Pages stops responding when I save a file?
Pages just spins when I try to save a file, started after the Maverick update. Any suggestions?
Do this:
1) Close all applications
2) Go to Spotlight (looks like a magnifying glass in the top right of your computer screen.
3) type: Disk Utility, when Disk Utility opens, select the Macintosh HD in the left side of th panel
4) Move your cursor toward the middle, bottom and select, REPAIR DISK PERMISSIONS, just let it run until complete.
5) Close Disk Utility
6) Look on Apple's support site for an article to rese PRAM or http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 - Do this as corrected.
7) Then, open Pages
8) If this doesn't work, make sure you have tried different documents, so you can determine if it is document specific
9) Also, see if the behavior is the same with another user on the same computer.

Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?
First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves. Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs. -
AuthorWare stops responding when loading a mpg file
I have a new Dell T3500 with Windows XP (32-bit). Other people in the office are able to load .mpg files into their AuthorWare project but every time I try, Authorware stops responding. I am using AuthorWare 7.02.
If I change the file extensions to .wmv, AuthorWare has not problem importing them. Windows media player has no problem playing the .mpgs.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the update. I have tried this in brand new project files. I'm not sure what to do next.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.

The videos import and play correctly as .wmv files.
Then it may actually be a CODEC issue
Try installing this codec pack:

You may need it, because Microsoft changed the default CODECs installed from Windows Media Player 8 onwards. Certain Dell machines seem to have problems with this.

After Effects CS5.5 Stops responding when I import .mov files from VideoCopilot
Okay so I have a personal movie project that is in my mind so I opened After Effects and wanted to import an explosion.mov file to the video clip from Action Essentials. It worked a month ago but now for some reason right when I import the .mov clip, it crashes... I have After Effects CS4 and CS5.5 and when I import the same exact .mov file to CS4, it works. After Effects CS5.5 Version 10.5, I installed all the recent updates, the footage I was using was from video copilot, I didn't get any error messages when I put the footage in, After Effects just freezes up when I put the footage in. I was using Adobe Bridge in the background to import the clips, but I also tried importing in a different way by just plainly dragging and dropping the clips from the folder, I have not downloaded any third party codecs.
I've tried the troubleshooting, all of the solutions in the link you gave me, but none of them worked, I turned off the firewall. You can see what happens when I import the .mov clips in After Effects in the video link on the very first post of this thread. But suprisingly, the .mov files work in CS4 but not in CS5.5. -
Pages continually crashes when I save a file
I've tried the solutions in the forums... installed the OSX combo update, ditched all the Pages app and preferences, removed them from Trash and restarted the computer, done a Disk Repair, etc and it still continues to be a problem. I got a warning saying the Constantia font wasn't installed. I have installed this font but the problem persists.
I run iWork09 and have the latest software update installed. I'm not experiencing this issue with Numbers or Keynote, only Pages.
I'm at the end of my tether with this so any help appreciated.Is it just the one file, or all files?

Safari stops responding when I try to bookmark (and other slow problems!)
Two weeks ago my logicboard died, so I sent my ibook out to Apple for it to be fixed. Ever since I got it back this past Tuesday, my Safari has been extremely slow, but nothing else is wrong with my computer. Here are the problems:
- The biggest issue is that Safari stops responding when I try to make a bookmark. The popup appears to select the bookmark's destination and to enter the name, but when you hit ok, the rainbow wheel comes up and it stops responding, so I have to reset Safari, and now I can't make new bookmarks at all.
- It lags when it tries to open new windows, especially new tabs.
- If a new page loads that scrolls at all, and then I try to scroll down, the wheel appears for several seconds until it can load the rest of the page. It's as though it gets stuck before it can scroll.
- Sometimes when typing, it will also start to lag behind my typing speed, or if I try to click on a new field, it will not immediately allow me to type on occasion.
All these things have never happened before I sent it out. I have reset my cache, and I have tried entering the open DNS addresses in my networks, which has improved loading speed, but hasn't fixed any of these problems. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how I can fix anything?

Boot from your restore disk while holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo, then let go of the C key. You'll see an Installation window, select English. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk you have several options. One is DiskWarrior or
TechToolPro If Disk Utility can repair any errors, go back to the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
If you don't have a restore disk, try booting into Safe Mode

I started to learn HTML, and I'm using text edit and everything is going fine, when I save the file with a .html extension and open it with safari I only view the code and not the webpage that was supposed to be created.
That is because you don't have a web server configured and running to serve the html page. In order to see the page in a browser you need to access it using a url similar to http://localhost/~yourUserName if you are serving the page from your user account.
Prior to Mountain Lion you could go into web sharing and turn on the web server. With Mountain Lion there is no option, other than using terminal, to turn on the web server. The web sharing menu item has been removed in Mountain Lion. Apache is still on your computer but it will take a little searching these forums or the Internet to find how to turn it on.
If you want a graphic user interface to turn on/off the Apache server you could download and install a server application like xampp, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html. I use this and it works well. -

Adobe X pro 10.0.0 stop responding while saving the pdf file as word, i chose file>save as>microsoft word>Word Document.
I tried to install on the X pro on another machine and tried to convert also the same issue.
Any help? please adviceI suggest you bring Acrobat up to 10.1.2 by appltying the most recent maintenance.

iTunes stops responding when I plug in my iPod. I have updated iTunes to latest version, still crashes. OS is Vista. How do I fix this?
Hm... Strange.
I had reset the iPhone.
I tried disabling the auto-launch of iPhoto, and...
...when I plugged iPhone in, it started to freeze iTunes, but after a minute or so, the iPhone started synching. I found this odd because I had disabled auto-sync (I press Sync in iTunes when I want to have it Sync).
Now, of course, I do want auto-launch of iPhoto back on, since I like it for when I attach my digital cameras. I hope that when I set it back, it won't re-introduce the problem.
The restart I did may have helped. I resist restarting because my wife's account is often open and she frequently leaves unsaved files up, so it is a pain to respectfully close out her work and then restart. -
I am using a Mac and when I save my files as a jpeg, the files become much smaller, and consequently darker and blurrier. What can I do to fix this? I have tried to figure out how to chat with someone at Adobe, but they certainly don't make it easy to do. At the moment, this program is useless to me. Very depressing....

I would like to inform you that not all the browsers and online PDF readers support copying text from a PDF. If you have opened the PDF online, please download PDF file to your computer and then open the file in Adobe Reader.
Please share a screenshot if the issue still persists.

I am not aware of a field type "Help" within a PDF form. I do not see it as a form field that can be added in the form edit mode.
Forms Central forms do not support all the features of Acrobat forms.
Are you talking about the "Tool Tips" or a hidden field that only shows when one enters a field and is hidden upon exiting the field. -
After I upgraded my Mac with Yosemite, Photoshop Elements 12 Editor stops responding when you use some tools like eraser, clone stamp.

I have CS6 and when i am working on Photoshop the color is fine and everything shows up how i want. Although when i save the file to a .jpeg the color drastically darkens to a point all my lighter details are lost. I tried emailing the .jpeg and .psd to another computer in my house and it works fine on them.My color settings currently are set to North America General Purpose 2 with sRGB selected. Past this point i don't really know what to try, if anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue fire away please.Photoshop is a color managed application, and uses icc profiles to maintain color appearance over a broad range of scenarios. This includes both a document profile and a display profile.
Many other applications are not, and all bets are off there unless you take specific precautions. So the question is, what application are you viewing the saved jpegs in outside of Photoshop?
A screenshot showing the two side by side would help pinpoint the exact issue here. -
Thunderbird stops "responding" when I try to enter a password why? this is new today.
As of this afternoon Thunderbird stops responding when I attempt to enter a password. The accounts have been working for years with thunderbird until today. I can open thunderbird in "safe" mode but that is not useful since plugins are disabled.
I ended up removing v 1.0.1 of "Provider for Google Calendar" plugin; installing v 0.25, then re-setup the Google calendar
