Pages App - Problems installing

I have just purchased the Pages App and have it in my applications but can not seem to be able to open the app. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what might be causing this? Thx

Shutdown your Mac. Power it on and at the first chime, press and hold the shift key until you see a grey horizontal progress bar on the screen. Eventually, you will be prompted to login. Before you press return or the arrow button in the password field, press and hold the shift key again, until your Desktop reappears. Now, perform a normal reboot.
The above process has removed and/or rebuilt system cache files, the font cache, and performed a check of your boot drive. You may even feel that your Mac is now more responsive.
Now, press shift+command+A to open the application folder, and double-click Pages to launch it.
You can also single-click on the Pages application icon and drag and drop it down to the Dock. This just creates an alias to the original application, but provides a simpler way of launching Pages with a single-click from the Dock.

    Hi I use the pages app a lot but the last time I used it i closed it to do other things than opened it again and the document I was working on said updating then I accidentally pressed on another document during the process it stopped loading and now I can't open that document and my stuff that I worked on in that document isn't there can I do anything about it?

    Maybe you can download the file from iCloud on your computer. Log into iCloud.com on your computer, and click on the iWorks tab. Then click on the Pages tab. See if you can download the file from there. Click on the document to select to and then download it to your computer - if possible.
    If that doesn't work, you could try restoring from a backup - assuming that you have a recent backup that includes that document. You may not have all of the edits in place that you made, but at least you might be able to retrieve the file.

  • C++ RFC server app - problems installing functions.

    System: Fresh Netweaver 7 trial on XP machine. No changes made to Netweaver configuration, it's as-installed.
    Dev environment: Visual Studio, C++
    I'm trying to use the rfc sdk in c++ to create an rfc server that can register functions. I've followed the samples in srfcserv.c that came with the SDK, but I am missing something.
    I can connect to netweaver with RfcAcceptExt, and I can install a function with either RfcInstallFunction or RfcInstallFunctionExt. All that goes smoothly. However, that installed function doesn't show up anywhere. If I add a function named "ABC", when I call RFC_FUNCTION_SEARCH no such function is returned in the results. Likewise, if I run transaction SE37 in netweaver, and type "ABC" into the function module box I get the error: "Function module ABC does not exist".
    Am I missing something here? Should I be looking somewhere else for the functions I install?

    You will get an e-mail confirming your purchase. Wait a few days.
    You have to download your copy using computer iTunes and sync it to your iPhone.

  • I have recently re-installed i-annot open because of a problem" response when I try to get into my files. After the re-install I still got the same message from 'pages'.  How can I restore the 'pages' app?

    I have recently re-installed i-Work because I was getting a "pages cannot be opened because of a problem" response and I was unable to read any of my documents or open any attachments from my e-mails. After the install, 'pages' still will not open and gives the same response. How do I restore my 'pages' app?

    I've never seen this error but I'd assume that it can be fixed the same way many Mac application errors are: open your Library folder and look inside the Preferences folder for the com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist file and throw it away.

  • Had to uninstall iWork trial since I bought the pages app and it wouldn't let me print or save.  Now the app store says I have pages installed but I can't find it anywhere to open and use it.  I'm not very computer savvy and am getting frustrated!

    Ooops, guess I didn't need to post everything in the title - sorry!  I bought the pages app - but couldn't save or print so with some online searching found that I had to uninstall the iWork trial which had expired.  I did that - but now I can't figure out how to re-install the pages app!!  The app store says it's installed, but I can't find it anywhere to open and use it.  I'm not very computer savvy - and am a first time Mac user and am getting extremely frustrated!  I e-mailed some help center and they can't seem to help me either.  I would appreciate any help/advice that can fix my problem - thanks in advance!!

    OK Apple has stuffed up the demo version upgrade process so the first thing you need to do is get rid of the demo.
    That includes getting rid of the files in the system.
    The instructions how to do that are here:
    Note That where you see / that is the sequence of folders, each nested inside each other.
    User/Library/Preferences the com.apple.iwork.Keynote.plist
    Means the User (you, the little home icon, whatever you are called on your computer) then the Library folder inside that and then the Preferences folder inside that.
    Lion initially hides the System folders from you so you have to go to the Finder > Menu > hold down the option key and click on GO > Library to see it.

  • The App Store says I have Pages 5.0 installed, but I only have 4.3.

    The Apple App Store says that I already have Pages 5.0 installed, and my Pages app is up to date. But when I look in my "about Pages" it says I only have 4.3. This is a problem because I can't open any of my documents that I put in the icloud, because I have to have Pages 5.0. But I was able to put them there using 4.3. Please tell me wha the heck is going on.

    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.

  • Pages app will not complete install and cannot be deleted.

    Pages app has been trying to install an update for a week.  It does not complete the install and cannot be deleted. I have tried logging in and out of the App Store to no avail. Does anyone know how to force a reinstall of an app, or at least delete it. It is an Apple Brand paid app with no &^%$% tech support.

    I Do have the same problem. I will try to reinstall it from iTunes as soon as I will get to my computer

    When you get the SF Compatibility plug in message something in the installed iWork part is corrupt. You ned to uninstall and install iWork again
    You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
              •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
              •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
              •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button
    Restart the computer and install from the iWork disc. Do the Software updates too.
