient Fill commands. I've added a movie to this page and it all looks great. However, the moment I add a text box, the gradient color is drained of its saturation. A gold color turns to a pale yellow. A dark grey gradient turns to a light grey etc. When I publish the site, this desaturation is translated to the actual site online. Any Ideas? I've not done anything unique to the text. I just add a text box, type a word, drag into position and bam, just like that, the gradient color fades. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Chris

Chris:
Just ran a test and adding a text box didn't cause the gradient fill to lose saturation. Try the following:
1 - close iWeb and delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - reboot (clears the iWeb caches).
3 - launch iWeb, redo the page and try again.
I only published the page to a folder on the HD and not to the server but don't think that would produce any different results.

I udate my os to 10.6.7 and since then my Pages have color problems. The text is not visible (white on white background) it does'nt help to change the text color nor background color. I just download the recent trail version of Iworks and install it. The first document I opened it was ok. When I open the second one the problem appear again and stayed. Pls help

This behavior was described many times.
In every occurrence, the operating system was an uncompleted one resulting of the use of Software Update to update the operating system to 10.6.2, 10.6.3, 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, 10.6.7.
In such cases, the solace was to apply a combo updater.
As you are using 10.6.7, download and apply the combo 10.6.7 :

After that, run Software Update which will urge you to apply :

Use Software Update to update your os to 10.6.8 and anything else that needs to be updated.  After the installations go to /Library/Preferences - trash the com.apple.Preview.plist file.  Repair permissions, restart your computer and empty the trash.  Your Preview issue should now be resolved.

  • Color fades when scrolling in Safari 4

Since upgrading yesterday from Safari 4 beta to Safari 4 proper (and from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7), a strange things happen: when I scroll up or down in Safari, the color fades. It returns if I stop and click outside the app (i.e. on the desktop background), then recurs if I again scroll in Safari. Didn't happen before the upgrade, and it's quite annoying. Any suggestions?

What are the exact steps you took to fix the problem? I've run Repair Permissions twice now, restarted Safari, and still having the issue:

The above example occurs when I scroll down any page. The content of the page becomes very, very dark and completely unreadable.

  • Acrobat XI Crashes when adding text

I scan documents into Acrobat for various purposes. On many of them, I add a text box, i.e., type of record, volume and page. On other scans, I have to add a text box to every page. When I do have to add a text box on every page, I have learned to save the document after I add each text box, because when I begin to add the next text box, the program consistently crashes with no explanation of what is causing it to crash. Consequently, it normally takes me at least 10 minutes to complete a task which only should take 3 minutes at best. I have searched for solutions to this problem and attempted the various recommendations, to no avail.
It has reached the point where I seriously am considering finding another program to edit these files.
I am running Windows 8.1 with all updates and my Acrobat XI is the stand alone version. I do not subscribe to any cloud services.
Thank you for any suggestions and assistance.

I'm having a similar issue. Every third or fourth time I save after adding text Acrobat crashes with no meaningful reason (at least none in the crash message)...even though the added text is saved. I'm working through trying different text settings to see if there is a problem there. I'll post what I find.

  • Color conflict when printing text boxes layered with images

Thank you in advance for any insight on this question. I've got a text box grouped with an image in a Pages document. The text box is layered in front of an object and is transparent (no fill color in the text box). The object however, is filled with a color. When printing the document, the image comes out in two shades of blue even though the text box is transparent. Thoughts?

Want to add that if you uncheck the Retain Slide Quality Settings, you'll have to keep the High setting.
Another way to change slide quality is before publishing, and in that case I prefer Optimized to High (which is not possible when overriding the Slide Quality on publishing, there you only have the choice between Low and High).
Still I'm puzzled because the simple TEB normally do not cause that kind of quality issue, have seen it happening with shapes (because they have transparent pixels) and images, but with TEB's? Wondering

  • When adding text in XI Pro, some characters appear and some don't.  A space is substituted for the characters that don't print.  How do I fix this?

When using Adobe XI Pro and adding text, some numbers are not displayed.  In their place, a blank appears.  At first I thought it was a weak keyboard battery, but the same data appears fine in Word.  I've never seen this happen before.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  (Windows 7 Pro)
    Thank you!

I don’t know the font.  (One of our other employees had experienced the problem.)  We did discover that if we saved the document and then reopened it, the text was all there.
    You may close this issue.

  • Program freezes when adding text to clip

    Hi,
I have sent a 40 minute slideshow to PE7. I am splitting the slide show at various points and inserting short video clips. After having added text to both photos and video two or three times, I now find that the program freezes when I either try to add further text or even if I try to edit previously inserted text.
Has anyone a solution to this please?
    Thanks
    Jim
P.S. the reason I am adding video to the slide show and not the other way around is that I like the pan and zoom facility of the slide show which is not available as a transition in PE7.
Apparently I cannot add video clips to slide shows in PSE 7 - or at least not more than 5 seconds of video at a time.

    Hi, Thanks for you reply.
The photos are between 1 to 3 MB each if thats any help, My Sony Handycam was set to 16:9 format but I can't select this in Project preferences which seems fixed at 4:3. The point is that I have used photos of this size in a project containing both photos and video previously without problems. I have not tried to splice video footage into an imported slide show before.
    I will investigate further later.
    Thanks again
    Jim

  • File keeps turning colors, pixelating when adding content or scrolling down

    Dear all,
I have a problem with my file - for some reason the background, which I have inserted from Photoshop keeps pixelating and turning to a bright green, whenever I add things to the file. When I started out working on it it did not, but the more I add the more it turns and I can not get it to turn back. It starts in Patches and then spreads throughout the document, I don´t know how to better describe it. I´m adding a screenshot, maybe you can help me. The green you see in the middle is the one it is supposed to be. In this shot it just started turning and will then spread. It is worse when a photo is involved, because then the photo uses will also turn colors.
Really hoping someone knows what went wrong.
    Kind regards!
    A.

That's a pretty complex file. When was the last time you did a Save AS to remove old and inaccessible change information?
I've never seen any color anomalies, but it's not rare for me to see preview degradation, which I've traced to lsft/right scrolling using my mouse's tilt wheel. I'm able to restroe the view by holding the Alt + Spacebar keys to get the Hand tool and clicking anywhere on the page,so I'm curious if that works for you, too.
Finally, I'd recommend exporting this to .idml to clean up any crud in the file. See Remove minor corruption by exporting

  • Color Shifts when adding/removing transparency

I may have used the wrong search terms, so my apologies if this question exists somewhere else
Using Indd CS2: Assuming that "Overprint Preview" is off I notice a color shift on a layout when transparency is introduced or removed.
For example: a transparent object or placed image, is either added or taken away from a document that is inherently flat or non-transparent.
Note: It doesn't matter if the transparent object is affecting any other object on the page. For instance, I could have a polygon square set to multiply somewhere off the artboard. But as soon as I remove that polygon the color of the document shifts slightly. I can prevent this color shift from happening if I move the "Transparency Slider" to "Off" in Preferences>Display Performance. Or use "Fast" for the "Adjust View Settings".
So I guess I know what causes the shift to take place (+ or - transparency), but I can't explain what is causing the slight color shift. Can anybody help explain this in more detail?
    I do appreciate it.
    -Jeff

Turning on Overprint Preview gives you the most accurate view of how objects on the page will print. It's the preferred way to view the page (though it's normally off to speed up page display).
What happens when Overprint Preview is turned on when you add the transparent object. (Of course, when you print or create a PDF that needs to be flattened, all objects on the page need to be converted to the same color space (selected in Edit > Transparency Blend Spaceeither RGB or CMYK.

  • Pink document when adding text

When I open the document I get a message: "This file was created to be viewed on a television screen, but will appear compressed on your computer monitor. For optimal editing, it is recommended that you use a video monitor to preview and edit this image." I then click OK and open the document, but when I attempt to add text the entire page turns pink. I can add text but it is distorted - stretched in a horizontal direction.
I have read posts regarding this problem but none of the solutions have worked for me. Thanks for any help.

  • Going to the last page of a table when adding a new object

I added a Table(com.sun.rave.web.ui.component.Table) on my page and a button outside of that table to add new object rows. My problem is that I want the table to move to the last page when I add a new object. Instead the default bahaviour is showing the first page. Even if the newly added row is on a page > page 1.
e.g If I have a table with 5 pages and I am on page 1 and I add an object I want to see the last page of the table where I added the new object. In other words I want it to go to page 5 or page 6 in case the number of the new object is > the number of displayable rows of a page.
I did it with Javascript but I just dont like it. I wanna do it programmatically.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance guys!!!

  • Can't get rid of the # when adding text

I'm trying to edit a document in Indesign. I started by doing a Pre-Flight to correct errors and have one left I can't get rid of.
Originally the Text Error was for a font that ID could not find so I changed the font to what was already being used for other text - an included font - Charlamagne Std Regular
When trying to type text into a text box the type jumps to just above the text box where the pound sign (#) sits.
When entering type, even after positioning the curser inside the text box, it jumps the text to right before the pound sign, on top of the text box, and adds a pink box under the text.
I have attached a screen shot to show this. How to I get rid of the pound sign and pink box to be able to simply type some text in the text box (that the pink box is in)? Thanks!

@dkg62 – to make clear what's going on, select the text frame and show us another screenshot.
There are at least four cases where you can get a text like that. All cases imply, that the font you'd like to use is missing. I simulated this by formatting text with a font weight that is not available by a character style.
    1. The most likely case: There is baseline shift applied; here in my case 9pt.
All other cases are academical, because the pink highlighting is aligned with the text:
    2. Text frame options, baseline set to a fixed value (zero in this case)
    3. Text on path and the text frame options (baseline) is just the standard default. You can see a second #-end of story sign inside the text frame.
    4. Text on path and the text frame options (baseline) is set to fixed (zero in this case). The second #-sign inside the text frame is shifted above because of the fixed value of the baseline option of the text frame options. And obscured by the pink highlighting.
