Pages crashes on launch

Question

I've just bought Pages through the Mac App Store, and it crashes on launch. I've removed it, reinstalled it, restarted the machine, same result. First time it runs it gets past the "Welcome to Pages" screen, but crashes on the document style chooser, clicking 'Reopen' means it crashes without showing anything, I just get the "Quit unexpectedly" screen.
It's a clean install of Snow Leopard too, installed only a couple of days ago.
Is this a known problem?

This is why apply the combo updater is required : it apply *_every needed changes_*.
Two well known oddities are the fact that the updater failed to replace two badly formed fonts.
The wrong ones had odd effects upon Pages.
Several other oddities were described which were killed by the use of the combo updater so that I'm wondering if the incremental 10.6.2 updater failed only upon the fonts problem.
Have other people been having problems with Pages from the Mac App Store?
Most of us are running iWork '09 (which means : Keynote '09, Numbers '09 and Pages '09) since january 2009. So, none of us bought the versions available on the App Store.
As far as I know, the store ones are quite the same. Maybe Apple added the piece of code checking the embedded signature available in every app bought thru this scheme.
What is really surprising is that the Store install the apps in the Applications folder when there is an Apple technical note saying that the three iWork components must be installed in the Applications > iWork '09 folder.
Maybe they may do that because the fifth update is the last one before the delivery of the next version which we wait for months.
