Page mode vs. Draft mode

Hello,
Is there a recommendation around which mode a user should be in, as it pertains to the volume of data in the report?  If the report contains a large number of records, is it better to be in Page mode vs. Draft mode, and visa versa?
Thank you very much,
Scott

Quick display mode is the default mode, which provides good balance on performance and report formatting. It is a pagination mode based on data rather than the physical page size.
Anyway, based on your need, if you want to do page fine-tune, choose page mode. If you want to do whole data browsing, choose draft mode. Otherwise choose quick display mode.

    Pages printing in draft mode. First line normal and the rest is faint.
    Please, how do I reset this.
    Thanks

    If you are using a printer (e.g. HP) that has an Economode (powersaver) setting, leave this off. Otherwise, your prints will look washed out as though toner was depleted.
    Since Pages itself does not have a selectable “draft” mode, the focus will be on your printer hardware and configuration.

  • Firefox 3.6.6 doesn't display text correctly (looks like draft mode) in web pages (I have compared it sidse by side with IE8)

    Using Firefox 3.6.6 text displays on the screen looking like a draft mode print, or like it was printed with a dot matrix printer. I have compared it to IE8, which displays much better. I was thinking it was a display setting until I compared it to IE8. I have looked thru all the settings in Firefox I can find, but no improvement. Also thought it might be my new (second hand) monitor until I did the side by side comparison with IE8.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Got new computer and updated to Firefox 3.6.6

    I also have this problem and it just started in the last week or so. It seems to be dependent on my home network and the problem only exists with firefox. I have used chrome and IE8 with no issues. I can verify tomorrow that it only exists in my network but one thing I was able to test is that the problem exists even on my linux boot. I am totally dumbfounded with this problem and I can't find anything that will allow the gmail page to load. All other pages I have tried load fine, all be it a little slower than normal but they load. If anyone knows of a difference between firefox and all other browsers on how it goes through the router I would appreciate the info cause I don't know of any differences.

  • Draft Mode in Oracle UCM

    Hello Everybody,
    Just wanted to confirm whether there is a Draft Mode for document uploading (checkin in) in Oracle UCM.If we have one, how do we configure it to appear and work.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Prashant,
    When the document goes to criteria workflow, user who created a document can be easily set as a reviewer using tokens. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/documentation/admin/workflow_guide_10gr3en.pdf#page=142. With this scenario he doesn't lose control over a document.
    This is how I would do this in UCM.
    I didn't find anything OOTB that does what you want and - to be honest - I have never had to do it.
    I had to use another UCM in one of customers and document drafts caused a lot of mess - there was always someone who "forgot" to publish a final version or didn't know what are consequences of not publishing it. I think, that it is better to put document creation in a separate workflow - it is more clear to users.
    Another idea how to do it is to simply create a separate folder for Drafts and allow user to move a document when he finishes the work. Implantation of this idea depends on the particular case.
    Good luck!

  • How do I print text in draft mode in CS5.5?

    I'm sure this is really simple, but I'm stumped, and I haven't been able to find instructions online. A page of text I'm trying to print prints at the highest quality no matter what I do to try to change the settings. Not only is it wasting ink, but it's taking forever to print just a few paragraphs. I saw a reference in an online forum about printing in draft mode, but no instructions on how to do it. Does anyone know? Thanks.

    Thanks. I meant to get back to you sooner but I've been busy. I'll have to consider looking into a laser again at some point. Last time I looked was several years ago, and prices for what I wanted (color, oversize printing, envelope printing, color photocopying) were higher than I wanted. If it would save me money to buy just an 8 1/2 x 11 monochrome for printing emails and stuff, though, maybe I should consider it. I'm doing a lot less photo printing than I used to. I also didn't want to take up more space by having two printers, but if the savings were significant it might be worth it.

  • Web Application- Printing in draft mode

    From JSP, I need to print a document in draft mode to local machine. I used the below code for doing the same. The report is getting printed to the server machine. I want the report to be printed in client machine (i.e if the printed is attached to client machine, report should get printed else message should be given as no printer attached).
    InputStream is = conn.getInputStream();
    DocFlavor myFormat = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.AUTOSENSE;
    Doc myDoc = new SimpleDoc(is, myFormat, null);
    PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
    aset.add(new Copies(1));
    aset.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
    PrintService services = PrintServiceLookup.lookupDefaultPrintService();
    System.out.println("services" + services.getName());
    DocPrintJob job = services.createPrintJob();
    job.print(myDoc, aset);

    JSP code executes on the server, not the client. It is meant for dynamically generating HTML pages based on code it executes on the server side. You are not using the right technology for your goal.

  • Print in Draft mode

    I am printing to a network printer on my [Windows] home network. I am trying to print in "Draft" mode. In Windows, the print dialog allows me to choose the various quality options for my HP printer (Draft, Normal, Presentation, etc.). When printing from my MacBook, I do not get any of these options. Anything I print is sent in NORMAL which is slow and wastes ink for basic everyday documents. On the Windows machine that the printer is connected to, the default print settings are set to "Draft" mode, but anything sent from the Mac prints in Normal anyway. Can anyone help me remedy this? Thanks.

    If you are using a printer (e.g. HP) that has an Economode (powersaver) setting, leave this off. Otherwise, your prints will look washed out as though toner was depleted.
    Since Pages itself does not have a selectable “draft” mode, the focus will be on your printer hardware and configuration.

  • How to print in draft mode with Canon MX432

    I am unable to choose draft mode when I print. I can view it, but it is greyed out. My only options are "normal" and "best". I have contacted Canon and they say it is not a Canon issue and rather a setting that needs to be done on my iMac. I am currently running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I have tried the print dialog box, settings and the printer web page. Still no solution.
    Here is a pic of the dialog box in Safari. I have tried Word, Adobe, etc. They all have draft similarly greyed out.
    I would appreciate any suggestions of fixes for this issue.
    Thanks!

    When you use the Canon driver, the 2 sided printing is set in a different location. There is an entire menu dedicated to it (at least on my mx892). The printer dialog box has a menu selector in the middle of the screen (I think it says "layout" by default). If you click on it, you will see the duplexing options at the bottom. Much more flexibility than the single checkbox available with "airprint". The interface is unusual (at least for me) but you can pre-set up many different configurations (Fast Duplex, Fine Single-sided, B&W, Photo, etc etc.)

  • How do I print in draft mode on Epson Workforce 3540

    I just bought and set up an Epson Workforce all in one printer.  Everything is working fine, except that I can't get it to print in draft mode.
    I've tried a few different applications and all are the same.  When I go to print, I get a window that includes a print quality slider at the bottom that includes three settings: draft, normal, and best.  The word "draft" is grayed-out.  If I try to drag the slider to it, it snaps back to normal in the middle.
    I looked in the printer's manual, and it says draft mode can only be selected with "plain paper" selected.  But, even when I have plain paper selected, I cannot choose draft quality.  In fact, it seems no matter what I try I cannot choose draft quality.
    The printer's owner's manual, it also shows some printer dialog windows that I don't get (I think I did get them with the Epson I just replaced, though).
    Can anyone tell me how I can select draft print quality, and why I'm having so many problems doing so?  Maybe it's to be expected that the Epson isn't letting me select the print mode quality that would save me the most ink.
    I'm attaching a screen capture of what I see when I try to print.  It is the first image.
    I'm also attaching a couple of screen captures from the printer's owner's manual section on Mac printing.  These are the printer dialog windows I don't see when I try to print.
    What I see when I try to print (note that "Draft" is grayed-out on the quality slider):
    These are what the printer's manual seems to suggest I should see (and what I think I did see with my last Epson printer that I just replaced):
    And:

    Based on your screen captures I believe you may have selected Apple's AirPrint driver rather than the Epson driver. This can happen if you add the printer by selecting it from the small pop-up window that appears with a heading of Nearby Printers after you click the plus button in the Print & Scan preference pane.
    To confirm which printer driver you are using, open the Print & Scan preference pane and select the Epson in the Printers colum. The right pane will give some details about the printer. If there is mention of AirPrint in the printer Name or Kind, then this will be the issue. The fix would be to remove this printer from Print & Scan and add again. But this time, don't select the Epson from the Nearby Printers pop-up. Instead, click on Add Printer Or Scanner from this pop-up window and from the next Default Add printer window, select the Epson in the list and ensure you select the Epson driver in the Use menu rather than the AirPrint driver.

  • How do I go to a specific page in full-screen mode?

    I've been using page for almost 3 months now and always jumped to the top of the document and clicked on my TOC entry to get to the start of whatever chapter I wanted to write or edit. Today, I decided it would be faster to just use Cmd-G, like I would have in MS Word, to jump to a specifc page. I was shocked to discover that that repeated my last search. Is there any way to jump to a specific page without leaving full-screen mode and navigating by the page tumbs? Right now, I tend to rewrite entire chapters, so I have less need to go to specific pages, but that will change later on. Ideally, I'd like to be able to jump from section to section, too.

    Oddly, I never moved the cursor left to see the pages while in fullscreen mode. It's not as fast as a Cmd-[x]-[#] shortcut, but will work for my purposes.
    Thanks

  • Querying up AR Customer OA page in read-only mode for a Single Customer

    We are building a Custom Form in which associated Customer <defined in AR> would be queried up.
    Now we want to give an option to the User to view the complete details of the Customer. We would be giving a menu option in Tools 'View Customer' thru which he would see the Full Customer Details. <AR Customer OA page>
    We have two requirements
    1> The Full Customer Details should show up in Standard OA Customer Page the moment page comes up. The user should not be required to query the details.
    2> It should be read-only and user should not be able to update any field.
    How can we achieve this requirement? I did some RnD but did not see any place in EBS where we display the Customer Page in read-only mode and that too quried up for one particular customer.
    Thanks
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
    Please let me know if find any solution for this. We have a similar scenario in which we need to call the customer Page with all the inforamtion populated, related to one customer.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Wrong colors when printing PDF in Draft Mode Printing (Win)

    I am using Acrobat to print my contact sheets from the Print module (Windows). If I use the "Draft Mode Printing" in LR, colors in the resulting PDF are way off. Any idea what the settings in Acrobat should be, to obtain correct colors? I have tried many combinations in the "Adobe PDF Conversion Settings", especially in the "Color" tab, but with no success.
    Note that colors in the resulting PDF are correct instead when I disable the "Draft Mode Printing" from LR.

    No I did not build 1:1 previews first. The point of using the draft print is to me to do quick, so would rather not build any 1:1 preview. Anyway, I don't believe I got what you wrote: if I do not build the 1:1 preview, what is the color space of the print output in Draft Mode?

    All,
    It appears that the page Javascript maximum limit size was reached. The error stopped appearing after some of the page Javascript code was removed out to Application Static Files. I wonder if there exists any "direct" indicator by the system whenever the size limit has been reached?
    Again, the run error only occurred when the page was loaded in "Debug" mode.
