Pages Template help (placeholder on every page).

Hi,
I have this problem with using the Pages template for writing a Resume. Namely when I place my photo in a placeholder, it is also present on every following page. And I don't know how to remove it so that it stays on the first page only.
Plz help

Welcome to Apple discussions.
The reason your photo (or even the placeholder photo) will repeat on every page is because it's been defined as a master object. Master objects are designed to repeat like that. To change it to a normal photo, select it, then click on Format > Advanced > Move Object to Page. After that, it shouldn't repeat.

Navigation item in page template makes postback reload current page first

Hi,
in Jdeveloper 11g we have a page template for our app, which includes navigation items.
Looking at server log it seems that when a navigationItem is clicked, the current page loads first, is processed and only then redirects to the target page. The problem of course is performance impact, I guess this takes a page to load almost twice as slow as it needs to.
Is there any way to change the behavior so that navigationItem immediately redirects to the target page?

Hi,
The Lifecycle will always process the current page, that's part of the JSF specification. I suggest you do some reading on JSF http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/final/jsr252/index.html. There's two ways to reduce the amount of nodes evaluated by the Lifecycle implementation though, make your navigationItem partialSubmit="true" and/or immediate="true".

Page Template Body 1,2,3 position to the left of the page

Hi,
How can make a page template as default.
The situation is i have a theme which has a default page template set so that the "Page Template Body 2' comes to the the center(let me this be theme - theme 1). But there is another theme which gives me the option to
set the 'page template body 2' to the left of the page(theme 2). I thought of switching the theme but my other setting for report will go for toss. So i have copied default template for page from theme 2 to theme 1, but i
cant make the page template as default. How can make the page template to default ?
Is there any other way of doing this so the 'Page Template Body 2' appears to the left.

In Application Builder:
- Edit the Application
- Click on Shared Components
- Click on Themes
> The current theme will have an 'asterisk (*)' by the theme name
- DO NOT CLICK ON THE THEME
- On the far right column will be a panel called Tasks
- Click Edit Theme
- Click on your current theme
You'll see a drop down list that allows you to pick the default page template.

How to share pages template with word users?

I made a pages template with placeholder text and need word users to fill in the placeholders, how do I save this template to share it with word users?

The template has colored shapes, therefore upon export it changes the formatting and nothing lines up-of course!
When I export it and open it in on my old macbook(OSX10.6.8) in word for mac 2004 it opens as a document not a template. The export is as a document, not a template, maybe it is not possible-ugh!

Default Page Template for Portal Page Group

Release 2 of Portal (9.0.2.2.22)
Created a page group and several templates.
Edit Page Group Properties, Configure, locate the Default Page Template drop list.
The drop list has only the templates from the shared object page group.
The online help states

Choose the page template to apply to new pages in this page group if the page designer does not explicitly choose one.
Note: This list includes all the page templates in this page group and the shared objects page group.

I have several templates in this page group. Why don't they show in this drop list?

You have to make the templates public. Edit the template properties - on the Main tab click "Make Public".

ADF Page Template

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper and I need to create a standard look and feel for all the jspx pages. I have created a template with a panelPage as explained in the SRDemo Tutorial, so every new page I create, I copy/paste the panelPage definition from the template.
I would like to know which is the best way to create a standard look and feel using ADF so the modification of one page (template or equivalent) impacts all pages.

Hey Chris,
I have tried that, it doesn't provide a list, but if you try to specify a value that it is not part of the enum, then you would get a runtime exception when you run the consumer page.

Lightroom 4 page templates

A few comments on the book module.
First, I would like a better and bigger selection of page templates, Particularly cover choices, text pages and pages with text and images. It is my impression that Blurb's own software, Booksmart,, offers many more page templates.
Second, working with text in the book module is not very staisfactory. Selection doesn't work very well, the cursor is too big to make accurate sleections and it would be helpful to see actual font samples.
Otherwise book module is terrific! but I look foward to the ability to send books to other online publishers such as mypublisher.com.

To Print Static content on the back of every page

I have a requirement where I need to print "Terms and Conditions" on the back of every page.
One way of achieving this is to use a preprinted form where one side of it contains "Terms and Conditions". But my customer doesnot want to use that method.
So I need to prepare a layout template in RTF which when converted to a PDF report should have terms and conditions on every alternate page.
The challenge is that in case I have a table with multiple rows, so typically spanning across pages, on the back of every page "Terms and Conditions" should be displayed.
Can I have a solution to this please

As it was recently discussed in this forum, you can do this by using Word functionality of displaying headers/footers only on Odd or Even pages (in Page Setun). In this case, the preprinted text will occupy entire page footer of the even pages. What you will not be able to do, however, is to increment page numbers only on every odd page. At least, XMLP folks keep silence on how to do this.

Day CQ MCM Configuration - new newsletter page template

Hi all,
I have question how to add to Day CQ MCM Configuration custom created newsletter page template to see new created page in the list of all campaigns.
As a example I used /apps/geometrixx/components/newsletterpage component and I have copied it to my project. Of course I have created also template for this kind of newsletter page.
The problem is that I can create in the CQ5 MCM console new custom newsletter page, but after that new page is not visible in the list for all campaigns like newsletter, teaser or test&target offer?

Can we include common buttons in Page template......

Hi,
we are on the process of developing a product using ADF. Now we have implemented a page template. Most of our pages contain the common buttons like [SAVE,DELETE,UPDATE,CANCEL,PRINT].
I am entirely new to this area. Can anyone advise whether we can include this buttons in page template. How can we differentiate the actions from these buttons in each page. While including the page level validations whether this makes any performance impact compared to put buttons in each page seperately.

Page Template Backing Bean Availability

I have a page template that is used in pages across in a bounded Task flow. The backing bean is defined in the adfc-config.xml file.
There are properties in the template backing bean that I use to determine whether to set some UI Components Visible property to true or false. So far so good and the UI Visible property is set as expected when run. e.g.
#{backingBeanScope.beanNameBacking.myGroupAccordionVisible}
I created another bounded Task Flow that contains a page that also references the Page Template. The new Task Flow is called from the original Task Flow.
When I run the application now, the backing bean properties (in the Page Template) are highlighted as unknown and I get a runtime null pointer exception.
This is even more confusing as I reference the template backing bean as a managed bean in the new (and old) Task Flow, and from the new Task Flow I can call a method in the template backing bean successfully. Why would the properties be unknown?

Every page hangs with Firefox 8, there is often no exit, and if there is, clicking on it does nothing. I have to use cntrl, alt, delete to shut down every single time I use Firefox 8.

I couldn't even open Firefox for hours, then realized there was an update to 8. Once updated, the horrors began. I can't exit a single page with Firefox 8. Every page hangs. I have used cntrl, alt, delete like never before. I disabled the container.exe plug in for Firefox, and still have problems. There is no menu bar, there is often not even an exit button, but when there is, it doesn't work. These problems must be fixed, or I'll never use Firefox again.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Creating Page Level Help Screens

Hi there
I have been asked to include a link to page-level help in our EP implementation.
Now, I can find the property(s) that need to be set in order to get the link to appear, but where do I set the content for the particular page?
In the masthead, there is a hyperlink for help, which redirects the user to SDN, but I remember reading somewhere where that is defined, so I'm not too worried about updating that or getting rid of it completely.
The page level help needs to be page-related, ie. the help content that is displayed must depend on the page from which the link was clicked.
Is this possible?

Sure no problem
First I created an EP implementation for help (You can do this with WebDynPro or EP your call)
Second you have to create an IVIEW from the portal administration tab, you can do if create IVIEW from par if you have it uploaded or create it from the imported WebDynPro Target up to you.
Second when you create the page you include your iview as expained above and under properties of the page (this means don't check the iview box when you look at properties) ensure it opens up in a new window. This will give you a pop up help menu that you programmed yourself.
I used EP because WebDynPro seemed to be slow. Basically my help pages where just links with CSS that pointed to another server (DMS server) that was open to http links to bring up help documents for our portal.

Multi-Page Templates

Hello,
Is it possible to create a Page Template that consists of 2 pages? I've been able to create one page templates easily, but need to figure out a way to insert two pages of information based on a field selection, and thought templates may be an easy way to achieve this.
Any suggestions welcome.
