Pages freezes up when opening

I'm using an older version of Pages (4.3) and an older OS X (10.7.5), but this has been happening sporadically for a while. Usually, a restart has corrected the problem but not this week.
When I open Pages, all the windows I left open last time are opening… good, this is what's supposed to happen.
But then, a progress bar appears in the centre of the screen, and everything freezes up. I can't even quit out of Pages without doing a Force Quit.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas?
(So far, I'm opening pages docs as pdfs in Preview, then copying everything to Word to get done what I need to get done, but this is clearly not a good long-term solution!)

Hold down the shift key when you launch Pages '09 v4.3. Try saving, and closing some of your open documents, too.
Any reason you are not exporting your Pages content to Word .doc, and not opening that in Word? You can also open Pages documents directly in Preview.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

How to stop newtab-page flickering/refreshing when opening new tabs by ctrl-clicking thumbnails?

Often when opening new tabs from thumbnails in newtab-page (about:newtab) the whole newtab-page refreshes itself or otherwise flickers. This sometimes causes that some new tabs are not opened when ctrl-clicking multiple thumbnails in a row. Does the newtab-page recalculate after every click what thumbnails it should show and this could cause the flickering effect? (Although I don't see changes in thumbnail order.)

According to your post, my understanding is that you had issue opening the top left cog.
I suggest you to check whether you restrict the site in your browser. Please follow the steps:
Open the site in the browner, click tool->Compatibility View Setting->Add the site to be displayed in Compatibility View.
Click Tool->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites.
Click Tool->Internet Options->Security->Restricted sites->Allowed level for this zone: Medium.
Click Tool->Internet Options->Security-> Custom Level -> Cookies->OK.
Click Tool->Internet Options-> Settings -> Privacy -> Block content on sites from services that could track my browsing ->Off.

Got it. I tried booting with MOD_AUTOLOAD set to yes, and it was working fine. Looks like I needed to specify some more modules in my list.

When FF is closed, the next time it opens it returns to the previously viewed pages. Multiple tabs open.

Is anybody elses itunes freezing up when opened?

when i open itunes, the rainbow loading wheel pops up and i cant do anything and have to force quit itunes. This only started after i got the new update

Since updating to the most recent version of iTunes I'm experiencing the same type of issue. In my case it appears to be related to iTunes and virtual memory. I've seen it gobbling disk space just when open, not being used, with nothing playing. In the space of a couple of minutes 4Gb of disk space evaporated. The app. shows as not responding in the Dock pop-up menu. Force quitting freed the space again. Left it running yesterday and it eventually ran out of disk space. There is an attendent slow-down in performance of the whole machine (naturally enough) with lots of SPWODs.
I've tried reinstalling and I'm considering reverting to the previous version if I can.

App Freezes in when opening a link in a pdf displayed in StageWebView, is there a solution to this?

When viewing a PDF in a StageWebView on ios6 iPad3, opening a link is setup to open externally. This works on tapping links, however holding down on the link, and pressing 'Open' freezes the app (forces you to close the app completely and reopen). Is there a way to fix this behaviour? Or is it possible to block out the dialog from even opening?

You are correct in that you cannot consolidate iTunes accounts into one account. I think that your best bet at this point would be to contact iTunes. There is probably no other way to resolve this now.

Adobe Reader XI freezes computer when opened from Excel hyperlink

My computer has been frozen multiple times after opening a pdf from a hyperlink in Excel. Sometimes it randomly freezes after reading the document for a while and sometimes it freezes when I try to close the document. I have Adobe Reader XI 11.0.06, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, and Excel 2010. The mouse will still move sometimes once things freeze up but clicking doesn't work and alt+ctrl+del doesn't bring up task manager either, so I have to hard reboot. Anyone have a fix for this?

I guess, It has problemsaccessing the temporary directory.
This temporary directory needs to be set for file upload for portal as well (KMC/UWL system admin for custom xml files).
I just released a note in regards xml file uploads, (which would also give you an error if you can get out to the page )to this in particular to the Universal Worklist:
Here are somethings to troubleshoot
1. Test file upload in another part of the portal, for example in
documents in Knowledge Management. Are you able to upload a document there? If not, then there is definitely an issue with the environment variables.
If you can't upload a document in KMC, please check:
o Check note number:898637 Upload to KM / ICE Package Upload.
o Ensure that temp/tmp directories are not full.
o Ensure temp/tmp directories have permission 'Everyone = Full
Control'.
o Once you have checked the directories, try to re-access the system admin page on the portal.
Check too that:
2. For 700 system, go to the Visual Administrator: Under Server ->
Services -> Web Container, open the properties tab and check whether
MultipartBodyParameterName is set to "com.sap.servlet.multipart.body".
o Do not include the quotation tags ("").
o Restart the instance.

Jsp page getting error when opened after opening a form

Hi,
I have created an OA page, there is a link and a button in this page.
Whenever I click on the link, a standard jsp page will be opened in a new window.
When the button is clicked a standard form will be opened.
But when I click the button, and then click on the link then an error page is getting displayed with 'Logged in user does not have permission to access this page.' message.
Please help me on this.

Do you mean to say that the link works if you click on it without clicking on the button? The jsp you are talking about is a seeded one or a custom? --Shiv

Why is Photoshop CC freezing indefinitely when opening files?

Anytime I open a file in in Photoshop CC it will freeze for indefinite periods of time, even when my laptop is left for hours. A few updates ago, the program worked perfectly smoothly, even with multiple large files opened, but even small ones now make it freeze up. I end up having to force close the program in Task Manager because no other programs will work at the same time when this happens.
I don't know what I'm doing or what might be wrong with my laptop, but the program used to work like a charm and now it doesn't. I haven't noticed problems with any other programs. However, I am running a trial program right now instead of the full version like I was before.
Why might this be happening and what can I do about it?

This is more likely to do with your operating system than Photoshop, even if other applications are able to save OK. We can see you are using Windows, but what version, and how long has it been installed? And what are the hardware specs?
Something that might cause similar problems would be if the operating system was being starved of resources, like if you have Photoshop > Preferences > Performances set with Photoshop using 100% memory. If you are using Task manager to close Photoshop, have it open to the Performance tab so you can see what is happening when you try to save. Is memory and/or CPU maxed out, for instance?

How to make ADF page center align when open in mac 1920×1080

Hi all,
we have created an ADF application using 1024*786 and display is working fine. But when I open the application in safari browser in mac pc having 1920×1080 screen size the display start from extreme left top which takes 1024*786 screen and leave the left area blank. I wanted my fixed screen to come in the middle of the browser 1920×1080 .
I have tried the following option by setting inline style

margin-right: auto;
width: 1024;
in <af:document tag but it doesn't work.
How can i move my page to center of the screen for higher resolution browser?

Pages & Numbers crashes when opening a document ,no documents found when iCloud is turned off

I have just upgraded my iPad to IOS7 and my MacBook Pro to mavericks running the latest iTunes and also update pages and numbers.both crash when old documents are opened and the programs will only function if iCloud is switched off in settings but only when creating new documents .I have upgraded for more storage space and have 6GB free, many of my documents are invoices and are now unavailable to me so the situation is becoming quite desperate.
Any help would be useful .

You need to upgrade using the downloadable Combo OSX 10.6.2 upgrade.
