Pages documents without EndNote are fine, but using the Apple EndNote plugin after 2-3 pages with a few references typing gets extremely laggy (up to 1s per character) and seems to get worse as the document gets larger.
EndNote is 3rd party, but the plugin is developed by Apple and they direct us to Apple support.
I'm interested in seeing if anyone else using Pages 5.2 and Endnote 7.1 is experiencing anything similar? At the moment support from EndNote on this issue has not been very forthcoming.

Definitely, it's like everytime you press a key it's analysing what you are typing. I'm not sure if it is some more advanced feature which could be disabled (there were hits on something similar happening with Word on MacOSX but the tips provided to work-around this didn't apply to Pages, see here - http://community.thomsonreuters.com/t5/EndNote-General/EN-X6-is-slow-as-molasses /m-p/58770#M10513).
FYI on the different sections, I can say my experience is similar, however not as bad. For me it seemed to get worse the longer the document got. Reproducing it I could easily see from around the 2-3 page with some dummy references the lag was apparent and after 3-4 pages it got even worse.
Mine is just a college essay, barely 10 pages with around 2-5 references per page, but by the time I got to the end the lag was driving me insane. It's incredibly distracting typing out a sentance and then waiting 5-10s for it to 'appear'.
I did notice for example that when I inserted a page break at the start, and edited the title page (with no citations) that there was zero lag, but then on other pages which had no citations (abstract) there was still lag. I also found it seemed to especially kick in when spell-checking or attempting to auto-correct words, it would change a slightly incorrect word to something complete garbage (and I think this is part of whatever EndNote is doing I never noticed the Pages spellchecker to be so dysfunctional before).
Well, we'll see how TR goes. I'm not quite sure if they are actually fixing the issue or just trying to fob me off, I've asked some more direct questions to try and get an indication of if they have actually identified the issue or not. I found it so easy to reproduce without (what I think) any 'custom' thing on my laptop being an issue that hopefully they were able to reproduce just as easily and can investigate a fix.
Here's hoping they find a fix before I have to write another essay :-)
I will update if TR comes back with anything concrete.
And in the mean time if anyone else is facing this same issue please let us know :-)

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

How do I enter a full citation with the endnote plugin in the footnote of a Pages 09 document?

There weren't any with Pages 5!
In fact most users didn't even know the automatic upgrade had happened until their work was ruined. Without warning and synching the bad copy over every copy thanks to iCloud.

btw That program that doesn't exist, does exist. It is Pages '09, and it is no handicap that it actually works.

Is there a way to uninstall the Endnote plugin without uninstalling Pages?

You might be able to uninstall the security update with the pkgutil Terminal command.
back everything up just in case.
boot into safe made - have a copy of the combo update handy.
open terminal.app, at the prompt:
pkgutil --pkgs #this will give you a list of installed packages.
find the package you want to uninstall.
example: "com.apple.pkg.update.security.2008.002"
Highlight it and copy it.
to remove:
sudo pkgutil --forget "package-id"
example: sudo pkgutil --forget com.apple.pkg.update.security.2008.002
This will Discard all receipt data about package-id,
but will not touch the installed files. DO NOT use this
command from an installer package script to fix broken package design.
OBTW - if you have time machine backup prior to the update, you could restore the files using TM.
You can get the list of files that need replacing from the "pkgutil --files package-id" command.
If you run the "pkgutil --forget package-id" command first though, you will no longer be able to get the list.
Reinstall the combo update.
Most likely the troublesome files will be overwritten by the combo update.
The "--unlink" command will remove the package entirely (files and package receipt), but you might break your installation. It's not something you would want to try unless you are an very advanced user.

What are you considering non responsive with the plugins? Flash player is working just fine then I get your crash page in the middle of doing something. You say it only crashes when it's been unresponsive for 45 seconds. Mine is crashing in less then 1

I have had problems with firefox crashing for the last three month. I have updated to the latest version with the crash protection. Now the flash player crashes about every 20 minutes or so. On your blog page you state that I will get the crash page when the plugin has been non-responsive for 45 seconds well with mine the games are going along just fine then wham crash page. Flash player was responding and you gave me crash report anyway. What's up???? Flash player is crashing within seconds not 45 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your check plugin page always states that my plugins are UP TO DATE!!!!!

New wiki page: KDevelop 4 with plugins

I was recently looking for information about trying KDevelop 4 for PHP development, but there has been precious lack of information about doing this since full PHP support requires a separate plugin. There are, in fact, several interesting plugins that one may want to build. To support aspiring KDevelop 4 users I have created a wiki page for KDevelop 4 that explains how to build and install these plugins.
So far I have added instructions for installing KDevelop 4 nightly svn builds from the sjakub Arch repo and installing the php plugin from the KDE svn repo. I have also created a generic section describing how other plugins may be built using the same process, but I have not actually tested these plugins.
This wiki page could do with some additions from people who are developing in other languages and have successfully installed other plugins.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a new form for creating a wiki page in SharePoint.
The form for creating wiki pages is CreateWebpage.aspx, and I recommend to do the steps below:
Creating custom “CreateWebpage.aspx” and overriding the Code behind for creating the wiki pages based on the custom “wkpastd.aspx.
Creating custom content type(with the columns you need) inheriting from OOB wiki document content type.
Attaching the custom content type and detaching the OOB wiki content type from the wiki pages library.

To add citations you have to buy EndNotes from http://endnote.com/. The endnote plugin you get from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1334 but it is only for those who bought Pages from the MacAppStore

In the past I was able to bypass the message by editing the Info.plist file and updating the MaxBundleVersion variable, but not so this time around. As of today the developer seems to indicate there's no immediate fix becuase of how Safari 5.1 handles multiprocess page rendering. Probably best to stay tuned to Mike's website for now.

Adobe Exchange Plugin Slowing Down Photoshop CC?

Recently, Photoshop CC has been running really slow, and slowing down my computer as a whole. I've been trying to trouble shoot what was causing this, because it wasn't doing this previously. I believe I've narrowed it down to two things - Too many styles loaded in my Styles panel at once (my custom Styles file was over 200mb, because I added a lot of styles that had high res images embedded in them), and for some reason, the Adobe Exchange plugin also seems to be causing a problem.
When I change my styles back to the default styles it helps speed thigns up, but Photoshop still doesn't start performing normally again until I remove the Adobe Exchange plugin. Anyone else having issues with this plugin eating up a lot of memory and slowing things down?

So that we can work out whether this is a problem with Extension Manager or Adobe Exchange, can you try closing Photoshop CC, then downloading the Adobe Exchange Panel (ZXP) from www.adobeexchange.com, then installing the ZXP file directly in Extension Manager without Photoshop CC open?
If this does not work, can you confirm whether other ZXP files can be successfully installed via Extension Manager?

Uninstall SIMBL as follows. Back up all data before making any changes.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Why is my BT wifi with fon so slow? Normally it works ok and is fast but then it suddenly starts to drag and nothing ever loads, the connection always dropping and it says "Limited Access" with a little yellow triangle. This happens mainly in evenings and afternoons.

Its most likely because whoever owns the broadband connection, is using it a lot. They get priority over any BT Wifi connection, so you will get a very slow connection, or one which drops.

You will need a pdf reader to read pdf files There are a few but the free reader from Adobe is normally used. The Adobe Acrobat reader also comes with a plugin allowing it to open the pdf files in firefox. ( I note from your system details that you already have that. )
Do you also have Abobe Acrobat itself installed and working ?
( the plugin itself is not sufficient)

Cannot edit bibliography created with Endnote

I am trying out the Pages 09/Endnote feature. I find that I cannot edit the Bib that was created by Endnote as I was entering the citations. When I click on the Bib the whole thing is highlighted. A double click results in bringing up the manage citations window in Endnote. The Bib format that my school uses is difficult to reproduce solely within Endnote, so if this is going to work I need to be able to do a manual edit at the end. Any suggestions, or is this not happening for others?

Try highlighting the bibliography that was created by EndNote. Copy and paste it into a new Pages document. You will get a notice that "This bibliography was created in a different document. The bibliography will be pasted as text and won’t automatically update."
The bibliography can then be edited and pasted back to the original as text. You will not recreate a bibliography with EndNote.
I converted by PhD dissertation from Word to Pages'09 due to the new integration with EndNote. I have been very pleased with the result. Pages has its own quirks that I needed to learn, but it has a much more predictable approach to inserting tables and graphics.

HTTP redirection with Auth Plugin

Hi Guys,
I am relatively new to the FMS World, so bear with me if this is a silly question.
I have an external service which tells me that a particular stream for a customer cannot be allowed and I need to redirect the URL to some http:// page.
This happens in the E_PLAY Event on the auth plugin. My question is, can the auth plugin redirect the entire page to another HTTP page? I know that with the auth plugin you can rewrite the stream name so that another stream is played, but not sure if it is capable of redirecting the entire page.
If the auth plugin by cannot redirect by itself, will the serverside actionscript be able to do so? I can pass the http:// URL to the server side action script via the notify event.
Please suggest the best way to do this. I am using FMS 3.0

That is odd. It worked for me. Can you paste your entries that are dealing with weblogic? This includes your <IfModule> tag.
So, when you try to hit the url, you get a 404 from Apache?

For performance purposes, we want to separate static content from our web application. We deploy a pipo.ear with a pipo.war file inside for Weblogic and we unjar the war file in a '/pipo' directory in the HTTP server document Root.
To redirect JSP files there are no problems. The problems occur with servlets. We decided to register all our servlets in web.xml with a 'servlets/' prefixe so that Apache should redirect requests with it.
All our HTTP requests became :
http://www.myweb.com/pipo/servlets/myServlet
The problem is that ISAPI plug-in never proxy servlet requests to Weblogic. It only works when '/servlets' prefixe is placed just behind the domain name such as http://www.myweb.com/servlets/* and never with http://www.myWeb.com/*/servlets/*.
I hope it's just a problem of configuration with Apache. I've already tried :

Well, then I would just put in the object/embed tags yourself. You can get whatever the plugin tag writes by just using the tag once with static values and view the source in the browser and copy it out, then replace whatever values with scriptlets (or other taglib tags) to fill in the correct values.
