Many screen page up or page down shortcut or scroll bar missing

oh now i know what you mean mate.
well, there is no specific way to do it, a scroll bar does appear on the side faintly as you scroll your way up or down. The only way that you can move back to the first app in yoru application list quickly is by tapping the Search button on the left side (the magnifying glass), and that will revert you back to the first app.

ok, I found the keyboard viewer, it only shows the traditional symbol 'return'. something like a sideway u-turn continued with the arrow under. This is the Canadian or US keyboard.

Safari's "Email this page" keyboard shortcut opens second Mail.app

First of all, neither the Safari toolbar button nor the File > Share > Email this page work at all. Both do nothing. Quitting Safari & Mail has no effect.
HOWEVER
The keyboard shortcut (command + shift + I) does work, but it opens another instance of Mail.app. There is only one version on my mac.
Any thoughts on that? I can't seem to find anybody else with such wierd behavior.

Try resetting the LaunchServices database.
Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Copy or drag — don't type — the text below into the Terminal window:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain user
That's all one line, though it will scroll on this page. Triple-click anywhere in the text to select it all.
Press return. Log out, then log back in.

Fit to Page Keyboard Shortcut?

I'm really missing the Cntrl+0 keyboard Shortcut for "Fit Page" in Acrobat. Can't it be reimplemented?
After we upgraded from Acrobat 8 (I believe) to 9 it disappeared, or rather changed to an incremental "Zoom In".
I've now upgraded to Acrobat X and hoped it would be back but it isn't.
All the other CS Suite (ID, AI and PS) use Cntrl+0 for fit to page and it's one of those shortcuts that's embedded in your dailyworkflow. Why take it away from Acrobat?

Okay, this is getting interesting. The same thing is happening in ID. With ID I can at least change the Shortcuts. I know this ID Bug was also in my CS4. Funny thing is that was decided to be a localization problem - it was a German version. Now I've updated / returned to English, but it's still there.

Pages. Shortcut for "send PDF by email"

I created a shortcut for this command, but only works if I open the "print" window and the "PDF" menu on it, so it is not useful, how can I make a shorcut that works in any place or moment in Pages?

I linked a shortcut to
menu > Share > Send by Mail > PDF
To do that I selected PDF in the prefPane Keyboard > Shortcuts > Pages
I used cmd + ctrl + shift + P
I retrieved it active after quitting Pages.

'Pages' keyboard shortcut

In the application 'Pages' The keyboard shortcut: Shift+Alt+Cmd+T to set a range as Placeholder Text is not working. I tried it several times.
I really use this command a lot. It would be nice to speed up my work by using the shortcut instead of the mouse.

Navigating pages with shortcuts

Hi,
Hope you're doing well.
I am doing some training on Indesign and just learned that you can move to the first page by doing command + shift + up arrow (?) to get up to the first page, shift + down arrow to go to the next pg, etc.
However, whenever I try these shortcuts nothing happens. Should I not be using the arrow keys but something else? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Since I now see that you are on a laptop it may not be of help. I take it you don't have "pageup" and "pagedown" keys?
But if PageUp and PageDown are the default keys, it may be that you will have to assign something yourself. Where did you get the idea that the shortcut for next page was Shift-DownArrow? What does your shortcuts panel say?

e.g. you use your oracle terminal and define:
KEY-F0 = Ctrl-0
KEY-F1 = Ctrl-1
KEY-F2 = Ctrl-2
After that you can use the forms-trigger KEY-F0 to -F9.
In the trigger you hardcode e.g.
KEY-F1 : go_item (<Item of first tab>)
KEY-F2 : go_item (<Item of second tab>)

Home page safari shortcut fails to play music when minimized

I made a homepage shortcut to safari (music.google.com) which stops playing music when minimized. If I launch safari directly and navigate to music.google.com music continues to play when minimized. Symptoms are identical IOS5 & IOS5.01. Any suggestions?

I accessed the GarageBand site and not being sure how one would play an audio loop there, I clicked the little green arrow next to "Rational Eyes" near the top. This put up a little black window that said "MP3 Player (GarageBand.com)" with a line of text that said "Report problems by clicking the 'HELP' button above.", but there was no help button other than the item on the tool bar of the site window. There was no sound.

You can add a blank page using Adobe Acrobat DC by following the below instructions :-
1) Open your existing pdf document in Acrobat DC.
2) Choose the 'Organize Page' option form the Tools pane on the right as shown below in the screen shoot.
3) Now at the top you will see all the tools to Organize the page, Click on 'Insert' & select 'Blank Page' from the drop-down to insert blank pages.
*Shortcut : If you are using windows computer you can use ' Shift+Ctrl+T ' key to insert blank pages.

How can I get just my home page to come up when Firefox starts. I don't want to see all the pages for my extensions plus the "Welcome to Firefox Page." I have 5 pages open every time that I don't want.

This happens each and every time Firefox opens, whether there is a new update or not. I currently have these extensions disabled until I can resolve this issue.

Open Firefox preferences/options. On the General tab you can specify what Firefox should do when it starts. I would guess that you have "Show my windows and tabs from last time" selected. Select "Show my home page" and set your home page in the text box.

[SOLVED] Page Up and Page Down keys no longer working correctly

I use KDE 4.12.2
For some reason - applications in KDE are no longer responding to the PgUp and PgDown keys.
For example previously in firefox PgUp/PgDown would scroll the current web page up or down, but now it doesn't work.
Firefox DOES change tabd using CTRL + PgUp/CTRL + PgDown as previously.
Another example Okular ignores PgUp/PgDown - although (again) it does respond to CTRL + PgUp/CTRL + PgDown.
Previously it responded with the correct move one page up and down.
If I go to a terminal
showkey
keycode 28 release

keycode 109 press
keycode 109 release
# PgUp
keycode 104 press
keycode 104 release
If I try to set a keyboard sortcut in a KDE app (e.g. change the Previous / Next page keyboard shortcut in Okular) the app recognises the PgUp and PgDown keys, but the application doesn;t respond.
I've also tried a different keyboard and I get the same behaviour.
I'm completely baffled, any help?

From what I understand - they would have to be global keyboard shortcuts. I've looked in the KDE system settings anmd there are no global shortcuts defined for PgUp and PgDown. I certainly haven't configured anythin to use them.
I'm not sure if there is anywhere else to look for them.
EDIT: So after about an hour or so of poking around, it seems I DID set shortcuts for PgUp/PgDown (and promptyl forgot about them.)
These set global shortcuts that aren't recognised by the KDE system settings shortcuts applet.

How do you retain links within a page when converting from Microsoft word from a Mac?

Keeping Microsoft Word page links within a document or converting the filed map into bookmarks are not options when you work on a Mac. I subscribe to the Adobe Acrobat Plus service specifically to address that issue. But I can't find any documentation on this site that will walk one through the process. Can someone please direct me to a tutorial page that will allow me to keep my links and convert my bookmarks?

Have you tried using Safari's built-in method to email the content of a web page?
File > Mail Contents of This Page

If you don't want to email the entire page's content, you can easily edit it in the resulting email window, deleting the portions that you don't want.

Some buttons and shortcuts are not working on my 5...

The numberpad and the contact list buttons are not working on the home page
The shortcuts disappeared on the home page, it's just 4 blank icons now
I can press the buttons, but nothing will open.....

You can force a reset by turning off your device.
Depress call+end+camera buttons while powering on. Depress keys untill youre past the nokia hand shake logo screen and get prompt for pin, language/regin selection.
This is known as the hard reset and will wipe your phonememory just as the soft reset (*#7370#).
