Pages '08 freezes when I go to print

Whenever I go to print from pages '08, the program freezes. I get the "spinning beach ball of death" and the print dialogue box never opens. I use force quit and it says that pages isn't responding. This issue just came up today; before, I could print successfully. What happened?

Since it's a new problem, the likely cause is a corrupted preference file. And each time you force quit, there might be just a little bit more. Go to HD > Users (your account) > Library > Preferences & move the com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist to the Trash, empty the Trash & restart Pages.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Iphoto freezes when I try to print a picture

Why does iPhoto freeze when I try to print a photo? I have to force the program closed.

That was a test to determine if the original library was damaged and it was. You did follow the next step but there's one more fix you can try on your damaged library:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Pages keeps freezing when I launch a template.

Try quitting Pages and deleting the following file: youraccount > library > preferences > com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist. Restart Pages and see if that helps.

Wrong page numer (1) when the numer of printed page is 2 using group

I use crystal XI to print a document (facture) from a program.
When the number of printed lines (details) is the max number is possible to print , the number of page (PageNumber) is wrong because the printed page is 2 (the second page is only a line of notes inserted in a group section).
For the sotfware society of the program the problem is the printer driver but i have tested with more then one driver and the error is the same.
what's the problem?

If the page number is in the page header, and the page header prints on each page, then I cant see what the problem is.
Perhaps it is a printer error. Try a different printer and see if it happens.
If a different printer is the same, try putting the page number in different areas of your report.
If still no change, create a new test report and see if it happens there.

Pages shuts down when I try to print since i upgraded to Mavericks

I upgraded last week, now when I try to print out of Pages, Keynote, Safari, the programs shut down. I'm printing over a network to a Konica Bizhub C203. All other programs print no problem, its only the 3 mac ones that will not print. Anyone else having this issue? Any known fixes?

Printing: computer freezing when I try and print a PDF

I used to be able to print a PDF but suddenly the whole printer freezes as soon as the printer comes up.

Let's see what we can figure out. We'll need to get some basic information from you to figure out where there problem lies:
Are you having trouble with a specific PDF file, or with any PDF that you try to print?
Are you on Mac OS or Windows (and what version)?
Are you printing from Reader or Acrobat (again, what version)?
Are you printing directly to the printer, or over WiFi/network?
Are you able to print from other applications?
I look forward to hearing back from you. We'll see what we can do to get to the bottom of this printing issue.

Numbers (v. 3.5.2) is freezing when I try to print the second sheet of my spreadsheet

I have a spreadsheet that I am trying to print. I print the first sheet fine but when I try to print the second sheet, even though I can see the document and print dialogue it won't let me click on anything, click done to exit printing or do anything in the document I made.
Even when I restart my computer, it just opens the spreadsheet up to the print dialogue and it is frozen. Any help?

Has anyone else experienced the freeze when you go to the Command P screen?
The only thing I'm able to do is Force Quit as Safari doesn't even show up as "not responding." I've had this problem only since I've been running 10.4.8
Any suggestions for a fix?

Adobe indesign CC on mac X 10.7.5 - freeze when package file for print

Has anyone else had this problem or can suggest a solution?
When I have a file in indesign ready to print i go to package it and it get to the little loading bar and freezes indefinitely. No package and i have to force quit. Real pain!

Pages app freezes when trying to open .doc file

Hello everyone!
Recently I faced the problem with opening .doc files originally created in Word for Windows in Pages. If the .doc file contains any table, Pages app constantly freezes trying to open it so I have to Force quit it. It happened with few documents containing tables. If the .doc file contains no tables everything works OK.
I've tried to open files created in Word 2003 and 2007 for Windows. My iWork's version is 4.0.3 (766).
Can anyone help me please?

Welcome to the forum.
Try altering the format/ing of the original file and see what may be the cause. e.g. Try saving to .rtf.
Check if there are unsupported features in the Word tables, such as rotated text in cells or a rotated page. Essentially look for variances that could trigger the problem.
Also look for alternatives to Pages:

Pages is not a full substitute for MsWord despite what Apple suggests, implies, hints, intimates, signals, presupposes, infers, signals, says indirectly, gives you to understand… but doesn't actually say if you read the fine print.

Why does my computer freeze when I try and print a pdf?

I have a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit. It seemed that suddenly i developed this problem when trying to print a pdf file with Adobe X. Everything would look like it was going fine, but when the print download screen popped up, it would not download the pdf file and my computer froze. I have to manually shut down my computer to unfreeze it. I have tried to print using an earlier version of Adobe (Adobe 9), tried a different printer, tried printing as an image, or print as a file. Nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had a similar problem after upgrading to Windows 7. The problem seemed to be that there was a dialog box that opened
that was not visible on the screen and it was blocking the print completion. Try this. Open the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences and clear the field "Rely on system fonts only, do not use document fonts." When I did that it solved my problem.
The unseen dialog box seems to be the fault of Windows 7, in my opinion.

I can not close firefox unless i click on "home" 1st. also it freezes when i try to print or edit bookmarks,ect... Anyone know how to fix?

It runs ok but when i go to a page "like msn.com or facebook.com,ect..." I can not close or minimaze the browser to allow me to close i need to click the "home" button then i can close firefox.

Scstat freeze when it try to print the ipmp configuration

the scstat freeze at the point of showing the ipmp configuration, and when i want to create a ressource LogicalHostname (VIP), the command freeze, and i see anything into the log file....
