Pages disappear when I delete highlights

Hi, I'm working on a file that I have highlight a few empty spaces to fill later... Then I export to word, send to other person. Then this person send the document back to me and I opened (word file) in Pages 5.0.1. Now I'm trying to delete the highlights to add numbers, and when I delete all the pages ahed disappear... Anybody have any clue regarding what could be happening?

You should be using Page Layout mode. Nothing good will come from using Word Processing mode since none of your content is on the Text Layer.
One by one, you can Cut your Text Boxes from the Word Processing document and Paste them into a Page Layout document. Then arrange the Text boxes in your Page Layout doc. Add as many pages as you need to accommodate your Text Boxes.

Can anyone tell me why my pages disappear when using "crop pages xoffset" in Acrobat Pro XI? It works fine in Acrobat Pro 9.

card (Intel Graphics HD 2000). The new driver is dated January 2014. The
old driver was dated June 2011.
I tried to replicate the blank pages situation, and none went blank. Will

Page 2 Disappears when I delete a photo...***?

I'm using Pages in Layout mode trying to update a 2 page schedule. When I try to delete a photo on page 1, page 2 disappears...what gives?

I have looked at your file.
1. You are in *Word Processing* mode not *Page Layout* mode, it says which after the file name at the top of the document window. You choose which one you want when you start from the *Template Chooser*.
2. You should be in *Page Layout* mode. Create a new blank file from the *Template Chooser* and copy and paste over the individual text boxes and images.
3. +Menu > View > Show Invisibles+ to see what it is you have done.
There is a mix of text and floating objects with text wrap turned on for the images. The text wrap is pushing the paragraph returns (that you typed into the layout) around, so that eventually they spill over and form a second page.
It is the Generals's photo box that is pushing down the paragraph returns.
When you delete the photo the paragraph returns pull back onto the 1st page and there is nothing to make a 2nd page. Effectively I think the content is still in the document but the page goes AWOL.
As I said you can make a *Page Layout* document where each page stands on its own and can be empty or not.

You should use +Menu > Insert > Page Break+ in place of all the returns you hammered into the type. This makes a *hard break* over to the next page. Effectively it says +new page here,+ not waiting till the page is full to overflowing with returns to make a new page.
Have a look with the Invisibles turned on to see how you have done this everywhere to position things.
+Do not use lots of spaces+ to position things sideways.
Make a tab in the ruler where you want something to line up to and then use a +single tab+ to jump to it.
The same goes vertically. Type one return between paragraphs and use paragraph settings such as +space before+ to determine how far apart paragraphs should be.
Avoid long lines of hard to read small text. Use 2 columns in each of the long wide text boxes to improve readability and add line spacing to open up the text.
If you need me to walk you through individual settings, just ask.

Pages disappear when viewing and printing

On our Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1) 64-bit computer, using the Reader application directly (not through a browser), we have been frustrated with blank pages appearing while viewing and printing.
This happens in Adobe Reader 9.5.0, 9.5.3, and 11.0.06. (We had been experiencing these problems with 9.5.3, so uninstalled and installed 9.5.0, then updated to 11.0.06. Same problem appears in all versions, but now is exceptionally bad in 11.0.06.   At one time we had updated to Reader 10, but reverted to Reader 9 because Reader 10 would not center pages correctly when printed, especially when Fit to Page was used.)
When we open a file, pages initially display correctly. But when we begin to scroll back and forth from page to page, the page images start disappearing. When we print, pages may display correctly just before the print button is pressed, and then may disappear after pressing the print button. If it disappears before the print function has completed, blank pages are output.   If a multi page document, the first few pages may print correctly then blank pages.
Once a page goes blank while viewing or printing, it does not restore. One must close the PDF file and open it again.
We have over 200 documents of 30 to 50 pages each, which are printed on a frequent basis and then bound. It is extremely annoying and costly to have blank pages output when there should be info on the page.    We have been printing these documents for eight years. Two years ago started using a brand new Windows 7 computer for printing PDF files, but the blank page issue started surfacing about 6 to 9 months ago and is getting more frequent.

If I highlight text in a pdf, all the text on the page disappears when I next open the saved document. How to retrieve my text?

When I use the highlight tool in a pdf document and then save the document, the next time I open the document the highlight is still there, but the whole page does not contain any text anymore. Totally blank. How do I retrieve my text?

Well, you need a PDF viewer – and that would be Adobe Reader.
Those parameters only work for web-served documents, not for local ones.

All pages disappear when I enable parsing for my SSI in Server 6.1

I have Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 and Windows 2003 web server. I enabled parsing in order to do includes. Whenever I enable the parsing for all html files, all my pages just completely disappear. If I disable it, the includes don't work. Does anyone know what is going wrong? I'm desperate.

"Disappear" might make sense to you, but it's too imprecise for us to help you. What actually happens when you access a .shtml file with your web browser? What does your browser's View Page Source function display? What is logged to the access log? What is logged to he errors log?

Mail disappeared when acct deleted

Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help.
I deleted an email account which is inactive and I am no longer using.
When I did this, all emails in the inbox for this account, and in all all other mailboxes associated with the inbox for this account, disappeared from the mail app, replaced by blank space, even though all these messages had already long ago been downloaded by the computer from the server.
Does anyone know where these already received incoming messages reside on the computer, and how to view them?

What you saw is exactly what I'd expect to happen when an email account is deleted.
If you don't see any remnant of that account in "yourhomefolder"/Library/Mail, then your only option may be to restore that content from a backup.

Pinned/saved websites in the "new tab page" disappear when restarting PC

I'm having some problems with the new tab page. I pinned 9 websites that I use on a regular basis but this morning when I went online again, the pinned websites weren't on that page any more, instead, random websites.

Pages disappear when exported to swf

Hi all. I've got a document that I'm exporting as an swf to post on an etrading site. The problem is, I've got pages that are not appearing int he swf. For example, pages 1-6 show up fine in the .swf, but page 7 is blank eventhough there are objects on the page, then page 8 shows, page 9 doesn't, etc. I've browsed through the users forum to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas what may be going on? The whole document is 64 pages plus a few intentionally blank for formatting purposes, so I don't really want to have to redesign the whole thing. Any ideas would be great! ks

Yes, the pages that are missing in the swf are visible when the file is exported to a pdf.

IPhoto storage not disappearing when I delete photos! HELP

Hi all,
My iPhone 4S only has 16 GB and I wanted more storage. I noticed that my photos app costs 2.1 GB so I decided to transfer my photos to my MacBook Air via iPhoto. I then deleted all of those photos on my iPhone. So I still had my photos but on my macbook instead of my phone. I assumed that my 2.1 GB on my photos app would disappear and would say like 0 GB used but it still stays at 2.1 GB being used in my photos app yet I deleted all my photos!!!
I hope somebody knows why this has happened or knows how to fix it.

Thanks everyone for their answers, I tried both you suggestions but still no luck. I then turned off photos in iCloud and it worked. Also it says in my usage...
used: 3.2 GB and available 9.5 GB, that adds up to 12.7 GB so... what about the rest of my 16 GB what happened to the other 3.3 GB?

I have drawn some maps in pages using shapes and arrows. When I delete a shape a little grey dot appears that cannot be deleted. Any ideas?

I am using shapes and arrows to create concept maps in Pages. After saving the document I have opened it again and tried to make changes.
When I delete an arrow or shape a grey "Do not" sign pops up. It cannot be highlighted or deleted. My map now looks like it has grey measles.
Any idea what is happening?

Select all the objects that you want in your map.
Menu > Arrange > Group
Copy, then Paste into a new blank page.

Page Content Disappears When Adding WebPart SP 2010

I have been working on a project (wiki page). I have added WPs. There are only 2 on the page. One day one of the WPs was not there I am trying to upload the same one. When I do, the entire page disappears. So I close it without
editing it and it returns. Any suggestions would be great. I have not altered the master pages.

You can try checking if the other web part is already on the page or not. Someone might have closed that web part.
At the end of your page URL type
contents=1
e.g.
http://intranet.contoso.com/Project1/Pages/Default.aspx?contents=1
If you see your two web parts there then Delete the one which is not visible on the page. You may have to checkout the page for this.
Now go back and add the web part back and see if that works.

Page content disappearing when longer than 1 page

When creating a Welcome page or About Me page in iWeb 08, all page content completely disappears if it is longer than one page and I scroll to the second page.
The outline of the text box still appears to be visible, but none of the text displays inside of it. Also, the rest of the graphics/content for the page disappear as well. The only thing left is the background and the outline of the text box that I was previously typing in.
This makes it impossible to create a page that is any longer than one screen length on my machine. Anyone else see this issue or a fix for it?
Currently using a shiny new 2.4Ghz iMac and just started with iLife 08 today.

The problem isn't the actual page length of the page. The problem is with the rendering of it within iWeb. Once the page is published all of the content shows up in a browser as it should.
The problem occurs within iWeb itself when trying to edit and add content to a page. Once I do any scrolling on a page within iWeb all of the content of the page completely disappears. The only things left are the background and the outline of the text box that is selected. Everything else is gone, including the footer, etc.

not all mail providers sync the send mail part of the mail box
you can try to contact yahoo if this is the case with them
