When Mouse-over extra long URLs web page moves offscreen to fit. Below is a search result, mouse-over Barracuda Email Archiver.

This doesn't work. If I use the URL you suggest I
get the first web page I created. The long URL gets
to the correct web page.
As mentioned by the other poster there are several options. One is you could try resending your old url with brackets around it. This might prevent the receivers from botching the copy/paste if it is getting split by their mail program. Also it can be shorter.

You might want to shorten the page name to sssb or something. You don't seem to have it linked to anything, so it's not appearing in the navigation bar and doesn't matter. You could include it in the navigation bar of your main site so it is just a mouse click away from the url that ends in /iWeb. You could move it under a second site, with a short name, like 2, and then you can use the url ending in /iWeb/2.

Breaking long URLs but keeping live

I am coming across a URL problem more frequently now and hoping someone may be able to help me on this.
I often design briefing papers and other printed documents that need to include often quite lengthy URLs, such as:

Naturally this poses a bit of a design issue on a printed page in that these longer URLS (they can often be much longer as well) do not fit within one column, so I usually design so that I create a reasonablt sensible split so that they read on two lines or more, eg:

leach-pathways-approach
However, clients are more frequently distrbuting material as both hard copies at conferences and as pdfs via email/web downloads.
So, the problem I am having is that it seems to the moment you split the line (I have tried all the special InDesign space options etc) and run the pdf, the link is broken and Acrobat will not link to the desired website. I have done extensive testing and it seems that the pdf will only ever acknowledge the first line, eg:

only (and ignores leach-pathways-approach)
Does anyone have a solution? At the moment, it seems my only option will be to somehow get all URLs to be on one line only but that is very impractical as they often appear within running text.

It's Acrobat that attempts to recognize URLs in your document. From the point of view of Acrobat, the URL ends with that line, it has no hidden data to connect it with the next line.
You can add hyperlinks to your document in InDesign (search the Help for 'hyperlinks'), and those would appear in exported PDFs, but I'm not really sure if this would override the viewer preference setting in Acrobat.

Well,
it's up to you. The first part (Mcit-Project-ViewController-context-root) is the context root which you define in the view controller project. 'faces' is the name the servlet filter reacts on. You can't omit it but shorten it in web.xml. The rest is your directory structure. I'm not sure how to shorten this other as to move the jspx files back into the web root folder.
By the way an ADF faces app never uses the .jspx at the end of the url. If you specify '.jspx', you only render the page but don't start the work flow.

Opening a long URL on click of button in CRM Web UI

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue while opening a long URL (length greater than 255 char) on the click of a button in CRM Web UI.
I have declared an attribute zv_url type string and populated the variable in event handler.
Thereafter I have written below logic in .htm:

But the logic is not opening my URL, it is just opening a web window 'res://ieframe.dll/http_400.htm' with error page HTTP 400 Bad Request.
If I try to modify the variable zv_url in debugging with a short url say 'http://www.google.com', it works correcly but due to the length of url, the logic is opening error page.
Can you please help me out with this issue?

Does anyone know if there is a way to arrange songs on a playlist that has 100 songs? I used to be alble to double click and open a new page but that is no longer an option. Because you cant get a total view of the playlist it is almost impossible

This makes creating an order almnost impossible because you cn only see half of the songs

I use Yahoo as my home page. As soon as I left it, the screen was grabbed by something that took it to a page including "adap.tv" in the URL. Help!

I use current version of Firefox on a Windows XP desktop machine. I normally use Yahoo as my home page and Firefox as my browser. Starting a few weeks ago, when I clicked on a link on the main Yahoo page, I would get about one second of whatever it was I wanted to read or see then another screen that included "adap.tv" in the very long URL would replace it. Starting yesterday, this program began to override the security settings in Firefox that told it to NOT change the home page and I now get about one second of Yahoo before it switches to a page with "adap.tv" in the "URL". I have reloaded Firefox without success.

Slide in object as page moves up

Sorry Y'all... my first Muse site, I've done a lot of reading but can't figure this out.
I built a long one-page site with pictures text etc. When I click a menu button, the page moves up to the anchor point. Besides "Home" I have four menu buttons: Confidence, Character, Community & Contact. Everything works great.
Now I would like to slide in from Left or Right a circle object with text so that as the page is parking on "Confidence" the circle slides in over the picture.
Someone give me a heads up?

ITunes Version 11.0.4 (4) cannot handle long URLs

One of my iTunes playlists contains URLs of radio stations that stream music to my computer. This works fine, EXCEPT FOR ONE STATION that has a very long URL that will not fit in the one line that iTunes allows in its small editing window, so iTunes continues the URL (which iTunes calls Where:) to a second line, but then iTunes does not know how to handle this second line, and so the music from this station will not stream. I tried editing the URL by adding a backslash to the URL just at the line break, but this did not work either. If I put this long URL into my Safari or Firefox browser, the station streams perfectly to my computer. But this is awkward, and not satisfactory compared to iTunes which is wonderful when it works........ The URL is: http://socialstreamingplayer.crystalmedianetworks.com/radio/khfm
which iTunes breaks after radio/ so that khfm appears by itself on a second line and iTunes does not know how to handle this.
Is there a solution for this problem?

Unless I'm missing something, this is not a problem with iTunes. I can drag out the window so that the URL doesn't wrap but that still doesn't work. Going directly to the web site, the stream in question appears to be Flash-based and hence is not going to work in iTunes.

Movie does not fit preview window

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I cannot figure it out.
I made a short movie clip with my iPhone 5. Imported it into iMovie (it looks perfect when I preview it from the event library) and then dragged that clip to a new project. Then when I play the video from within the project, it has been heavily cropped, ie the movie does not fit in the preview window.
I have tried changing the aspect ratio of the project and this made no difference. I also change the setting File > Project Properties > Initial Video Placement to Fit in Frame.
Any help appreciated.

A lot of people who shoot video on the iPhone will hold the phone vertically oriented (portrait orientation). For shooting movies, you will get the best results when you rotate the phone 90 degrees to landscape orientation.
iMovie will always edit in landscape orientation (long side on top and bottom, short side on the sides) because this is the way TV screens work.

Page moves on loading

Begining to get a tad fustrated!!, I have a small site uploaded all works fine on my computer with IE and other browers but when I upload it only in IE I get the pages move on loading and I can't see what I have done wrong, any help appreciated.

I don't see any movement in IE7, IE8 or FF3.6. It could be a momentary flash of unstyled content (fouc) while the browser loads the stylesheet. But I have a fast connection so it's not noticeable at my end.
Other problems:
In IE6, the transparent PNGs are not supported so your banner image is white with white text and links. This could be a usability problem for some folks. Do a Google search for Transparent PNG fix.js
On the Contact page, your PNG photo is taking too long to load (247KB). Re-optimize to a JPEG, no more than 50K.

Too long url error when emailing thread with replies

There is apparently a bug in the "email thread with replies" feature.
I tried emailing myself this thread and it returned this error:
Request-URI Too Large

It's an web application made in Oracle ALBPM and which uses JSPs to entering data. The insert is made on the database object inside the ALBPM studio:

FROM TABLE
I was expeting to get a larger value in LENGTHB(FIELD), but the values are equal. I can only insert 2000 characters from the application, so, I was expecting a LENGTHB 2x greater than LENGTH(FIELD).

Tell your friend to go to bit.ly to create a 'short URL' for that address.
They can send you that & you shouldn't have to worry about the SMS or any other messaging size limitations.

I created a site column at the root of my site and I have publishing turned on. I selected the Hyperlink with formatting and constraints for publishing.
I went to my subsite and added the column. The request was to have "Open in new tab" for their hyperlinks. I was able to get the column to be added and yesterday we added items without a problem.
The problem arose when, today, a user told me that he could not edit the hyperlink. He has modify / delete permissions on this list.
He would edit the item, in a custom list, and click on the address "click to add a new hyperlink" and then he would get the error below after succesfully putting in the Selected URL (http://www.xxxxxx.com), Open
Link in New Window checkbox, the Display Text, and Tooltip:

The farm is running SharePoint 2010 SP2 Enterprise Edition August 2013 CU Mark 2, 14.0.7106.5002
and I saw in another post, below with someone who had a similar problem and the IISreset fixed it, as did this problem. I wonder if this is resolved in the latest updated CU of SharePoint, the April 2014 CU?

We had the same issue after applying the SP2 & August CU. we open the case with MSFT and get the same resolution as you mentioned.
I blog about this issue and having the office reference.
Later MSFT release the Hotfix for this on December 10, 2013 which i am 100% positive should be part of future CUs.
So if you apply the April CU then you will be fine.

Working here just fine. Try reinstalling:
Reinstalling Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
