Pages locked.

I built my website several years ago using Dreamweaver 4. I
just got a new Vista machine and have been upgrading my software. I
transferred my website local file folder to the new machine but
when I open a page in DWCS3 I could not edit any pages. In split
and in code view I have been able to edit but not in design view. I
get some warning that the changes will be saved but will be lost
with a template up date. It seems to me that there is something
wrong and any page created but the template is no longer editable
in design view. The "content" areas show up but are not editible in
design view. Same with the original template.

How to set email notification on home page lock screen on iphone 4s . Settings did not work, what am I missing?

I have a iphone 4s. I cannot get any email notifications on the home page/ lock screen. Also to find out if i have mail i have to press on the email icon and it will update , then it will show i have mail. I talked to a verizon technician and went trough all the settings . He suggested to reset the settings to default , if that does not work i need to replace the phone. Any suggestions ? Am I missing something?

What are you rmail settings? Sounds like manual pull versus push, is this correct? If your email provider does not offer "push" mail like gmail or iCloud then change from manual pull to hourly or the interval you prefer; more frequent can degrade battery performance.
Also, go to Settings > Notifications and select "Mail" and move "view in lock screen" to on to see message previews in the lock screen.

Cannot write to the page lock

Hi,
I keep getting this message when trying to edit my
default.aspx page on my ICE enabled site.
Could not write the page lock.
REason: Could not write data to storage.
It is an asp.net page that does not have active content. I
fixed the problem caused by the master page. I can edit similar
pages on the site.
I created an exact copy of the page and renamed it
default1.aspx and I can edit it with ICE so I know the problem is
not in the code.
I have checked the server to see if there is a draft of the
page somewhere. There isn't.
I checked my settings for the site and they are working. I
can edit and save every other page but this one.
Any ideas?

Hi Cory,
I just tried deleting the other editor's account and removed
it from my list of websites and recreated only one editing account
hoping that it would delete previous records of editing activity.
It didn't help.
Are those records stored on Adobe's server or in the Includes
folder? I recreated the includes folder and uploaded it to the site
and that didn't work either. I can edit all pages except the
default.aspx page. I have searched the code and can't find anything
different than on the other pages that work.

Able to edit items on a page locked by another developer

Is this a known issue, or should we raise a bug? In Apex 2.0 if a developer locks a page, any other developer can change items on that page using the links created by "Show Edit Links". The "Apply Changes" button is then available and changes can be successfully saved.

This has been fixed in 2.2.

Two Separate Problems - 1) Some website elements missing in Internet Explorer and 2) Site manager page Locks up

1) I have two forms created in FormsCentral embedded on my website www.videoaldeco.com . They do not appear in Internet Explorer. They work in Firefox and Safari on my iPhone. However, the problem only occurs on this computer. I tried another PC and the forms appear fine in Internet Explorer.
2) When I go into Site Admin Console page from Muse, Internet Explorer locks up almost every time. Only Windows Task Mngr can shut it down. Then it wants to recover page. Recovering page only locks up again.

1) I am not able to replicate as it works on my end , form loads fine on IE. Please let me know the IE version you are using.
2) I don't see the same issue with site manager , please check the browser plugins and try to disable all and then check.

Libraries locking up / iWork Pages locking Aperture ?

Hi,
my company uses a shared AFP volume where multiple Aperture libraries are stored. For some time now, users report that they cannot open some libraries. They appear to be locked or corrupt.
Repairing permissions or rebuilding the database does not help. Sometimes it helps to restore a library from a backup, but this solution is not permanent.
I checked:
file permissions. They are correct, on both server and clients
file system. It's OK.
Aperture and OS X versions. Both up to date: Aperture 3.5.1 and Mavericks 10.9.2 13C64
Caches. Cleaning them does not help.
Aperture preferences. Resetting does not help.
When comparing a locked library with a backup, all files and folders look OK. But there's a weird thing:
Inside the Database/apdb folder, there are hidden files with the suffix -conch. Am I right that they are some kind of SQLite lock files?
However, when I delete them, they get re-created instantly.
Each time I tried deleting them, I investigated the file owners of the re-created -conch files. Most of the users didn't have Aperture running, but all of them had an open instance of Pages.
What's the link between Pages and Aperture? And how can I prevent Pages to lock up Aperture libraries?
Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

How are your users accessing the Aperture libraries? From the same user account or from different accounts? Simultaniously?
Or only one user at a time?

The files don't have anything to do with Pages. I am seeing the same files inside a small test library on a server, browsing from a Mac, where I don't even have Pages installed.
When an Aperture library is opened on a shared volume, a file "lockfile.pid" will be created in the apdb folder. This lock will be removed, when the library is closed again.
The problem appears to be your general set-up. Aperture is neither a network database nor a multi-user database application. If you access Aperture from different user accounts, the permissions inside the Aperture library will change and you have to run the Aperture Library First Aid tools "Repair Permissions", before another user can access it from a different account.
Also, an Aperture library on a shared volume is not supported. The Aperture library needs to be on a volume formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled), or you are risking database curruption. And it should be locally connected. Network access is not supported.

The iPhoto recommentation will also work for Aperture.

Home button and page lock

Is it at all possible to lock the home button and lock the ipad on a
page/screen? My 17 mo old granddaughter loves to play with her apps but continously hits the home button and gets frustrated when her apps close. Gramma would love to lock the pad on the screen with the baby apps so my calendar, contacts, etc don't get tampered with by my electronic genius baby girl!

Your granddaughter is likely old enough now that this may not still be a problem for you. But for the sake of information, there are a few solutions, some of which were not around until recently:
1) Jailbreak your phone and install the IncarcerApp, which can disable the home button. Probably only a solution for those who already have jailbroken their device (which, of course, Apple is not a fan of, so it technically voids the warranty).
2) Get a BubCap home button cover. It's like your black tape idea, but they are thick enough to physically deter toddlers from pressing the home button. The clever thing is, the BubCaps are still flexible enough for parents to active the home button. They work on iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches.
3) Coming July 2011 from Fisher-Price is a slobber-proof case for iPhones and iPod touches that actually cover the home button. It won't help with an iPad, but figured the info might help someone reading this thread.

Secure Page lock icon on browser

Page locked by tempate or translator

I am trying to simply delete some HTML from a page and I get
the following error message.
"Making this change would require changing code that is
locked by a template or a translator. The change will be
discarded."
The code I'm deleting is simple HTML and it is within the
 and ending tags.
What the heck is going on, and how can I fix this?? thanks

This usually means one of the following -
1. You are working on a child page, and trying to delete code
that is in an
uneditable portion of the page, or
2. You have invalid HTML on this child page somewhere,
causing the template
engine to try to fix it, and in doing so it discovers that
it's working in
an uneditable portion of the page

If i have to close Firefox after attempting to load a page locks the machine up, what setting can i change where it will not automatically try to reload the page when i restard the browser?

Say i try to open a pdf link for example (although not limited to) and Firefox stops responding; if i close the browser and open it again, it will attempt to reload the same page that just locked it up. How do i turn this off? I get the "Well, this is embarrassing." error fairly often (after 'end task'-ing twice) :/

What page crashes Firefox? On the "Well, this is embarrassing." page you could choose to restore all pages except for this "bad" one.

To change what pages are opened on each start-up/restart (whether a crash occurred or not), you can go to
Tools->Options->General->Homepage->You can change which page to use on start-up.

Flash Player10 download page locks up and freezes can't get update.

Hello,
I have been trying for a long time to upgrade to Adobe Flash Player 10 with no success. Everytime I go to the download page it locks up and I can't click on the active x control to allow the download. I get this Dr. Watson error which says: Postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I click send error report the screen freezes and then I have to do a ctrl, alt delete to get the task manager and get out of it from there. I have no idea why this keeps happening. This is the only webpage/site that does this. I am running windows xp and internet explorer 8. I can't play certain games on facebook, or view any videos on websites, or upload videos to my catster account which I am paying for etc that need the flash player10 update because I can't get the update! Any ideas???

Ok, Adobe support has looked into this issue and feels it might be an issue on some machines with DEP and are working to make sure it is no longer an issue.
In the meantime they suggest removing Adobe Download Manager from your add/remove programs and installing the software manually.

To download adobe Flash and Reader you need to start IE without add-on manager running to do this go to Start, Run, and put in "iexploer -extoff" without the quotes and run. Then go to adobe.com and click the usual buttons and when you get there and click install, you'll need to click the "Your download will start automatically, if it doesn't click here to download" message.

Pages locks up on start up

when I run pages it locks up on start up. I installed the new pages 06 and it has the same problem. any ideas?

How did you install iWork? From the CD?
Was there a demo version of iWork on your machine? See this article:

Preferences get corrupted sometimes, although I have not had this happen in OS X. You can try deleting the Pages prefs found here:
Macintosh hardrive/Users/(your user name)/Library/Preferences/ delete the file: com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
When you open Pages again a new preference will be created.
Did you move any Pages components?
Sometimes docs get corrupted. Does the failure to load occur when you are trying to open a specific doc or when you open the Pages application?

HOme button does nothing, power button blacks out the screen but doesn't lock, Assistive Touch does nothing. The only way out is to hold Home and Power till it restarts.
if anyone's game to try it, I'd be interested to know if it's just me. iOS 8.1 on ipad 4.

I am always game. No problem here other than the page is a little jerky when swiping up or down. It certainly didn't lock up my iPad.
Clear Safari, force close it, then reset the iPad again, with the home and sleep buttons.
Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data. Close Safari now.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Page Locking Up

Trying to determine why Contribute3 is locking up and not let
me edit a page. After I edit an publish the same page a couple of
times, the software thinks another computer is currently editing
the same page.
Any suggestions.

This is exactley what is happening to us also. It is

I have teachers editing pages that I have made . My test
teacher has four classes that she wants to post homework to each
day. She can do two classes and then the third time she go to post
to a different page, contribute locks her out!!! Please tell us why
this is happening.
Here is this teachers site. The homework pages are links on
the left hand side. We have purchased an expensive site license for
our whole high school and we are most dissapointed in this problem.
My teachers will not be able to post homework if this keeps
happening and our money spent on a site license will be wasted!

Pages lock function

Why is it I can only seem to lock the first item I add to pages. Subsequent shapes or images won't allow me to lock them.

Or it seems that if I have a page of photos I can lock some but not others

IPad 2 Pages Locked up - Documents frozen...

I have some very important documents locked up on the cloud.... They have syncronized onto iCloud and are now all completely inaccessable... They are not lost - they're just locked up with a loading bar across the bottom... I'm not sure what to do - My iPad is connected to a very stable WiFi and I have full access to the internet on the iPad - but just cannot get the sync to work correctly...
Is iCloud just locked up because of all the traffic?

I have a similar problem. I am wondering if it is confusion since I had a previous MobileMe account. But same problem, the Pages documents went into the Cloud and I can't retrieve them on my iPad or via a browser. They just show an "updating" bar.
