Pages on iOS 6 and iCloud

After upgrade to iOS 6 on my iPad and iPhones, Pages cannot sync to iCloud on the iPad.
It shows the arrow on each file, which means that it is waiting to be upload to iCloud.
I checked all the settings and the are ok.
What should I do?

I found a solution.

  • Can Not Open Pages Document (iOS) anymore (iCloud)

    Hello,
I have an Issue with pages for iOS. I created a Document on my iPad and tried to open it with my iPhone. After Install Pages on iPhone and Sync with iCloud, the thumbnail of the document shows an inkpot for specific this document. The other docs works fine and the thumbnail Shows the First Doc- Page.  Since I install pages on iPhone, it is Not possible (on iPad too) to Open the Document.
In my oppinion there was a Sync Problem with iCloud. Did Anyone have those problems, or a Solution to restore this Doc?

Not sure about going through Dropbox as I use iCloud to share docs. I, too, was getting the error message about opening docs in Pages on iPad. Found a fix in another thread - rebotted the iPad - close all apps, then hold down both buttons at the same time. The Apple logo comes up for about 30 seconds then the pad comes back on. Docs open now. Hope this helps.

  • HT204053 how do I view, edit, sync documents with pages on iOS and mac

I can't seem to figure out how I can - find, edit, sync my documents that I have created on an iOS device or macbook, without going onto icloud.com/iwork?
Even if I download from the web onto my MBP edit content then how do I re-upload to icloud.
I have the documents and data checked in icloud preferences all apps and programs are up to date.
What I would like to do is like dropbox have a folder on my MBP that syncs with icloud which is connected to my iOS.
I have a dropbox account and can download a document to my iPad via pages review and edit but then cannot re-upload the newly edited version. This is frustrating and would be happy to use more icloud intergration but can't figure out how to get an iCloud folder in finder to sync with devices.
    I hope that make sense
    thanks for the help!
    Stuart

Currently any documents created or edited on your Mac, need to be uploaded AND downloaded via iCloud.com before you can share them with your iOS devices.
This is a user to user community, Apple are unlikely to read your comments, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.

  • Pages on Lion and iCloud

I just bought Pages for Lion - I already had it for the iPad and iPhone. How can I see my documents (which are in the iCloud) on my Mac mini now? I cannot find them! All is fine between iPad and iPhone.

The desktop/Mac OS X versions of the iWork apps have not been updated to take advantage of iCloud yet. In the meantime you can go to iCloud.com, sign in & click the iWork icon where you can upload & download files. You could also try e-mail or Dropbox. Hopefully we will see those updates, maybe even a whole new version of iWork, soon.

  • Pages on ipad2 and icloud

I just purchased pages on my Ipad 2 and the application is not showing up on iCloud.  Do I have to purchase pages twice - Once on my Ipad and Once on iCloud?
    thanks.

That depends on which operating system you are using.
If you are using 10.7, yes you need to download it as a pages document, edit it in pages and then put it back in iCloud by dragging it into the iCloud.com/pages window (be careful you don't get confused between old and new documents)
If you are using 10.8, you don't need to use iCloud.com at all. Pages on your Mac will see the documents in iCloud and let you edit and save with down/up loading.
This is what you will see in 10.8 when you open an iWork application. I'm using keynote again so as to be consistent with my previous image- but the same goes for pages)

  • Garage Band for IOS and iCloud

    Hi all,
I created a song with Garage Band on my iPad2 which I want to save in the iCloud, load it with Garage Band on my iPhone 4s and then export it as a ringtone.
"Use iCloud" is activated. According to the descriptions I read you have to tap the "Edit" button, select a song and then an iCloud symbol should appear in the Top Bar. But it doesn't. The same on my iPhone.
IOS 6 and Garage Band 1.4 on both devices.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Carsten

Have you activated iCloud as described below?
    Use iCloud with GarageBand
"Use iCloud" is activated. According to the descriptions I read you have to tap the "Edit" button, select a song and then an iCloud symbol should appear in the Top Bar. But it doesn't. The same on my iPhone.
IOS 6 and Garage Band 1.4 on both devices.
The cloud should appear in the top bar, as soonsas you activate "Use iCloud" and go to "Edit" mode. It will be dimmed at first, and become enabled, as soon as you select a song to share.
So, if you do not see the cloud symbol in the toolbar, enabling iCloud must have gone wrong. Are you signed into iCloud on your iPad and iPhone?
This is what it should look like, when you press "Edit" - fitst you see the cloud in the toolbar, as soon as the cloud has been enabled and after selecting a song the "Upload" banner will be shown.:
After the upload your song will show a cloud symbol:

  • Synching Pages between Mac and Ipad 2

I  use Pages to work on a document and then place in the File Sharing section of iTunes to copy the file to my iMac. However, if I then make additonal changes to the document on the iMac I cannot update the file in my iPad by copying over the original file in File Sharing.  How do I synch a Pages document to the iPad2 from my Mac.

Note: You cannot download a document from icloud.com to to your Mac or Windows computer until the document has been previously opened on an iOS device.

  • Pages for iOS converts movies to images on ePub export

It appears that Pages for iOS is able to use the Apple-supplied template for ePub export that was originally developed for Pages in the iWork '09 suite.  However, when I add video to a document and then export to ePub, Pages for iOS issues this message in the Export Details:
Some changes were made to your exported documnet.
    Movies were converted to images.
The movies play fine in Pages for iOS, they just don't get exported when ePub is chosen despite the fact that iBooks for iOS will handle video embedded in ePub perfectly well.
Since Pages for MacOS X exports to ePub without converting movies to images, this appears to be a major parity issue. Apple has gone to some lengths to reach parity between MacOS X, iOS and iCloud with respect to iWork and iLife app suites and has gotten considerable heat over those efforts, I have to wonder whether I've missed something in coming to this sad conclusion. Have I?

It sounds as if your caption is beneath the object to which it's referencing. If so, you can either do one of two things. The first thing (and doesn't require any XHTML knowledge) is to place the caption above the image (a bit unconventional in comparision to dead-tree printing). This will cause the e-reader to begin the page with the caption (the linked item) and thus contain the object of reference below, ensuring it's on the same page for viewing.
Another option, and a more elegant solution (but more technical), is to open the EPUB file with an app like BBEdit or TextMate. Both of these apps can open an EPUB file without having to unzip the file. With the file open, navigate to the file in which you want to make your edit (which will be located in the OEBPS folder). Run a Regex search for your caption title (regex \bcaption\b) and ensure you've found the correct location. Locate your <a id="caption" /> destination anchor. The code just above this anchor should be your image. Remove this code above the image with a p class, like so: <p class="caption"><a id="caption1" />&#160;</p>. This effectively forces the ereader to display the object of reference.

  • Tables in Pages for iOS help

Hello all hope you're well. It's the first time i am using pages for iOS and i have searched the internet for some help but cannot find mt answer i was hoping you guys might know how to help me. When i create a table and it runs onto the next page, the writing in the main header title carries onto the next page but i do not want it too i just want the table to carry on. As you can see below i do not want the date in the grey bar to show up. Is there a way i can rectify this?
    Thank you
    Take care

Unfortunately your screen shot image does not display. Not 100% sure what your issue is, but I'll take a shot:
If you wish to prevent the header from appearing on any subsequent pages that the table spans, you will actually need to remove the header and use the first row for that purpose:
Tap on the table to select it
Tap the format tool icon (paint brush)
    Tap Headers
Tap the minus sign ( - ) beside Header Rows.
Reformat background color or other style characteristics for the first row if needed.

  • I have hidden unwanted books from the purchased area of the iBooks store, but they're are still appearing on the front page of iOS as cloud downloads, is there a way to remove these from iBooks without using the hide iCloud books button?

I have hidden unwanted books from the purchased area of the iBooks store, but they're are still appearing on the front page of iOS as cloud downloads, is there a way to remove these from iBooks without using the hide iCloud books button?
Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.
If we visit the front page of iOS iBooks the view is very different from what I expected. Here we can see the 4 books I wanted to keep on my device and have downloaded. We can also see the 1 book I wanted to keep, but did not want to store locally on the device and left in iCloud (Pictures of Lilly). However we can also see all the books I had hidden from the purchased section of my iTunes account and which I believe should no-longer be visible, Dracula, frankenstein etc…
I am aware of the hide iCloud books button within the iOS app, but I did not need to use this to hide the books I had removed from the my purchased section of the iBooks store on the mac, why are they still appearing in iOS?
I’m still not sure if this is a software glitch or not. This article suggests to me that books can be hidden, but I had already completed these steps.
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201322
A browse of google also suggests people may have been able to hide past purchases from the front page of iBooks on iOS in the past.
In case there was an issue with syncing I tried logging in and out of my iTunes account via settings in iOS. Force closing the app, disabling automatic downloads and removing my device from iTunes in the cloud. Syncing with iTunes on the mac did not correct the issue either.
Interestingly I have the same issue on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3 as I do on my iPad mini suggesting that this might be an issue either with my account or with iOS iBooks software in general.
If there is a way to remove the already hidden iBooks in your account from the front page of iBooks on iOS without using the hide iCloud downloads button? Please help community!

My apologies for the lack of photos, here is my post again with photos.

  • I've edited a Pages doc stored on iCloud on my iMac, and for the past hour or so it's been showing as updating on my iPad with the cogwheel going round. How do I stop it?

I've edited a Pages doc (which is stored on iCloud) on my iMac; when I checked on my iPad it just shows that the document is updating with the cog wheel going round and it's been like that now for well over an hour. While that is going on Pages on my iPad is frozen and I can't open the document. When I logged onto my iCloud account I found that the document is updated there. Can someone please explain what is going on with my iPad and how I can stop what seems a never ending process.

    Hi tomtreb,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below may be able to help you with this.  Click on the link to see more details.
iCloud: Troubleshooting Documents in the Cloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3991
    Unable to update documents
Documents I've updated on my Mac or uploaded from iCloud.com don't appear on my iOS device
If you're using an iWork for iOS app (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote), check the iCloud system requirements and make sure that you're using the latest version of iWork. For third party apps, check the documentation that came with the app, or check with the app developer to make sure the app supports iCloud. App Store application descriptions often indicate whether the app supports iCloud.
Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences on your Mac. Click iCloud and confirm that you're signed in to iCloud and the Documents & Data checkbox is selected.
After opening your iOS app, wait a few minutes for the documents to appear. Your iOS device may not have connected to iCloud since changes were made to the document at iCloud.com or on your other devices.
Try creating a new document on your iOS device, then check again for the documents from iCloud to appear.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data and confirm that Use Cellular Data is turned on.
Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by checking for an Edge, 3G, 4G, LTE, or Wi-Fi icon in your device's status bar. Test your connection by opening apple.com in Safari.
Try resetting iCloud Documents & Data service.
Note: Preview and TextEdit documents uploaded to your iCloud Documents Library on your Mac will not be visible on iCloud.com or an iOS device, and iCloud iWork documents saved to iCloud cannot be viewed in Preview or TextEdit.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Just downloaded iOS 7.0.4 Pages doesn't open iCloud docs

just downloaded iOS 7.0.4 Pages doesn't open iCloud docs

You said the documents don't open, but do they actually appear in Pages in the iPad? There is a difference between the two issues.
If the setting will not stay on, try signing out of your ID, reboot the iPad and then sign in again and see of the setting stays on.
Settings>iTunes & App Store. Tap your ID and sign out.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Go go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign in again. See if the setting will stay on for iCloud.
No docs appear on the iPad in Pages (I have them in iCloud (on my Mac))
The option still gets turned off... in Settings>Pages>iCloud

  • How do I synch pages files between iOs and mac

I have an iMAC as well as an iPad and iPhone.  I recently purchased Pages for both the Mac and iOS and would like to have them all synch'd so that I could sit down in front of any device and have my work show up automatically on all devices.  This seems straight up the Apple's alley with the iWork beta site and iCloud.  But here's the problem.
Sharing my workfrom my iMac sends the information to th enew iWorks Beta.
When I save my documents in the iOs pages apps it goes to the icloud storage...
So is there a way to get the ipad to save to the iworks site or the iMac to the icloud storage?
Seems so easy so I MUST be missing something.
    Thanks!

Actually After posting this (on the right side of the screen) I see that it refernces a discussion entitled" Not quite as advertised? iCloud pages".  It explained my issues in depth.  Unfortunately, there is nothing to do about it for now.  We are all waiting for an update  :-(
    Thanks for the quick reply!

  • Pages for iOS crashes when using iCloud

    Hi!
Pages for iPad & iPhone crashes when connected to iCloud. It started about a month ago.
I have now upgraded both units to 7.0.4  but it still crashes. I have copied all files from Pages for iCloud to my computer and deleted all Pages document files from iCloud. But it still crashes.  Pages for iCloud is doing fine though. But I still cannot use Pages for my iOS units.
    Any suggestions, please?
    Regards Anders Enkvist, Stockholm, Sweden

Same thing is happening to me on a iPad mini Retina. Apple phone support had me Reset All Settings and it worked for several minutes, then started crashing again. I have Reset All Settings several times in Settings>General>Reset and each time it works for several minutes and then starts crashing again.
When I turn off Use iCloud in Settings>Pages, all my iCloud documents are there and Pages seems to be working, but the documents are not syncing with the ones in iCloud.
Pages syncs fine with iCloud on my iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd Generation. The only difference is that on my iPad mini there are different Apple IDs being used for iTunes and iCloud. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895 says this is fine to do. I tried making the Apple IDs the same on the iPad mini and it the same crashing occured.
subarustevo, are you using the same Apple IDs for iCloud and iTunes?
