Pages constantly go missing

I am using DE for a school text book. Every time I use it, while scrolling through pages, large numbers of pages go missing. For example, hitting next page from page 55 will go to page 66. No matter how many times I flip pages back and forth, I cannot access the missing pages. Closing and reopening the software temporarily fixes the issue, but is inconvenient since I have to do it multiple times per session. Is there any way to prevent this??

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Pres "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Pages Constantly Freezing (Not Responding) with Lion

The Problem
I use Pages constantly for work, and have for the last two years. It has always had speed issues, and occasional crashes, but after upgrading to Lion, the application has become almost entirely unusable. The problem appears to be related to saving. The application freezes (at least once an hour and frequently as often as once every 10 minutes). I am forced to switch to the Finder and Force Quit. I've re-installed Lion (to fix an OS instability issue) and that didn't help. I also recently re-installed Pages (I used a 3rd party app to totally uninstall the application), and the re-installed version has the exact same issues.
When it Happens
Often Pages freezes when I switch to another application and return. Often it freezes when selecting Save a Version from the file menu. Sometimes it just freezes while I'm working. I don't want to start a discussion about the pros and cons of versions and templates, I really just want Pages to stop freezing up. If I can't do this, I will either have to downgrade to Snowleopard or find another word processor (which I really don't want to do). I've lost a tremendous amount of work related to this issue. I never lost work under Snowleopard.
Preferences
I have unchecked "Back up previous version when saving" and "Save new documents as packages" (the latter being problematic with the version control in Dropbox). I am using a MacBook Pro 17" 2.6GHz Core i7 with 8GB RAM. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure this is a Pages issue. You've said you've had to reinstall Lion to fix instability issues. Have these issues really been fixed? Are you having issues with other apps?
I also would not use a third-party program to uninstall Pages. This is just a generic uninstaller and may not uninstall unique files that only Pages creates.
My suggestion would be to:
Create a new user account and run Pages from there. Do the same problems occur? If not, move your data to a new user account and delete the existing user account that has problems.
Make sure there's not a permissions issue on your Mac by Fixing Permissions with Disk Utility (you've probably already done this, but thought I'd mention it just in case)
Delete iWork's font cache:
Macintosh HD/Users/YourName/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWork.fonts
Completely uninstall Pages:
Go to https://public.me.com/koenigyvan
Choose For iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip
Download uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button
Reinstall and update Pages

Why is Safari reloading my pages constantly?

Why is Safari reloading my pages constantly, very annoying. Running OSX 10 and Safari 7,0,4. Started happening today when I turned my mac on. Pages refresh 4 to 5 times per minute and using back page becomes impossible/pointless. I have reset Safari but that does not help. Any ideas please?

Many web pages uses a table system and when you copy you get the table too. Pages 09 retains the table. PAges 08 don't.
Tryy this: When you have pasted into a Pages document select some text and then hit Cmd + A to select all text. Paste into a new blank document. Tha tshould help.

I know iBooks aren't backed up and that iCloud just backs up the purchase history, but I'm not sure about pdfs being backed up. Some people say they are:

It's probably safer to assume it doesn't backup pdfs. You could store your pdfs (for safekeeping) in an app like Dropbox.

I can only go back one page at a time because the drop-down jump back multiple pages feature is missing; how do I get this feature back?

On Firefox 3.6 the back and forward buttons also had a drop-down menu to enable me to jump back to one of the last, say, 10 pages I had viewed rather than only go back one at a time. Also, the reload button appears to be missing and I can't figure out how to bring these back. Otherwise, an awesome upgrade; thanks for all your hard work on this fantastic product.

You can right-click either Back or Forward button to open the tab history list.

Is there a way to download PAGES 4 for MAC OS? Pages 5 is missing too many features I need!

Is there any way to get the prior version of Pages (4x) for MAC? So many critical features are missing now I cannot use Pages any longer unless I can get the old version?

With Mavericks the answer is maybe. It really depends on whether they ship a disc with Pages 4.0 or Pages 4.3. It is hard to figure out which one is the one that you will actually receive. If you have a virtual machine and purchased these from the Mac App store then if you run Mountain Lion you should be able to download them again on that system. This is the method I used to re-install.
I'm lucky in that I have the retail version of iWork 09. I re-installed it using the following method.
1. Reinstall from DVD. This installed a version that is too out of date to run on Mavericks so I had to do step 2.
2. Ran a virtual machine with Mountain Lion, installed iWork 09, ran software update and copied the latest versions over to my main machine. This works and now I have iWork 09 back on my machine. Hopefully Apple can fix this latest iWork and bring it back to feature parity with iWork 09.

Is Pages 5.1 missing "merge fields"

Pages 09 could merge data from a Number 09 table, similar to mail merge with address book. 5.1 seems to be missing the ability.

I haven't updated it for Pages 5.1, but there are about 8 features back, some that still don't really work and a few new missing features discovered so the number is just under a 100 still.

Pages to epub: missing text

I followed all the styles given from apple (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4168)
I am done formating my book and ready to publish it.
When I export to epub, and open it on the ipad:
-some of the pages (that are suposed to have text) are blank,
-some are only showing some paragraphs and not others,
-some are missing the headlines, chapter numbers... very ramdomly.
I am not sure what to do! please help!

How does it look on the Mac when you open the document? You can test it in the free Adobe Digital Editions 2.0.app.

When I convert a Word doc to PDF, some of the page numbers are missing.

I'm using Word 2003 and Acrobat Pro 7.0. When I print out the Word doc all the page numbers are there, but when I concert to PDF most of them are missing. Any suggestions?

How are you converting? What are the job settings for the PDF conversion? What if you print to the Adobe PDF printer?

Pages and links missing on HostMonster

I created my website with iWeb and published it to a folder on my desktop. All links, pages and albums work beautifully. When I uploaded my site to HostMonster, all I get is my Welcome page with no index to my other pages. I had created links to other pages within my text, and these work, but when I click on them, only the text is visible--no photo albums are visible.
I called HostMonster support and they said I could edit the pages from there but I don't know how to do this.
Can anyone help?

As you will see, there is no index at the top of this page. When you click on the links in the text below, it goes to my other pages but the photo albums are missing as well as the index that should be at the top of page.

all the "pages" files which i have created on my computer recently are saying that they have the file is missing its "index.xml"
im freaking out because i have two uni assignemnts due and both files aren't opeing!

i have opened the content of the file.. and all other places are telling me there should be a file called index.zip, in there and to rename it as .pages or to copy off and re open it, or to rename it as zip.xml and try again...

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Installed iCloud and now all Pages docs are missing. How do I recover them?

I installed icloud this morning. This evening, when I went to use Pages, I discovered that all of my documents are missing. How do I recover them from before I converted to iCloud? Or can I?

hmm, I knew I was missing something fairly obvious. I went into AppStore and the apps were there with an "accept" option rather than a price. I've started the download.
I've no idea if this means I'll be charged or not. I never got a screen with a price on it so hopefully not.
