Pages created by other applications

I have some applications which create html from within them to post on the web. I have my own domain, and have had no issues creating pages with links to these pages. With iWeb, how do I create a dead link, so I can add the pages to the site folder? Does this make any sense?

In iWeb you can attach a hyperlink to almost any element....photos, graphics, text. Just use the Inspector Hyperlink tab to "Enable [the selected element] as hyperlink" and then you can enter any properly formed URL. If you put the HTML files you create in a separate folder in the same directory level of your site folder, then you would just enter the url like: http://www.yourdomain.com/myhtmlfolder/myhtmlfile.html
Furthermore, if you want to make your link appear like all the other links in the navigation menu on iWeb pages, you can follow the directions here on Will Englefield's tutorial page and make simple redirection links to your html pages...

No, iweb cannot import or edit anything. You can try copy/pasting or drag/drop your stuff into an iweb template and see how it works.

Using .mac with pages created by other apps

Is there a way to publish pages created by other applications to .Mac?
This may seem like a silly thing, but every year I run an NCAA basketball pool (all legal, of course). I have run this on my web site with my own domain, but would like to make the switch to my .Mac site. The software that I use to run the pool creates web files to upload to your site. With my old site, I would just create a page with a link to the pages, and upload everything. Is there a way to add files to your .Mac web folder somehow? Does this make any sense?

Sure there is...
Publish your files to a folder, then copy the whole folder to your iDisk/Sites/ folder. To get your iDisk mounted to your desktop, look under the Go menu of the Finder, then select "iDisk", then select "My iDisk".
For example....if you publish your b-ball pool site to a folder called "bball". Then copy this folder to Sites folder at the root of your iDisk. You can then, access the web pages at the following Homepages URL:
http://homepage.mac.com/yourdotmacname/bball/index.html (substitute your .Mac username and the appropriate start page name, of course).
That's it!
This is different from your iWeb site, but if you ever design pages in iWeb and publish them, you can simply provide a link on those pages to the above Homepages URL.

Publishing webpages on .mac created by other applications (not iWeb)

I've got a web page and linked files in a subfolder - all created by Powerpoint.
I would like to publish this on my .mac account site - but can't figure out how to do it.
Any suggestions?

In addition to what i wrote earlier.
When saving the PP to a webpage, create a folder first with a suitable name ( ppt for example. DotMac is case-sensitive).
Then save the file as index.html in that folder.
Not as presentationname.htm.
That way you need not type the filename.
Then drop the folder in the Sites folder or Web>Sites folder on your iDisk.
The URL will be:
http://homepage.mac.com/dotMacID/ppt/
or
http://web.mac.com/dotMacID/ppt/

I was wondering how to find web pages created by Oracle Application Server on my system. I want to add pages to that folder. Do these pages have a extension I can search on.

usually $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/htdocs but your mileage may vary.

I keep getting a warning stating that the document could not be auto saved in pages. The file has been changed by another application. Then it says click save any way to keep your changes and save the changes made by the other application as a version, or click revert to keep the changes from the other application and save your changes to a version.
What in the heck does all that mean, and why are they trying to behave like a Windows product or a Microsoft office product. I just don't get it.
Why is another application changing my documents? It's like they've created a virus within their own programs. It's a pain in the neck and makes no sense.

I am also having the issue of a warning saying "could not be auto-saved in Pages. The file has been changed in another application. I then hit "save anyway", the warning will go away for a time, sometimes minutes, sometimes hourr, but then the warming reapprears saying the same thing. This is not the case with all Pages documents but it is the case with many.

When you say that "you have the data" you mean that you have HTML code data(<html><body>Hello World</body></html>)? If yes you should create an algorithm that "read" html tag and display text in the appropriate layout/font/size/color...
A solution could be simplify your HTML code (server side), so you can easly "decode" and display text.

In Pages 5.5.1 when I go to the Open menu I cannot get a preview of any of the files in the list using the spacebar, which I can do in every other application and finder. Is there a workaround?

In all other applications and in the finder, if I select a document and press the spacebar I get a quickview preview of that file. It does not work in Pages when I choose Open and am given a list of files to select from. This was not the case in older versions of Pages. Is there a workaround, other than doing quickview in the Finder before going to Pages.

On Yosemite, Pages documents that are in a package (folder) format are viewable with Quick Look in the Pages v5.5.1 file chooser. Pages documents that are in the Single File (compressed, renamed folder) format are viewable in diminished size with Quick Look. Other documents that can be opened in the version(s) of Pages on your Mac will also open properly in Quick Look from the file chooser.

Error on open the Report Schedule Page from other application

I want to open the only "Report Schedule Page" of the InfoView from my application. For this I am using the following url -

The problem I am facing is that sometime the Report Schedule Page open successfully and sometimes it gives the following error -

description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested).

Hi,
first of all it is neither supported nor recommended to embed or call single components or pages of InfoView in other applications. You would have to write your own schedule page using the BO SDK.
The problem you are facing looks like the component you are calling does not get or find a valid session to the BOE system in the desired place. But even if it would (sometimes you are seeing that) I doubt that it would work to schedule a report using this mechanism as the further requests when pressing the OK button will call other parts of InfoView then, which will probably cause other problems. So try to use another solution as stated above.

Pages 5.0 and 10.9.
While App Store tells me there is no update avalable to Pages, which it says was installed Nov. 4, its the old Avatar/logo thingo and, as I say, it will not open the Pages docs created on my MacBook, which definiitely does have the new Pages running smoothly.

1) They should be boolean inputs to your VI. But does it makes sense to provide a stop button input at the start of your VI? (THINK DATAFLOW!)
2) Yes, the LV-RTE is needed...
