Pages died today. Just downloaded the latest update 2 days ago. Last night shutting down my very new MacBook Pro, Pages stopped shut down. Today Pages will not open, all my Pages docs cannot open. Help please! Anybody have a fix?

You probably have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 in your Applications folder, will open Pages '09 files but will alter/damage them. It can not open Pages '08 files.
Pages '08/'09 in your Applications/iWork folder which can not open Pages 5 files.
When you were shutting down you probably had an unsaved document open.
You probably are opening the wrong versions of Pages to open the wrong document format.
Pages 5 has had over 90+ features removed.
Most users are going back to Pages 09 whilst Apple sorts this out.

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. -

When I do wild card searches of the site, I used to see check marks next to links that I had observed. After accepting the latest update, I don't see the check marks any more.
OK, I can get Firefox 8 downloaded but then what do I do? The instructions say to move the Firefox image to the applications folder and then drag the icon from the folder to the dock. I don't know how to do this.

Used migration assistant to set up new Macbook pro from old macbook pro. Many "profile" problems.
Will not even open "System Preferences" for user whose profile info was transferred. (Will for "Administrator")
Cannot use Firefox or Thunderbird, profile missing.
Help???Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search, and look under "User Diagnostic Reports" for crash logs related to the application(s). Select the most recent one and post the contents -- the text, please, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report.

Can't get the latest vesion of Itunes to download correctly. I keep getting a runtime error R6034. I tried uninstalling all the apple components in the order given. anyone having any good advice to solve my problem?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique. -
TS1363 I just downloaded the latest update for the operating system of my iPhone 4S
I need some help. I just connected my iPhone 4S to my computer for the upate to the operating system. Something went wrong in the download and installation and now I can't even turn my phone off. The screen is stuck on an apple loading screen and has been for about 3 hours now. iTunes doesn't even recognize that the phone is connected. Anyone able to help me out I sure would appreciate it, I'm rather lost without my phone.

I just downloaded the latest update on I Pad 2 and now the screen shows the plug and I tunes? It will not start up. I have plugged it in and nothing. It is fully charged.
That means that it's gone into recovery mode. You will have to connect it by cable to your computer's iTunes and that should prompt you to reset it back to factory defaults, you can then restore to your backup (or just resync your content to it)

Thank youHi Eustace, I believe that it should be possible to download a dmg on a Windows machine and then transfer it to a Mac and run it, although I must admit I've never done it--I have downloaded Windows installers on my Mac and transferred them to WindowsXP and Vista, and run them without a problem (although some sites make it difficult because they check your OS and send you to the downloader for the OS you are booted in--I seem to recall one where it simply would not ever let me download what I wanted). I wouldn't recommend this for the OP though--I really think the best bet is to have the Mac connected to the Internet and run Software Update, so that all the updates needed are available and get run. Once the first batch are run and the computer restarts, one would then run Software Update again to see if other updates then become available...something that happens quite often. The OP would have to know all the updates that are available and needed on the Mac beforehand, then find the stand-alone updaters for each one and download them, and still wouldn't find out what other ones might be needed after running the first batch.

I have had a similar problem, except all of my text messages are gone too! My contacts have slowly started to come back, but it appears that my most recently added contacts are gone, and my messages are also gone still.
