Pages deleting table after Page 1

Has anyone had the situation where they are working in Pages, created a table, made a change to Page 1 (for example something as simple as changing the Font Size) and it keeps deleting all the pages after Page 1?
It happens to me all the time and I can't work out why.

Rebuild dynamic header row in table after page break

Hi,
I have a table with dynamic columns. So in the initialize event of the table, I'm build up the header row (add columns with addInstance etc.). The same I'm doing with the table rows. It works fine, so I see correct header row and also several body rows with the right content.
My issue is now the page break. When I tick the checkbox "Include headerow in subsequent pages", it will show a heade row, but not my dynamic build one. So how can I make sure, that my dynamic creation of the header row will also take place on each page? Is there any event, where I can placed the code it, so the header row is being created on each page freshly?
I was thinking about to create another header row, for which one I ONLY tick the checkbox "Include headerow in subsequent pages", but this was working neither.
Do you have any ideas here?

Hi Nitin,
in this case, you must use more nested wrapper subforms and set the root subform layout from "flow" to "positioned". I cannot give advice on how the wrapper subforms are organized, since it depends on your logic, just try it out.

Pages delete pages

I created a 100+ memoir document that includes images (wrap around) throughout. Somehow during the process I ended up with 2 blank pages early on in the project (pages 13 and 14) that I now want to delete. How can I delete these two blank pages without affecting the layout and images on all the pages that come after page 14?

When I use "section breaks" to delete the blank pages it moves up the text but the pictures remain on the original pages. Thus, it would seem that I have no choice but to go into each page, find the corresponding picture and drag it to it's proper location.
. . . I used Pages because previously I tried to use Blurb's self publishing software and it kept crashing. A lot of time and effort was wasted on this. Now, I'm in the 11th hour, trying to format this manuscript so that it resembles a book in time for a 90th birthday celebration for my father in-law. It is his memoir and the party is in 2 weeks.
What software program would you have recommended? If I had done this in Word I think it would have been a no brainer.

Delete rows in Pages in a table for iOS

I created a table in Pages for iOS, I am trying to delete a row within tables. How do I delete a row or rows?

Thank you Picas for your response. I already knew and tried your suggestion. What failed to clarify is that I am attempting to delete a row in the middle of the table. Using the down/up arrow icon does not delete the row I am attempting to delete. I would appreciate any further suggestions you may have. Thanks again.

How to delete an old page online after it's deleted in iWeb?

I discovered this problem by doing a google search on my name: "dan crane"
The entry for www.dancrane.com shows text from a previous version of my home page, but I no longer see this page in iWeb.
If I click the google "cached" version of the page, I see the old page and the URL they use is www.dancrane.com.
But if you click on that URL, it will take you to http://www.dancrane.com/Site/Welcome.html
So my question is, how do I find/delete that old page? It does not show up in my iWeb.

You can get to your published files from Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites. You can drag unwanted files out onto the desktop or delete them in the usual way.

How To Delete The Extra Page In Smartform Output

I am working wih Smarform..which displays P.O Details (Header and Item ) .
Header Details in Template and Item Details in Table..
I am trying to print 10 P.O ..for every P.O i kept New page command.
So..finally i have to get 10 pages in output...instead i am getting 11 pages...
How to delete the extra page ? Y i am getting this..

as someone else said. put the newpage command at the start.
However with a condition that that it not happens at the first page.
or
Determine how many P.O.
use a counter.
If this counter is equal to number of P.O, then no newpage command.

Remember values in form after page submit

Hi there,
im absolutely new to APEX (as u can see it`s my first post ;)), i read the documentations i found on the oracle website and know at least the basics...
So i started to create my first application and got already my first problem :D Maybe you can tell me if what i want to do is possible and how to do it.
I have several pages with a form on the left side and a sql report on the right side.
The form contains some fields which are list of values (fields which contain foreign keys so the user can just select a valid value). next to every list of value field i have a button. when the user clicks on the button i have a branch to the same page and the sql report gets updated. depending on which button next to the list of values with the foreign keys was pressed it shows the complete table the list of values references to (so the user can see what the foreign key he is selecting actually contains). after some work i finally made this work.
But the problem is: When the user enters some values into the form and then clicks on a button to see what the foreign keys contain the values he already entered are gone. But i want the values he entered to stay in the form after he pressed the button. is there a easy way to do that? the only thing i could imagine is to create a variable for every form field, save the current values into the variable before the page gets submitted and write the values of the variables back into the form when the page reloads. but that sounds kind of stupid... i would have to do that for every page of this kind (which are a lot). so is there a better way?

Hi Fennek,
If you created the Form using a wizard, it is possible that your page has a "reset page" process on it. If it has, either set a condition of Never for it or delete it. This process will clear the values for all items on the page.
If you don't have this process, check the branches on the page. It could be that one of them has a Clear Cache setting that clears the values for the page - just remove the setting to stop that happening.

Saving Tables in Pages '08

Hi,
I hoped that someone may be able to help with this. I wondered whether it was possible to create a table that could be saved and inserted simply into documents. I have created a 'template' table, i.e. inserted a table into a pages document and added some text headings and formatted the size etc, but this is a table I would like to continuously reuse throughout the document.
Is there anyway to save this as the default 'insert table' or something along those lines? It would make my life a lot easier!

You can create a default table style for a document & then save the document as a template. Open the blank template & insert a table, click in it & choose the font, size, color, etc. you want in the fonts panel or format bar. While you're at it resize the box if you want, set the amount of extra space in the wrap inspector, etc. You can do similar changes to inserted objects & text boxes. Delete each text box, object & table after you've set them. Now, save this document as a template & it will be available in the Template Chooser. If you want, you can set that template as default in preferences. If you decide to make any changes to the template down the road, just Save As Template again with the same name & replace the previous version.

Image not printed in SapScript, only after page break

Hi,
I have a problem in printing an image (stored as text) in a sapscript. The image was uploaded correctly from a TIF file in tcode SE78. The image contains a signature and I need to print it at variable positions within the form. That is I need to print it in the MAIN window. The image does not get printed when a page break occurs when outputing the text element containing the picture. If the page break occurs when outputing any (other) text, the image is printed correctly (after that text).
Has anybody else encountered this problem? Could it be a sapscript bug?

I created four (4) similar two (2) page file tables as an inventory of the contents of four (4) file crates full of LP vinyl record albums. How can these four (4) files be merged into a single file, then arranged in alphabetical order (by artist)?

I am using "pages" version 5.5 (2109) as updated in its newest version after installing Yosemite OS X 10.10 on my 21.5 inch Mac desktop computer. When I printing the second file as a two sided document on a single sheet of paper, it only printed the first side. I looked at the copy of the file on my screen, and saw that the second page was also blank on my screen. I opened the original locked version of the 68 row, 4 column table, and found that both pages, 34 rows on each page, were intact, but when I saved it again, locked it, and reopened a duplicate copy, the second page again was not there. I ended up printing a copy of the original file, but I am nit able to save more than one page of the two page original. I would like to do this so I can edit the list without altering the original. I would eventually like to merge all four tables into one document, than arrange the entire merged file in alphabetical order. I would like to do this and have not been able to. This was the original question I had before I lost the second page of the second file table.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

How to delete just one page in Pages 4.3

Hello I am having an issue with trying to delete just one page out of the 47 pages that I have created.
If I try to delete page 12 it will delete 12-47 instead of just page 12.
I also cant seem to move or adjust the yellow box in thumnails in order to select just one page. It has them all selected.
Another issue is when i try to delete a large text box, which i created to make a frame on my page. It will also delete all the pages after it. So its making it very difficut to make any changes.
I have searched through many forums and havent had any luck by using their methods.

Forget about the page thumbnails.
Let's say that page 12 is in the middle of a section and you want to delete it.
On page 12, in the actual document, not the thumbnails, click somewhere in the first line of text so that the cursor appears. Use the left arrow key to move the cursor until it is just before the first letter on the line. Now, from the Insert menu, insert a Section Break (not a section).
On page 13, do the same thing; i.e. insert a Section Break before the first character.
Now you can go to the thumbnails, click on the Page 12 thumbnail and it will be a section all by itself. Click the Delete key.
(I am sort of assuming that there are no invisible characters before the first one that you see, but if there are, you obviously have to get before them too.)

Deleting a Single Page in Pages '09

I created a two-page text document in Pages '09 with headers/footers and Pages added a THIRD blank page (with header/footer) that I DO NOT WANT. When I attempt to delete a page, the ONLY option Pages gives me is to delete ALL THREE PAGES. Is the any way that just a SINGLE page can be deleted? Pages doesn't "see" a page as you & I do. Pages sees logical pages, separated by section breaks, rather than physical pages. You can see this by showing thumbnails, View > Show Page Thumbnails, & then clicking on a page thumbnail. The yellow border around groups of pages shows the logical page. You need to insert section breaks before & after the physical pages to separate them. Then, with the cursor in the body of page three, use the section tab of the layout inspector & uncheck user previous headers & footers.

How do I delete a blank page and rearrange pages in Pages 5.0?

I have several blank pages in my document, there is nothing on the page - except the header and footer - and I can't delete the blank pages ... in the previous version you this by selecting the page thumbnail on the left hand side and using the delete key - but this doesn't work ..
Also you could re-arrange the page order by moving around the thumbnails ... but now this does not work ... so how do I rearrange the pages in a newsletter?

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5, after Exporting your files to Pages '09, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Inserting a table in Pages from Numbers

After inserting a table from numbers, it's sometimes not possible to adjust it's dimensions in Pages anymore. At the same time i can't select most of the options to change the tables layout behavior. When i add a table in Pages all options are available in the same textframe? Can't find the difference...

You are right with floating / inline.
But you are not right depending the development of the program. For users edditing text it is completly inapprehensible why the behavior of table adjustements should change, just because it is inline and breaking to the next page, while the same table keeps beeing adjustable when it is displayed on one page again by e.g. adding linies above in the textbox?
That's stupid, like you would judge on Microsofts Word... Programs should support users work and not the other way around.
There is no way to change font-sizes if you can't read the content anymore...

Making a PDF with LiveCycle then being able to edit pages, insert pages, delete pages, attach files to document, be readable in Adobe Reader etc.

We have been working for some time with LiveCycle to creat a documents and have experienced a host of problems with the end product.
1. Images inserted into the LiveCycle PDF document often come up as "broken links" after editing the document and resaving it.
2. Documents will not display in Acrobat reader unless a digital signature is applied to them and the document is re-saved.
3. After making the document, we are unable to use Adobe Pro to insert pages, delete pages, or insert files into the document as attachments.
The end state was to use the simplicity of LiveCycle to create a document and do most of the hard work, and then save it as a PDF document that could be easily edited with Adobe Pro. It has proven difficult, to say the least, to figure out how to make this work.

2- It only seems rational that if I make a form with LiveCycle that I should be able to view it with Adobe Reader or Adobe Pro.
Making a form with LiveCycle to be distrubuted to personnel internally that have Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro and cannot open it without it having a digital signature field in it that has just recently been signed just doesn't make sense. Nor does it seem to make sense to have to purchase 200 additional licenses just for LiveCycle so that people can open a PDF that was made with LiveCycle. If I make it in LiveCycle and only people with LiveCycle can open it, what is the purpose of making it to begin with?
3- This also totally sucks. In a standard Adobe Doc I can at least attach documents to it?
So, what, exactly then, is the purpose of LiveCycle if the only benefit it seems to provide is ease of creation, but the end product has way less functionality?
And how do I go about contacting an Adobe rep on the phone in regards to this without getting "there is no support for this product, go to Adobe.com"
We have millions of dollars of Adobe software and can't get support other than hunting and pecking in these forums? Really?
