Page Thumbnails not displaying in Pages Panel

Hi all,
Hopefully a quick question...I've searched through the Forum and not spotted a similar issue.
I have a user who is experiencing an unusual issue in InDesign CS6 - Page Thumbnails aren't displaying in the Pages Panel (such that the panel is completely blank - no new page icon etc.), and Swatches aren't displaying in the Swatches Panel (default swatches or new swatches - the panel is completely blank).  I've checked all of the Panel Display options, and have toggled the thumbnail display size up/down, and on/off to no avail.  This problem is also non-document specific, it's happening on all documents either previously saved or freshly created.  I've also tried multiple workspaces and that hasn't helped.
I've also tried binning the preferences  and this hasn't helped...
Any thoughts where to start?  My hunch is possibly plugins not working/missing, but I'm not sure what/where to check.
Any help would be very much appreciated...
Al

I hate to have to bump an old topic, but replacing my prefs doesn't work either. Tried restarting the computer too. Nothing really works and I hate to have to waste time reinstalling when I doubt that would help at this point. (hates windows).

  • Preview App not displaying all pages

    I am finding under Mavericks Preview App is not displaying all pages of some pdf's.
    If you turn on thumbnails you can see and select all the pages but it's not possible to scroll down through all the pages.  Weird and annoying...

    First, before you do anything else at all, make a copy of your file as a backup. You said "Book" but I'm thinking you mean in one file, not a combined file InDesign Book (.indb) project.
    Now you need to test to see if this is a program problem or a file problem.
    Are the pages still there? Can you choose them from the navigation box in the lower left corner of the document window?
    Is this happening with any other documents? If you export this file to .inx (Interchange format) then open that, do the pages display properly?
    If it's happening in other docs, or if .inx doesn't solve the problem, look at how to replace your application preferences here: Adobe InDesign CS4 * Setting preferences

  • JSP error page does not displayed on its own, includes in the original JSP

    Problem Description: - Exceptions in a Condition cause pages to fail to render.
    The actual issue is, the JSP error page does not displayed on its own, included in the original JSP Page when exception occurs.
    Problem Cause: As per the JSP specification when jsp content reached the buffer size (default 8KB) the page being flushed (Part of condent displays). The default autoFlush value is true.
    When the page buffer value is default size (8KB), and if any exception occurs after flushing the part of the content, instead of redirecting into error page, the error page content included in the original page.
    If i specify autoFlush="false" and with default buffer size, at the runtime if the buffer size is reached, i am getting stackoverflow error.
    To solve the above problem we can make it autoFlush=false and buffer=100KB. But we cant predict the actual size of the page.
    I found in one of the weblogic forum as no solution for this issue. Ref.
    http://support.bea.com/application?namespace=askbea&origin=ask_bea_answer.jsp&event=link.view_answer_page_clfydoc&answerpage=solution&page=wls/S-10309.htm
    Please provide me any solution to resolve the problem.

    Error-Page tags work best with an error.html pages. If you have an error.jsp page what I would do, and I have, is wrap my classes and jsp pages in a try catch block where you forward to the error jsp page and display anything you want. YOu can also do this with if else statements. I have used the tomcat error pages before but when I've implemented them I used java.lang.Exception as the error to catch not Throwable. I don't know if this would make a difference or have anything to do with your problem.

  • Print Problem - PDF is OK on Windows 7, but OK on Windows XP with "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."

    I have received a PDF which prints fine in Windows 7 but with Windows XP I get "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." and a blank piece of paper passes through the printer. I appreciate that Windows XP is no longer supported but I would like to think that the solution to this problem is not too difficult!
    I have tried Acrobat 9, 10 and 11.
    Any advice (apart from use Windows 7! ) would be most welcome.
    Many thanks.

    If you use the same Adobe Reader versions with the same PDF on Windows 7 and XP, then I would expect the outcome to be the same.
    Is this a local or online PDF?
    If local, is the file really exactly the same?
    If online, in what browser?

  • Error in Acrobat 8: An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly...?

    Hi,
    We perform the e-signing on any PDF using our custom e-signature plug-in. Once that's done, when we try re-opening the PDF in Acrobat version 8.0.0.0, we get the following error:-
    "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem"
    Please note that this error occurs intermittently and is NOT observed in Acrobat 7 or 9.  Also, when a plain PDF is opened (i.e. a PDF without any signature on it) then there is NO error.
    Could you let me know what could be the issue here? I read it in Acrobat 8.1.3 release notes that such an error was a known bug in version 8.0.0.0 (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407016.html), but I am not sure of its cause.
    Let me know your comments/suggestions.
    Thanks!

    I am getting the same error even in Acrobat version 8.1.3.
    Additionally, I noticed that if we click on menu ‘Advanced->Sign&Certify->Preview Document’, then we get a notification as “This document is not PDF/SigQ compliant and may display inconsistently”. On clicking  ‘View report’ on that notification, the below dialog pops up. It has errors listed as:-
    Code 4000 : Unrecognized PDF content. The document contains PDF content or custom content not supported by the current version of Acrobat.
    Code 4002: PDF content contains erros.
    However, if we sign the PDF using default adobe signature functionality and reopen that PDF, the error does NOT come and the notification also says ‘This document is PDF/SigQ compliant’.
    Can anybody please suggest what could be missing in the custom sign that we apply? Is it because of any of the missing fonts or any other resources?
    Awaiting reply!
    Regards.

  • CmcApp home.faces page will not display.

    We have just completed (?) the installation of BOJ 3.1 XI SP 3 and the BOJ SAP integration kit SP 3. The installation is on SQL Server 2008 and SAP Netweaver 7.01 SP 7.
    Each time after logging in the the CmcApp page using Administrator and the Enterprise authentication, the next page does not display. In IE8 a download window opens. In IE7 and Firefox the garbage is displayed. I have seen this thread: Re: CmcApp bug on BOE 3.1 using SAP WAS 7.0 and set *.faces to NEVER COMPRESS without any success. The thread just list is still marked as unanswered after a year.

    Hi,
    As per my knowledge, we need to do some changes in the application server configurations, in your case it is SAP Netweaver 7.01 SP 7 when BOE is deployed to the SAP NW Java server.
    Try the below steps and do verify once again whether it resolves the issue:
    1.     Launch the Visual Administrator tool.
    2.     Connect to the SAP J2EE Engine by clicking Connect -> Login, select the appropriate connection, and click on the Connect button. Enter the password and click on the Connect button.
    3.     Navigate to the HTTP Provider service by going to the Cluster tab, expanding Server, expanding Services, and clicking on HTTP Provider.
    4.     On the right side of the screen, click on the Properties tab.
    5.     Click on the AlwaysCompressed key. At the bottom of the screen in the Value field, remove "text/html" (without the quotes). Click on Update.
    6.     Click on the NeverCompressed key. At the bottom of the screen in the Value field, add "text/html" (without the quotes). Click on Update.
    7.     At the top of the screen, click on the Save Properties button.
    8.     Restart the NetWeaver server.

    All below start fine without any errors:

    Hi Salmmer,
    Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.
    Look into these code, it seem some javascript code. You could try IE options->scurity->custom level->Reset or compare the setting with Others' IE view the content has no problem.
    If this is a development issue in the web page, you may need to consult to the writer of this web page.

  • Page is not displaying correctly on mobile

    Hey. Can anyone help me to see why my page is not displaying correctly on mobile.

    The page displays correctly on a desktop.
    On mobile there is a right margin that I do not want there. All of my other mobile pages seem to be working just fine. How do I fix this? Thanks

  • Notification Detail Page is not displaying

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement of creating a read only workflow admin responsibility. For that I have followed the below steps.
    1. Set 'Workflow Administrator Web Applications' as the Workflow Administrator from administration tab.
    2. Create a grant with the below details.
    Grantee Type: All Users
    Responsibility: Workflow Administrator Web (New)
    Object: Workflow Items
    Data Context Type: All Rows
    Permission Set: Business workflow item permission set
    I have done this for viewing the workflow owned by all users and followed the ID 1328447.1 for doing this.
    Now everything is working fine, but Notification Detail page is not displaying. It is loading for a long time and
    giving the errors, ('The connection was reset' in Mozilla and 'Page Cannot be Displayed' in IE).
    Notification detail page will come when I remove this Grant, but it will display only the workflows owned by
    that particular user. So this grant is a mandatory component for me.
    The issue is there even for the admin responsibility(Workflow Administrator Web Applications) when assigning
    this grant.
    Can anyone help me on this to resolve this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Charls

    Same problem in Firefox.
    Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Frameshifts from Page Mill not displayed same way in DW CS5.5

    I currently have a very large website that I created about 13 years ago with Adobe Page Mill, and have been maintaining ever since with Page Mill.  The site has about 1,121 pages plus 277 images – about 221 MB altogether.  There are lots of inter-page links and links to other websites.
    My home page has a frameset consisting of one full-width top frame, with two column frames below.  In Dreamweaver CS5.5’s Live View and Firefox preview, it looks fine, and all hotlinks seem to be  working.  But in Design display, the lower right frame has shifted to just below the lower left frame, but on the right side.
    I hope I don’t have to completely remake this page (and others with similar framesets).  Is there any way to bring that lower right frame up alongside the lower left frame in the Design view, so it looks more like it’s supposed to?
    Larry

    Tried to shift to Adobe's *InDesign* several years ago
    But that's a print graphics app and wouldn't help you at all with web development.
    The site is very popular with teachers (getting 3k to 6k hits
    every month, with lots of positive feedback, no mention of problems with the
    site.
    Nobody would ever know that the ranking system you have there will not work at all.  It does nothing.  There is no form to submit.  You click the button and nothing gets submitted.
    But I am about to train a teacher colleague about the site and how to
    maintain it so we can share the management of the site.  For this, I felt I
    needed to bite the bullet and learn Dreamweaver, which meant getting a new
    Intel-based iMac.
    What you need to learn is *NOT* DW, it's HTML and CSS.  With a fair understanding of that, you can teach yourself DW in a long weekend.  But for sure, if you are going to try to teach someone else how to maintain the site, you'd better make sure that the code is right, otherwise it'll break constantly and will drive you and your colleague nuts.  I'd say the code status at the moment is "dreadfully close to unacceptable".
    You mentioned that my Home page is not framed.  Page Mill called this a page
    with a frameset – a set of three frames.  Apparently they are called
    something else (or not recognized as such) by the current HTML.  What ARE
    those things that look like frames?
    HTML tables.
    Actually, I was incorrect.  The pages
    with framesets are mostly the index pages, like this one:
    http://www.indiana.edu/~ensiweb/evol.fs.html
    Yes - that's a frameset allright - and it's straight out of the crypt!
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
      <META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="Adobe PageMill 3.0 Mac">
      <TITLE>ENSI/SENSI Lesson List: Evolution</TITLE>

    <FRAME SRC="evol.f.html" NAME="main.fr.html" MARGINWIDTH=2 MARGINHEIGHT=2>
    <NOFRAMES>

    Viewing this page requires a browser capable of displaying frames.
    </BODY>
    </NOFRAMES>
    </FRAMESET>
    </HTML>
    (eww - I feel so dirty)
    You asked me if I wanted to see it we can fix it.  I definitely do want to
    bring it up to date, but with the size of the site, it sounds very daunting.
    First of all, are there short cuts that could hasten the process?  Would it
    be possible to transfer content to a CSS format?  The fact that there are so
    many links between different pages makes me think that the job would take
    huge amounts of time.  This is not a money-making site for me – I just
    maintain it for the love of sharing good stuff with teachers.  So would
    there be a charge for helping me through this process?  Or would it better
    to pay a professional to do this, and if so, what would it cost me?  I’m
    happy to see the repaired Home page – but how long did it  take to do this?
    Would links still work (with the page back in the site folder with all the
    other pages and images)?  Is there some sort of program that does this kind
    of “repair work?”  Or does it require going into the code and performing
    corrective surgery manually?  One thing I never bothered with was making
    graphic “buttons” for navigation purposes – so I’d like to include them with
    the revised version.
    * It will be daunting.
    * There are NO shortcuts.
    * It will be possible to transfer the content to a CSS layout - one page at a time.
    * I would have to charge for helping you with this.  But we could negotiate the charge offline.
    * Hiring a professional would be the best idea yet.
    * It took me about 30 minutes to figure out what was wrong with your home page, and then to fix it.  Having done that once, similar pages would go faster.
    * Links would still work - I didn't touch them.
    * There is no such program for "repair work" - corrective surgery is best performed by building a NEW, stable page, and cutting and pasting content into it.
    * Graphic buttons are not necessary - CSS styled text is perfectly adequate.
    I really appreciate your help in this!
    I like what you are doing!

  • Screen briefly flashes white but does not display the page when the Safari icon or other icons are tapped.

    A problem has just started with my IPAD Air after 3 months of use.
    If I try to open Safari by tapping on the icon the screen  briefly flashes white but does not display the page.
    Similarly if I try to open Settings page, Mail page, Calendar or Clock the screen just briefly flashes but the Apps do not run.
    Some of the Apps do work on tapping the icon e.g. Maps, iBooks, Appstore, iTunes, Newstand etc.
    I do have some website links which display when the icon is tapped e.g. John Lewis but some links do not work.
    I have ensured that the ipad is fully charged,  powered it off an on again, and cleaned the screen with a lint free cloth  but the
    same problem keeps occurring.

    I saume you used a second display at one time, otherwise the Display settings wouldn't be treating your primary display as a secondary.
    IF you open your System Preferences>Displays (-System Preferences) and click "Gather Windows" it should pull everything to the display on which you clicked it.
