Pages and iCloud error

One day I opened pages on my iPad and all of my documents had the ink logo on them.  The titles still remained, but the content was gone, and I couldn't even open the documents.  However, they are all still on iCloud.  I reinstalled pages on my iPad, but only one of the documents came back into my pages app from iCloud, and I can't open it because it is frozen on the "download" bar.  How do I get the rest of my iCloud documents back on my iPad?  My internet correction is good and I'm not having any other issues with my iPad and the internet working.
Thanks,
T

How are you seeing your document on iCloud from your laptop? Web browser, or OS X Pages open dialog?
If you have MS Word or .pages formatted files parked on iCloud, the web interface will not permit their download as PDF, and in fact, PDF is an inactive option in that download menu for these word processing files. There is no copy facility available, but duplicate functionality exists from the iWork category within the iCloud web presence.
If you have Pages v4.2 or later installed on your (assumption: Mac) laptop, launch Pages and in the open file dialog, select iCloud on the dialog toolbar. Now, press and hold the option key as you drag and drop a copy of our document from iCloud to your desktop. The reverse works also.
See if you can open that document on your laptop now.

  • Pages and iCloud issues

So far I have found the following issues using Pages and iCloud both on iPad and iMac.
    1. I migrated 2 mobileme accounts to iCloud. The pages option to use iCloud would not stay on. This could only beresolved by deleting one of the mail accounts.
    2. Pages froze after editing a document and closing it when there was no internet connection. I had to reboot the iPad.
    3. The user interface for Folders on the iPad and in iCloud>iWork on iMac is extermely poor. On the iPad there is no way of organising documents in a folder or displaying them other than as thumbnails. On the iMac it is not possible to create folders, organise the contents of those created on iPad, or display other than thumbnails.
If this is Apple's attempt to lure people to Cloud computing then it is not a good start. They should have ported iDisk. I will go back to DropBox.

Though no one replied to this topic, I'm updating with what I've learned after spending many hours on the phone with an Apple tech rep who had esacalated to engineers.  There is NO solution.  Docs that are out of sync or unretrievable from iCloud or iCloud Drive, they cannot assist with.  They offered to wipe my iCloud Drive account and reset it, but I wanted them to restore it afterwards.  Just a simple, pull the data off, dump it on an FTP server so I can access it. Nope.  No assistance.  Not their problem.  I have to manually pull ALL the files off my iPad's iCloud account, the ones I can get to and go through this insane 6 step process to get to those docs.  Really disappointed with Apple.  Using MS Word on the iPad and though not perfect...at least the Pages docs won't be lost.

  • Page and iCloud, Page and iCloud

How use Page with iCloud ??

You will need to find a new hosting service - there are plenty to choose from - and upload your site to it. You can do this directly in iWeb '09 or above, or with earlier versions you have to publish to a local folder and use an FTP program to upload it. There are a few issue with not using MobileMe as several minor facilities won't work.

  • Blackened page and dialog error after opening a PDF file

    Hello,
I have an Acrobat Pro. 8.1 that I had installed in to Win. Vista. After reformatting my system and installing Win. 7 ultimate, I installed it again.  I also have Adobe Reader 9.0 on this system.
Problem is when I click and open a PDF file, it opens it in completely Black page and after a few second Black page goes away and following dialog is display and when I click on Close program on this dialog page the application does not give solution and goes completely away.
Adobe Acrobat 8.1 has stopped working
A problem caused that program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
With a Close program below it.
I can not scan with it either where as I could all the above in Win Vista. What could be wrong?
When I generate System Report if generates the following:

There were documents available in the knowledgeable that I no longer have the urls for. I have had communication with Adobe Acrobat support personnel that have made the same statements. I do not have the habit  of asking official Adobe tech support people to prove their statements by providing documentation. I have also seen Adobe employees give presentations on computers that have had both installed. When they were asked about the incompatibility, they did say the equivalent of phooey. However, enough people on this forum have had their problems disappear when they have removed one of the two programs that I feel comfortable giving that advice. Yes some people have no problems running both until one of the programs or a system component gets updated and then things stop working. My advice is not to have both on the same computer. When two programs share system calls and can fight over who gets to handle the call it makes sense that it can cause a problem. It doesn't make a difference if it is Reader and Acrobat or any two other programs you run. If you are not having a problem with running both GREAT. However, if you are running both and have a problem, it is a simple step to eliminate one and see if the problem disappears.

  • WRTU54G-TM Slow Setup Page and HTML Error on Access Restrictions Page

I have a WRTU54G-TM Wireless Router.  It has v1.00.21 firmware and I have done a reset with no solution.  Everything seems to work, except the setup pages load very, very, very slow.  Also in Internet explorer I get an HTML error on the access restrictions page. Resets don't help.  The router did not have this issue until about a month ago that I recall.  I can see on the access restrictions page the gray shading is all lined up except at the bottom on the page, like ther is some sort of issue in the html within the router.
One more problem, after I reset the router the saved config file I made would not change the default settings back, I had an older saved config file also, it would not work either.
Is this an issue with this firmware version?   Any one else see this?

Are you getting the same problem with another computer...?
Try using different computer and check if you are getting the same problem or not...If yes then,I would suggest you to re-flash/upgrade the router's firmware, reset the router and re-configure it from scratch..Do not use the save config file.

I can view and export the same .rpt file in my environment without any issues.  Has anyone seen these errors before and have any ideas on how to resolve them?  They seem to be environment related since I can view the same report OK on my machine.
This is using Crystal 10 on Windows Server 2003.

    Hello,
This sounds like a postback issue. Does your application handle postback by putting the report in session?
There is a [sample|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/en/CrystalReports_dotNET_SDK/crsdk_samples_aspx/data/crsdk_net_tutorials_115_en.zip] to look at on our website. It was created with Crystal Reports XI R2 and Visual Studio .NET but the code will be the same.
    The basic code is:
    Private crReportDocument As ReportDocument
        Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
'Check to see if the report exists
            If (Session("crReportDocument") Is Nothing) Then
                crReportDocument = New ReportDocument()
                crReportDocument.Load("C:\1 - Report\CRParams.rpt")
'Do anything required for the report
                'Logon to the database
                'Pass parameters
                'Assign the report into Session
                Session("crReportDocument") = crReportDocument
'Assign the report to the Viewer
                myCrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = crReportDocument
            Else
'Assign the report that is stored in Session to the report instance.
                crReportDocument = CType(Session("crReportDocument"), ReportDocument)
'Assign the report to the Viewer for each postback
                myCrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = crReportDocument
            End If

  • Site won't load just shows white page and no error msg.

Site is craigslist and will not load either in Firefox or Explorer. I just wind up with a blank white screen and it acts as if it is loaded. There are no error messages. Did I somehow do something to prevent it from loading?

  • I can no longer access itunes store on my mac. i get a blank page and no error msg.

I have used itunes successfully in the recent past, but no only get a blank page. I am an old non techy woman, please help.

LTE indicates cellular. Tap Settings > Cellular then switch Cellular Data ON.
If your Wi-Fi is working, then you should be able to access the internet.
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
    * No data is lost due to a reset

  • RGB, CMYK, rotated pages, and PDF error

    This is a weird one.
I have a FM 9 file. It's a chapter within a book. It has both portrait and landscaped pages.
If I "Save as PDF" from FM 9, and do not check "Convert CMYK colors to RGB," the landscaped pages do not rotate to landscape in the PDF output. That's bad.
If I "Save as PDF" the same way, but do "Convert CMYK colors to RGB," the landscaped pages correctly rotate to landscape in the PDF output.
Problem: I do not want to convert any CMYK components to RGB.
P.S. If I "Print Book" as PDF, the output is correct, but all hyperlinks within the file become inactive, and colors are converted to RGB, which we cannot have.
Also, I have experimented with the Distiller setting for treating pages Collectively or Individually, but without any success.
    Thanks for any insight.

    > Problem: I do not want to convert any CMYK components to RGB.
    Can you explain why?
I can think of a couple of scenarios, and in #1, the RGB conversion might not matter.
If you are sending the Ps or PDF to a print shop for matching to named library colors (such as Pantone), what's important is that the color Name be encoded in the output. The print shop software usually ignores the CMYK values, and uses it's own library definition for the named color. Unless FM is deleting the color name on RGB conversion (and I've never dug into that), I'd expect the print shop to ignore the RGB values as well.
If you are sending locally developed raw CMYK, as named-but-not-library-named colors, to the print shop, then yes, you need to stay in CMYK space, or use a post-processing tool that does RGB->CMYK recovery.
What are you doing to simulate color management?
FM has no color management, so FM output tends to be a collage of local and imported objects, in various color models, without color tag or profile information, or having embedded tag/profile information that may or may not be recognized downstream. In your PDF job options, you can specify (for example) Tag Images for Color Management, in which case the PDF job option defaults will be applied-to/override any tags or profiles that happen to be present.
Be wary of Tag Everything for Color Management.

  • Error page and error text handling

    Hi,
In Apex error text is always coming in an error page and displays error on error page only. Can we display error message on the same page where error occurred ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ranjan

    Hi, Ranjan,
that's not quite as easy, I fear. There SHOULDN'T be any unhandled exceptions. Try to make your procedures and functions as robust as possible. This might need some heavy redesign on your part (maybe surrounding procedure calls with processes?). As far as I know, Apex doesn't offer any exception handling mechanism. But I'll look into it.
    Cheers,
    Niko

  • Problems with Pages and Numbers using iCloud Drive on early 2008 MacPro, Yosemite

One of my computers, an early 2008 MacPro running Yosemite, will NOT save Pages or Numbers documents to iCloud Drive from within those applications.  I see the little iCloud Drive error badge next to the file name in Finder after I try to save.  However, on the SAME computer I can save Pages and Numbers documents to a local drive (e.g., to my Desktop) and then use the Finder to drag the documents to iCloud Drive successfully.  Another computer, a MacBook Pro running Yosemite, has no problems using iCloud Drive to create, edit and then save Pages and Numbers documents stored on iCloud Drive.  I have tried "turning off" iCloud Drive for Pages and Numbers in System Preferences on the Mac Pro and then turning it back on to no effect.  I have also logged out of iCloud Drive on all of my devices (which include two iOS devices) and then logging back in to ensure that I'm using the same login id on all devices, again with no apparent change.
Any suggestions for my next steps in attempting to solve this issue?  Is there any way to get more information about precisely what type of error is occurring?  Hovering over the badge only shows "Error".
    Thanks in advance.
    Jon

Found a solution, but it is odd:
On the 2008 Mac Pro, I UNCHECK the boxes beside Pages and Numbers in System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Options. Now Pages and Numbers will properly save edited documents to the appropriate folders on iCloud Drive.
    Go figure ...
Hope that this helps someone else.

  • Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages

Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages and still cannot send and receive. Get error messages, "does not recognize password" etc. Have working on Snow Leopard, iPhone iPad but not 10.4.11 PPC Mail. Any help? I used Apple support set up. I originally had a .mac account and have tried both [email protected] and xxx.me.com as username. I Upgraded my password to stronger suggested strength. (one cap and one letter minimum 8) I verified Keychain. I have even deleted everything including Keychain and account and started over numerous times, still no joy.  Ports are incoming 993 and outgoing 587.  Will not be upgrading this machine due to production software issues but was told I could stll use the .mac email
    Any help here?
    -Thanks

Give the date there is another probable solution. Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If you weren't, then please ignore the rest of this post.
MobileMe subscribers who migrated to iCloud received complimentary extra storage up until September 30 2013. This has now expired. If you have less than 5GB data in iCloud then your storage simply reverts to 5GB.
However if you have more than 5GB data, Backup, Documents and Mail will stop working until you either delete sufficient data to bring you within 5GB or purchase additional storage. Possibly this is what has happened to your - you should have been sent an email about this.
For instructions on purchasing additional storage please see
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4874
For help in reducing your iCloud data please see
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847
Your problem is that you cannot access iCloud to do this because you have no iCloud preference pane. Your only options are to use a compliant Mac (Lion or Mountain Lion) or an iOS5/6 device to purchase extra storage; or to go to http://icloud.com and delete as much as you can there (you may not be able to access this page on Tiger, but you would be able to do so from any more recent computer).

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.
