Page malfunction in Edit Mode

I've never had a problem before with Contribute, so it is odd
having to post to these forums. I thank anyone and everyone that
replies in advance for your assistance.
I am using Contribute 3.0 to work with a client's web site.
Unfortunately, one of the pages loses all of the content in between
the header and footer, and I'm not quite sure what's going on. It
looks just fine in the "browse" mode of Contribute -- as well as in
any regular web browser. The only time it looks bad is in Edit mode
-- and it is the only page on the site that does this.
You can see the page as it looks in Contribute here:
http://www.dreadnoughtwines.com/listpage_error-screenshot.jpg
I've looked at the code for the site, and I can't figure out
what's going on. Can anyone help me at all? I'd really appreciate
it!
Regards,
Joe

I had this same problem, I was able to fix it by putting full
paths to my CSS and image files. However I still have another
problem in Edit Mode myself, I created a region, where I can edit
the main text block on the page. However I am only able to use the
mouse to edit the bottom half of the text. I can use my keyboard to
arrow up to the lines above this and add the text. The other odd
thing is, when I start typing text, it doesn't show up. But when I
review the page on the temporary URL, it does display the updated
text. Anyone seen this problem?

  • How to know when page is in edit mode ?

    Hello,
    I've written a custom item (plsql) and want to display somthing different when the page is in edit mode (url contains mode=16). I've tried to get the GETQUERY context var but it only displays the pageid ... the rest of the url is missing. Is there another var or some other api I can use to get this information ?

    I have already checked for VA02 -> Line item -> Environment ->changes.  It show changes related to fields available in VA02.
    But it is not showing changes related to Serial number change.
    I have also checked with table CDHDR, CDPOS. But the data related to change in serial number of SO line item is not captured in those tables also.
    Is there any other way to know?

  • Page incomplete in edit mode

    I use frames, and when attempting to edit one of the frames, the correct frame comes up but it is incomplete with about 50%missing. I suspect this may be from a far earlier version of the page. So how do I get to the current page to edit. If you go to www.cruisemasters.org you'll see the opening page. However, the editing version stops after the bulleted points, with no mention of the blog reference nor the chart about licensing.
    Mike

    If you place a frame in edit mode, only the contents inside that frame will be placed in edit mode.
    Also please share the screenshot of the page placed in edit mode, this might help in understanding the issue better.

  • Is there a way to detect if the page is in edit mode or not? [WC Framework]

    I just can't find any system bean to provide such information. If any one know, that'd be very helpful.
    This is for Webcenter Framwork (not the Space). and by "edit-mode", I mean when user hit Ctrl+Shift+C and the blue dotted lines show up.
    Thanks in advance

    Following EL will do what you want:
    #{composerContext.inEditMode}In other words, the composerContext bean is available, even in a WebCenter Portal application. If you take a look at the default template (pagetemplate_globe.jspx) that is created when you create a webcenter portal application. On line 16, you see an example of the usage.
    edit: sorry... Didn't see you meant the contribution mode...
    Edit mode is by pressing ctrl+shift+e
    ctrl+shift+c is called contribution mode...
    I just looked at the source code of the content presenter taskflow and this is what they are using to show the dotted line:
    inlineStyle="#{composerContext.subView == 'contentContribution' ? 'border:2px dashed blue' : ''}">So I guess #{composerContext.subView == 'contentContribution'} will return true if you are in contribution mode. This should work both in spaces as in framework.
    Hope this helps.

  • Contribute shows blank page when in edit mode.

    I have installed Contribute for a friend so that they can update their website.
    We can connect fine - but when we try to edit the page contribute just gives a blank screen (white page)
    this happens on every page of the website that is tried.
    The guy that developed the site uses includes - i.e so there is one main page and the links use an id ref to
    go to the other parts of the site - I'm thinking this may have something to do with it?
    Any ideas on how to resolve?
    Help greatly appreciated.
    The site is - http://www.guardforcesecurity.co.uk

    All current and previous Contribute versions can't handle server side includes.  Contribute CS5 due out at the end of this month supposedly will fix this, says Adobe. I'll reserve judgement till I saw it myself.
    So if your page basically consists of included content only, it's quite possible that you wont see much of anything in Contribute CS4 when you hit Edit Page..

  • Grey background when trying to place page in edit mode

    Hi,
    When I try to place a particular page in edit mode in my sharepoint site, it displays a grey background with no content i.e. it doesn't go into edit mode.  I have tried reverting to previous versions of the page and I have the same issue. This issue
    even spans multiple browsers.
    I have even tried changing my master page to one that works in the testting environment, but this still doesn' work in production. Any ideas of what next to do?
    thanks,
    Sherazad.
    Sherazad

    Hi,
    Please check as follows:
    1. Activate the site feature "SharePoint Server Publishing".
    2. Use IE developer tools to check the page style in edit mode.
    3. Open Master Page in SharePoint Designer(SPD), then look for any reference to CSS files or CSS code.
    4. Open any custom CSS files you find in SPD and check.
    5. Open your Edit page in SPD and check.
    If the issue still exists, I suggest you provide some screenshots for further research.
    Thanks,

  • Background color portler header in edit mode

    Hi,
    I'm having a had time searching this forum on the subject so here's my question: when in edit mode on a page (portal 9026) the background of the portlet headers turns into a greenish color.
    How can I change this color/which style is this?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Peter,
    no, I don't. To clarify, I am referring to the top of the page when in edit mode (where links like Graphical | Layout | List and things like page path, builder, navigator etc. are shown.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Tony

  • Hiding Parsys in Edit Mode

    Hello,
    I'm building a tabbed component and I'm having trouble hiding the parsys section for inactive tabs using CSS styling (whether visibility or display).  Even though I set the visibility of the parent DIV the parsys is sitting to hidden, it still displays on the page while in Edit mode (works in Preview).
    <%
            String[] linkname = properties.get("navitems", String[].class);
            for (int i = 0; i < linkname.length; i++) {
              if (i == 0) {
                %><div class="miniShow" style="visibility: visible;"><%
              } else {
                %><div class="miniShow" style="visibility: hidden;"><%
              %>
                  <div class="<%= "basicMiniShow"+(i)%>"><cq:include path="<%= "mininav"+i %>" resourceType="foundation/components/parsys"/></div>
                </div>
              <%
             } // end for
    %>
    With the code above, as my JavaScript function properly swaps between tabs and shows the components in the parsys, the subsequent "Drag your components here" box doesn't disappear.  For example, if I add 2 tabs and place a Button in the first parsys and a Image in the second, swapping tabs correctly shows/hides the button/image respectively - however the "Drag your components here" box for both are always visible.
    What am I missing here?

       The paragraph component [1] is resposible for rendering once editContext has a resource set[2].   Either
       *  Need to pass a variable & then based on that variable paragraph component should decides whether to render or not.
       OR
       *  Using javascript Iterate all the div below parent div and apply the style="clear:both".
    [1]   /libs/foundation/components/parsys/parsys.jsp
    [2]
        if (editContext != null ) {
            editContext.setAttribute("currentResource", null);
            // draw 'new' bar
            IncludeOptions.getOptions(request, true).getCssClassNames().add("section");
            %><cq:include path="*" resourceType="<%= newType %>"/><%

  • Correctly Hide Edit Mode Elements in Preview Mode

    Hello,
    I wanted to know how I should modify the code below to correctly show content in the correct mode?  The code below works, but when switching to preview mode, I have to manually refresh the page to get the "Preview/Publish mode text" to disappear.  I'm aware I could modify the sidekick to force a refresh, but I'd prefer to do it similarly to how CQ does it (eliminate all edit mode components immediately without refreshing the page).  Thoughts?
    import="com.day.cq.wcm.api.WCMMode"
    <%
        if ((WCMMode.fromRequest(request) == WCMMode.EDIT) || (WCMMode.fromRequest(request) == WCMMode.DESIGN)) {
            %><div>Edit mode only text</div><%
        } else {
            %><div>Preview/Publish mode text</div><%
    %>

    Hi,
    As the above code is evaluated server side and edit/preview is triggered client side this approach will not work for you.
    You could use the fact that CQ is adding "cq-wcm-edit" class to page body in edit mode and "cq-wcm-preview" in preview and hide your divs by CSS.

  • Managing icons of new/edit/refresh on inline edit mode of content presenter

    I have a content presenter, which shows content from ucm. I have enabled in-context editing and I can see new/edit/refresh icon if I press ctrl+shift+c. I want to remove new icon. I also want to provide a new icon to archive content. On click of that icon I want to run my custom code written in bean.
    So my question is there anything to disable new/edit/refresh features.
    How would I add my icon (link) in this list?
    Thanks
    Sanjeev

    Hi, I am stuck with this.
    Content presenter is showing 'New', 'Edit' and 'Refresh' icon when page is in edit mode.
    I want to hide 'New' icon and also want to show my 'delete' icon after framework provided 'Edit' icon. I would like to call my ridc api on delete icon. Is there any way to achieve it?
    I tried putting 'delete' icon in template but it appears below refresh icon. I want to make it in same line as other icons.
    I am also fine if there is a way to hide all framework provided icons. I would create my own.
    Thanks
    Sanjeev

  • Styles not rendering in edit mode

    I have Contribute CS5. When I view a page in non-edit mode in Contribute, the page renders with the appropriate styles.  When I put it in edit mode, some syltes render, some do not.  The styles do show for selection in my style drop down list. Can anyone tell me what the issue might be?  This is disconcerting for our users.

    I am using multiple style sheets, but the styles that are not rendering are in the last style sheet called.  I think I pretty much have determined that the rendering engine in Contribute cannot do some styles (perhaps after a certain CSS version number?).  For instance it would not render font-variant:small caps. I had this in my h1 style declaration. But it would render color:red; on that same h1 as an experiment I tried. It also won't render background images.

  • Bug or feature : Using portlets with edit mode on a page in the portal

    Hi,
    i am using Workshop 8.1 (GA release july) and i have discovered a bug (or a
    feature) with respect to the beta version.
    i have created a simple portlet with a view mode and an edit mode. When i
    place the portlet on the very first page of a one book portal, it works
    perfectly. However, i have a book with three pages and placed the portlet on
    the second page. Now when i put the portlet in edit mode, by clicking the
    edit button, i am directed to the first page of the portal and the portlet
    will not show.
    Inspection learned that the URL generated for the edit button, didn't
    contain the _pagelabel parameter. When i added the parameter manually it
    works fine.
    A final remark is that the buttons in the titlebar have no icons the browser
    can load.
    hope someone can help me out,
    Lodewijk

    Can you please post this question to weblogic.developer.interest.portal

  • While in Edit Mode in Moodle - page content does not render at all, but I am able to display the underlying HTML code. Happens only after upgrade to Firefox 11.0.

    While in edit mode in the Moodle course management system, the Page Content window should display the page as it will appear to the user. If you click on the "Edit" button, you are able to view the HTML code for the page. However, when you return to the normal display mode, the page is blank. This has occurred after the upgrade to Firefox 11.0. Page is normally rendered in Internet Explorer.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Page content disappears in Edit mode - Custom Master Page

    Hi All,
    Below are the two issues I have with my master page.
    1) I am facing the strange issue with the pages created using custom page layouts and custom master page.
    In browse mode, everything looks perfect and as expected. But when I try to edit the same page, all content disappears as soon as page ribbon appears. When I click back on Browse tab on the ribbon, everything appears back normally.
    2) Also When I apply my custom master page as site master for Publishing site it works I can see all my custom design and layout. But when I apply same for team sites, unless I change system master to my custom master page, it doesn't reflect my design.
    Does anyone face this issue before?
    Thanks

    Once in edit mode, are you able to view the page's source and do a "Find" on a certain keyword that should normally appear in your page's content? Is it there?
    I'm trying to determine if its a server side issue with your master page's code that's causing the content not to be sent back across the wire to the user or if the content is there but just not properly presented. Thanks
