Pages 5.5.2 custom paper size?

I know you can pick from about a dozen paper sizes from the drop down menu, but can I use a custom size, or is there a way to format for business cards?
thanks

  • Custom Paper Size in Page Setup grayed out and cannot be selected.

    I am playing with the iWork '08 demo and looking at Pages. I need to create an 8.25 x 10.5 custom paper size, which I did, but when I try to select it in Page Setup, it is grayed out. If I open a document made in the previous Pages that was done using this size, it still works.
    Any thoughts?

    I'm having this same problem as well. I'm trying to set up my page size to B5. I create a new custom size with B5 dimensions in the Page Setup screen but after I save it, I'm unable to select it as my page size.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Preview buggy when printing multiple pages per sheet using a custom paper size

    I have a square book I've designed and I've printed the pages to a PDF. Now I'd like to re-print the pages so you can see facing pages together exactly like when, in preview, you select "View > Two Pages".
    Each page is 12x12 so I'd like to re-print them to be 24x12 (24-wide)
    I was previously able to do this in preview (prior to mountain lion) using the "layout > two pages per sheet" option with a custom paper size but when trying with Mountain Lion, the print-dialog preview doesn't match the output when saved as pdf; pages either get shrunk or cropped without my permission and it generally seems to be buggy. I've been playing around with it for over an hour and can't get two pages side-by-side to take up a full 24x12 custom virtual page when saved as PDF
    I would expect the print preview to accurately display what will be printed (saved as PDF) and I am guessing that maybe the printer selected (HP all-in-one) is affecting the preview and save to pdf options?
    Can someone tell me how to achieve a printed rendition of the "view > two pages" layout?

    I have a little more information. I turned on "single hairline" border and as you can see, it's converting my square pages into "US Letter" pages BEFORE applying them two-to-a-page. So it's using my selection of "Paper Size" as both the source and destination paper size, rather than just the destination size, because my source is obviously 12x12 square (confirmed by looking at page properties in preview). Apple, please fix this

  • How do I print on a greeting card in landscape when I can't save custom paper size?

    I have a J6450 running on XP SP3 with the latest drivers and patches installed.  I have greeting card stock measuring 6.5 by 10.0 inches and a Microsoft Word document with a custom paper size matching the that stock prints in landscape mode.  The printer error is "Paper Mistmatch.  Paper size or type is incorrect."  I have followed the suggestions on the HP support page, changing the Print, Properties, Features options to show "Other greeting card", but can't define a custom paper size to match the stock.  The Save option is not available.  What do I need to do to make this work?

    Here is a link to a HP document for adjusting several settings that may help with your issue.

  • Custom paper size - seems scaled for A4

    Hi,
    I'm trying to print on the front of a card which when unfolded is 15cm x 30cm.
    I've made a PDF in Inkscape (page size matches paper dimensions) and opened it in Preview.
    I set a custom paper size of 15 x 30cm for my printer (Samsung ML-2010) in the page setup dialogue. The scaling set to 100%. When I print preview everything looks fine.
    However, when I print it seems to be scaled for a much larger page and the text is much larger than original and runs off the page. If I print it onto an A4 sheet everything fits but the text is still larger than intended.
    Any ideas on what's going wrong?

    Unfortunately I don't seem to have that Scale to Fit option... just the usual Scale bit below the orientation (in Page setup) which I currently have at 100%.

  • Custom Paper Size

  • Problem with custom paper size on dot matrix printer

    Hi All,
    I'm using CR2008 with updated to SP2. I have a problem with custom paper size (W=21; H=14), the CR Viewer show report with custom paper size correctly but when I print it to a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ 300+) the content was rotated to landscape. If print to a laser printer the content was printed correctly. My report was printed correctly by CR10 or previous versions I got this issue when upgraded to CR2008. I aslo tested my computer and printer with orther application like MS Word the printing have no problem with custom paper size.
    Thanks for any advice for me.
    Han

    Looking at the Epson LQ 300+ driver, I see that the latest update is from 2002. In my experience, most matrix printer drivers are not unicode. Crystal Reports is designed to only work with unicode printer drivers. See the [How Printer Driver Options Affect a Report|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/a09051e9-721e-2b10-11b6-f9c65c64ef29&overridelayout=true] article, page 6 for details. Also, see [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] note.
    Finally, see if you can print from the CR designer to this printer and if you get the correct results here.

  • Can't use units other than inches in custom paper sizes?

    When I try to define a custom paper size, the editable fields contain the unit "in". If I change this to anything else, like pt or cm, it gives an "invalid number" error message. I intend to file a bug report, but am I missing something here?

    You can set your system measurements to metric in the
    International control pane, under Formats. That will
    change it for Page Setup.
    I'd swear in a court of law that I tried that and it didn't work. Now I try it and it does let me use cm. However, if I try to use m or mm, it assumes I meant cm, and if I try pt, the units I really wanted to use, it still says "invalid number."

  • Managing Custom Paper Sizes with the Epson 2000P

    Hi,
    I recently started using the iMac and after installing the software for the Epson 2000P found that I could not print a 13 x 44 image. I set up a custom paper size and when the page printed it only printed 18" of the image. I tried the Epson 1280 with the same set up and was able to get 22". I thought maybe the file was to large a cut it in half with no luck. I increased the memory allotment of the program as well and still no luck. I have emailed and called Epson support and can't get any answers from them so I thought I would check here at Apple. If you have any advice I would greatly appreciuate it.
    Thanks
    2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Hi,
    Crystal Reports 2008 supports custom page sizes.  You can set this in the Page Properties for the report in the Crystal Reports Designer, I'm not sure if you can set it in the SDK as well.

  • Custom Paper sizes not saving

    Hi everyone
    Our IT department has just installed Acrobat X Pro on our PC and I have downloaded the instructions for printing custom paper sizes, but they don't save. I go to the printers and faxes, right click on the pdf printer, click on add under the PDF settings tab, add the name, dimensions etc ... click on modify/save ... and nada. When I go to print it isn't there. What am I doing wrong. I know it's going to be something really simple and I'm being a numpty.
    It's so much simpler on the mac. lol

    Hi Daniel. Thanks for that. It will let me gang up, but not repeat the page so I have a full page of the same thing. I read somewhere on here that I need a plug in for that. Is this correct? The thing is, I'm their graphic designer and they're making me redundant in a couple of months so I won't be here to keep on top of things for them. I use a mac which works perfectly, but they're wanting everything set up on the PC before I go because no-one other me uses macs and they want to put the system to bed. I expect they're going to have keep it going if they don't get the admin rights. To be fair, I really shouldn't care ... but I do. I'm such a sad sack. lol
    Thanks for all your help with this.

  • Is it possible to use an AppleScript to set a *custom* paper size in Word?

    I've used the following script to set the paper size in Word:
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
              set paper size of page setup of section 1 of active document to paper a4
    end tell
    but I've been unable to write a script to set a custom paper size -- does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks!

    The gallant Pierre strikes again!!!  For reasons having to do with a quirk of working with Word documents coming from a Windows machine, I ended up having to go the UI route, but I couldn't have done it without you!  I actually ended up changing the Format For: popup menu instead of the Paper Size: popup menu, but this technique could be used for those who wish to chose a custom paper size:
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
      activate
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
              delay 0.5
      keystroke "a" using command down
              tell application process "Microsoft Word"
                        click menu item "Page Setup..." of menu "File" of menu bar item "File" of menu bar 1
      delay 1
      click pop up button 3 of window "Page Setup"
      keystroke "Any"
                        delay 0.5
      keystroke return
                        delay 0.5
      keystroke return
      delay 1
                        click menu item "Print..." of menu "File" of menu bar item "File" of menu bar 1
      delay 1
                        tell menu button "PDF" of window "Print"
      click
                                  click menu item "Create Booklet" of menu 1
                        end tell
              end tell
    end tell
    Again, Pierre -- many thanks!

  • Unable to Set Custom Paper size setting of 15 (width) x 12 (Height) using J

    Hi,
         I am unable to print the report using the custom paper size setting of  15 (width) x 12 (Height)  with printer friendly fonts so that we can print on Line or dot matrix printer.
         This problem is not solved from last 3 months and we dont get help anywhere.
         We are using Java with Crystal Report XI R2 design for the same.
                           ITable table=null;
    DatabaseController dbCtrl=null;
    ReportClientDocument oReportDoc=null;
    try {
    String reportName=fileName;
    oReportDoc=new ReportClientDocument();
    oReportDoc.open(reportName,0);
    dbCtrl = oReportDoc.getDatabaseController ();
    rs=ad.sqlStringBigST(query);
    table = dbCtrl.getDatabase ().getTables ().getTable (0);
    dbCtrl.setDataSource (rs, table.getName(), "Runtimeres");
    Object oreportSource=oReportDoc.getReportSource();
    IReportSource reportSource=(IReportSource)oreportSource;
    PrintReportOptions printOptions = new PrintReportOptions();
    printOptions.setPrinterName("EPSON FX-2175 ESC/P");
    printOptions.setPaperSize(PaperSize.useDefault);
    options.setPaperSource(PaperSource.manual);
    oReportDoc.getPrintOutputController().printReport(printOptions);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.err.println(e.toString());
    Please let me know what is the solution for the same.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi,
        Yes i can understand that you need to first understand the root of the problem to give me the solution.
        I am here to answer to your questions until you understand what is the problem.
        Yes if i set the standard page size which are given in API doc , it sets up the page correctly.
        Following page size as given in the API doc works fine.
        http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/businessobjectsxi/en/en/RAS_SDK/rassdk_java_api_doc/doc/rassdk_java_apiRef/com/crystaldecisions/sdk/occa/report/document/PaperSize.html
       It is rejecting the custom paper size and custom fonts (which in my case are printer friendly fonts).

  • Scale to fit paper size (no custom paper size?)

    I used to have a custom paper size called "No. 6-3/4 envelopes" defined under Page Setup. For example, in Pages I would adjust the document's page size to the size of my envelope (6.5 x 3.63 inches). However, to get it to print correctly, after selecting File > Print... I would need to select "Paper Handling" (dropdown) and check "Scale to fit paper size". Then select from "Destination Paper Size" (dropdown) my custom page size that I defined in Page Setup. It would appear as a custom size near the bottom of the list after all the standard sizes such as US Letter. By not doing this before printing a custom size envelope, my HP printer throws an error that it does not support the page size.
    However, after upgrading to Lion, I'm not seeing my custom paper size underneath the "Destination Paper Size" list. It doesn't show any custom sizes I've defined from Page Setup as it did in 10.6 Snow Leopard. Is this a bug?

    Nevermind, I seemed to have solved my own issue which drove me crazy for the last 30 minutes. By swapping the Width and Height for the custom size in Page Setup, it now seems to notice the custom size under "Destination Paper Size" again.

  • Portrait printing problem on custom paper size

    Hi,
    i want to print on custom paper size - 500x700mm, but cant set custom paper size straight in Illustrator, only in printer driver. When I set it up and print file, all shapes are smaller on print than in file! Same thing happens with 320x450mm size. After some searching i tried to print it in landscape (wider side in printer) and everything is ok!!! but when i get back to portrait it is all smaller again :/
    On pre-intalled A4 size everything is ok.
    Can anyone help me, i want to print on 700x500mm but my printer is only 600mm wide ;/
    Tried to change any possible fit, resize and rotate option throughout app, system and in printer with no success.
    Specs:
    Mac OS 10.9 (Retina MBP 15)
    Illustrator CC and CS5 (tried on both)
    HP DesignJet 510 (CH336A)

    Yeah, HP tech support is iffy at best.
    I think you're on the right track.
    I don't think the issue is Illustrator. In my experience, the Art Board feature is exactly what is warranted for custom page sizes.
    I also wouldn't think it is an OS issue, as the drivers need to conform to OS development rules. If the driver "says" it can do it, it SHOULD do it. If it doesn't, that's not the OS's fault.
    In cases where you're trying to go "outside" the page-size presets of the printer driver, this is where people encounter problems, which is why I think the issue is the print driver. My solution has been to use an existing page-size preset, and hand-trim after printing. But in quantity prints, this becomes a pretty serious problem.
    One other thought. Someone else on this forum found that they could use custom page sizes (with certain printers) if they always fed the paper in its "tall" position, rather than feeding it in "wide." This might require you to rotate artwork in ai, I'm not sure. But it's worth a try in attempting to get your custom page size to print properly.
    Good luck.

  • HP Envy 5530 - how do you add a custom paper size

    I'd like to add two custom paper sizes; Halfsheet (8.5" x 5.5") Portrait and Halfsheet (5.5" x 8.5") Landscape.  I create lots of invitations and thank you cards, and have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to add these special or "custom" sizes to my printer.  I end up taking my paper to a friends home to print them so I need to figure out how to remedy the problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have Windows 8 if that helps.

    Hi there,
    Great question.  This document on the hp support site should get you started.  Once the page opens, click on the + sign next to Windows 8 and follow the instructions.
    Happy printing!
    Thanks!
