if I go to certain websites like people.com or usmagazine.com, I get a page full of computer language language instead of their home page. I have tried re-installing Firefox, but that didn't help.

  • Header and footer overlap on scrolled pages on certain websites

When scrolling down on certain websites multiple pages appear overlapping on the header and footer, eg Asos

    The version is 5.6.0 .
I think that is quite outdated .
But the error for the start body tag is coming in the xmlp desktop and i have the latest BI publisher.

  • Certain websites are garbled but are OK in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer

Some websites are garbled and hard to read. The same websites are displayed correctly with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and the Opera Browser
Just open the URL below and the problem will be very evident

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • Certain websites are unable to load?

I have the MacBook from 2010. Whenever I try to use certain websites, the same thing shows up. It says that Safari or Google Chrome is not connected to the server. My internet is connected and websites like Facebook and Youtube are working perfectly for me. I cleared the cookies, the cache and the history and nothing is working. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Instant solution. No idea why mine was set to 0 though. Thanks!
For those who come in later on with a similar problem, you just need to edit your config for
    network.http.sendRefererHeader
and change its value to 2
(2 is the default value. See link by cor-el for more info)

  • Certain websites are not resonsive on my Macbook pro!

So I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro. And I'm almost positive that this is an issue with the machine and not the internet. But whenever I go to certain websites (Pandora and You Tube) none of the navigational buttons are responsive! I try choosing other stations, or pausing video on You Tube and NOTHING happens. Like the sites are not letting me do anything!
Can anyone help me out here?? I'm thinking that it may be some kind of technical SOMETHING in my machine that's making it act buggy..... Thanks for your help

    Hi Dj Cj,
It most definitely sounds like something with the browser. With that being said... what browser are you using? What version of the browser? If you're using Safari, what if you try FireFox? If you're using FireFox what if you try Safari? How about a new user account... does the issue persist there as well?

  • Saying i am unable to load websites because certain websites are forbidden

i bought the comp of of someone and certain websites it says are forbidden, but the ones i would like to use are silly like you tube and radio stations and it will not allow me,and i dont know how to change the settings

You can check the connection settings and make sure that you do not use a proxy.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
    See "Firefox connection settings":
    * [[Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can]]
You can also check the settings in security software to make sure that you aren't getting blocked there.

  • Safari quits when new tab is opened, quits when certain websites are opened, safari quits when new tab is opened, quits when certain websites are opened

my safari quits when a tab i opened, and also quits upon opening for of certain websites, this just started several days ago for no apparent reason, why?

Post a crash report so we can try and help you.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash  information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply.
If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • Certain websites are being automatically redirected to another unwanted page repeatedly even if I use the back button

The last 12 hours or so when I've visited certain (reputable!) websites, as soon as a page has loaded I've been redirected to some random other site (usually some Mens Health or Weight Loss Secret crap). When I hit the back button the exact same thing happens. I've checked my Firefox add-ons and I've got nothing dodgy, I'm on a Macbook so I don't think it's a virus. I'm pretty computer illiterate so simple answers would be lovely, thanks

There are viruses for the Mac, of course, but a bad add-on seems more likely...
Could you test those pages in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?
If Firefox works better but none of the extensions look suspicious to you, do you want to post a list of them for review? A relatively easy way to extract them is as follows:
Open the support information page using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the upper left corner, click the Copy text to clipboard button. Then start a new reply to this thread and paste in the result. The Extensions are the second block of information. If you scroll down to "Important Modified Preferences", you can delete from there to the end.
Also, could you check that no unusual connection settings have been entered into Firefox?
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
Normally "Use system proxy settings" is selected, but you also could try "No proxy" to see whether that works any better.

  • Some pages of my website are not active from the home page

Built my website with iweb.  When I go to the site the tabs to all the pages show, but several of them are not active from the home page.  If I go to one of the active pages I can then click on the other pages.  Is there a way to fix this?  I've tried reloading the entire site, but several of the tabs remain inactive from the home page.  Any help would be greatly appreciate - Thanks,  Jodi

Thanks Roddy - I tried moving it down and it didn't work - That line is in the Template I used to build the site and is on every page.  I did finally get the command A to work, but there's nothing covering those bottom three tabs.
However, when I put my mouse in the area of the box where it has my name (the image you sent me above) it shows a link desktop/site/booker_files and I noticed I have one of the rss feed blue arrows, but I can't seem to delete it.  I wonder if that has something to do with it.  It does the same thing on the website if you hover with your mouse.
    Truly appreciate your help.
    Jodi

  • Won't open "pages" on certain websites, however, it acts like it wants to, even opens a "tab" for it and all I get is a white screen?

After about 5 minutes, it usually tells me that the scripts on the page aren't running or something like that. I can always get onto the homepage of whatever site I'm having problems with, but any other page within that site is a no go. My java script is on so not sure what else to check. I like the idea of using FF instead of Windows, but if this persists I'll have to go back. I need to be able to get info from certain sites for work related stuff.

I am having this problem with TONS of blogs... it is so frustrating. They all open just fine in IE. I prefer Firefox but I might have to switch to a different browser if this keeps up.

  • Urls are not coming in as links in sent emails; certain websites are not displaying correctly

When I send an email with a url/link, it does not come in to the recipient as a link.
Went to a website (bjs.com), which was not displaying images and had no functionality.
These things worked in IE8 so it's a Firefox problem.

    That is probably Hotspot Shield.

  • Problem loading page for certain websites since upgrading to FF 29

Since upgrading to Firefox 29, when I click on a link in my e-mail I will get a "problem loading page" tab with a server not found error message. This happens mainly when I get e-mails from BookBub.com and click on the link to go to Amazon to purchase books. I also get e-mails from BookSends that have Amazon links and when I click the links in the BookSends e-mails those work with no problems. However, the issue is not only with the BookBub e-mails. There are random links in other e-mails that will not work (Harbor Freight is another one that I've been trying to click an unsubscribe link in their e-mail and it will not work).
I have tried clearing my cache, checked the firewall to make sure Firefox is allowed to access the web, checked the computer for malware but nothing has worked. Please help! This is very frustrating. Thanks!

Please note that you have extensions installed that could be conflicting.
*Trend Micro extensions and Norton extensions can be problematic.
Can you disable those? Note that you do NOT need these to keep active virus protection. Norton is installed on your computer and is working system-wide.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Macbook air will not load requested pages on certain websites (ie. page 2 of shopping website)

When shopping on specific websites (Nordstrom.com as example) I cannot move past page one of browsing.  And, if it does advance to a second page, it wipes clean my search request and displays random items from the site.

    BDAqua,
thanks but already done.  I've tried an old laptop and although it was loading the offending pages this evening, it was taking 20 mins to load each page.  I need to go to my ISP, I reckon.
Yet again, all the relevant pages go down at around 1700 and then spring to life again at 2300.

  • Only in firefox: certain websites are blocked by google analytics, "getting data from.." on statusbar, why?

When entering some websites the startpage is shown fore maybe half a sec. then a blank page and message "getting data from google.analytics.com" on statusbar and a progressbar stuck on 3/4. No problem entering the site in IE.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
