Pages suddenly hanging for long when I try to open document
All of a sudden, Pages has begun taking ages to show the "open" dialog box after I press Command-O. Before, it used to do it in a second.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this.

I've looked at this now three times and spun my wheels. This doesn't sound like a a Pages problem but a more general problem. Three thoughts: 1) have you tried restarting the computer? It is a general purpose fixer. 2) is the file selector is pointed to a *very full* directory? The could explain it. 3) You might consider running Disk Utility to verify the disk - not fix permissions but to check disk health.

First time user. Need help. I downloaded latest version of Pages 5.0 and have been using it. Now, when I try to open documents created by it, I'm advised that I have to downoad Pages 5.0. What's going on?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 110 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

You can add the icon of the missing Pages on your Dock or open Pages from the Apple menu > Recent Items list.
Or you can archive Pages 5 so that it doesn't automatically open.
If you are unhappy about this review/rate Pages 5 in the App Store.

After restarting my computer firefox is deleted for Windows, when i try to open firefox a message pops up saying the program has been moved from its original location and is unable to run How do I get Firefox on my computer permanently?
I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

I am trying to use the new iwork beta tools on iCloud. I currently have 10.8.4 OSX on my iMac and 6.0.5 version of Safari, but when I try to open documents on my iphone in the cloud it tells me my browser isn't supported

When I save web page on my HDD then when I try to open it the pictures are not displayed?
I have saved on my hdd webpage and folder with all pictures, but when I try to open it by doubleclick it open onli web page with text but picture stay clear (only borders)

Thank you for your question. I do not believe that the proper links have been updated to reference the newly saved file path of the local webpage that you saved.
Can you please check the webpage content that was saved to see if there is an image stored in a folder? They should be. If not, can you please provide an example webpage and I will try it? I tried this webpage and did not have any missing images.

Pages for iOS is crashing my phone when I try and open documents. Help!
I just got an iPhone 5S. I have had pages on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini with no issues but when I try and interact with any document on my phone now, the entire phone crashes - I get a blue screen of death - and my phone restarts. I have tried to delete the app and reload it but I get the same results. This does not happen on my mini and both are running iOS7. I do not have this issue with any other app.
HERE IS THE SOLUTION
If you read the link I posted above you, will be able to find my fix for this issue. Although it is temporary, it's the best were gonna get until Apple steps in.

Basically, just email all your documents in iCloud/on your iOS device to yourself so you have them backed up in a safe place. Then delete all your documents from pages. Quit the app and relaunch. It will stop crashing the entire phone.
New documents will not cause the rebooting issue.
If you edit a new document in the Beta Pages service on iCloud.com, your phone will start crashing again when you use pages. -

That article is a bit dated. Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question, with more updated information:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open your data files, modify them and save them;
4. Install Snow Leopard Server (with Rosetta) into Parallels or VMWare Fusion. Apple is now selling Snow Leopard Server for only $19.99 + sales tax & shipping; call 1.800.MYAPPLE (1.800.692.7753). This solution will give you concurrent use of your PowerPC applications and access to Lion or Mt. Lion.

Till recently there was no issue opening a new tab after doing a search on google for an issue. For the last ten days or so I am having this experience of inconsistency. Has anyone noticed it. On the other hand if I visit any other web pages it works smooth to open a new tab.
May be it is working fine for you. But then i am experiencing the issue again and again. someone else was also facing the same issue on another forum.

Please look in the Applications for the most up-to-date version of Numbers. I suspect you got a free upgrade to OS X Mavericks and also updated your iWorks apps. If that is correct you have two versions of number on the computer, you cannot open a new file with the older version of Numbers, this is what I am guessing you are attempting.

Why does Firefox hang when I try to open yahoo? It also hangs after I use it for a little bit.
When I try to open yahoo Firefox will hang and when I try to restart it will close but stay running. It seems to have started when yahoo went to the new version.I reset my screen resolution to 1152 by 864 pixels like yahoo said no difference. Firefox will also hang if I go to several web sites with out going to yahoo. I changed my home page to Hotmail instead of yahoo and it will open just fine. Any help will be appreciated. Rodney. I'm having problems with 8.1 and Continuity / Handoff. It will work fine for web pages, etc. but in email when I try to do it between by iPhone 5s running 8.1 and my Macbook Pro running Yosemite I consistently get an error. "Failed to Continue Activity" Cocoa Error 4609. Handoff is working for phone calls and text messages. By email just crashes each time. It was also doing it under 8.0.2. My iPhone and iPad handle this fine. It's only the MacBook to the iPhone that fails, and only on email.
