Pages dont load in safari

for some reason when i upload my website to the web once i try to view it in safari on the the welcome page will load up somtimes.
when i clip on other pages such as photos or podcasts and about me it loads a blank screen in which i need to click refresh to view anything.
am i doing something wrong?

No responses to this one yet eh? Bummer. My page just started doing the same thing. It was working great for almost a year, then all of a sudden a few weeks ago this started happening. My page is:
www.tlolson.com
If you visit the site in Safari you get a blank page. You have to either hit refresh or just click anywhere on the page and it will load. This only happens in Safari and just started happening. I host through 1&1 and forward to my .mac account. I have found by searching this forum that the fix is by switching to HTTP redirect instead of Frame redirect. This fixes the safari load issue, but I don't want to use HTTP direct because the website title and meta description end up being my .mac address instead of tlolson.com.
I am hoping someone out there has another fix.
Thanks!
Brian

  • Certain pages dont load...

Hey everyone... I've searched and read through serveral discussions on this, but I am having trouble loading certain pages and things in safari... most specifically, google.com doesn't load, and when I am on youtube, videos don't play. I click play and it says its loading, but it stays like that... never plays. I've reset my safari settings... cleared everything out...
Like I said, Ive read through several discussions already, but I havent found any real answers... there seemed to be quite a few people having somewhat similar problems... could an update or fix from apple be on the way?
Thanks for whatever you guys come up with.
    Derek.

i went to the tcp/ip stuff, but i dont really want to mess with any of that stuff... i dont really know much about it and dont want to screw anything up... plus, i never changed any of that stuff in the first place.... im still stumped... and finding more sites that dont load for me... cnn.com, hbo.com
Derek- Sorry for the missing "? " mark in my first post, it was a question in regards to the DNS#.
Umm so do you have Dns #'s entered, in DNS Servers: field ?
Frankly, if it would "screw anything up I would not of recommend you try it.
It is easy peasy, enter the #s either that I posted or from your ISP, see if they are included on the PortForward page or get them from them, then click Apply.
(If you use Earthlink the opt out dns #s will not be included on the Portforward page nor will Earthlink support give those to you, let us know if those are needed, or search in AD.)

  • Some pages not loading on Safari 7.0.1

Yesterday, many pages (Youtube, Facebook, Google, apple.com) stopped loading on Safari 7.0.1. I followed one thread that recommended checking my proxies, and I deleted some comment from my proxies settings, but that provided temporarily relief for facebook, while other pages still won't load. I followed another thread recommending turning off my firewall, but I'm a little hesitent to do that. The day before this started, I returned from a business trip, so the only thing I can think of is that I caught something from the airport wifi.

Close Firefox Control-click the Firefox.app icon Select "Get Info", and then check the box, "Open in 32-bit mode".
    thank you

  • Web pages not loading in Safari 7.0.5

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Air 13 inch, running on OS X 10.9.4. I recently updated to the latest OS from my AppStore Updates settings. I have Safari 7.0.5. Since last one week I have been facing issues in loading webpages on Safari. I use a local internet provider and I use internet over a WIFI. I have a 4mbps speed from the provider.  The webpages such as Facebook and Youtube, gmail etc open up very quickly. But many other pages do not open at all. The progress bar on the internet url just completes 15-50 % and then the page doesn't load. I don't even get an error message.  Some webpages where I find issues are speediest.net.in or gmatclub.com etc. Even some of the apple discussions don't open.
I tried the following on my system to resolve the issue
    1. DNS Prefetching: Set the DNS Prefetching to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
    2. Tried to disable DNS Prefetching
    3. Chrome also behaves the same way
    4. Tried using Guest Login. Issue is still the same.
    5. Reset the WiFi router. Issue still the same
To make sure there is no issue with the internet provider or WiFi router, I tried on a windows laptop and strangely everything not only works fine but also at the optimum speed.
I am facing similar issues on the iOS device iPhone 4S.
Can some expert kindly help me in resolving the issue. I am not sure what is causing this.. OS Upgrade or something different.
    Thanks
    MS

    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the Network preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advancedbutton and select the Hardware tab. Select
              Configure: Manually
    and
              MTU: Custom
Enter an MTU value of 1280.
Click OK and then Apply. Test.
You must apply the change before it takes effect.
If the issue is resolved, experiment with higher MTU values until you find the highest one that works. The higher the MTU, the better the network interface will perform.
If changing the MTU has no effect, restore the Configure setting to Automatically.

  • Pages not loading with Safari, loads OK with Firefox

    Hi
The site is fine on iMac intel and iBook but on G3s with safari I get this
    # Exception: TypeError
    # Message  : Value undefined (result of expression IWAllImages.hasOwnProperty) i s not object.
    # File     : iWebImage.js, Line:18
The pages don't load and the images don't load, works alright with firefox on the G3
I don't know if it works on a pc... strange because it all worked fine before iWeb 08
    Anyone else seen this?

iWeb 2 writes page code that requires a modern (Web 2.0) browser.
Safari 3.1.1 is but Safari 1.3.2 is not.
Use Firefox or other more modern browser that can be installed on your older OS.

  • Pages not loading in Safari

My iWeb site pulls up as a blank white page (in Safari) until I press refresh or I click on the screen. I've had viewers tell me of the problem.
    The site is www.langschwartzwald.com
This wasn't always a problem until a recent update and it is site-wide.
    Thanks,

If you can find that thread subscribe to it and you'll be notified of any new posts.
I did have that problem on one site so published to a folder on my Mac and tried it from there. It worked there so I replaced the files on my iDisk with those on my Mac and that fixed that particular site. I use Transmit for uploading to my iDisk. It's about 3-4 times faster than trying to mount the iDisk on the desktop and go thru the Finder.

  • Pages not loading with Safari 4.0.4

I am using Safari for Microsoft windows with xp SP3. Most of the time it works fine but: If I click on a link on a page the page goes blank with the busy icon spinning and just sits there. If I click [View] [reload page] then the new page appears almost instantly. This is a bit worrying when for instance I click on a pay button as I'm not sure if the payment has happened or not.
    Any advice appreciated

Just checking something. Does IE seem to be bahaving properly on the PC at the moment?
(IE and Safari use a number of the same settings in Internet Options for their connections, and this has a bit of a sniff about it of one of the sorts of issues caused by problems with those sorts of settings.)
If IE is having trouble, which particular version are you using? 6, 7 or 8?

  • Pages not loading on safari browser

I bought this from an acquaintance- so it's used but seemed to be working fine at their house.  My wi-fi connection does not seem to be the problem.  Yahoo mail works fine, just not regular browsing on safari.  I'm wondering if this ipod got damaged somehow?  Anyone have advice?
    Thank you!

This does not seem to be due to certificate. This seems like a site connection problem.
There is a link between Security Certificates and these browsers. Newer browsers do not by default let you go to sites which use invalid certificates or are expired. But Certificate related errors talk about the error, such as whether the certifying authority is trustworthy, or the certificate is valid, or is current, etc. In that case, Firefox 3.0 stops from moving ahead but tells about the error based on certificate. IE7 should also behave similarly in that scenario.
    - Ensure that the site is up and running and the application server is not down for any reason.
    - How do you see it on IE6 and IE7?
    - Get HTTP trace and see what errors you get.
    update with the results.

  • Safari - Pages Not Loading

I am having a terrible time today. My internet is working fine but I can't get pages to load in Safari.
It's just started happening today. I updated Safari with the new OS Update.
    Partial Pages Upload
    No page Upload
Pages just stop loading and I can't even close the tab via the grey X in the corner
Is anyone else having these problems.
    I've reset Safari
    Rebooted
Not sure what else to do.
    Thanks
    Bill

    Hi Bill ..
Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue ..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, try this DNS server.
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
    Click + and type:
    208.67.222.222
Click + again and do the same.
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Do you have any extensions or other add ons configured within Safari?  If so, please remove or disable all of those, restart Safari, and try accessing the web page again.

  • Safari 4.0.3 running OSX 10.6.1 -  Pages are loading but NOT thumbnails?

Just upgraded to OSX 10.6.1 running Safari 4.0.3 last week - everything was working BEFORE the upgrade - but now for some reason I have an issue where pages ARE loading including larger banners, text flash animations etc, but if the site contains small thumbnails they are not loading.
The icon in the web bar spins and spins for ages and then suddenly where the thumbnails should be I get the blue question make as if the links are broken - which there not as this is happening to well know sites such as youtube gettyimages and ebay and its just to the thumbnails?????
Take ebay for example, the homepage page loads in fine, and if I search for a product - the page with the listing all loads but not the thumbnail images, yet if I click a listing the full page loads without a problem?
Any advice, I have cleared the cookies and javascript database all to no avail?

    HI,
    Try Safari Maintenance

  • In Safari I can define what pages are loaded when I open a "New Window". How do I achieve the same in Firefox (and supress the current begavior of it opening all of the tabs that I defined as my home page all the time)?

I am returning to Firefox after having used Safari on Mac for the past year. One thing I liked about Safari was that I could define what page gets loaded when I used the File Menu command to open a new Browser Window. I defined this as opening up with my Bookmarks Menu where I then was able to select the page I wanted to go to.
I have not been able to find a way to define this in Firefox and was surprised to see that "New Window" in Firefox opens all of tabs that I've defined as my Home Page.
Is there a way to manage this?

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Pages that load in all other browsers do not load in Safari

Our Web application uses HTTPS and a Thawte-issued 256-bit AES SSL certificate. In IE, Firefox, and Chrome, the pages of our Web application load absolutely fine. In Safari 4.0.5, the pages do not load in the browser. When looking at the source for the page, there absolutely is content there, but appears to be cut off after a certain number of lines. I've tried a couple of pages, and there doesn't seem to be anything incorrect about the HTML at the line directly after the last one that Safari was able to pull back.
I read in some forums that this may have to do with content chunking and/or variable content lengths. I read in others that it may have to do with serving images from non-HTTPS servers while using an HTTPS connection. I think the former sounds more likely.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? This is not the known "page doesn't load in Safari, but then does when I access it in another browser" issue. It doesn't matter how many times I successfully access the pages in other browsers. They are never rendered in Safari.
Does anyone know how to control the behavior of Safari (or even of Apache HTTP Server 2.0) when it comes to responses of variable content lengths and/or response chunking? Or am I completely off the mark?
    Thanks,
    Mike

It turns out that Apache's mod_jk.log, which is used to store the output of communications between Apache and Tomcat, had become full. Once it reaches 2 GB, Apache can't write to it anymore. Once we stopped Apache, stopped Tomcat, rotated out that mod_jk.log, and restarted both Apache and Tomcat, our Web application started working again in both Safari and much more reliably in Chrome.
