  • I have installed Adobe flash 11.0 repeatedly and it will work for other browsers, but Moxilla will not recognize it. How do I make it detect it?

I have Windows 7 running on a new Dell Inspiron.
Whenever I use Mozilla Firefox browser - it says I do not have Adobe Flash 11.0 installed. I know I do because if I open Explorer all sites needing Adobe Flash work.
I must prefer to use Mozilla - is there a way I can get firefox to recognize the Adobe Flash I have installed?

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
*page will detect only installed, '''''enabled''''' Plugins
    '''<u>Install or update Adobe Flash</u>'''<br />
#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#To update/install the ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''', repeat the process, '''<u>but use IE to go to the above website</u>'''.

  • Homepage verizon yahoo has small size and print but ok with other browsers and other web sites ok

The home page comes up reduced size with small print. Can not get it to change with minimize-maximize clicking.Works okay with other browsers. All other web pages ok including email.Using windows 7

The Maximize/Restore button only changes the size of the Firefox window, not that of content on web pages.
You may have accidentally zoomed out on that site, or the site may simply have smaller text than others.
    # To reset the zoom level, hold down the '''Ctrl''' key on your keyboard, then press '''0''' (the zero key).

  • Why am I directed to Google's homepage when I conduct a Custom Search? I'm using FF 8.0 and this worked before on 7.01 and now it works with other browsers.

I'm using FF 8.0 beta. I have a tool bar called Recruiting Bar. From the toolbar, I'm directed to a Custom Search page. When I used 7.01, I would have results using the Custom Search page. I am now directed to Google's home page using 7.01 and beta 8.0. I'm was able to run the Custom Search without any hitches in the past and now I can only use the toolbar on other OS's.

Are your plugins up to date? You can check here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/. Also I would suggest updating to Firefox 5 please see this support article to guide you through the update process [[Updating Firefox]].

  • Animation fully runs in Chrome and Opera, not in any other browsers

    All,
I created an extensive animation with images and sounds (*.mp3 and *.wav files) using Adobe Edge Animate for a website I'm creating for a client. I've uploaded everything to the host, which is Shopify, and the animation works in Google Chrome and Opera but not in any other browsers. In other browsers, the preloader displays but when it's finished, it just shows a couple images of the animation randomly then freezes on one of the image, meaning that it doesn't animate. It just shows an image and gets stuck.
I'm really confused and stuck on this issue. I've been trying to get it to work for a long time now and I'm running out of time. I read about the .htaccess issue in other threads and I have an e-mail out to Shopify to see if they can help me with it. Other than that, has anyone else run into this problem? Any advice?
Thank you so much in advance!

flasshy, kindly refrain from posting the same question more than once - you are getting assistance in your other thread. It is best to carry on with it there until you get it resolved.

  • I designed my website to have email links and now the work in other browsers but not Firefox

    HTML code
    href="mailto:[email protected]?subject=Web Site Inquiry"
This should open the email client but nothing happens in Firefox. It works in other browsers.
    How can I fix this?

This can happen if your script doesn't close all of the HTML tags it opens. Some past threads on pages not rendering fully (usually the missing text is there in the source view, Ctrl+u):
    * [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/846246 Part way through a particular web page, HTML stops being rendered]
    * [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929969 text is missing from webpage]
If you do not spot the problem, is there a publicly accessible page that you could link to so volunteers could take a look?

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

  • I having trouble with a scrolling page......where i have a video.  the pages between the video and the previous page jumps and show a gap between the pages.....i'm not sure if it is the spped or what?

I keep getting a gap between scrolling pages of a video and a regular page.  Not sure why.  I keep adjusting the speed, but still I get a gap in the pages as it scrolls.  Thanks.

Hello cor-el, I apologize for not letting you know if your suggestions about my question worked or not. I came down with pneumonia and then caught the flu on top of that. Today I tried what you had suggested about disabling the hardware acceleration and it didn't make any difference. You had also gave me a link to he article about plug-ins and when I clicked on the list of the current plug-ins I have the following is what came up:
    Fox-it Reader Plug-In for Mozilla, 2.2.3.703
    Microsoft DRM 9.0.0.3250
    (drm netscape network object)
    Microsoft DRM 9.0.0.3250
    (drm store netscape plug in)
    Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.43
Windows Media Player Plug In Dynamic Link Library 3.0.2.628
    (np dsplay d11)
    Windows Presentation Foundation 3.5.30729.1
When I then clicked to see if there were updates available, the only one that it said was updated was the Shockwave Flash. The Windows Media Plug In Dynamic Link Library, said the status was vulnerable and the other three said the status was unknown. Does any of this make sense to you and are there things that should be on the plug in list that aren't? I apologize for the length of my post but I wanted to give you as much information as possible. Thanks for your help

  • Timeline jumps and skips ahead online

I have use stop actions on each frame to make the audio stop
and wait, but the movie still jumps around when it plays online. It
works okay locally, not sure how to use a preloader on each frame
so that all the audio will load before each frame starts to play.
Please take a look at the files here
www.tosoti.com/southgate/southgate.html, or .swf, or .fla to take a

If you zip the fla and upload it someplace, I'll download it

You can make a timeline pause for a few seconds by adding a
little Timer delay routine right after each image. I can give you
the delay routine for AS3, if that's what you're working

  • When I CLICK on a link on a web page, firefox dos lot load the page in a new window. All other browsers load the page under the link. I do not have "Block poups enabled".

When I navigate to a web page that has a link, such as the link to a data sheet and click the link (usually an insert page), firefox does nothing.

Does the new window have a media player in it or use the Flash plugin for any other purposes? If so, it could be the protected mode bug described in this thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/955659 Opening New Windows and Shockwave Flash]. There are some workarounds listed there.
Let us know whether that helps.

  • Can I make my web page stretch and shrink to fill different sized browsers?

    Hey team,
I just built my first site in iWeb: www.dylanjamesgeorge.com
    I'm using iWeb version 3.0.2
I set the page width to 1200px because that's what looks best on my screen, however when I look at the site on a larger or smaller screen it doesn't look good. When I check out some other websites they manage to make their content stretch to fill different sized browsers. Something about using relative sizes (%) instead of absolute sizes (pixels) for the page dimensions?
I know iWeb doesn't offer this option, but I'm wondering if there's anyway to change the code manually.
I'm just trying to avoid people with small screens having to scroll to see content and people with large screens being left with lots of void space on either side of the screen.
Thanks in advance for your time.
    Dylan

    Hey Roddy,
Thanks for your reply. I've read that before, but what I'm trying to do is get the content on my page to move as the browser window gets smaller. For example, if I grab the bottom right hand corner of my browser right now and make the window smaller, the content of this page will adjust itself to stay centered until the window is too small, THEN it will add a scroll bar. Any idea how to make this happen in iWeb?
