Pages, Numbers and Keynote are "waiting" even after soft reset

the 3 apps first "greyed" on home screen, did the soft reset (pressed home + sleep buttons). they kept "greyed" after reset, and I can't even see them in Purchased in app store.  the only way I can open them is to search for them in app store, and tap open.

Please don't type in all capital letters. It makes your post harder to read.
Have you checked the Applications folder to see if the programs are there? If they are, drag them to Launchpad.

  • Pages, Numbers, and Keynote Won't Quit

I downloaded Pages, Numbers, and Keynote this weekend... Noticed some odd behavior with all of them.
If I start any of those apps, and then quit them, they appear to stop running... No "light" under the App's icon in the Dock...
However, even if "quit", each of these applications will show up in the Activity Monitor, as well as showing up in the "Force Quit" window.
These apps don't appear to be using CPU cycles, but they do take up some memory...
Is continued backround "running" of these apps a feature, or is something else going on behind the scenes...
(The above screen-grab shows Pages in the Activity Monitor after Pages has been quit).
Anyone else seen this behavior?  Thanks for your thoughts...
    Bob

Well...a day after the installation it seems that Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are now quitting properly, with nothing running in the background....

  • My iPad Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps Stopped Syncing with iCloud Drive

My iPad Air (iOS 8.0.2) is synced with my iCloud Drive, and all of its apps (Notes, Contacts, Calendar, etc.) sync perfectly with iCloud Drive... except for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
When I open Pages, Numbers, or Keynote on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2), my Mac (Yosemite beta), or my iCloud.com page, all files are there and all apps sync perfectly with one another. It's just Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on my iPad that refuses to sync. When I open my iPhone Pages app, I even see the text "Updating" at the top of the screen. But not on my iPad version.
I even factory restored my iPad and started all over again. And for a moment, the Pages app got something. A few docs and one folder appeared. But then it stopped again. And I haven't been able to repeat the process.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello lippyloggy,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iCloud Drive:
    Using iWork with iCloud Drive
    Options for iWork customers
    1. Upgrade to iCloud Drive later this year when OS X Yosemite is available.
Choose this option if you’d like your documents to keep up to date with your apps on OS X Mavericks or earlier. Note that until you upgrade your iCloud account to iCloud Drive, you won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com or the Share via iCloud feature.
If you don’t upgrade to iCloud Drive at this time:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8 and across devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You won’t be able to use the Share via iCloud feature.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud won’t be accessible to collaborators until you upgrade to iCloud Drive.
    2. Upgrade to iCloud Drive today.
Choose this option if you’d like to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com and the Share via iCloud feature. To access the most recent versions of your documents from a Mac with OS X Mavericks or earlier, you’ll need to go to iCloud.com and access Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from there. On a PC, you can install iCloud for Windows 4.0and set up iCloud Drive. If you upgrade to iCloud Drive now:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8, Macs with OS X Yosemite, PCs with iCloud for Windows 4.0, and iCloud.com. (OS X Yosemite will be available this fall.)
Your documents will no longer keep up to date on devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You’ll be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You’ll be able to use the Share via iCloud feature on iOS 8 and iCloud.com. You’ll be able to use it on OS X Yosemite later this year.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud will be accessible to collaborators.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • Updating Pages, Numbers and Keynote in OS X Yosemite

I have a mid 2009 white MacBook, on which I have just installed OXS Yosemite.  I am prompted to update Pages, Numbers and Keynote in the Mac App store.  When I try to do this (also when I try to update via software update notifications), I am then told they can't update because they were not purchased with this Apple ID.  I presume I set up my Apple ID after I'd purchased this MacBook with iWork preinstalled.  I'd even be happy to repurchase these apps, but the app store won't let me because it just says 'update' instead of giving me a price.  Any thoughts?

Here is a link to App Store Support. Apple iWork applications were never preinstalled on Apple hardware prior to 2014. This was a separate purchase, either earlier on via iWork '09 DVD, or later by OS X App Store purchase. Your preinstalled comment suggests to me that your Mac was pre-owned, and someone else installed iWork '09 applications using their Apple ID — which would block you from updating through your own Apple ID.
The iWork ’09 applications that are currently installed have considerably more functionality than the new (rewritten) applications that prompt those update notices. You do not have to update to Pages v5.5.1, Numbers 3.5, and Keynote 6.5. You should however, update the iWork '09 applications via the Apple iWork 9.3 updater.
If you want to disable the nagging update to newer software messages in Yosemite, I suggest you visit System Preferences > App Store. Check Install system data files and security updates, uncheck Download newly available updates in the background, and then uncheck Automatically check for updates.

  • Pages, Numbers, and Keynote

I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 8 and while I was doing this I noticed I could get Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for free on my phone. I remember they were supposed to be free on my macbook pro when I bought it but I never downloaded them when I got the computer and now I see that they are all 19.99. Why are they not free for the computer anymore? Since I downloaded them to my phone will they transfer to my mac when I sync? I'm a little afraid to sync and lose them. I know that may sound silly. Does anyone have insight on any of this? Thanks for any help you can give.

iOS apps will not run on a Mac. Mac apps will not run on your iOS devices. You can store iOS apps in the iTunes content library on a Mac or PC for safe keeping and syncing to multiple iOS devices.
If you qualify for free Mac versions of the iWork apps with the purchase of a new Mac, they would have been in the Purchases pane on the Mac App Store after signing into your store account. You would have been able to accept them into your account and download them.

  • Pages numbers and keynotes not working on handoff, but everything else is?

Pages numbers and keynotes not working on handoff, but everything else is, map, mail etc. Am I alone?

Really appreciate your help with this. I am a bit of a novice here.. but.. After some more searching on this issue I notice your comments (cut/pasted  below)  with respect to this router and bridging mode. You mentioned that I should update my firmware on this router and that this would (if I am interpreting your reply correctly) facilitate my LAN to LAN connection and of course using this router simply as an access point and more to the point -  having the use of the guest network. So my question is even if I did update firmware,  seems I would still require 3rd party software to make this work? (re your last sentence in your comments below)  Just need to understand the process and determine whether or not it is worth it (or maybe I should upgrade the router) but I don't want to change the configs of the network wired router at this time... and need to use the E2500 or facsimile as  simply an access point with  guest network functionality,  Thanks much appreciated.
"Again: some E series routers already support wired bridging in firmware, i.e. to use the router as simple access point.
This is and was always possible using a LAN-LAN setup instead.
The problem with the LAN-LAN setup is, however, that you have some limitations accessing the network storage or network printer, e.g. the router doesn't have the correct time and you cannot access the storage from remote using port forwarding through your main router.
These limitations have been overcome with the wired bridge mode (internet connection type = bridge mode).
But again: this has absolutely nothing to do with wireless bridging. That's something completely different and is not supported on Linksys routers in any firmware version so far. To do wireless bridging (i.e. the Linksys routers connects wirelessly to another main router) you need 3rd party firmware."

  • Buy Pages, Numbers and Keynote?

I bought a MacBook Pro retina less than a year ago and I thought Pages, Numbers and Keynote would come with the purchase given that's what it says on this site. Do I really have to buy them so I can have a "basic" computer?

You need to have either owned previous versions of the iWork Apps or have bought the Mac after September 2013.
You already have a "basic" computer, what have you been doing for the last year?
If you want the latest iWork Apps (not a good idea IMHO) you can buy the iWork '09 boxed DVD for US$19.99 from Amazon and that will entitle you to free upgrades to the current versions, but be warned the latest versions are actually inferior to the previous versions and are buggy:

I purchased my MacBook Pro in August 2013. Am I suppose to have Pages, Numbers, and Keynote already installed on my MacBook Pro? Because I don't have them.

You may have to purchase them as Apple did not offer them with new Macs until after October 2013. Check the App Store. Whether free or fee, many are discovering that Pages v5 and later is the antithesis of word processing functionality. You would be better served with Office for Mac 2011 update 14.4.5, or the free LibreOffice.

  • I have pages, numbers and keynote on my macbook pro, but when i try to use the apps on my new iMac it will not let me save

I purchased Pages, Numbers and Keynote for my MacBook Pro and iPad last year.  I just purchased a new iMac for my wife and it came with iWorks.  When I try to save a document on the iMac it tells me I must buy an iWorks serial number, but the App Store shows the applications as installed and will not process the request.  How do I correct?

Did you pay for iWorks to come preinstalled on the iMac? Because it sounds like what you have is a trial version, which is why it is stating that you need to buy a serial number.
I suggest that you delete the entire trial iWorks suite. Once they are safely in the Trash where the Mac App Store can't see them, you can sign into your account on the MAS and download the MAS versions that you own a license to use.

Before you can download free apps:
    1. Make sure you are using IOS 7 (ignore)
    2. Make sure your iPad is registered in My Support Profile.

  • How to install Pages, Numbers and Keynote again in iPhone ?

    Hi,
I bought an iPhone 6 plus and it comes with pages, numbers and keynote with it.
2 days ago those I accidentally deleted those apps
Now when I wanted to download the Apps again it says $9.99
Given that in my Apple ID I haven't bought those apps.
But I bought the iPhone that comes with those apps
So I thought I should be able to re download it
Is there a way to restore those apps without purchasing them?

Did you ever back up our phone to your computer? if yes, those app should be part of the iTunes library. Sync them again to your device.
You could also try to set your device back to factory settings and see if the apps are installed during this process.

  • I was told at the Apple store that Apple was now offering Pages, numbers and keynote free with the Mavericks download.  I noticed that I got the free when I downloaded the newest operating system on my iPad.  True?  And if so, how do you do it?

I was told at the Apple Store when Mavericks was introduced that Pages, Numbers and Keynote would be offered at no charge with Mavericks.  When I downloaded Mavericks, I could not figure out how to download them without the charges.  When I downloaded the most recent OS to my iPad, I got a prompt to download them.  Can someone tell me how to download them without the charges?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It's not correct at all. It is true that Apple is offering Numbers, Keynote and Pages for free, but only for users who have purchased a Mac after October 1st, 2013, and for existing iWork '09 users. If you have not got iWork '09 and you purchased your Mac before October 1st, you need to pay for these apps.
The new iWork version (Numbers, Keynote and Pages) is criticised by its lack of features. Instead, I recommend you to get LibreOffice or, if you need the most complete productivity suite, Office for Mac. Give LibreOffice a try first

  • I have purchased Pages, Numbers and Keynote for my iMac and wish to transfer them to my iPad 3. Is this possible and if so how do I do it?

I have purchased Pages, Numbers and Keynote for my iMac and wish to transfer them to my iPad 3. Is this possible and if so how do I do it?

If you want to have Pages, Numbers and Keynote on the iPad then you will need to buy the app versions from the iTunes app store - the Mac version (OS X) is not compatible with the iPad (iOS), they are different operating systems.

  • Is there any way I can "Move" Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from my Mac to my iPad?

I just got an iPad, and I plan to sell my Mac... So my question is, can i move products I paid for from my Mac to my iPad?  The only ones I want to move are Pages, Numbers and Keynote.  If there is a way, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    -Eduardo A. Varela

Applications for your Mac are coded for the operating system on the Mac which is OS X.
Applications for the iPad must be coded for the operating system on the iPad which is iOS.
Hence the applications for the Mac will not work on the iPad.
