Page Layout Orientation

I created a presentation, but now I want to change the page orientation to portrait instead of the default landscape. Anyone know how to do this?

You can change the aspect ratio of the slides in the Document Inspector, using the Slide Size dropdown menu. However, this will only change the slide size -- the slide content will be moved around, but will likely need to be further edited by hand.

    how do I print 1 page of a multiple page document  in landscape and the others portrait?

    Page orientation is a "per-document" setting. You can only have one or the other. You can rotate the content of a page or create two separate documents, export or print them as PDFs then combine them in Preview & rotate the one.

    but i get the following error when i create page through this page layout
    "Content Place holders are only allowed in master page"
    Can anyone tell me how do i insert left navigation in page layout which is created through sharepoint designer (.aspx file) but master page is created through design manager

    Hi  ,
    As the error says, you need to  add Content Place holders to Mater Page not the Page Layout.
    For  inserting  left navigation, you can add Vertical Navigation SharePoint component to the master page using Snippets  manager:
    1.
    Open the site then click design manager link from right top corner "Settings".
    2.
    Click “Edit Master Pages” link.
    3.Click your custom mater page. It will open preview page.
    4.
    Once open the preview page then click Snippets menu from top right side. It will open “Snippet Gallery” in new tab page.
    5.
    Click the Vertical Navigation menu item in “DESIGN “tab.
    6.
    In this page we can easy to configure component properties.
    After customization must click the update button then only the changes are reflected in the component snippet.
    7.
    Once click the update button the HTML code automatically generated in the “HTML snippet” box and click “Copy to Clipboard” button.
    8.
    Open the mapped network drive then open the Mater Page HTML file and paste HTML snippet where you want the navigation to show.

  • My Adobe XI software no longer converts Word to PDF files with hyperlinks or page layout preserved.

    Is anyone else having the same problem where the initial installation worked fine and over time, you are no longer able to adjust the setting in the 'convert to PDF' menu for Word documents?  I am now faced with Word documents that lose their hyperlinks on conversion and when there are changes in page orientation (e.g., portrait to landscape and back again), the software creates sub files for each kind of page layout.  In a word, the software has become useless.  What can I do to fix this?

    In order to preserve links on Mac Word to PDF. You need to do as follows (note this only preserves links created by Word's auto Correct. Not by Word's URL Creator.)
    Method #1
    Create Document save as .docx as backup.
    Go to File Menu > Print
    Click and hold the PDF button, a Context menu appears.
    Choose Adobe Quality PDF, or Adobe PDF (depends upon Version of Mac OS X)
    First Choose quality (similar to Job Options in Distiller) and whether to open using Acrobat Or Reader.
    Next a Title will appear. (in format "microsoft.nameoffle.docx.pdf").
    You can leave file name as is or remove the Microsoft and the .docx from the Name
    Save File.
    This method also will print pdf, even if it has section and Page breaks except when there is orientation change from Portrait, or landscape.
    Method #2
    Do step 1 above.
    Locate the file Created.
    Drag the file either on top the actual Application or its Icon in the Dock.
    Wait ......
    When Acrobat opens Immediately save.
    Again all links created with Auto-correct will be live.
    And pages will be intact in the PDF except when there is a Change in orientation.
    Auto correct will create links/URL's  when you type such the will automatically turn blue and become underlined. And clicking on the in the word Document  will go to the link.
    What does not work until Adobe fixes a 10-15 year old bug is where you select word then go to Insert menu> URL. A window opens and you choose the link or email, in the URL Creator.
    Also the Bug where changes in section, and pages breaks cause new PDF that have to be put together has not been completely cured. (Still splits when orientation changes.) Has been proved by Microsoft to be a Bug Adobe can't or won't fix. You simply take a Mac Word File open it in the PC version and create a PDF. And works perfect.

  • Special characters (norwegian wovels) not showing correctly in Page Layouts

    We have a publishing site which surfaces content from several catalogs in an authoring site in a cross site collection publishing environment.
    We have a problem with labels for Catalog-Item Reuse Snippets containing norwegian vowels/special characters not showing properly. An example of a snippet is shown below. This contains the character ø (oslash).
    <div class="rightColPaddingUnder"><h2>Leverandørkontakt</h2>
    <!--CS: [NavnhovedkontaktleOWSTEXT] Start Catalog-Item Reuse Snippet-->
    <!--SPM:<cc1:CatalogItemReuseWebPart runat="server" UseServerSideRenderFormat="True" ResultType="" NumberOfItems="1" UseSharedDataProvider="True" OverwriteResultPath="False" ResultsPerPage="1" SelectedPropertiesJson="[&#34;NavnhovedkontaktleOWSTEXT&#34;]" Title="$Resources:Microsoft.Office.Server.Search,CBSItem_Title;" Description="$Resources:Microsoft.Office.Server.Search,CBSItem_Description;" MissingAssembly="Cannot import this Web Part."     <!--SPM:</RenderFormat>-->
    <!--SPM:</cc1:CatalogItemReuseWebPart>-->
    <!--CE:End Catalog-Item Reuse Snippet-->
    </div>
    The frontend messes the character up and displays this as strange A
    We have tried several things in order to fix this but are running out of leads:
    tried to change encoding in the page layout html file from utf-8 to iso-8859-1
    tried to replace ø with the hex value (&#248;) and the old school & + oslash + ; way of encoding characters
    Regional settings on the server is verified to be norwegian
    The strange part is that actual content in the content type columns that we display around the page actually shows the norwegian characters correctly

    Excellent, thanks!. I checked the top level globalization setting i IIS and this was set to Windows-1252.
    However, our work around solution was to add the
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    declaration inside the first MS-statement inside the body tag of the page layout HTML file like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><!--SPG:
    -->
    <!DOCTYPE html[]>
    <html class="no-js" lang="en" xmlns:mso="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:msdt="uuid:C2F41010-65B3-11d1-A29F-00AA00C14882">
    <head>
    <title>Some title
    </title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <!--MS:<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="PlaceHolderTopNavBar" runat="server">-->
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <!--MS:<SharePoint:AspMenu ID="TopNavigationMenu" runat="server" EnableViewState="false" DataSourceID="topSiteMap" AccessKey="&#60;%$Resources:wss,navigation_accesskey%&#62;" UseSimpleRendering="true" UseSeparateCss="false" Orientation="Horizontal" StaticDisplayLevels="1" AdjustForShowStartingNode="false" MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="3" SkipLinkText="">-->
    Strange, but it worked.
    Actually we tried to set the globalization settings in the web.config files of the different IIS sites running in the webapp yesterday like this:
    <add name="SPWindowsClaimsAuthentication" type="Microsoft.SharePoint.IdentityModel.SPWindowsClaimsAuthenticationHttpModule, Microsoft.SharePoint.IdentityModel, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" />
    </httpModules>
    <globalization requestEncoding="utf-8" responseEncoding="utf-8" culture="nb-NO" fileEncoding="utf-8"/>
    <!--<globalization fileEncoding="utf-8" />-->
    <compilation batch="false" debug="false">
    As far as I can understand this should have the same effect as setting this in IIS.
    It seems that the IIS setting actually overrides whatever you put in web.config for globalization options.
    We have updated the IIS setting now to UTF-8 and done a IIS Reset. At the moment we get corrupted characters still, but now the existing aspx-files probably is corrupted and needs to be replaced with fresh ones. I will do a catalog dis-/reconnect.
    I'll update with whatever we end up with as the final solution. Anyway, very grateful for the invaluable help from a fellow Scandinavian :-)

  • WebPart Zone in Page Layout not displaying

    I have created a new page layout using Design Manager,  two files are created, one HTML file, and the other ASPX file with the same name. You cannot edit the .aspx file directly in SPD, you can only edit the .html file. You will find in the .html all
    those ASPX tags commented.
    In the HTML file I added a web part zone, I copied a snippet from the design manager, right after a page content snippet. As shown below.  Saved and previewed the page with no errors.  The Page Content shows up just fine but there is
    no WebPart Zone underneath it.?  Any Ideas why it is missing?

  • IBook Page Layout

    Hi!
    I'm creating my first book with iPhoto 2008 (7.1.3).
    Remarkable is (for me) the fact that when you chose a specific theme
    (e.g. picture book) and a specific page layout (e.g. 6 photos and title) that depending on the photos you use iPhote sometimes swap pictures and sizes of photos.
    I have now several pages with 6 photos, with different layouts e.g.:
    two columns of each three photos (one large, two small)
    two columns, but one column with one photo, and the other with one large and 4 small pictures.
    Actually these variations are great, it increases the possibilities of iPhoto, however:
    from the page layout menu, I'm only able to select 6 pictures with or without caption. And not the 'layout' of those six photos. Is there any way to define/select which layout is used?
    I hope you have some ideas!
    Thanks in advance,
    Thomas

    tm
    Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
    Is there any way to define/select which layout is used?
    The short answer is no
    The longer answer - from Liz Castro's web page - is
    Six-photo Layout Examples
    The six-photo layouts are idiosyncratic at best. First, the easy parts: They always fill the page. There are a number of display possibilities. The basic layout (below left) shows one large vertical, one medium horizontal and four small horizontals. But there can also be two medium horizontals with four medium verticals, in various locations.
    The tricky part is getting to the configuration that you like. It's not just a question of changing the order of the photos, as with other layouts. The curious thing is that sometimes the frames are rigid (cropping photos to fit) and sometimes putting a differently-oriented photo in a frame changes the layout. When you first choose the six-photo layout, you'll get the standard arrangement, shown above left. If you drag a vertical photo to the vertical spot and then a second vertical photo anywhere, you'll get the medium/medium arrangement. If you want to get back to the standard arrangement indicated by the menu, you can always choose the layout from the menu to get back to it.
    If you choose the second six-photo layout, you get a caption. Sometimes the layout stays like you had it (albeit slightly smaller), as shown here on the right:
    Sometimes, iPhoto decides you really wanted the standard six-photo layout (and offers no Undo). Note that the only thing that has changed on the left page shown below is that I chose the second six-photo layout. The photos are the same, just rearranged:
    You should be able to get the same layouts that you got without the caption, but I'll confess it took a lot of playing around in this case (shown below left). I put a photo in one frame, iPhoto pops it in another and changes the layout. I put it where I want it to go, iPhoto keeps the layout and crops the photo. The only way I was able to succeed getting the layout I wanted was to painstakingly choose each photo in the right order (basically, if iPhoto insisted on putting the next photo in a particular place, I chose the picture that should go there). This is not the way a program should work, but in the end, you can win:
    She also has a discussion on the orientation of photos changing the layout using the picture 8 photo layout as part of her example
    I think you will find her web page very helpful and hopefully it will reduce your frustrations somewhat

  • How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

    Hi,
             I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
    Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.
    Thanks in advance.

    Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
    Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
    - if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
    you have to check formating very carefull.

    Any help ?
    Thanks

    Hello Jego.
    We faced the same issue after upgrade to EHP1 SP07 last week and managed to solve it by modification of layout.jsp and com.sap.nw.wpc.layoutmanager.LayoutBean within com.sap.nw.wpc.designtime.par. SAP's code requires an additional catch handler, so it is better to rise an OSS message.
    As a workaround you may change a default layout for wpc main page (good for new pages) or manually edit output.xml for existing pages.

  • Custom page layouts are not getting displayed in ribbon

    Hi,
    I have created a custom page layout under welcome category. This is getting displayed in pages library while creating a page and also in page layout option from site settings which is fine. But when a page is in edit mode if we click page->page layouts
    from ribbon, all the default page layouts are getting displayed except my custom page layout.
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Chaitanya.

    you have a subsite in a site collection •the publishing feature is activated in the subsite, but not in the site collection •you want to edit/add page layouts on the site collection level, to be used within your subsite •when you open the site collection
    in SharePoint Designer, you can't see Page Layouts in the Site Objects panel You now have 2 options: you can either activate the publishing feature in the site collection (and the Page Layouts link comes back), or you can use the All Files link and browse
    to the master pages and page layouts library (_catalogs > masterpage.) Either option will do, unless you really don't want the publishing feature in the site collection.
    To fix the issue go to Site Actions -> Site Settings in the upper left corner.
    Under "Site Collection Administration" click on "Site Collection Features".
    Look for "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" and activate it. It might take a moment to load.
    Next return to "Site Settings" and click on "Manage Site Features"
    Look for "SharePoint Server Publishing" and activate it. It might take a moment to load.
    If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • I really want more options for page layouts.

    I am enjoying iphoto11, but sometimes wish for more page layout options.  Is it possible to flip an entire page layout  - like the option to flip a photo? I am currently working with a Photo Essay theme and in most of the layouts the text box is on the same side of the page. When I preview the book I see that I have many parallel layouts which looks a little stiff.  Any ideas?

    1 - there is no option to add layouts or modify existing layouts - suggest to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
    2 - I understand that Aperture offers this capability
    3 - you can do pages in any program you want and do a print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto option and then use that image as a full page photo in a book - see Old Toad's tutorial #19 for more info

  • Can I mix Pages page layout and word processing together in one document?

    Hello there ! I am quite new to Pages and I am desperate to learn as i want to get rid of everything being Microsoft
    As you all know when you open Pages you can choose between page layout and word processing !
    the thing is i thought that after using a page layout you could just go with word processing easily... well no, you can't, but i'm sure i'm missing something...
    For exemple i really like the catalogue brochure and it would be perfect for me to start a project... but after a few pages, i can just add blank pages and if i want to type text, i have to add text boxes... i don't want that, I want word processing... and another thing in this brochure i can't add table of content because it is not by default in the template...
    So my question is quite basic here, can we link Page layout and word processing without having to use text boxes and everything ?
    Thanks in advance !
    Have a good day

    Alexander,
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
    The simple answer is no. What differentiates page layout from word processing mode is that the PL mode has no text layer. So everything that goes on the page must be an object of some kind. And any pages you add to a PL document must also be PL. You can't mix the two modes. One way around it is to start with a blank page, insert a text box, then stretch the box so that it covers the entire page. You can the type in it as if it were a text layer in a WP file. You can even capture that page so that you can add it automatically when you need it, or save it as a template.
    As for building a Table of Contents, it appears that Pages only sees text styles that are on the text layer, which means it won't see styles that are in objects -- which means it won't work with a PL document. From being a long-time reader of this discussion group, I've noticed it's rare that someone wants to add a ToC to a PL document.
    If you find that you're going to be mixing text and graphics, start with a word processing template. If you really like the Catalog Brochure, you could always copy some or all of its elements over to a blank WP template.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic Page Layout - Opportunity Product Revenue

    Hi gurus,
    I am trying to setup a dynamic template for "Opportunity Product Revenues"
    I set it up successfully in the object. However, this data is exposed only as a related list of Opportunity and not directly. Now, when I go into the "Opportunity" customization, it only allows me to set up static page layouts, with no option to setup the Dynamic page layouts through the Related list.
    Please help..

    Hi Jonathan,
    Many thanks for your response.
    Our CTE is already on R19. We want to experiment and be ready when our PROD is upgraded to R19.
    Can you help me with the requirement, if you have an idea please? I would really appreciate the help.
    Thanks

  • In Pages '09, how do I remove the header from the first page of the document in a page layout document?

    Working Pages '09, I am trying to set up a multi-page document using page layout  (not a word processing document, because I'll be using lots of graphics and text boxes), with headers and footers, but no header on the first page, as this will be the title page. The layout>section pane has the 'First page is different' option  greyed out (because it's a word processor only option). Help tells me that each page is it's own section in page layout, but there is no way to have one page without a header and all the others with, as far as I can tell. Am I completely missing something or is there a way around this?
    Also, I want to do this again for additional chapters in the document (or else, I believe, be forced to manually start page numbering for each chapter in a new document).
    Cheers.

    Hi, Barry. I don't know why this solution didn't work for me :-\ Does it matter that my page numbers are in the footer and not the header? When I follow your direction, the pages do get numbered differently. My problem occurs with the last step.
    1. Open the Inspector. (Check!)
    2. Click the Layout button (second from left). (Check!)
    3. Click Section. (Check!)
    4. Make the two settings shown: (Check!)
    5. Go to Page 1 and delete the contents of the Header. (When I do this, the content for all footers is deleted...)
    I really appreciate your insight.
