Pages is not compatible on my ipad??

I started downloading pages for my ipad, the app was slow in downloading than stalled near the completion. I got charged by the app store $9.99 and it doesn't work. when i try to re-instal it it saids pages is not compatible with my ipad...... Now what?

Pages requires iOS 4.2.8 or later which has been out for quite a while. iOS 5 is about to be released in two days. You can update your iOS version today to 4.3.5 and start the download all over again. If you have been charged already, you should be able to download again for free. Check that by going to the purchased tab in iTunes on the iPad and see if it shows up in there.
If you don't want it - even though the terms of the iTunes state that all sales are final - plead your case with Apple and ask for a refund.

  • Unable to sync or backup my iPad2 with the new iTunes. I keep getting the error ""iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.". I've deleted all the old backups but still get this.

I'm totally frustrated by iTunes and don't know how to solve my problem. Like a lot of people on here I'm not able to sync or back up my iPad2 with my iTunes (version 10.4.1.10). I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My iTunes worked just fine until the 10.4.xx updates came out and since June I've not been able to back up or sync the iPad2.
When I connect and try to sync I get the error message, “iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.”
I've deleted all the old backups so there are none on my system. I've deleted iTunes and re-installed the 64bit version several times but it has not made any difference. I've read and followed several suggestions on these boards about how to remove and reinstall everything but none have worked yet. I'm stumped here.

I had the exact same thing with my shuffle - same error message saying that it was corrupt so I restored it (wiping everything in the process) and the same message came up as soon as it reloaded. Thank god I didn't try it with my iPod or iPhone first. So many issues with this new version of iTunes!!!!!!!!

  • I am unable to back up my iPad on my pc. Message says backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.

I have been unable to sync my iPad with my pc since November 2013. The message that I receive is that "iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad. My iPad is running the most current update and my iTunes program is also the most recent update. What could be the reason for and solution to this problem?

You might want to try deleting your old backup. That could be the source of the problem.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>Your backup name. Click on your backup to select it, and then click on Delete. Click on OK.
Connect your iPad to your computer and try again.

  • Bbm not compatible on my iPad

  • IOS4.2 is not compatible with all ipad models?!

    Hi everyone,
I've read the whole http://www.apple.com/ipad/software-update/ page and I saw the line "Not compatible with all models." at the very bottom.
I'm really worried if I buy an ipad of 16GB wifi model this december, will I get iOS4.2 working on my ipad?
    Thanks!

I did miss his question I think. For iOS4.1 Apple says:
    Compatibility
The iOS 4 Software Update works with the second-, third-, and fourth-generation iPod touch. Not all features are compatible with all devices.4
Thus, I would expect iOS4.2 to a least NOT applicable to the first generation .
Regarding the question, the superscript is by the iPad not the Ipad. iOS 4.2 will be applicable to all iPads.

  • Episodes (some) of a podcast series "not compatible with this iPad"

Lots of questions on here about this topic but didn't find the answer to my question. I download and listen and sometimes view iPad Today from TWIT TV. Lately, I have an error message that "Episode xxx of Ipad Today is not compatible with thisiPad". Not all episodes, but about every fifth or sixth. I have an iPad Third Gen, and have not had this problem before. In my list of podcasts in iTunes, the "imcompatible episodes" show about half downloaded. I download the same podcasts on my iPod 5 with no problems. What's happening? Thanks.

Sorry, message was not "not compatible" but "cannon be played". Screen shot of actual message:

  • I am trying to open an interactive chart but I am getting a message saying i need flash and it is not compatible with the iPad, is this correct or is there some way around it. Thank you.

I am trying to open an interactive chart but I am getting a message saying I need to install flash but it is not compatible with iPad, is this correct or is there some way around it. Thank you.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

  • Web pages are not fully functional on iPad

Until recently I was enjoying my experience with my iPad 2. I went to Netflix to write a review for a film and was unable to do so.  For whatever reason, I am unable to select the desired stars for my rating.  While obviously this is not a deal breaker, it is frustrating knowing that some web sites are not fully functional with my iPad. I hope this changes in the future. Cheers.

Here we are over 2 years after the original post and I am having this problem too. Having it in both Safari and Chrome. When I first got my Ipad 3 I was able to rate movies (select star from red to yellow) on the netflix.com website. Somewhere along the line that quit working. Everything else on the site works even radio buttons on page where you select types of movies you watch and how much. At first I thought something on the website changed but then I got a new Ipad 3 at work, low and behold, I was able to rate movies by selecting stars. So what's the difference? Tried deleting history, cookies etc. Removing apps and rebooting. Long story short, I reset my Ipad deleteing all user info and settings and setting up as a new Ipad and it still doesn't work. I can't find any settings on the website itself that affect this. Anyone?

  • HT4623 I tried to update my iPad (wirelessly) from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 7 and I got a message that this version is not compatible with  my iPad - any ideas?

I recently tried to update my operating system, but I could not upgrade from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 7

The Original iPad can only be updated to IOS 5.1.1
Does your iPad have a camera?

  • Message "this app is not compatible with this iPad" What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to update my apps and when I touch update all I get the message 'this app is ot compatible with this I-pad.  this has never happened before, what am I doing wrong?

One or more of the apps you are updating is seeing that you have not yet gone to ios5.  All the iwork app changes, for example, will not upgrade until you do.   What you can do is tick them individually.  If that particular app will update, then it will.  If it won't it will tell you, and you can go back and get them later after you do the ious 5 update.  Last night i decided to update before i started the ios 5 upgrade, and there were 16 apps waiting for up date.  All but 5 did update, but not the i works, and 2 others.
It takes a little longer to do them 1 at a time, but it is better than staring at the stupid 'not eligable' notice.

  • ITunes could not backup the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad

Hello everyone. I recently got this problem which prevented me from updating to the latest version of iOS (4.3.5 at the present time). It basically does not allo me to backup my iPad and therefore update the iOS. I have tried deleting previous backups ( Edit>Preferences>Devices) but I have found none in the little window over there. I then searched for a folder called "MobileSync"(C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync) in the iTunes folder but I couldn't find it. I rebooted my iPad but the problem is still there.
Has anyone found a solution to my problem? Does anyone has this too?
Looking forward to you reply. Thank you, Stathis.

I solved it! I ended up doing a backup on another computer and then manually putting the backup directory from the \MobileSync\Backup\ directory on to a flash drive and then replacing the correpted one on my computer. Now it does the backup in seconds and everything syncs normally!
I hope this helps someone else that wasn't able to fix their iTunes device backup.

  • I have an ipad2 and everytime I try to use the camera conector kit to read a sd card I got a message saying that the device is not compatible withe the ipad, can any one help me please?

    Subject:

First, try gently blowing into the dock connector on your iPad to make sure there's no debris in there. That can sometimes cause accessories to malfunction. If that doesn't clear it up, try rebooting your iPad:
To reboot your iPad, hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears. If, during this process, a slider appears on the screen to power it off, ignore it and keep holding the buttons down.
Rebooting your iPad can solve a lot of problems.

  • I have the original IPAD, otherwise known as planned obsolescence.  I have been getting update notices for Numbers and Pages but no matter what I do cannot get the update.   Finally today it says my IPad is not compatible?

I have an original IPAD, which I am beginning to call "Planned Obselescence"  I am constantly notified when opening Numbers and Pages that I have an update.  However, when I try to update it wil not allow it.  It tells me to go to ITunes, which I have done, and still it will not download it, saying that my IPAD is not compatible.   All of this if fine if Apple wishes to do things this way, but I just want to stop being notified every time to update it, if I am not going to be allowed to do so.

The updates for Numbers and Pages are perfectly compatible with the iPad 1. I'm not sure what you are doing; perhaps a better explanation of what you are seeing is needed.

  • Ipad Apps not available for original Ipad

I own an original Ipad. I am a photographer and have discovered that many apps are not compatible with my Ipad but only the Ipad 2. Apple should address this issue and require app designers to make them compatible for both the original and Ipad 2. The original Ipad owners made the Ipad 2 more successful and Apple should support us being able to purchase all apps for our Ipads. This is only fair.
I own two Macbook Pros, one new Mac Pro, two iphones and two ipads. I am a great supporter of Apple and they need to support us.

...Apple can make the app developers do whatever they want. They can require all apps be compatible with both ipads. But I think you know this.
Yes, in fact many developers already complain that Apple already forces them to modify their apps.  Note how many developers complain that their apps are rejected, thus requiring changes to the app.
But Apple also wants to sell more iPads and iPhones.  So Apple could also force developers to make a camera based app only work with camera based devices.  Oh, wait, they seem to already do that.   Or perhaps it only applies to "photographers". But then, you would think that a "photographer" would want to sell their non-camera iPad1 and get an iPad2.  (I'm a photographer and I know I want an iPad2, although I'm quite satisfied with my iPad1.  But then, I also prefer to edit my pics while sitting at my computer rather than the iPad since, as a photographer, I already have an array of editing tools on the Mac and PC.)
Don't blame Apple for making a better iPad that actually will fit your needs better.  Go get an iPad2 and be happy rather than whine and try to prove you're right, which you are not.  (And if you're going to complain that you can't afford it, then as anyone else will tell you, sell your iPad1.)
(And you of course will want the last word, so I will end here since it does not appear that you are not being open minded and refuse to even consider any other viewpoint.)

  • Are Nintendo DS headphones compatible with an iPad's headphone jack?

Are Nintendo DS headphones compatible with an iPad's headphone jack? iPad 3rd gen. Wi-Fi iOS 5.1.1

Headphones will fit fine. Now if you want to use a headset (speaker+microphone) that's another matter. DS headsets, which have a seperate prong for mic input, are not compatible with the iPad.
