Pages 09 & new pages 5.2

Many times I try to open a document made in Pages 09 and I am unable to do so. The warning states update to new pages.... which I did some months ago.
This is proving to be a real pain. I have both icons in my dock and dare not get rid of Pages 09 as I have this issue....normally macs just seamlessly morphed such updates but now I have 2 versions of pages....
Any suggestions please

Actually I didn't say I was going to delete 9 - and I had a much simpler answer on another forum.
Here it is:

Exit Pages ’09, before attempting to double-click a Pages v5.2.2 document. The highest version of an installed application will be the default application launched when using double-click. Take that under consideration, should you double-click a Pages '09 document, and not really intend for it to be opened by Pages v5.2.2.
I created the following custom tags in Finder > Preferences > Tags, that keep the Pages ’09 and v5.2.2 documents discretely identifiable (and searchable in the FInder):
Blue tag with name Pages ’09
Yellow tag with name Pages 5
So if I want to use 9 i make sure I have 9 open and 5 closed - and double click docs that are marked as 9

Safari Issue - No Thumbnails of Web Pages + New Page problem

The icon next to the Bookmarks icon is not active. It does not respond to anything. So I can't get access to the thumbnail view of websites. And I can't open a new page. Surfing via one page is possible.
I've tried shutting down safari by double-tapping the home button and holding the icon until the " - " appears. Then touch the ' - '.
I've also done a soft reset by pressing the home and power buttons for ten seconds until the apple is displayed. The ipad to restarted and I rechecked Safari but no luck.
I've also cleared the History, Cookies, and Cache in Settings/ Safari. Still no luck.
If anyone can help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Update: Noticed that the 'thumbnail view of webpages' can be activated when the iPad is in a vertical position (it's also possible to view the thumbnails horizontally when in 'thumbnail webpage view mode'). But it can not be activated when the iPad is in a horizontal position. So I have to turn the iPad to a vertical state in order to open a new page. This may be how it is supposed to work, but to me, that seems odd. :-) So I'd be happy, if anyone could tell me how to make the 'thumbnail view of webpages' possible when the iPad is in a horizontal position. Triggering NEW-PAGE in the SAPSCRIPT

Hi All,
In the SAPSCRIPT for purchase order, in the last page i need to print terms and conditions. For this i have created third page(in MEDRCUK there are two pages) and i am trying to check the following condition.
IF &sapscript-formpages& = &page&
NEW-PAGE THIRD
ENDIF.
But the condition never becoming true. Can somebody tell me how to achieve this.

Hi Max,
Thanx for your ur reply. I have tried with IF &NEXTPAGE& = '0' also, now also it is not working. In debug mode i checked the value of &NEXTPAGE&, only when the control leaves main window that time its value becoming ZERO. Actually in the last element of the main window the condition is written.

Contribute 6.5 on Maverick Bug? (can't update news page)

Adobe - is there a bug with Contribute 6.5 on Apple Maverick ?
I use 6.5 to update my web page news page - but since the Maverick update I can no longer 'post a draft page'.
Contribute 6.5 opens and its downloads a darft of the news page in Contribute 6.5 here on my laptop - I make alterations updates and then submit the new content but this is as far as it goes (contribute says its saved the draft but its like the page is a ghost and the original news page remains as it is untouched).
I did contact Adobe before Christmas re this subject - but there has been no follow up.
Any ideas?

Use a Custom Page Layout When Creating [[new pages]] in Enterprise Wiki

I have followed a few different blogs and I've been able to create a custom wiki content type and create a new page layout based off of that content type. I've also set my site so that my new layout is the default page layout. This works when creating
new pages on the site but when i try to create a new wiki page --> [[new page]], I'm still getting the typical blank wiki template. How on earth do i get my page layout to sync with creating a new wiki page?

For your issue, go to Site Actions > Site Settings > Page layouts and site templates (Under Look and Feel).
Pages in this site can only use the following layouts: add custom wiki template.
Select default page layout: choose custom wiki template.

Needed: Sum of LineCount Including Groups and Detail Data On Each Page Used To Generate New Page If TotalPageLineCount > 28
Background:
1) Report SQL is created with unions to have detail lines continue on a page, until it reaches page footer or report footer, rather than using subreports.    A subreport report is now essentially a group1a, group1b, etc. (containing column headers and other data within the the report    with their respective detail lines). I had multiple subreports and each subreport became one union.
Created and tested, already:
1) I have calculated @TotalLineForEachOfTheSameGroup, now I need to sum of the individual same group totals to get the total line count on a page.
Issue:
1) I need this to create break on a certain line before, it dribbles in to a pre-printed area.
Other Ideas Appreciated:
1) Groups/detail lines break inconveniently(dribble) into the pre-printed area, looking for alternatives for above situation.

Open Jasper Report in new page using servlet

Guys,
Looks very simple but i am having problem making this process work. I am using 11.1.1.4
This is my use case:
- From a employee page, user clicks on a menu item to open report for current employee. I need to pass appropriate report parameters to servlet and open report into new page.
I can successfully call servlet using commandmenuitem and set request parameters and call servlet from backing bean.... but that doesn't open report in a new page.... any way i can do this?
Another option i tried was that using gomenuitem and setting target=blank but in that case i need to pass the parameter using servlet url which i like to avoid.(in case i need to pass many parameters in future) (also values will be set on page so i need to generate url when then click the menuitem...... so there are some hoops and loops i need to go through) I don't know a way to pass the request parameter using backing bean to servlet... i don't think it is possible.
Those are the two approaches i tried.
If you have any better approach...I would appreciate if you can let me know. (i have searched on internet for two days now.... for the solution)

How do I move page order in Thumbnails view in the new pages? (which is driving me nuts btw)

I'm really struggling with the new pages, having used the old version so much I just can't get the hang of this one - so much has changed:( Really wish I hadn't bothered but now have too many documents created in it that I can't open on old version as it doesn't let you (mump mump - well I am scottish).
So in the old version I used thumbnail view to move about the order of the pages (really useful when making up artwork for magazines etc). Anyone know how to do it on the new version?
Also can't seem to view document in '2 up' - 2 pages side by side (also very handy for magazines etc).
Also the tables facility doesn't let you move borders of individual cells - you can only move the whole column - I can't even select them.
I could go on but will go before I start the 'pages shake'.

Scottish or not, your best option is to retreat to the last good version of the app, Pages '09.

while creating a new page it is showing me a dump error , that the superior program execption was not intercepted , i have even given the next page field also correctly, i have attached a mainwindow to that page and a text element to that . .

It was very simple to do in the previou version of pages.

I'm not sure why people are torturing themselves with Pages 5 given the nearly universal outcry on this forum and the incredibly negative reviews elswhere, such as the App Store.
Pages 4.3 should still be in an iWorks folder within your Applications folder. Just use that.

Paragraphs seem to only be dealt with in styles, and the Formatting window for text doesn't seem to have the space after paragraph contrtol that the older Inspector had. What am I missing?

Side panel >Text > Style > Spacing > Turn the triangle > Before Paragraph/After Paragraph/

ok, I found the keyboard viewer, it only shows the traditional symbol 'return'. something like a sideway u-turn continued with the arrow under. This is the Canadian or US keyboard.

I lost my bookmark list where the dropdown doesnt work. Same goes for the webpage address tab where it just does not save. When I try to bookmark a new page after clicking "Bookmark this page", there was no response too. Can someone please help me???

It was still functioning last night and before I close the firefox window, the problem started. The problem persist until now.
1. Bookmark - tried to check the "help" list for lost bookmark but none of them seems to suit the problem i'm facing. The menu tab is there, but when i click on "Bookmarks", my previous bookmark list is not there. When I try to bookmark a new page, there is no window popping up (usually there is a small window pop-up to ask for the label of the website to be bookmarked).
2. The website address tab - usually we have a list of website that we usually visit so we just need to click on the arrow and click on the webpage that we want to visit. But now, I have to type the website address every single time. There is no drop down when i click on the arrow.
Can someone tell me what is wrong with it and please help me to solve this problem. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Blank page is getting displayed in SAPScript when using NEW-PAGE option.

Hello Experts,
We have created a customized SAPScript and in this separate Script is generated based on the currency(WAERS).
So if we have 3 different currencies, then 3 pages will be created with there details, but we are using NEW-PAGE option in
MAIN window to separate the pages and after 3rd page it is displaying 4th page also with footer details.
So how can we avoid last blank page which is getting displayed?

This issue can be solved by two ways. Please take the one which suits you better.
Solution 1: If you need to generate separate prints for different currencies.
In the driver program, build an internal table for different currencies which needed to be printed. (Using delete adjacent duplicates, build the internal table with exact number of currencies to be printed). Remove the NEW-PAGE option and call the script/form inside the loop. Do the necessary conditions to manipulate the print.
Advantages of above solution: Better control on spools if needed.
Solution 2: Get the count of the number of pages in a variable. Inside the print loop, increment a flag counter. Check it against the variable which contains the number of pages to be printed at the end of each page. Exit the loop when the number of pages to be printed is reached.
Advantage of above solution: Simple to write the program.

How do i layer text boxes in the new pages?

I have the new pages, and every time i try to layer a text boxes, one text box disappears. How do i change that?

Please give the exact version number of Pages, it helps when sorting out problems.
The Textbox doesn't disappear.
The text in the Textbox is pushed away by the Textwrap on the other Textbox/es.
Generally, with the Textbox/es selected:
Toolbar > Format > Arrange > Text Wrap > None

Sharepoint 2013 WIKI change new page content

After surfing throught a lot of tutorials talking about how to create content templates, Master Templates and everything else in Older versions of Sharepoint, I can't modify the default content on a new Entreprise Wiki page. All I want is
when someone create a new page the Template text come!
Why you make it so dificult? Why not a Simple button "Make this new Page Template".
Please tell me if it's possible where can I edit the default Blank text for new Wiki Pages.

If someone is struggling with the Templates like me, you can workaround it using Reusable Content.
Edit Wiki Page -> Insert -> Reusable Content -> More Choices -> Open List -> New Item / Edit Items
You can create Templates here for detailed Wiki parts .
Be carefull when creating new Content, there is a option for read only / editable Content.
