Page number format

Hello,
I have a problem with page numbering format.
I need format mask "000001" in my report but I don't know how to make it.
How can I use <?fo:page-number?> for this purpose?
Thank you for your responses

Thank you for your response.  The Microsoft Office products, including Word, are fully up to date.  The problem is happening with all Word to pdf conversions (the only conversion used), including several documents that I update periodically and convert the updated version to pdf.  The problem happens with fresh, newly creaated Word documents as well.
I did not see Tools > Options > Print.  When I click on Tools in Acrobat 8, there is not an Option selection.  Didn't see a "Tools" heading in Word 2007 either or under "File > Print" or even in the Property menu of my printer.

  • Different page number formats

    I am writing a graduate level essay, and I need to have roman numeral page numbers on the first three pages, and then normal numbers after that. I have made section breaks, but this doesn't allow me to format the page numbers differently. When I click on one section to format the page numbers differently, it applies it to the entire document.

    Click in the second section of the document:
    Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration > uncheck Use Previous headers and footers
    Now you can format the numbers independently by right clicking on the page number and chosing the format in each section.

  • I am trying to change the page number format in a section of my document.  I want 2 sections to have 2 different page number formats.  How can I do this?

    I have 2 sections in my Pages document.  I am using Insert Auto Pages in footers to number my pages, but when I try to change the number format for one section it changes the format to the same as my change for the other section.  I want auto page number in each section but want each section's page numbers to have different formats. I have managed to get the auto page numbering to begin separately in each section, but just can't get the formats to be different.  There must be a way to do this.  Anyone know how?

  • Help needed- Reg: Display page number in SQL Reports

    Hi,
    I need to display page number in " page no: X of Y " format where X is current page & Y is total number of pages. Now I am able to display only the current page using ' sql.pno '. but not able to display in ' X of Y ' format.
    Any inputs in this regard will be helpful.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anilkumar.

    Hello Anil,
    If you have the above requirement for Oracle Reports then follow the steps:
    1.In the Paper Layout view or Paper Design view, choose InsertPage Number.
    2. In the Insert Page Number dialog box, choose from the list the location for the page number.
    3.Click the desired page number format: Page Number Only or Page Number and Total Pages.
    Cheers,

  • Outside in Viewer resets the page number to 1 always, even though the Word document has page numbering starting from different value.

    Hi All,
    I've a Word Document with page header having page number inserted.However the page numbers have been formatted to start from a value other than 1.
    E.g. For a given word document, navigate to "File -> Insert -> Page number-> format page number -> start at " and set the value to say "300". Now insert page numbers, so that the page numbering of the 1st page starts from 300.
    When this document is viewed using Outside-in Viewer, the page number of the 1st page always shows 1 instead of showing 300 (though this is not being reset/changed within the actual document)
    I'm using Outside in 8.1.9 SDK for the same. Is there an API to set the page number correct (exactly what has been set within the original document) while viewing...
    Alternatively confirm if this is a limitation within the Outside-in Viewer.
    Thanks,
    Badri

    You're going to need to open an SR to Outside In Support, Product ID 2276.
    Make sure you attach an example Word doc to the SR.

  • Initial-page-number not working in RTF format output

    A report has a parameter for the page number to start with. In rtf template below code is present
    <?initial-page-number:xdoxslt:ifelse(P_FIRST_PAGE_NUM!=’’,number(P_FIRST_PAGE_NUM),1)?>
    The report page number starts with the value which we pass in p_first_page_num in PDF format but in rtf format output it always starts with 1.
    Is initial-page-number not supported in RTF format output ? If not then what is the alternative?

    the method u followed is fine as need a page number staring from a specify value which u input.
    @section is only for resetting page number to 1 for every group and for that pdf and ppt will be fine but only for rtf u need to use that ( pressing F9).
    u can use @section and initial page number combined but they give u same output as get now. rtf output wont support it will only reset 1 every time
    What ever u do rtf output wont support initial page number code ..........
    i mentioned that F9 work around to mention that it is the only work around u have upto now to control rtf output with regards to page number.
    Guru's correct me if i am wrong. wait for a day or two if some one from guru's confirm it .
    If u need real confirmation raise an SR oracle will let u know .

    I'm having trouble formatting a book I'm writing using Pages. I need to put my name and book title in the upper left hand corner of EACH page- opposite the page number. How do I do this?

    And if this is the new IOS Pages v2 (or the older IOS Pages 1.7.2), you click the wrench icon and then Document Setup. Tap the document header to edit it, and apply the same instructions that I gave previously for OS X Pages v5.
    The process for Pages ’09 v4.3 is slightly different. You click the Header, and enter your document title and your name as previously described. You will need Menu > View > Show Ruler. Click once in the ruler at the first or second mark after the 7 inch (roughly 18cm). This will set a tab. Now position the insertion mark behind your title and tab once to the mark you set. Now you can Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers ...

  • Conditional formatting based on page number that resets on repeating frame

    Hello everyone,
    I have searched through multiple forums on multiple sites and haven't come across anyone who has accomplished this.
    I have a report with pages numbers that reset on a repeating frame.
    I have a text boiler plate that I want to only show up on page 1. On every occurrence of page 1.
    SRW.GET_PAGE_NUM does not work because it returns physical page number.
    I'm trying to access the value of the field for my page number. The value comes from "source" drop down with value of "Page Number".
    I've tried accessing the <&page number> in the PL/SQL of my conditional formatting trigger but no luck.
    This report is 14K plus pages so I'd rather not be inserting and selecting the value back out of the database.
    Does anyone have any ideas??
    Thanks,
    Alan

    To avoid inserting/selecting from the database
    Maybe you could create a small package on the database to store page numbering information.
    Then use get/set routines per your requirements.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE rep_page_no IS
       gPageNo NUMBER;
       PROCEDURE set_it(pPage NUMBER);
       FUNCTION get_it RETURN NUMBER;
    END rep_page_no;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY rep_page_no IS
       PROCEDURE set_it(pPage NUMBER) IS
       BEGIN
          gPageNo := pPage;
       END set_it;
       FUNCTION get_it RETURN NUMBER
       IS
       BEGIN
          RETURN(gPageNo);
       END get_it;
    END rep_page_no;Then in your repeating frame you could access this package rather than insert/select from any database table.
    Let me know if this works, I might like to try it.
    Thanks

  • Formatting for page number

    I use an iMac with System 10.3.9, and Appleworks 6.2.9. I frequently need the page format "Page X of Y" (For example, Page 1 of 3). Is there any way to set up this format so I can type it in with one key stroke?
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Sharon
    I'm assuming you want to put "Page x of y" in a header or footer. Actually, once you set this up it won't require any keystrokes.
    Start with a new, blank document & insert the header or footer from the Format menu. Type "Page" then [space]. Now, choose Insert Page #... from the Edit menu & leave "Page Number" selected. Type [space] of [space}. Insert Page #... again, but this time, choose "Document Page Count." You can select all of the text now in the header/footer, copy & paste it into the header/footer of any AppleWorks document & it will appear as intended without any more typing.
    Make any other changes such as margins, fonts, tabs, etc. that you want each time you create a new document with this header/footer & then Save As... a template giving the template a name. Don't change the default location & this template will then be available in Starting Points.
    Should you want all of your new documents to be in this format, save the template with the name AppleWorks WP Options. My user tip, New, blank documents with your settings, has more on creating default templates.

  • Reseting page number in Word RTF template for BI Publisher PDF generation

    Hi!
    Apex 4.0.2, Oracle 10.2.0.4, BIP 10.2
    Bills are created based on Word RTF file with BI Publisher. Reszulting file is one big PDF file, which has many pages.
    Word RTF template is grouped on BILLS.ID field with page break option. So one BILLS.ID may have one or many pages (according data).
    How to create RTF template (for PDF BI Publisher generation) with reseting page numbers when grouping value change.
    Page numbers are in footer in format
    curr_group_page/total_group_pages
    where:
    curr_group_page is current page number in group (defined with BILLS.ID field),
    total_group_pages is total page number of pages in group (defined with BILLS.ID field).
    I need to reset numbering whenever BILLS.ID (group) change.
    Example:
    ID=1 (4 pages)
    1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4
    ID=2 (1 pages)
    1/1
    ID=3 (2 pages)
    1/2, 2/2
    ID=4 (3 pages)
    1/3, 2/3, 3/3
    etc.
    How to achieve that kind of numbering?
    Any help appreciated.

    Simple question.. Does your posting deal with an APEX issue or a BI Publisher issue? The posting you have deals with the RTF add-on for Word that builds report layouts for BI Publisher. I suggested in my response that you move it to a more relevant forum..
    If you feel that me alerting you to the fact your are VIOLATING forum policy is an issue, please feel free to ask others their view.. (posting to a 3 year old closed thread, creating MULTIPLE threads for a single issue..) You do NOT seem to get the idea that posting this in the Bi Publisher support forum would probably get you a BETTER response than here.. Asking pl/sql questions here will also get people to refer your questions to the PL/Sql Support forum..
    Also, here is a POSSIBLE answer from the BI Publisher Forum: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=594805
    This Is The APEX SUPPORT forum, we deal with SUPPORT questions on APEX (Application Express)..

    You know, I used to think that it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? Page numbering
    Insert page numbers into your final report by using the page numbering methods of your word processing application. For example, if you are using Microsoft Word:
    1. From the Insert menu, select Page Numbers...
    2. Select the Position, Alignment, and Format as desired.

  • How to open-up a pdf file to a particular page via java? (file and page number from another program)

    I have created an Access 2003 Form. Data is entered. The data can be viewed once entered in the same form format, with one addition. The addition is a link to another program where we store files. The files stored are pdf documents. Each document is a scanned file (500+ pages). The link can open-up the pdf file. I want the link to open-up the pdf file to a particular page. I will supply the page number from the database.
    I am aware of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 PDF Open Parameters using a URL that specifies the file to be opened plus actions to be performed once the file is openend (i.e. http://example.org/doc.pdf#page=3). However, the 3rd party program transfers a file from a server to the client via java. The file does not go via a web browser. The java code transfer the file directly from the file server to the the client.
    Any idea how to accomplish the task of viewing a particular page with the process flow described?
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.

    So you are reading this file in a standalone version of Acrobat? If so then use the PDF Open Parameters /a option via the command line.
    Sabian
    Example:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe /A "zoom=1000=OpenActions" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
    Where:
    Path to Acrobat: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe
    Note: The example starts in the Acrobat application directory
    Switch: /A
    Parameter Syntax: "zoom=1000=OpenActions"
    Path to file: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
    Note: The quotes are very important for the syntax to work appropriately.

  • In Pages - How do I delete a page number from an imported Word doc?

    I was sent an email with a six page WORD document attached. The attachment opened in Pages. Most of it is good, but there are page number characters in the wrong place.  I cannot do anything to them. They seem to be outside the document text, off to the right side and only partially showing. Definitely not at the bottom where they should be seen. Going over them with the cursor does not allow me to select and delete these numbers.  I thought they might be in footnote format and in the Inspector I unchecked Header and Footnote, which did nothing to help.
    Also, I've tried without success to just go and add my own page numbers which might work, but then will need white-out or similar to remove the old page number.
    Working in Text and PDF format did not work, either, and I do not have Word.
    Unfortunately, I've spent hours on this and really hope somebody has a good suggestion on how to deal with these characters.
    Thanks

    Just to clarify, once you have done this you still need to use the command key and 'lasoo' the object from off the edge. So full process (in version '09 4.3) is
    Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable
    Then put your mouse to the edge of the page, press CMD key and drag to select the offending item. Then it will appear with a box around and can be deleted.
    Thanks to all who posted these tips - I was pulling my hair out over a client document!

  • How to link a value in a cell to a page number?

    I have a series of diagrams that I'd like to create a table for showing the page it's on, and a description of it. during creation, i an simply store the value of the page number in an array, and use it when creating the table, however, if the diagram is moved onto another page, then the cell shows the wrong page number, and the table loses meaning. Is there a way I can link the page number shown in the table cell with that of the page number it's currently on?

    Excellent thank you. While I was creating this sample code, I kept seeing an undefined destination text with either PB or OV shown in the cross references. This was because the textframe inside the frame that contains the image wasn't set to the same geometricBoundaries as the container frame!
    #target indesign
    var doc = app.documents.add();
    // add new page with image
    var page = doc.pages.add();
    var imageGraphic = page.place(File('image.jpg'));
    var imageFrame = imageGraphic[0].parent;
    imageFrame.geometricBounds = [0,0,100,100];
    imageFrame.fit(FitOptions.fillProportionally);
    // add text frame to imageframe for hyperlink dest
    var tf = imageFrame.textFrames.add();
    tf.contents = " ";    // insert blank text
    tf.geometricBounds = [0,0,100,100];     // THIS IS VITAL otherwise the destination becomes invalid for some reason
    var destination = tf.paragraphs.item(0);    // find text / char destination
    var destination = doc.hyperlinkTextDestinations.add(destination, {name:"foo"});    // hyperlinktextdestination reference
    var creditPage = doc.pages.add();
    var creditPageTF = creditPage.textFrames.add();
    creditPageTF.geometricBounds = [0,300, 100, 400];
    creditPageTF.contents = "...";
    var xRefForm = doc.crossReferenceFormats.item("Page Number");   // Default CS5 xref format that shows "Page 45" etc
    var sourceText = creditPageTF.paragraphs.item(0);
    var source = doc.crossReferenceSources.add(sourceText, xRefForm);
    var destination = doc.hyperlinkTextDestinations.item("foo");     // find text anchor by name from above
    var myLink = doc.hyperlinks.add(source, destination);
    myLink.visible = false;
    very confusingly, there seems to be two types of cross references for cs5, cross references for text, which are actually hyperlinks, and crossreferences for tocs i believe (which I know nothing about atm!)
