Pages keeps asking me to upgrade

I have been working on a Pages document on various Macs for the past several years. I am currently working on a mid 2007 Mac running OS X 10.9.5 and did the update to Pages 5.2.2 when it first came out. Several times now, when I open this document to work on it, it tells me I need a newer version OS X and an update to Pages. I've actually un-installed and re-updated the software once before, it works fine for awhile, and then the problem comes back. How can I make this a permanent fix?

When you upgraded to the new pages your pages '09 was moved to a folder "iWork '09" in your applications folder. It is not that hard to have the '09 app open when you try to open a file last saved in 5.2.2 - you will get the error message.
Wayne has a tip Need newer version of Numbers to open file that could explain things further.

You will probably want to download the newest version of iTunes (iTunes 11.1) directly from Apple and install it on your computer if you are having issues updating. The link for the download can be found here:

Pages keeps asking for registration code. Help!!

I had downloaded a 30 day free trial of Pages before I actually bought it and now that I bought it, it keeps asking for a registration number but I don't have one since I bought it off the Mac app store. I cant save any documents or anything! Can someone help me???

Have you deleted the old Pages copy you downloaded? If not, open Finder, go to Applications folder and do it. Also, delete the Pages copy you downloaded from the App Store. Then, open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and type:
sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
Finally, open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download Pages again

Me too.
It is asking me for my iTunes password too often.
I would be okay with it _if it was just for when I hit UPDATE for an application, or buy a new one_... but it seems like it's constantly asking for my iTunes password.
+I'm not worried about somebody ringing up a bill, If my phone is lost, I can just call Apple and have them remote wipe the phone and adjust my account.+

What does this have to do with Notes?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I am using 10.6.8. with Safari 5.1.10 As far as I can see, their is no update or upgrade.

Blackberry Desktop Manager would not start..keeps asking for "ApploaderWebSL-upgrade[1].msi'

try gettign an offline application of the Framework then change your user access control (Windows) to allow you to make changes to Windows programs. install the Framework and then install your Destktop Software. FYI, please first create a restore image before you start the whole process

Pages keeps asking me to save a document when I'm just scrolling through it

Is this normal behavior? I'm just scrolling through a document without making a single change, and Pages asks me to save it every single time. I don't remember Pages '08 having this issue.
Is it just me? I've got all of the Save Preferences unchecked and it still happens. It's incredibly frustrating that I cannot tell if a document has actual changes made, or if it's just being annoying.
Please tell me this is a Pages error and not just me.

It seems that using the 'two-finger scroll" marks the documents as "Modified" so needing a Save.

Okay, I see what you are talking about now. My impression from your first post was that Pages kept popping up some message about saving, but apparently you are talking about the normal save question if you try to close a changed document or quit the program - right?
The two-finger scroll comment helped me replicate it, though I don't match everything you said. Here is what I find:
1. Don't have to select anything at all.
2. Does it on one page document too (it does take every line on the page so many that is a factor).
3. I'm on a 13.3" macbook so not all of a single page fits on the screen so I have to scroll (is that your situation or can you fit a single page on the screen?).
4. If I use the two-finger scroll, after about 3-4 lines, I think, the little circle icon that says the file is changed will get the dot in it.
Okay, that doesn't help much, but at least I can confirm your situation and add some other details.
If you can fit a full page on a screen and a single page doesn't have this problem, but I can't fit a single page and the problem still shows up for me, that might be a small clue for someone - Apple at least if this is a bug.

Yahoo mail redirects my email page to another trap page that asks me to upgrade. Is there an extension I can use to redirect from that site?

I would like to know if there's an extension, or if I need to write a script so that Firefox will stop a redirect to a trap yahoo page, that yahoo causes when I try to access my yahoo mail account. Yahoo redirects from my email page every time I try to access it. If there is no extension I can use, can you explain what I should use to write a script? And where I can research to learn how to write it.

Why does the download of the free upgrade to firefox not install. Instead it still keeps asking me to upgrade

we are trying to download the free upgrade to Firefox 8, It acts as though the download is happening. After it completes, we still get the notice that we are using an old version of Firefox.

Lightroom 4 keeps asking for catalogue upgrade every time

Hi,
I have upgraded to LR4 from LR3, went through all the steps and created a new LR4 .lcat catalogue, but every time i re-open LR4 I get the prompt to upgrade the catalogue again as below:. I repeated the upgrade but same thing happens each time. Now, I am "choosing a different catlogue" and manually selecting the LR$ catalogue I created, I check the box to open this every time but it wont stick....
The LR4 shortcut wont stay in the Mac dock either...
I am using Mac Lion....have had other issues since I upgraded from Leopard so dont know if this is a unique issue?
Any suggestions?

do you try to open the upgraded catalog(for example: catalog file is EAP_LR3_Laptop-2.lrcatalog) manually:
Steps: navigate the EAP_LR3_Laptop-2.lrcatalog file in Finder; then double click the catalog file(alternative way: right-click(control+click) the catalog file, prompt open with context menu, select Lightroom 4 application)

From your Apple menu  drop down menu click Software Update.
Or open System Preferences then select Software Update > Check Now
You may be able to avoid the upgrade issue.
