Pages show thru other pages

When I am trying to open up DNG Converter to change NEF photo to a DNG photo, to enable photo editing in CS5, the blank fields on the converter page are filled with whatever is on the computer screen and I cannot utilize the converter...........a google
search of the problem led me to Windows help blog........I've updated everything, uninstalled CS5 and reinstalled, updated my video driver, etc.  I don't know what else to do, thanks!

CS4 & CS5 will not edit Home Page. All other pages edit fine.

Called tech support and they said to make this duplicate post, so I will. I am using CS4 Trial in XP 32 bit, and CS5 Trial in Vista 64-bit. Neither version will edit my home page. All other pages edit fine. http://www.audiofilesolutions.com.
I have checked to be sure I am listed as Admin on both versions.
When trying to edit the home page, all text and content collapse and will not allow editing. Very top and very bottom menu bar remain. Here is a pic.
As you can see above, there is nothing to edit other than the top and bottom hyperlinks.
Here is a pic of what the edit view should show. This is another page and not the home page.
This is a freshly designed site and I can't edit it until this is resolved. Any help is appreciated.

Then it renders fine in Contribute in Edit mode.

Can edit home page but not other pages of website. Can anyone help?

I've just installed Contribute CS5 and tried some editing of my website. I found that I can only edit the home page. When I go to the other pages the draft that is created doesn't show my images and I also can't get into the page to do anything. On top of the draft page there is something like a small logo with the letters "php" and the curser stays there. Does anyone know why that is and what I can do to make it work? And if yes, can you explain it to me as if I was 3 years old, please. Thank you.

It is pretty easy but it should be considered more of a content management system rather than a basic web editor (even though that's what it does). For example, we have 25 content posters that use Contribute. They know basically nothing about building websites so we use Contribute so that they can do limited things on the site. But it still takes us using a different tool in the background to keep the site up and running.
The unfortunate news is, unless you know PHP language, your site will be a bear to work on. It's a scripting language so, much harder than HTML.
Your site really wouldn't be to hard to rebuild in HTML if you have some experience with building websites from scratch. If you know HTML, you can use one of many low-cost HTML editors out there. If not, you'll need to use a tool like Dreamweaver but even then, it helps to know HTML in case something goes wrong and you have to dig in and find the problem.
Your other option would be to hire someone to build a new site for you. This time, let them know you will be using Adobe Contribute to work on the site so that they can put it together properly.
Not sure why it was built in PHP to begin with.

How are you invoking the navigation? With a simple h:outputLink which links to another page or with an h:commandLink/h:commandButton which naturally first invokes the backingbean?
If you're using h:outputLink, then this behaviour may not occur. You may review/redesign your JSF and bean logic.
If you're using UICommand link/button, then this is usual behaviour. (re)read the JSF lifecycle for an explanation. If you ONLY want to get the navigation case, then you can 1) replace the methodbinding from action or actionListener by just the navigation case string, or 2) add immediate="true" to the UICommand element.

Text highlight showing thru other layer

Could not think of a good title, sorry. Using Encore 2. I have created a menu in photoshop. The background is a photo that fills the screen, and I have put two titles on a part of the picture. Created highlight layers for each title. Looks okay in Photoshop, just a little rough. However, when imported into Encore, there looks like there are holes in the text and the main color show thru the highlight and vice-versa. I have tried 6 fonts and about 4 different color combinations, no difference.
I created the button group, added a new layer, typed in the text, then copied the text layer and gave it a highlight setting. Double-clicked the layer and changed the color. Created the second button by copying the first and changing the text.
The buttons work and all, they just look crappy.

For this example, I created a Menu in Photoshop CS2, starting with a New Image using the NTSC 4:3 w/ guides Preset. I selected a background Image (static in my case) and dragged it in. I discarded the original Background Layer. Note: if you are using a Motion Background, you will want to make sure that your New Image is created with a black Background, and you will not remove this, as I do, for the static image.
In the sky area of my Menu, within the guides, I Typed four words, each in their own Text Layer, Travel, Water, Air and Land, using Arial Black in 30pt type. I chose a slightly off-white color. After aligning and spacing these four Text Layers, I did Select>Load Selection and chose the default [Text Layer Name] Transparency. As each is Loaded, I do a Save Selection and name each with the title of each Text Layer. At this point, I Save the Menu, as is. It has four Text Layers and four Alpha Channels, one for each Text Layer.
I then go to each Text Layer and convert it to a Smart Object. Once done, I do a Save_As, and assign a unique name, say [Original Name]_Smart_Object. This will be my Menu, but the other file will be used later.
In Encore2, I Import_as_Menu the second of these files, with the Smart Objects. Here youll get an error, that Encore cannot work with Smart Objects and needs to convert. This is what we want to have happen. Once into Encore, I dbl-click my Menu to get it into the Menu Panel. I open the Layers tab and check each Text Layer to make it a Button. Here I also uncheck the Sync Button Name and the Create Text Subpicture. The reason that I use the Smart Objects is so that Encore2 will create my (= 1) Subpicture Highlight Layer, and it will work perfectly. If you Import the first Menu, with just Text Layers (not Smart Objects), the only way I can find to use the Buttons is with the Create Text Subpicture box checked, and this cannot be adjusted in Photoshop as it is an automatic feature within Encore2.
Now, the fun begins. I rt-click on the Menu in the Menu Panel and choose Edit in Photoshop. This creates a TMP file, opens Photoshop and then the TMP file of our Menu. I then open the original Menu and drag each of the four Alpha Channels to the TMP Menu, holding down the Shift key to make sure they come in perfectly aligned. Now, you can close the original Menu file, and only work in the TMP Menu file.
I go to the Button Layer Sets, and open them. In my example I have four. I click the Eyeball to make one of the Highlight Layers, the (=1) Layer, visible and sample the color with the Eyedropper Tool. I then make that Highlight Layer active and load the appropriate Selection (Alpha Channel) for it. I choose Selection>Modify>Expand, setting this to 4-5 pixels. With this new Selection, I choose Edit>Fill>Foreground color (the one we sampled with the Eyedropper). Next Load Selection and choose the appropriate Selection for that Layer. It loads inside of our larger Highlight. Now hit Del, to punch a hole into the Highlight Layer. Do this for each of the Button Layer Sets, but do NOT forget to uncheck the Eyeball on each Highlight Layer, or the Highlight will be on, and we do not want that. Delete the Alpha Channels from this file now. Hit Save to update the TMP file and to update the Menu in Encore2.
Depending on what one has done to create the Text Buttons, there might be other steps that need to be utilized to get everything to work, as I have outlined. Those additional steps will be predicated solely on the exact layout and structure of ones Menu.

[Edit} One thing that I forgot to mention is that once Encore2 converts the Smart Objects, they are not longer editable Text Layers. If you need to make a change, you can replace the converted Smart Object Layer with the appropriate Text Layer (staying within the Button Layer Set) from your original Menu image. If you don't need to edit, I'd just leave thing alone.
When working in Photoshop Button Layer Sets, always observe the structure and the naming conventions, as they are very important. One can make certain name changes, but the characters that define the Button and its operations MUST be maintained.

Web page shows the top of page (a horizontal bar of text), but majority is bumped far right. (1/4 page.) Page shows in other browser. Cleared cache, no help. ?

I have taken a screen shot of the problem page. I don't know why this has happened but it has happened on Firefox for Mac and PC. It does not happen in the Safari browser.
The top of the page looks correct.
Underneath everything is shifted right. This leave 3/4 of the screen to be white. 1/4 of the right side of the page is showing the actual left side of the page.

Does this only happen on one specific website?
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?
It is possible that there is a problem with that web page and that there is a clear:both CSS rule missing that causes Firefox to start the next line at the horizontal position where the previous line ended.
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

Blank page printed every other page

i have a laserjet 2430tn and work at a doctors office. There are two printable options, regular printing and prescription printing. The problem is relevant to the prescription printing only. On our scripts, everytime we print out, a blank page comes out in between every printed page. How to correct?

I keep coming back to this one. Alas, I don't know the answer. I wish I did. If it were just the pages in between in document printing, it would easier to diagnose; the envelopes caper is a bit disconcerting.
Do check the margins in the document. If you are off by a even little bit, the printer will add a page.
If this is Word, try copying the document over to WordPad and making a copy that way.
Envelopes spitting out. ?? You could try resetting the printer..
Reset the printer. Not sure which is the Reset on on this printer (not the expert and I've bee corrected before on this for a couple of the models), Here are two kinds:
1) If there is a keypad, turn it off, then on and press # and 6 (keep pressed while turning on printer).
2) no keypad? Unplug while on, leave unplugged 30 seconds to a minute. Plug back in. (Be careful with this one - don't risk shock.)

"blank page" shows on home page-will NOT load any sites

When firefox loads, a "blank page" is displayed. Further, when this occurs, no sites can be accessed. Toolbars on top do display.

How to display region from one page on the other page?

Hi,
I'd like to ask if someone know how to display region created on page X on page Y.
I've tried to create a "URL" region on Y but this doesn't work and I generally think this is blind way.
Next I've found an internal function "flows_020100.wwv_flow_disp_page_plugs()" that works pretty well (PL/SQL type region with calling the function) except that is displaying only regions on the same page. I know it's dirty hack but ...
Any ideas or hints how to solve this? Thanks ...

Copying page format for other pages

Hi,
I would like to keep the same format (font, background color, header color) for every page of my website. I am using a Welcome, About Me, Movie, and Blank template but would like to keep the same style. Is there a way to easily do this? Because I am finding it tedious to find the exact color over and over again.

I don't know if this will suit your purposes, but you can always right-click or Control-click on a page in the Site Organizer (left-hand side of the iWeb window) and then select "Duplicate" from the contextual menu that pops up. This will make an exact copy of everything and then you can change the specifics on the page from there. This is the easiest way to do what you are asking, I believe.

How do I delete a page and rearrange other pages?

I am trying to delete a page/document and then rearrange the remaining pages/documents. I have followed the Adobe help instructions but my tool bar does not give me the option to delete or move documents as stated in the instructions on the help page. The thumbnail only gives me the option to increase/decrease size or to print. Please advise as I am losing my mind and need to figure this out asap as it is for an online website. The instructions you were reading were for Adobe Acrobat and not Adobe Reader. Reader doesn't have that ability.

I go into the app store, press install for an app, put my apple ID password in, and it takes me to "the new terms and conditions". However, there is no accept button on the last page nor any other pages. How do I accept the terms and conditions?

I want to be able to download apps, but I am unable to. I have turned it off and on again, I have went out of the app store and then went back into it again, I have even waited a couple weeks before trying to download it again.

How can I create a working link from the home page to other pages?

Using iWeb, I created links on the Home page directed to other pages within my web site. The links are located in the main body of the Home page (on the right side) and are not included in the Navigation Menu. The links function correctly when I test them in iWeb, however, the links do not function at all after publishing to the internet.
Within the inspector, I have chosen, Link To: "One of my pages" and the appropriate page is selected.
The links within the gray rectangles do not function. The same links below the gray rectangle links go to a "Page Not Found" page.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I've found that using the "One of my pages" often doesn't work. Since you've published the site go to each page, copy its URL and use it for the hyperlink. I've found that to me more reliable.
Are those two links inside the shapes or just on top? Both of those items are one large image file. If you inserted the link in the shape be sure you've selected the text (might take a few clicks to get inside and select it) to use for the hyperlink. Also make sure there are no other objects overlapping each of the shaped with the hyperlinked text.
Also it appears that the entire text box is an image. Turn on iWeb's preferences to display the text image indicator:

Wrong Page Displaying as 1st Page in Generated Help

I have designated the following topic as the start page for the WebHelp I'm generating:
C:\12.1\CoreDevelopment\Main\src\MResources\Help\WebHelp\Help_Landing_Page.htm
However, after the WebHelp is generated, it's actually showing some other file as the first page (i.e., I generate WebHelp, click View Results, and this other Help page displays as the first page). This other page is in the following location:
C:/12.1/CoreDevelopment/Main/src/MResources/Help/WebHelp/Questions_List_Pages/Find_Courses .htm
What could be causing this problem and how do I fix it?

Go to any web site and you are presented with a page, no matter what it contains it is a page.
When a user opens the help, they have to open a page, that page has always been known as the start page. In the RoboHelp dialog you are not selecting a topic, you are defining where the start page will be generated and its filename. Prior to RoboHelp 9 that filename defaulted to the project name.
Also in the dialog in older versions of RoboHelp, the same page of the dialog where you configure the webhelp output contained another field for the default topic. A topic is presented in one of the three frames of the page presented to users, the start page and logically the start page opens with the default topic in the main frame.
That had to change in RoboHelp 9 because of content categories.They allow the help to be presented with different groups of content so the default topic for one may not even be in the topics of another category. Each category has to have its own default topic, hence moving where the default topic is defined from the same page as the Start Page to where the content categories are defined.
I think the confusion is that you are thinking of the default topic as being the same as the start page. They are very different things.

Printing a multi page pdf -with multiple pages per sheet

In order to save paper I create multiple page pdfs and in the print dialog box under Layout I select Pages per Sheet 2 , etc. The problem is when i try to print out the document, it only prints out the first page. The other pages fail to print. this only occurs when printing a pdf in this way. I have already re-installed Acrobat.
error on printer is: error typecheck offending command and the file name changes on the printer to acr.000000.tem
I'm using acrobat 8. Printing to a xerox docu-color printer.

Nope, that's a Flash-only effect. Sometimes people try to embed a SWF (Flash file) into a PDF, but that only plays like it's a movie, and doesn't work well.
I think you should give up on the idea if you want to use PDF as the distribution method.
