Page Titles & Photo Captions - help?

CAn anyone help? I am needing to add captions to the photos on hte site I built with iWeb and can't work out how to do this. I think they are also known as Alt-Tags.
Also, I have been trying to add page titles, the words that appear in the blue line across the top of Internet Explorer, for example, but can't do that either. At the moment it only displays what my page is called, e.g. Welcome. When I have tried to change it, it seems to also change the headings of the pages in my navigation link which I don't want to do.
If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful! I'm a bit of a novice so easy explanations are best. I'm using iWeb version 1.1.2 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!!

Just ran across a free application, iWeb SEO Tool, that is supposed to be able to write those tags to the images before you publish. You can download it here: http://www.ragesw.com/products/iweb-seo-tool.html. It also advertises that it can optimize a site before uploading. Haven't tried it yet.

  • Title photos of web galleries are not changeable?

    Dear everybody,
I've been trying to change the "title photo" of some of my web galleries - that is the picture a viewer sees first when entering the gallery overview. Simply putting the desired picture in first place via iphoto doesn't do the job. Do you think it is necessary to create a new gallery each time I want to change the title photo?
    Help and ideas appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.
    Keywan

Open iPhoto's preferences and go to the Web Gallery section. There you can change the overall name of the Web Gallery Title that is seen online.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photo Titles and Captions on Ipad Mini 3

I want to add titles and captions to my photos on my new Ipad Mini 3 - just like you can do in iPhoto on a mac desktop, though I understand this has been discontinued for the ipad mini. It seems quite absurd that I can't name and file my photos properly in the main photos app (beyond selecting to put into albums) - has anyone found a good solution, add-on or way around this? I'm an iPad newbie so the answer may be obvious! Thanks for your help guys.

Hi, Yes you can add captions, edit and add titles.  Just go to the app store and type in the search box what you are looking for.  Example Photo captions, photo collage or what ever you are looking for.  You will then see what apps are available to buy.  Have Fun!

  • Help with Page Titles. please!

I have recently uploaded our website using Dreamweaver and am
a fairly new convert to this program having changed over from
'Frontpage'. My problem is that the title of the page is not
showing in the browser. All that is showing is 'Untitled Document'.
I have followed all of the instructions in relation to
adding/changing the page title to the letter but have not been able
    to correct it. Please help.

It appears that you only have a single frameset file on that
    site. That
being the case, you are done.

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?   Also try publishing the site to a folder on your hard drive and use the free FTP client  Cyberduck to upload your site.  It's been known to work when iWeb's ftp client has failed.

  • How do I link Photo Title and Photo Caption in iPhoto Book

When using the yearbook template in iPhoto I have found that the Title is not linked to the photo Captions are linked most of the time, so if I move a photo I have to reset all the titles. How can I link them?

    hi Jim,
Are the titles that are not moving ones that you gave the photos while you were in the book mode?
I was just wondering if you gave the titles to the photos in the library view if it would work differently.
Ok, I just tested it. Before you make the book, give all the photos the correct titles and comments if any. Now highlight that album and choose to create a book. The titles and comments will move with the images this way.
I also tested an image that was already placed in the book and it had a title that it was imported as. I changed the title in the library view, went back to the book and moved the photo. The title that I just gave it in the library view moved with the photo.

  • Photo captions in iWeb

    Greetings,
I'm just creating my first site using iWeb but I am having trouble with photo captions. I am using a blank template and inserting photos into the text with a wrap round. that's fine. However, I can't work out how to put captions under the photos. I've tried using a text box but it won't drag up close to the photo, because  some of the handles remain white and the text on the page moves away from the box so it looks bad. . I've searched through help but can't find an answer there.
If anyone has any thoughts I'd be grateful

Your problem is that you cannot follow instructions even when they are spelled out.
The instruction is not to DROP an image on the textbox, the instruction is to PASTE the image in the textbox.
    UPDATE:
    Here s a picture.
    1. A picture
    2. The picture in the textbox with a caption.
    3. The picture in the textbox with a caption inside a textbox with your text wrapped around it.

  • Lightroom 5.0 on Windows 7 - Photo Caption problem in Book Module

Using Lightroom 5.0 on Windows 7, I have produced a 76 page book in the Book Module with multiple photos on most pages, but two photos were not showing their captions, and did not print same in a proof PDF print run. I had the photo captions in the Meta Data, but have subsequently entered the pertinent photo caption via Custom Text from the left control panel, and also directly into the photo caption print box without success. I have changed the photo size, without a successful outcome, but when I did an auto cell fill of the photo the caption appeared within the photo, but disappeared when sizing was reduced back. I have exhausted all help avenues at this stage.

Thanks for your input and efforts to assist. I have resisted removing and replacing, as the 1966 passport photo has a lengthy (approx 60) adjustments showing in the history, as a result of its age. Hence I think that I will just have tolerate these somewhat minor, I suppose, aberrations and just send it off to Blurb as is, as restoring so many old photos to a more presentable print status has taken me 3 months as it is.
I don't understand why this a problem. You are removing a page from the book and adding back again. You are not removing the photo from the catalog, therefore you would not loose you are adjustments. Books are just another way of rendering photos.

  • What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption etc?

What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption, crator, sublocation , label etc?  Where & how is the information used?  Where does it appear?

Keywording is primarily for your own use for finding photos fast.
Title, Caption, etc are also for your own use but can be used by your clients or your stock company if you do not <Minimize Embedded Metadata> on export. Keywords are also included on export but are hardly of any use to others - unless you follow a standard for keywording.
You have the option of selecting title, caption, etc to appear in a Slide Show, on Print, or on a webpage created with LR.
If you go to the LR Help menu and type "title", or "caption" in the search box you will find plenty of advice for this.

  • Photo captions via Bridge?

My second inDesign project is a catalog with lots of photos, but not a photo for every item.  I watched the Bridge training video and it looked like I could add a headline or description in Metadata that would import as a photo caption when I placed a photo.  Did I misunderstand?  I keep editing metadata and dragging photos into my ID document from Bridge - photo goes correctly - but no caption.  Since it is very easy to mis-identify these catalog photos, this little piece of automation would be a great help, if anyone can tell me how to make it work.
    Thanks in advance.

I stumbled on this after a lot of (unscuccessful) searching for an answer. Finally, found a solution after fiddling around with Bridge itself:
    1. In Bridge, click on Metadata (at the top), and then in the IPT Core panel at left, click on the edit icon (pencil) next to Title. You can then add titles for each picture, or multi-select pictures and add the same title for the selected group of pictures. Note: You MUST do this in the Title, not under Description or any similar parameters.
    2. After titling (captioning) the pictures, click on Output (at top) and under Image Info, check the Caption box. In the dropdown, select Title. (This is why you needed to select Title in the first step and not Description which is not offered as a choice in the dropdown).
    3. Create your Gallery as you normally would, and you will see the captions appear in your web output.
    Hope this helps!

  • Searching 'Title' and 'Caption' metadata

I've searched a bit on this and am not getting anywhere. The issue I am having is when I apply content to the Title and Caption fields of metadata, they are not searcheable. Meaning, when I use the 'Find' section on the sidebar, it doesn't locate images that I have confirmed have the content I am searching for. I've made sure that when using 'Find,' I have all 'Anywhere' selected for 'Text' and 'Contains Any' for 'Rule.' Also, 'All Dates' is selected for 'Date.'
I can't help but think I am missing something amazingly simple.
    Thanks in advance.

jimburgess, John O'Connor, DonRicklin...thanks for the help. Although I thought I had made extremely sure that I had no other filters in place to skew my metadata search results, I must have missed something. Although I can't remember exactly what it was that made my search start working, I believe it was related to both apply "cmd-L" to start fresh and then looking under the 'Folders' panel to see matching photos as some of you had recommended.
    Really appreciate the help.

  • Page titling

i refer to the page title at the very top of the browser or what appears in a tab or bookmark.
i created a site using BeBop theme, published to folder.
i have many of the typical pages in my site; however, none but the Welcome page displays the/ANY title (it displays the site title: Southwest Florida Blues Society)... when i go to any other page, such as Calendar, Music, Photos, Forum... all page, tab, and bookmark titles are blank.
    help?

Well Ted, I have just looked at your site in Safari, FF3, IE7, IE6 and IE5.5 and your page titles all appear. The only one that doesn't work properly is the calendar. Check the title for that page again in Inspector otherwise the only other way to change the title is to publish to a folder and then open up the individual pages in a HTML editor and in the <head> section of each page is a <Title> tag </Title> which contains the (obviously) page title. Change the wording between those tags before you publish.
The one for calendar just says 'OBJ'.
