Page numbering- How can I start with a specific Page #?

I'm using Pages 09 (snow leopard, and Pages on my iPad IOS 4.3.5) and I'm trying to get pages to start numbering using specific numbers. For example lets say I'm editing chapter 3 of a book which starts on page 84. Chapter 3 is its own document and always starts numbering with page 1. I know I could make one large document by pasting all the chapters into a single doc, but I hate working on such large documents. Editing single chapters at a time is easier to navigate.
Is there anyway to get the page numbering to do this? I've tried all the options in the page set up and nothing seems to work. Pages always start with 1 at the begining of a document.

In Pages on your Mac you used the inspectors for most functions. You can change starting page numbers in the section tab of the layout inspector.

When using letter DIN5008-A how can i start on top of page 2?

Hello,
i use the draft letter DIN5008-A which comes with pages. On page 1 there is space for the adress of the recipient and so on.
on page to the pages starts 8 cm deeper because it has the same format like page one.
i would like to start on top page page 2. how i set this up?

Hi Peter,
set the margin to the top for all pages and on the first page use an empty Textbox or transparent Shape with Textwrap to push the starting text down.

When printing anything off the internet it shrinks the full page into one forth of the full page. How can i print using the enitre page?

Every time I use firefox I can't print full pages off the internet. I will find the page I want, for example, map quest. I push the print button and my printer prints the entire page in one forth of the space. The entire page I printed can be found in the upper left hand corner of the full page, just shrunk down to a fourth of its size. How can i get a full page printed from the internet?

I just loaded up Dropbox to check it out. When you are looking at your PDF in the Dropbox window, you can click the Action button in the upper right, (the box with the curved right arrow), and that gives you the option to Open In... iBooks. If you don't have iBooks yet, you can download it free from the App Store.
One it's in iBooks, you can search and go to pages with it. iBooks allows you to create "Collections" (folders), where you can sort your documents (books). Try it out.

The Pages iOS lacks a lot of features even now, so much for the vaunted compatibility between Pages 5 and iOS 7/8.
I figured you were not working on the iPad with a 100 page document. Toy is an accurate description of both the software and hardware.

On opening 2 browser Tabs are displayed doubling the infomation how can I start with only one browser Tab?

each time I access firefox 2 tabs are created each with the same information. To retrieve the information I must manually close the second tab else the info will not display properly. I am wondering is there something I can do to stop this from happening? It happens with direct open or from a link and if allready on a web page and open another via link 2 more Tabs are created it can become very crowded and hard to know which was first tab created. Try terminating and restarting the Mail app.
1. Press the Home button
2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
3. Touch and hold on the Mail icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
4. Touch the "-" to terminate Mail.
5. Restart Mail and see if the problem is corrected..

Terminology may help here:
a Numbers document contains sheets.
Sheets contain tables, graphs, graphic elements (lines, circles, text boxes, etc...)
If the area your work requires exceeds one page (as shown when you enable print view using the menu item "View > Show Print View") then Numbers will add pages as necessary.
Please post an image of your sheet if this does not address you question.

This is a very annoying thing. Every update from Firefox resets this config setting back to about:newtab. I changed '''''browser.newtab.url''''' in 12.x to '''''about:blank''''' and it resetted back in update 13.0 and now I have to do the same thing again in 13.0.1.
The drawback with about:newtab is Firefox opens up dataports for every URL that are linked and gets reopened for every lame 'newtab' you click on. Just use [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897437.aspx Tcpview - data port viewer] and watch how many extra dataports that opens up from this crazy 'feature'.

Your Windows system will not open any Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents. No applications exist for Windows that can open those formats. You will need to export your documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats, respectively, before you'll be able to view and edit the documents on your Windows system. The iWork documents can natively open Word, Excel and PP documents, though there are limitations on what can be imported (for instance, Numbers does not support all possible Excel functions). Consult the documentation for the relevant iWork application for details on importing and exporting.
If you are asking how to get the documents from one system to the other, then there are several ways to do that, including file sharing, using an external drive (hard drive, USB flash drive), or emailing the documents to yourself. Which would be best for your situation I can't say without more details about your usage.

Hi m,
Numbers does not have (nor has it ever had) page breaks or Set Print Area.
Numbers 3 has lost Print View and Layout View, so it is rather clunky to swap between File > Print (to see Print Preview) and your document.
You can, however, move tables to new sheets and print only those sheets that are relevant. For example, your main data table could be on one sheet (that you choose to not print) and a summary table with perhaps a chart on another sheet (that you do print).
