Pages Consistently Freezing on MacBook Air

Ever since I bought my MacBook Air, I have had issues with Pages freezing.  Usually, it is find for the first few minutes, but after about 15 to 20 minutes, I cannot exit the application.  The only way I can resolve the issue is by restarting my computer and then closing the application.  Does anyone out there have a solution?
I have iOS X Yosemite 10.10.2, and I'm using Pages 5.5.2
Thanks, in advance, for your help!

You are aware that Pages for Mac and Pages for iPad /iPhone/iPod are 2 different program?
Looks like you have Pages for Apple mobile devices but not for your Mac.
If that's the case
Pages for Mac: https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/pages/id409201541?mt=12
Pages for iPad/iPhone/iPod touch: https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8

  • Safari 7.0.5 freeze on MacBook Air

I have a MacBook Air that is having problems with the latest Safari.  I have Mavericks 10.9.4.  It happens often that I am using Safari fine and then it will pause trying to load a site.  The progress bar starts to move and then stops and never finishes.  At that point I cannot quit Safari without the dreaded spinning pizza wheel of death.  If I force quit Safari, I can but then I cannot Shut Down the MacBook.  It blanks the screen but never turns off.  So I have to manually turn it off.  I have tried using Firefox but have not had this same error.  I only have two extensions - Adblock and 1Password.
I have run Disk Utilities, Disk Warrior, cleaned out my Safari Cache.  Nothing seems to keep it from reoccurring.  It does not freeze each time I use Safari, just some times.  Hard to pin down.  I have my diagnostics report below.  The last freeze was today at 20:36 - I live in Europe.
Thanks for any help and advice you can give.

Remove "Bluecoat" and see whether there's an improvement.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and (unless otherwise specified in this comment) I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

  • Pages Document created on Macbook Air cannot be opened on Ipad Mini. I get a message that reads, "only documents saved in pages '09 may be opened." These devices are one week old and I just downloaded Pages for each.

I just got a Macbook Air running 10.8.2 and an iPad Mini. I downloaded Pages for both. I created a document in pages on the MBair and tried to save it to the iPad Mini so I could work on it while commuting and the file does not show up on the mini. I have tried to saved the file through iTunes app page and the message keeps telling me I can only transfer files saved in Pages 09. What gives? I can transfer files made in Microsoft word no problem, but files made in the same program do not work. Any help?? Very frustrating.

  • Need "Next Page" keyboard command--Word, Macbook Air

Is there a keyboard command that will take me to the top of the next page in Word 2011 on a MacBook Air?  I can creep up and down the existing page using Fn + right/left arrows.  I can go to the top and bottom of the file using Fn + Command + left/right arrows.  I want to go to the TOP of the next page (Page Down) and googling isn't turning up anything that works.

I sure wish it did!  fn + down arrow only takes me down the existing page, and randomly, not even paragraph-by-paragraph but randomly, when what I want is to have the cursor anywhere on a given page, then use a keyboard shortcut to move it to the top of the next page, and then to the top of the next page:  just going next page, next page, next page.  I'm trying to work on the first assignment in a writing class at the University of Washington and am obsessed with this problem because I'm going to be writing a lot of papers and really need to get around efficiently on this new laptop.  I work on a PC and haven't used a Mac for about 8 years, so it's getting a little crazy over here.

  • Installing pages from iPhone to macbook air...

I bought Pages on my iPhone and I want install this app to my new macbook air now for free. Is it possible install this app for free to macbook air? Thanks.

No they are 2 separate purchases for 2 separate OSes.
One for iOS bought from the iTunes store and,
One for Mac OSX bought from the Mac App Store.
They can then be used on as many of your iGadgets, or Macs using the same Apple I.D. and OS.

  • My iTunes 10.6.7 is freeze with MacBook Air!

My MacBook Air 13" is freeze too.
Whenever I open iTunes, this freeze happen.
How do I repair my MacBook Air?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The icon in the Dock is merely a shortcut. The only reasons why your steps would work are:
    1. The Dock preferences or cache got corrupted. The cache can easily be tested if after two reboots the problem come back or not. If after two reboots they don't persist, it likely was the preference.
    2. Or you have another copy of iTunes on your machine that was corrupted in some manner that the old shortcut was still pointing to. Double check it isn't elsewhere, with a program like FindAnyFile which isn't subject to the whims of Spotlight, and gives you an instant readout of the path of anything it finds. In that event, remove the copy that doesn't belong.
P.S. I'm just a happy user of FindAnyFile.

  • Powerpoint freeze on Macbook Air

I'm a professional presenter to big audiences and PowerPoint constantly freezes on my MacBook Air. Incredible frustrating and about to force me to go back to Windows ;-(  I've seen lots of posts saying that a potential work-around is to reinstall Office and never update the Mac OS. Common consensus is that this problem has been introduced by Apple (not Microsoft)... what's the reality and is there a fix? I'm on 10.9.5. Thanks.

    Where has it gone?
Good question. Things don't disappear on their own, so perhaps it was inadvertently moved. Use Spotlight to search for it - Click the Spotlight "magnifying glass" symbol at the upper right of your Mac's menu bar, and type Powerpoint. If you find it, move it back to the Applications folder where it belongs.
If you still can't find it, you'll have to download it again from Microsoft. You will probably need the license key or whatever Microsoft uses to track your purchases.
Please tell me you did not install any so-called "cleaning" utility such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanser" or "MacKeeper" or similarly categorized program...? Garbage utilities like that will make a mess of things.

    I need help!

We are all users like yourself just trying to help. None of us can see what you're doing so you'll need to give a good description of what you need help with. Some basic information would be what you've tried & the exact text of any error messages. What version of OS X is the MacBook Air running? Do you have an iCloud account? Do you have Pages on your Mac?

How do you change the printer setting on a macbook air? I go to print something and it prints double sided, is there a way to change that setting?I have an Epson printer that does air printing. Please help!

That would be a function of the printer settings. So once you call up the printer to print something go into the settings and change it from Duplex to single sided printing.

I'm trying to remote install and erase my disk so that I can get this Macbook Air restored to factory settings, but it's stalled and frozen 1/4 of the way with the rainbow wheel running on the Macbook Air to be restored.  I don't want to quit and ruin the machine, what do I do?

  • HT4637 Why have I lost the Campbell font in pages?  I have it on my iMac but not on the pages version on my Macbook Air?

I've just sent a pages document using Campbell font from my iMac to my Air and I've lost the font - where has it gone??
    James

Campbell is not a standard Mac font. Fonts are held in your Systems libraries they are not part of your document.
    Download it from here:
    http://www.font-db.com/font/CAMPBELL+Regular/25717
and double click it to install it.
