Page order (number)

Hello, I am creating PDF files of Autocad drawings to send off to a print service. Whenever we print the CAD drawing to PDF we use the same number as the page, simply 1, 2, 3, 4...etc. This works well for ordering the PDFs in a folder, but when actually merging all of the files into a large PDF file, say 135 pages) it orders them 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 24, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20...etc. This makes it very inconvenient to re-order them. I attempted to disable logical number ordering, but this didn't have any effect on the outcome.
I have seen somewhere that I may be able to use Java to put a script in to order my pages properly, but as of yet have had no luck on that route.
We have been using the page numbering system for a while and changing to something that would force the proper order into adobe would be rough on us as when we want to look at just page 4 of the drawing file in PDF we just open "4." It would be easier if we had a way for adobe to properly order them instead of us changing the way we name our PDF files into something that the "logical" numbering system puts in the correct order (1, 1.1, 1.2,1.3, etc) not even sure that would work for something with 135 pages.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • How to add an order number to each page of an adobe doc?

I have a customer that is requiring us to add their order number to every page of multipage documents we send them.  Right now we're using typewriter and pasting the order number to each page individually.  Is there an easy way to automate this process?  So that for each order number, we just type in the order number once and each page subsequently has the order number stamped on it.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
We are running both Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and 8.0.

Perfect.  That's exactly what I was looking for.
    Thanks a lot.

  • I purchased premiere elements 13. I followed the instructions. Loged into my account. Located my order number, but can not find the order detail page to download my product

I purchased premiere elements 13. I followed the instructions. Logged in to my account. Located mu order number but could not find the order detail page to click the download your product button. I was also asked to download the Akamai download manager which i don't understand why. Also It said that once the manager was installed the download would appear in the browser which it never did. So, I have no idea if it did download or not. Not sure what else I can try. Would love some help.

The Akamai download manager is used to download the software you purchased.  Try the download resources below.  The second one does not use the download manager.

  • I ordered the full creative cloud on sunday and received an order number but still can't open any of the programs. When i check the status of my order online, it says it can't find it. Is this normal after 3 days?

I ordered the full creative cloud on sunday and received an order number but still can't open any of the programs. When i check the status of my order online, it says it can't find it. Is this normal after 3 days? I tried asking in a chat window instead of the forum but no one answered and after about ten minutes my screen restarted and closed the chat window down. It seems a little frustrating not knowing what happened to my order and not being able to contact anyone. Is all this usual with Adobe or are they just having technical problems this week?

  • Want to check on an order but don't have the order number

I ordered a recovery disk yesterday.    Before I could write down the order number from the confirmation page I accidentaly clicked on something because I lost the page.    Course I got an email confirmation on the ac cord but I did not get an email verification on the recovery disk which I was hoping for.    Is there somewhere to check on orders without the order number or somewhere to contact HP for FREE to find out so I can check on this order.   I paid extra to receive the package the next day.   Thank you for any help!

You need to contact HP support not the HP user Forum about your recovery disk if you ordered them.

  • Saving as a PDF in print page order [not actual page order]?!?!

    Hiya,
I've got a 20 page newsletter, each page A4, all created in InDesign CS3 [nice and simple]. I want to print the document in print page order [as appose to actual page order] on our printer here at work, because it's clever and can fold and staple to create a book/newsletter etc! In InDesign, I can obviously use the 'print booklet' option to do just this, and it works great; all my pages are printed in the correct order, I can also choose to print 2-sided, all lovely. But I was wondering if there is an option somewhere to be able to save my InDesign doc as a PDF in print page order [front with back, page 2 with 19 etc] - as printing a PDF of my artwork seems to solve a problem i was having in the thread I posted up yesterday.
    Cheers guys

This is called "imposition". Does your OS and InDesign version come with the "Print as Booklet" option?
If not, you can enter this range into the page number "Range" box on exporting:
    20,1,2,19,18,3,4,17,16,5,6,15,14,7,8,13,12,9-11
(Typed from memory; -- please check)
If I then print this PDF to my HP with the options "double sided" and "2 pages per sheet", it comes out exactly the way it should.
(Waiting for the printer ... hold on.)
Well whaddoyouknow -- I got the numbering right first time. Perfect!

  • Page order when reading an Arabic PDF

    Hi everybody,
I need help with an issue I am having. When I view a book on the two -page scrolling view, the order of the pages is odd paged number is on the left and the even numbered page on the right.
When reading arabic, it is read from right to left, so this causes an issue if the smaller page number is on the left and the greater page number on the right since this would mean I have to read an arabic book which reads from right to left the same as an english book which reads from left to right.
My question is, whether I am able to change the page order of the two-page scrolling view so that the even paged numbers are on the left and the odd paged numbers on the right so it is easier to read an arabic book so it seems as if I am actually reading the book in its actual pageorder.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • I look up order number but nothing coming up!!

I looked up the order number, checked out as a guest, {removed per forum guidelines}, email is {removed per forum guidelines}. I did not recieve confirmation nor do i know the status of this order number.

    Hi jinesolomon,
Thanks for making a purchase with us on BestBuy.com! Ordering online should be quick and easy, and you should have full visibility to the status of the order. When I make a purchase online, I want to know exactly what’s going on with the order. With that said, it sounds like you haven’t received confirmation of your purchase, and I sincerely apologize for this!
I’ve reviewed the provided order number, and I’m happy to inform you that your item has shipped as of this morning. Since you checked out as a guest, the best route for checking the status of your order would be our Order Status page on BestBuy.com which can be found by clicking here.  You should also be able to obtain tracking information as well when you pull up your order via this link.
If you haven’t done so, I highly suggest creating an account on BestBuy.com for future purchases. This will allow you quick and easy visibility to the status of your orders, as well as a history of your orders should you ever need to refer back to one.
Please let us know if you have any other questions, and welcome to the forums!

  • Printing page order options: meanings? differences?

In the print dialog box, under page order, there are 3 options.
    Automatic (default)
    Normal
    Reverse
What is the meaning of Automatic?
If I am doing double sided large document printing on a non duplex printer I would first print the odd numbered pages in the Normal page order.
Next with the odd page stack back in the paper tray I would print the even pages in the Reverse order. This works for an even number of total pages, but not for an odd number of total pages, page 2 would end up on the back of page 3, not back of page one.
Will the Automatic page order option solve this problem by automatically inserting a blank page as the first page of the even side page printing when the total page count is odd?
Does this Q make any sense?

The "Automatic(default)" refers to what is specified in the printer's PPD file. That may be either page 1 first (usually Normal) or page 1 last (usually Reverse). It may vary from printer to printer or from driver to driver. For example, my Epson Stylus Photo 1280 will print page 1 first when I use the Epson drivers when I use Automatic. If I use the Gutenprint drivers, it will print the last page first if I use Automatic.
If you are doing a lot of manual duplex printing, you might want to take a look at CocoaBooklet _http://www.iconus.ch/fabien/products/cbeng/cbeng.html_. It can simplify matters greatly.

  • Lost order number

Ive lost my order number for a asus pb278q 27 inch monitor, which i also like to cancel, can you guys help me?

    Hello VictorGarza,
Whenever placing an online order with us, you should receive a confirmation email just a few minutes after the purchase is placed to provide you the online order number.  It sounds like this maybe didn’t happen though, so I apologize for the confusion this may have caused. We certainly don’t want to be shipping you an order you no longer wish to have, so I’d be happy to look into this on your behalf.
I attempted to locate your purchase using the information you supplied when registering for the forum. However, I’m unable to find your monitor order, so I’ve sent you a private message to gather some additional details from you. You may view it by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
    Thank you for posting,

  • Need order number for download

Lost all my files due to virus.  Now reinstalling.  I found purchase history and serial number for Acrobat that I purchased.  But I can't find order number or where to get download.

i'm not sure this is going to work, but it might.
if you have windows, go here, http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml
and see if you can install the acrobat 9 standard with your serial number.
    please post back your results.
you should follow the directions to enable downloading.  there are 7 steps and step 1 is crucial.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com
