Page orientation changes within a document

The document that I wish to produce is made up of portrait and landscape orientations within the one document. How do I manage this?

Hi gordo,
In Pages, landscape/portrait orientation applies to the whole document. However, you can rotate individual pages in Preview.

  • How can I use two different page orientations in the same document?

I am trying to have both portrait and landscape page orientations in the same document.  Pages doesn't seem to like this.  Is there a way?

I tried to comment on another thread about this same issue, but the thread was closed.
In the other thread; however, some asked why rotating one pages was necessary, and if they knew then maybe there would be reason to create the function.
Well, I don't know about why anyone else needs it, but for me it's for the papers I have to write for my masters program. The professors like to have the rubric attached to the bottome of the document so they easily grade and keep things organized. They of course give directions on how to easily change the orientation of the last page in Word, but not all of use Word, or even want to use Word. Maybe I need to ditch Pages and go to Word? I'd really hate to do that!
So, come on Apple, let's get this feature added, stat!

  • When Pages will support portrait and landscape page orientation in the same document?

When Pages will finnaly support portrait and landscape page orientation in the same document?

Only Apple would know, and it isn't telling.

  • Is is possible to combine multiple page orientations in a single document (Pages '09 v4.1)?

I'm trying to write a document with differing page orientations (landscape, portrait) for individual pages.  This has *LONG* been a feature in Word but I can't figure out how to do it in Pages '09.  What am I missing?

I did search and did find that answer in the forums.  However, using another application to manipulate the final product is not the solution in the native app that I am seeking.  I want to be able to have the editable document open and see the layout on the differing pages while writing.  I suppose you are correct and this is a personal opinion/desire for this feature.  However, I do not think it is too much to expect if Apple wants people to be convinced to use their iWork suite instead of MS Office.

  • Printing in Photoshop and Pages sets "change" bit in document

Is there any way to defeat the "change bit" being set in documents after printing? Even if I don't make any changes, EACH time I print (even the same print params), the change bit gets set in Photoshop CS3 and Apple Pages, and then I have to save the document again, or close the window and decline to save changes. VERY obnoxious. PRINTING does NOT change documents!
These apps Do NOT set the change bit on printing:
    Eudora
    AppleWorks
    GraphicConverter
    TextWrangler
    MS Excel 11.1
    MS Word 11.1
    TextEdit
    Xbench
Photoshop CS3 and (Apple) Pages DO exhibit this obnoxious behaviour after EVERY print, even if there are no changes or other actions (except Save) between printings. Every print causes the document to be changed for some reason. These are the ONLY apps which behave this way...
(These are all the apps that I ever print from...)

If the idea is to remember the printing setup in the doc itself, okay, maybe. But they should CHECK to see if the print setup is the same as before and NOT set the Change Bit.
They should also give you the option NOT to save the print setup in the doc itself.
Personally, I think all that should be done in Page Setup, the way it's been for more than 20 years. That is an explicit command to tell the doc what its print params should be. That's where this belongs, NOT in the Print command.
99.99% of people only have one printer, so Page Setup should do it all.

  • Page Orientation changes in 6.0 standard

My boss has a PDF file that is set up with a Portrait orientation, but would like it to print out Landscape.  I have 6.0 Standard, but use it very rarely.  I have changed every option I know of:  it all shows up as Landscape/Legal, but it continues to print out Portrait.  Can anyone share with me if it is possible to switch the print out orientation?
    Thanks,

Thus the reason i wont lead with RRM in my deployments, I do it the old fashion way ... STATIC power and channel.
I upgraded to .188 myself. I noticed out of the gate with RRM on the controller had all the APs at power 1 and only selected 5 channels and all the channels were set in DCA.
    Who knows..
    I dont like RRM..

  • Auto adjustment of page orientation causes printing issues with documents that have a page width greater than its page height.

    Hi,
Since an upgrade from Word 2003 to Word 2010, we are experiencing printing issues with certain
documents that have a page width greater than its page height.
In Word 2003, it was no problem to set the page width greater than the page height while setting the page orientation to "portrait".
In Word 2010, this seems impossible: despite leaving the page orientation to "portrait", if one changes the page width/height as stated,
Word 2010 automatically adjusts the orientation to "landscape". Resetting the orientation to "portrait" will flip the page's width/heigth settings.
This behaviour causes printing problems: the page prints out 90° rotated.
I do not believe this is a printer driver issue: I tried several different printer drivers, and all give the same (bad) result. Setting the printer driver's page orientation settings (before printing) makes no difference, as
Word 2010 seems to force the page orientation settings.
Inserting the documents 90° rotated is not an option, since it causes problems with the printing margins.
This is very annoying, since we have to print official documents of a municipality (driver's licences).
Is there a workaround for this issue?

  • Issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder located under a Document Library.

Hi, I am facing an issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) located under a Document Library (Product Information Documents).
    The path I am explaining:
Going to the Document Library (Product Information Documents) --> now inside that, clicking on a folder (Wet Seal Support
Systems) --> now inside the folder clicking on another sub-folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) --> Here I want the web page Safeunit.aspx
Issue is that when I reach to the required destination, and want to create the web page by clicking on 'Site Action' --> 'Create' --> 'Web Part Page', now while selecting the Document Library name from the drop-down list, I do use 'Product
Information Documents' since the folder is inside this library only; but that create the page directly under the 'Product Information Documents' library, not under the sub-folder (Safematic Seal
    Support Systems).
    FYI, it is SP2007 version.
Kindly assist in this. Thanks in advance.

I see that you have the namespaces reference in your code.
I think you have changed the NameSpace name of your code to CreateSPFolder, change the reference in all your manifest, and other files to point to the current namespace name. It should help.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to keep an image "in place" within a document using Pages?

Here's what I want solved. When I position an image (like a jPeg photo) within a document I take a great amount of care as to how it looks in the layout. BUT, if I add a new line of text ABOVE the image, all the text moves, but the image stays in place. When the text above moves down, any kind of "art direction" is lost.
Yes, I know there is a way to "LOCK" the image, but that doesn't solve this issue. The formatting still moves all the text and the image is stuck, LOCKED or UN-LOCKED.
I want to know if there is a way to KEEP THE IMAGE in place within the text. I want to be able to edit above the image and not have the headache of needing to move the image every single time I change something above it.
    Does this make sense?
I have to assume there is a way to do this, I just haven't figured it out.
    I am using Pages 09.
    thanks,
    Mike C

    (a little bit more)
This text below is from the Pages help menu, but (sadly) This does NOT solve my problems.
    Locking and Unlocking Floating Objects
You can lock floating objects to avoid inadvertently moving them as you work. Inline objects cannot be grouped or locked.
After you lock individual or grouped objects, you can’t move, delete, or modify them in any way until you unlock them. However, a locked object can be selected, copied, or duplicated; when you copy or duplicate a locked object, the new object is also locked.
    To lock a floating object:
Select the objects you want to lock, and then choose Arrange > Lock.
    To unlock a floating object:
Select the objects you want to unlock, and then choose Arrange > Unlock.

  • How to Auto Update non-TOC Page Numbers within a document (ie, 550pp)

Friends. Within a large Pages document that is dynamically changing, along with the total number of pages, the TOC (ie, Table of Contents) can be easily updated.
However, I want to point to specific content, and therefore the correct page number for the content, within the document and have that pointer (ie, a page number) *update automatically as the page numbers change*.
I need to repeat this about two dozen times for different references to make a 550 page document more reader-friendly by making it easier for readers to find the exact source or reference elsewhere in a document.
How do I do that within Pages '08 ?

    Hello
I'm not aware of such a feature.
If the document is designed to be read on a computer, you may use links.
Clicking on a link will bring you to the linked area.

  • How to change page orientation in Pages?

    Hi,
I would like to change page orientation for Just one page inside a document.
Say I have page 3 that I want to be landscape and not vertical, how can I do it?
I haven't been able to find this in Pages, I found it in Word though.
    Any idea?

The rotation in Preview is just a simple command in the .pdf. It all seems to sort itself out in printing, Acrobat has the occasional odd moment where pages are rotated from their real orientation. It is like the "cropping" in .pdf files which really doesn't cut anything off it just changes the bounding box so what you see appears to be cropped.

  • In the same document altering page orientation.

Hi, after doing some research on pages. All in the same document it does not seem to be possible to have the 1st page horizontally orientated and the second vertically and changing so forth. Is this possible, or do i have to treat each page as a seperate document.
    Many thanks

    joe,
Page orientation isn't determined from inside Pages -- it's set in the Page Setup dialog. And it's not possible to mix landscape and portrait modes in the same document. But some very clever users have figured out that you can select all the elements on a particular page, then go to the Metrics inspector and rotate the objects, creating the effect of having a page in landscape mode.

  • Change page orientation? CS5.1

Because having page orientation under Document Setup made too much sense, Adobe, apparently, moved it. I have a page in Landscape. I want to change it to Portrait.
Does anyone know how to do this basic thing?
    Thank you!

    Glad to help.
You can also simply double-click the Artboard Tool and then hit an oreientation button in teh Artboard Options dialog window.

  • Changing page orientation?

Is there a way to change the page orientation within the Reader?

There are two ways to answer your question.
    1. No, Reader can't change the orientation of a PDF file. That can only be done in the original program that created the PDF, or the page size could be changed in (paid) Adobe Acrobat.
    2. No, Reader can't change the display of a PDF. But if you have an iPad, you can change the display orientation of the PDF if you haven't locked that feature on the iPad. Go to Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: Lock Rotation (check). Then use the side switch on the iPad to allow display rotation.

How much of your code have you written so far?
Having a look at the vb code behind the scenes you need to set the wdOrientLandscape = 1.
