Pages 5.2.2 keeps installing

Hello!
Over the weekend I downloaded the latest update for iWork to my 2009 iMac and 2010 MacBook Air. For some reason every time I turn on my iMac and try to open Pages it takes me to the App Store. When I go to the Applications list I see Pages installing. This has happened every morning for the past three days and it usually takes 30-45 minutes for Pages to "install." Afterwards, it works fine. I don't have the same problem on my MacBook Air. I do share the files on Dropbox, I'm not sure if that should make a difference. I also noted the same issue with Numbers and Keynote on my iMac. My iMac is currently running iOS 10.9.4.

Okay, sorted it out myself. This may be relevant to all issues with Pages 5.2 with crashing on opening. In the /Library folder, hidden by default, there is a containers folder. When I compared the com.apple.iWork.Pages file residing there between my MBA and iMac, there was a discrepancy in size of the file, 6.4 Mb compared to 90.1 Mb (iMac). When I dragged this file from the containers folder on my iMac and restarted Pages a new file was created, of 213 Kb and all is now well in the land of Pages 5.2 (except its still a crippled version of Pages 4.3!!).

Is it possible for automator to convert all word documents in my dropbox folder to apple's "pages" on iCloud and keep the same folder organization? I am a teacher and want to switch from using microsoft office on my macbook pro to using pages/number/keynote. I am hoping to get an iPad next year and go "paperless" with lesson plans and gradebooks and I heard that pages/numbers/keynote are great on the ipad. I'd like to write an automator script (workflow?) to convert all my documents in dropbox to pages and have them stored on iCloud, then be able to access the files on my macbook pro and ipad. Thanks!

Create an AppleID under different email addresses for each family member at http://appleid.apple.com
If they don't already have their own email address just setup a free one with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or whoever you prefer.
Then on each device sign into iMessage with the users own AppleID in:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Tap AppleID at top > Sign Out, then sign back in again with the correct AppleID.

Photoshop keeps installing in the wrong language!

I am based in Germany and have a window 8 machine with Creative Cloud Photoshop and Lightroom membership. Lightroom has installed correctly in English, however for some reason Photoshop keeps installing in German. I have gone into the creative cloud panel and selected English and reinstalled Photoshop however it still in German!! HELP!! Various actions are therefore not working!! I look forward to hearing back from you.

Why does Firefox keep installing Miro with every new update ?

Some months ago I downloaded Miro, although I never made much use of it.After the recent Firefox update to 3.6.4 I noticed that used memory suddenly jumped by around 20 % and when I investigated in Resource Monitor I found that Miro had started running 2 processes in the background which were consuming considerable resources. I also found that my address bar had been hijacked by a change in the keyword:URlL setting. None of these problems had come up prior to the 3.6.4 update. I uninstalled Miro, restored my keyword setting,and successfully killed it's processes. I used Revo uninstaller pro and I am certain that nothing was left behind. But after the next Firefox update to 3.6.6 I noticed a sudden jump in memory usage and then discovered that Miro had re-installed and had begun running the same 2 processes. I have now gone to considerable time and trouble to deal with this problem twice in one week and I would appreciate an explanation as to why Miro is re-installing every time i update Firefox.

Itunes v 11.1.5 keeps installing over and over

When I install itunes v 11.1.5 it goes through ok, the program works but I keep getting the apple software update asking if its ok to install the same version. I have said yes about five times and it keeps installing it over and over. How do I check the version on my itunes and how do I stop this update for the same version I supposedly already have?

Assuming you have iPhoto 9 (11) give this a try: make a temporary, backup copy of the library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Since only one option can be run at a time start with #3 followed by #4 and #1 as needed.
3 - try adding a page after each fix.

OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X Heres the link if anyone else had the same problem!! This is if you deleted not only the Mac App Store, but iTunes, Calendar, whatever came with the Mac (Apps that came already installed on the Mac), if you deleted one of those then you have to reinstall the Mac OS, Note: This one is for Mac OS X (Maverick) my version is 10.9.4, go to that link and follow the instructions if you have Mac OS X (Maverick). Other help: Common Mistake: If you delete the app from the dock then just go to finder and applications folder and drag the app back onto the dock(it was just deleted from the dock NOT your system/computer). Hope that helps others who had the same problem.

I have Pages 09' and I have installed/updated to Pages 5.1 (when my computer initially asked if I wanted to update) - Now I can't open any of my older documents? Prior to this, I would open documents and it would be the 09' version. Then I would open documents and it would ask to be updated to the new version, even though it looked like the new version anyway. I would say yes, and that would be the end of it. So when I try to open up a document, it asks me to go to the ap store and update to the new version of pages, so when I go to the ap store, it says it's already installed/updated. What do it do?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

The Mac App Store (MAS) can see MAS apps installed on other partitions and drives connected to your Mac. If you are see the the MAS thinks your apps are installed then that is likely what is occurring. So rither copy the apps from the drive or partition to your Mac or disconnect the drive where they are installed to redownload them form the MAS again.
