Pages App won't install on my laptop even though I have paid. HELP!!
I have used this app before but on march11, it stopped working! this is so annoying as i am a college student and really need the app. It keeps telling me to try and install again!!! HELP
Are you trying to run / install Pages '09, version 4.3? (That is the current release of Pages.)
Are you running Mountain Lion OS X version 10.8.3?

I am trying to open pptx files on my MacBook Pro and continue to get "No Text Converter is installed for this application" even though I have dowloaded several converters that were supposed to work and I just downloaded Apache Open Office 3.4.1 with no luck. I am able to open docx files with the converters I have installed but not pptx files.

Make sure it's the correct apple id that you gave when purchasing. If it is, call the apple retail store to see what's going on

Can't install iMovie HD 6 even though i have iLife '08
i have iLife '08, yet i cannot install iMovie HD 6 (i downloaded it from the support site). What could be wrong?
If iMovie 08 is not installed, you cannot install iMovie HD6 from the free download.
I don't think that this is correct. My iMac has the PowerPC chip, and therefore IMovie 08 could not be installed. Installation of the rest of the iLife 08 suite was completed without a problem. Once that was done, I learned (I forgot how) that I could get a free download of iMovie HD 6. The only difficulty that I encountered was what I described in my previous post, which was not finding the new program in the dock. -
My Mac won't stop speaking the time even though I have turned it off. What can I do?
I tried to turn off "Announce the time" in "Date & Time" preference pane in "System Preferences" on my Mac running 10.9.4. It is unchecked. Yet it is still speaking the time. What can I do to get it to stop? I have tried unchecking/checking closing System Preferences many times to no avail; it just keeps announcing the time. Any ideas?

I have downloaded an app called "Backstab" and it won't install on my ipod, even though it says 'installing'
I've authorized my PC too, but still nothing.
I can't update my iTunes or iPod cos I don't have admin privilages on my PC (which really is annoying)
So I dunno if it's to do with that or what?!
The app is 922.1MB and I have 3.11 GB free, surely that's enough space for 5 games (or so) in one??

My itunes then crashes!!! (it still says 'Syncing' tho!)You might need a little more free space to sync. During the sync process iTunes may need up to 3 or 4 times more free space than the original size of the app.
Try removing some music or videos, sync your game and put the other files back again after that. -
it's running ios 7.0.2 or something like that. I can't install new apps anymore, updates work fine. the 32gb real estate are only used for apps, I have no stored movies, photos, music. So there is room. There is also room on the screen itself. I know there is max number of apps you can install right? But even though I delete an existing app to replace with a new different one, it still won't install. I reset, turned on/off, everything but no luck. Please help.
Hook it up to the computer that you normally sync with and, if necessary, fire up iTunes. Look at the usage chart at the bottom of any screen. If it appears to be unreasonable, a "Restore" may be in order. Go to the summary screen and follow the on-screen instructions.

Pages asks to save changes when I close, even if I have done nothing but open the file??
Anytime I close a document with Pages, it prompts me to save my changes (even though I have not made any changes to the document). If I click save and overwrite the original file and then immediately open it again, it still insists that there are changes and that I need to save again. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
I have tried searching and can't find a definite answer. I have not printed the document or modified it in any way.Are you opening a Word or other 'foreign' file in Pages? When you do that, Pages makes a copy as a Pages document. Until you save it as a .pages document you will get that message.
If all you want to do is view these files, a better choice would probably be to open them in TextEdit or to use QuickLook. -
my pages app won't finish downloading. It keeps saying it's waiting but won't install when I click install and won't pause in order for me to start the download again.

Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?
Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.
