Pages, Numbers, Keynote won't launch even after reinstall
After a new OS (10.5.8) install none of my iLife (09) or iWork (09) apps worked. I reinstalled iLife successfully. But, my iWork apps won't launch even after a reinstall from the original DVD and updating to 4.0.4
My trouble shooting steps so far have been a reinstall from DVD, software update, permissions repair.

First deinstall iWork. You can download Yvans script from _https://public.me.com/koenigyvan_ named
uninstall iWork '09.zip. Then restart the computer. Install iWork from the DVD and update it. Try the apps inWork again.

My itunes won't launch even after reinstalling. Looked in itunes folder and somehow lost itunes library? HELP!
The first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevent it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it. You can download a free version of Ewido here.
If that doesn't cure the problem, try deleting the iTunes preference files:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
and
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Data\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.) Delete them or if you want to be able to put them back if it doesn't help, drag them to some other location. This will force iTunes to run the setup assistant the next time you launch iTunes. Note that you'll have to go back and set any preferences you've changed from the default.
If that still doesn't work, try this:
Bugie: Perform a Thorough & Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes/QuickTime.
Hope this helps. -
ITunes won't launch (even after reinstall) Win XP PRO
Hey everyone,
I've been using iTunes for about 18 months now. The program is great and I can't imagine using my computer without it. I've recently finished adding artwork to all of my albums (over 300), which I've searched for myself in google, so you can imagine my frustration right now, as I'm unable to launch the program
There isn't really much to say. I try to open the program, but right after I double click the iTunes icon, I get a windows error message (the kind of error that allows you to send an error report to microsoft.. screenshot http://tinyurl.pl/rnxz - you probably won't understand the language, but maybe it'll help somehow).
I tried completely removing iTunes from my computer and then installing it again - the exact same error pops up.
It is also the same whenever I connect my iPOD and it tries to launch iTunes. So this basically means that I'm unable to update or sync my iPOD at the moment
Does anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong here?
PS. the problem didn't start after I installed the newest version of iTunes! It started suddenly. One day I come back home and try to launch iTunes, and it won't budge.replying to hasuinterceptor

my Polish isn't good, but i can recognise an "itunes has encountered a problem ..." message box in many different languages.
first let's check to see if this is associated with a broken or missing QuickTime. (itunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work properly.)
try launching your QuickTime. does it:
(a) launch perfectly fine?
(b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
(c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?) -

IPhoto '11 suddenly not launching even after reinstalling
I am currently running version 10.6.8 and was using iPhoto '11 for many months without any problems until today! Suddenly slideshows disappeared, so I checked for any updates - which there was one - and downloaded it. I then restarted my computer however afterwards iPhoto wouldn't launch at all! It gives an error message:
"iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of Maac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X."
Tried restarting again just to make sure. Nothing but same error message. So, reinstalled the Life '09 disk (since I had purchased iPhoto '11 online). Even after reinstalling I am only getting the same error message. No idea what to do now... Please help?!Did you trash the Receipts before reinstalling?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List. -
Firefox won't launch even after re-install
Firefox hung and I forcequit. It would not restart. I cannot locate the sessionstore.js file -- it is not where Help says it should be. So I reinstalled it. It still won't launch. Then I restored it from Time Machine - still won't launch.
I cannot find any preferences files to remove.hello pedro, this crash is caused by the "Media Accelerator" part your nvidia graphics driver. please see if you can selectively disable it in the nvidia control panel or even uninstall it. otherwise please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]], or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in ''firefox > options > advanced > general''.

Acrobat X won't launch even after following all posted solutions
I have a licensed academic version of CS6 running on a win 8.1 64 bit computer. The software has been installed for < 1 week and was licensed immediately. Acrobat X won't launch. It shows me the window with a large screenshot of what I was previously looking at. I then have to crash out of it. I tried deactivating and reactivitating it last night and it worked fine. One solution also said to update the software. So I did. Now it won't work again. I tried the following solutions:
1) Run the patch in windows
2) Run the acrofix patch through cmd
3) Deactivate/reactivate
4) Update software again (no new updates anyway)
5) Look for and change name of cache.db (no such file)
What can I do? This is a huge hinderance to my work. Thanks! The software has been fully activated including getting my serial number through registration of an academic account, activating my online account, and activating the account. There are, as far as I can tell, no further things that I need to do. By reinstalling the software I was able to get Acrobat to work again, but I am afraid now that I won't be able to run any updates.

About a week or two ago, Firefox stopped loading. It tells us that the page in unavailable. This only happens on our home computer which is a Dell running Windows XP. I think this happened after we upgraded. Today, I tried reinstalling Firefox and it still tells us that the site is unavailable. (Windows Explorer also tried to block the download). I cannot figure out where to look on the computer for programs that might be blocking access.
I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan. -
ITunes won't launch, even after install or connecting iPod.
So recently I attempted to open iTunes through the shortcut on my desktop, but it wouldn't open. It would attempt to load, start up iTunesHelper.Exe, and then nothing. Helper.Exe would just sit there.
So when in doubt, Windows Media Center, right? Loaded that up, usually it works fine. I attempted to play a song and it gave me a message saying my file was corrupt and unable to play.
Finally, I decided to reinstall iTunes so it'll update to the most recent version. And to my luck, it installed! But every time I click "Agree" on the Terms & Agreements, all it does is start Helper.Exe. Nothing else happens.
Even connecting my iPod does nothing. It just gives me the Terms & Agreements screen again, which glitches out and opens iTunersHelper.Exe. Which in the end, does nothing. And I find it ouragous that I have to pay for techical support when it's a Software that was Free.
Any help? The Troubleshooter dosen't cover this issue.Anthing? Nearly 24 hours and the Auto-Updater prompted me to install the lastest version of iTunes. I did, still the same problem.

I have searched this support community and can not find a converstaion that has to do with no specific error box.
PLEASE HELP!!
I am so frustrated and about to just give up and deal with the fact I won't have iTunes againHi Kacey,
I suspect that somewhere in all of this your iTunes library database got removed. Here is my usual approach...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder (inside your main iTunes folder) should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
If I've misunderstood the situation please provide more details and I will do my best to help.

Motion 4 won't start - even after reinstall
Yesterday, I discovered that Motion 4 wouldn't open or save files. The menu just wouldn't open. Save As didn't work either. I tried to delete the prefs files, but the result was that Motion didn't open at all when I tried to launch it. I then reinstalled Motion from the original DVD's, restarted - and the same problem is there: Motion won't open. The spinning wheel goes forever, and there is no indication that Motion is able to launch. - Any suggestions? I have the lates versions of MacOSX 10.6 6 and Motion (FCStudio), I have 12 Gbyte RAM and I am using the iMac 27 inch 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5.
Sorry if my explanation wasn't clear enough. I used the suggested FCS Remover software (see above) to remove the apps, I then repaired rights, restarted the Mac, installed the complete FCStudio from the DVD's, ran the Software Update, restarted the Mac, tried to start first FCP, then DVDStudioPro, then Compressor - with the same result: none of them would load properly. The spinning wheel turned forever.
Later created a new user account (with Admin rights) on the Mac, switched to that user and tried to start FCP. The same result: the app won't start.
I started the apps from within the Applications folder, not from the Doc.
I was able to talk with a tech guy at Apple Support today, and the only thing he could do was to send me a document with instructions about deleting prefs. I already did that, with no result.
I guess I need help from an experienced support person to go through my Mac and find the reason behind this sudden and strange behavior. -
ITunes on Windows 7 won't work even after reinstall.
I've got a friends Windows 7 PC here.
iTunes has gone AWOL. It keeps asking for permission to makes changes and then won't start but the process is running in task manager (and the icon has that blue and yellow shield indicating it requires elevated priviliges).
I couldn't use the built in uninstaller as it just sits there doing nothing when I open it saying "preparing to uninstall" or something, so I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it and any other Apple software I could see on the computer.
And then downloaded and reinstalled it. Exact same problem. Asks for permission to make changes and
Someone suggested disabling "Apple Push" in MSCONFIG but that hasn't made any difference either. Apparently that has to do with a process called APSDaemon.exe
Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to backup his whole computer and reinstall Windows and everything else for him from scratch.Same problem here.
I am at witts end. I have uninstalled EVERYTHING labeled APPLE on my pc and restarted and reinstalled and I have the exact same problems.
*Double Click* to open iTunes. *Wait* ... Nothing Happens. *Open* Task Manager. Itunes.exe *32 is running under Processes.
Nothing is visible. Most of the time I can't even end the itunes process. I have to open up the comand prompt and type TASKKILL /IM /itunes.exe just to close it.
Is a windows reboot the only option? I have followed all of those links the support team keeps posting and to no avail.
