Pages Won't Delete or Open Documents in iPhone 5

I have the Pages App on my iPhone. Haven't use it in over year. Launched it. Found two documents I no longer need. Went to edit to delete. Held down one documents I wanted to delete started to jiggle, but the trash can did not turn from ghost to alive, and no dialogue box came up asking me if I wanted to delete the documents. Works fine on my iPad. Can't find help because no document opens. Imported a document with my iphone attached to itunes. That opened, but not the two already on the interface from a year ago. Any help greatly appreciated.

1. I always update, backup, and everything else petaining to my iPhone via iTunes. I see the steps.
2. The Pages App might work, as indeed I imported, added, sync, whatever a document from from Documents.
3. It opened, and worked normally. Deleted normally. Trash can luminated.
4. My current problem is this: on the interface of Pages are two documents. I can't open them nor can I delete those documents when I press Edit. They giggle, but the trash basket does not illuminate. Since I can not delete one document I really want to open (called Acting Actions) I went back and did the add to sequence with the iPhone, highlighting the Pages App. and "adding to" the document Acting Actions I want to open, but can't delete. It did not make the transfer, because I think it realizes that document Acting Action is already on the interface or been imported, therefore
5. I really want to delete those documents, so I make a new transfer.
As to the App Store. I can't see updates in the lower right. If I open the App Store from my dock, I see Updates on top, and that's where it says I can't install Pages unless I upgrade to Maverick.
Lastly, remember Pages current works in the iPhone, via importing a new document. I just don't undersand why these two documents sitting on that interface won't open or delete. Thanks again.

Pages won't let me open documents

I didn't download the latest version of Pages when it was released, about four days ago. So I try to open a Pages document - any document - and can't. I'm told I have to update the software. But when I try to do this either from the App store or via the software update facility on the desktop, I get a message saying it's not available. I hate the new Pages. '09 worked fine but if I go back to it - it still seems to be in the applications on my MacBook - will I be able to open documents created with the newer software?

I just had a very similar experience on a brand new mac after setting it up yesterday, hooking it up to everything including icloud and updating all the software including pages to 5.1 I could not open any doc on the new Mac.
On the other machines everything was peachy. Looking through forums I witnessed Peter's crusade against pages 5 - no offense, Peter - but I believe this time icloud is to be blamed.
Here is what helped me:
1. Go to System Preferences -> icloud and scroll down until you see "Documents & Data"
2. un-tick "Documents & Data"
3. Close Pages if you had it open and re-open it.
4. Open Pages (again) and close it again
5. Go back to the icloud preference pane and tick the box in front of "Documents & Data" again
6. Click on "Options" behind "Documents & Data" and make sure that the box in front of "pages" is ticked as well
7. Close System Preferences
8. Open Pages and everything should be back to normal

Pages won't let me open a document, says "unable to open document"

Pages for my iPad 2 is preventing me from opening one specific file. I reaaally need that file back but I can't open it or transfer it anyway. Every time I click on it it says "unable to open document." Pleaaaase help!

If iCloud was already enabled, then you've possibly run into the same issue I just had. I opened up Pages & Numbers on my iPad, and all the icons were black. Clicking on any of them gave me the 'Document can't be opened' message. If I signed into iCloud.com, I wasn't able to download the documents either.
After a lot of messing around, it seems like it was something to do with file conflicts, and maybe they caused problems when I updated to iOS 5.1 or the new Pages/Numbers App updates? I don't know, but somewhere along the line, the file conflicts were blocking all documents from being accessed.
The way I fixed it was to fire up Pages & Numbers on my iPhone. It showed me my documents, but when I clicked on them, they told me there were conflicts in the files, and presented me with two options, one a black icon, the other a normal document icon. I clicked on the normal one, and the document seemed to open and load. Additionally, with Numbers at least, the files all updated on the iPad too, and all the documents could now be downloaded via iCloud.com. I had an issue with Pages on the iPad, in that it wasn't updating the documents as I was fixing them on the iPhone, so I simply uninstalled Pages on the iPad, and then re-installed. Once iCloud was enabled, all the documents loaded up properly.
I really can't say if this is the same issue you are experiencing, but I figured I'd mention it.. just in case!!
And another tip.. until iCloud gets fixed-up good 'n proper, for your own piece of mind, whenever you edit a document in Pages/Numbers/Keynote, just before you finish-up, hit the 'wrench' icon, choose the 'Share and Print' option, and then click 'Save to iTunes'. Choose the first file type, and it'll save a copy in a different location on your iPad. That way, if a file gets corrupted by Pages or deleted/corrupted by iCloud, you can simply click the + button on the Documents page, and select 'Copy from iTunes'. This will show you all the documents you saved. They also show up in iTunes should you want to pull them off the iPad quickly.

Can't open document on iPhone from Pages via iCloud

Trying to open a document on iPhone via iCloud only to get the following error messages from within Pages (iOS version): "Opening this document requires an internet connection". Am connected to internet using WiFi and the Documents and Data field is set to "Yes" in iClouds section of Settings. Document is present on iCloud.com. Tried deleting and reinstalling Pages; turning D&D field to No and back to Yes, rebooting iph00ne

It seems to be hit or miss if this works or not, but try opening Pages on the iPad, then before you select a document, on the very first screen, hit the "Edit" button, then select your document. Then click the arrow coming out of the box in the upper left corner & email the document to yourself. Try opening the email on a computer, selecting the file and adding the pages file type (.pages) to the end of the name. Then try reopening it in Pages.
I don't know if this is what happened in your case, but it seems like sometimes iWork documents lose that file type indicator & then Pages (numbers/ Keynote) won't open them.

Pages Won't Let Me Open a Document?

I've been working on a document (on pages 08) for a while... and a couple months ago, i tried to open it, and a window popped up that said "the document '________________' could not be opened"
i tried many different ways to try and open it, and i got the same message over and over, so i gave up and started over with a really rough copy i had on google docs..
but just now, i went to try and open the second document, and i got the same message.
Whats going on, and is there any way to retrieve the documents and prevent it from happening again?

Try to open the doc from an alternate user account and let us know what you got.
Check also the version num of the running Pages application.
If itsn't 3.0.3, you must update iWork.

Pages 5.1: refuses to open documents, insisting needs update

Help! Over 200 page document, not to mention thousands of pages of work that I cannot access... is it locked down by some glitch?
Pages 5.0.1 has been on my macbook for a while now. I'm not in love, but have adapted. Last night, admittedly after the most recent 10.9.1 update, it refuses to open my Pages created documents. Error message says, "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document"..."You can download the latest version of Pages from the Mac App Store." The problem is, that when you follow the link, the app of course says "installed", and there is no waiting update. It's like a maniacal little cycle to drive me crazy.
I have tried the Command + I trick, and the control + click, but it will not open with an earlier version either. Yes, a restart was done. I'm on a 8GB macbook pro with miles of memory left, like 500GB out of 749 says the Storage info, graphics card, 2.2 GHz
As a possibly related (but not likely) for the past week or two I have been getting a message that kept prompting me to sign into an old appleID. I figured it was related to the update I was dragging my feet on. When I went to sync it all up, of course it made me change my other apple ID's and passwords. Grr.
I am a teacher, not a tech person...
I just want to open my docs... so any help (especially written in dunce) would really be appreciated.
The kids will thank you too.

I have 3 Macs .... all on OSX 10.9.2 and all upgraded to Pages 5.1 ... so it is reasonable to assume that I can create a document on one laptop ... save to the iCloud .... and open it on another laptop to work on later on.

Like you - I get this message that I need the new version of Pages to open the document ...... but I am already on the latest one.
It is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!
It defeats the purpose of having iCloud if I cannot access the document on any other laptop except for the one that created ti!
Forget about trying to work on it on the iPad. The alignments are all out and images don't download ........ it's a mess!!!!!!!!
Apple please fix this problem before you loose your once loyal users.

Copy File, Delete File & Opening Document

Please help, note that I use JDK 1.1.7A. I have 2 directories I recieve a file into the first. This kicks of a process, when the process is finished I must take the file and copy it to the 2nd directory. Once it is copied I have to delete it from the 1st directory.. I then check through my explore from windows to see if I can open the document after it had been copied. I get an error from Winword that kinda says the following:

I though that I had this problem resolved Alas I don't. If I have 2 existing directories than it works fine. When I have to create a new directory then I run into some problems. File creates a file. You then use the mkdir() method to make that file into a directory. It does not work the system creates the file but then doesn't turn it into a directory when that method is called.

RESULTS
I want to create in a directory PCIError as File folder in directory:
E:/Applications/.
Thus it must look like this:
E:/Applications/PCIError.
I want PCIError to be a File folder. But instead I get the following: E:/Applications/PCIError and PCIError is not a File folder but just a simple file that is not a directory at all so I can't copy any files into directory:
E:/Applications/PCIError
Because it isn't a directory but a file.
I would appreciate any help possible. Please also remember the version in which I have to write this program it is not an option to change the JDK Version.

Pages 09 slow to open documents on iPhone 4

I've got iWork on my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2, as well as iWork 09 on Mountain Lion. I notice when I open a pages file on my iPhone, after it's been created on Mountain Lion and synced with iCloud, it is slow to load. This is after it gives a message about it looking different on iOS compared to my Mac. It then asks me if I want use "Open Copy" instead.
Is the slowness of opening the document due to some conversion? Is there a way of making the Pages documents load faster in some way and can this apply to the rest of iWork as well?

Samsung Galaxy S 2.2 Update Pages Won't Delete

My phone just updated to Froyo 2.2, and I can't get rid of the seven (! 7! 7!) pages it installed. They are an affront to my eyes, my battery life, boring, unnecessary, and taking away control of my phone. I may be overly upset about this.
I've tried clicking on "edit page", and then all seven of them come up at once, but clicking the "remove" button at the bottom does nothing. I can change the homepage, but that's it. If I'm stuck with these pages, I may cry.
Please help me figure out what I'm not doing right.

IPhoto won't delete the photos from my iphone once I have imported them and indicated to delete the photos from my phone. Am I doing something wrong?

I have imported several hundred photos from my iPhoen 5C into iPhoto library. I selected yes to delete them from my iPhone but the photos remain on the phone. Am i doing something wrong. I don't want to pay apple a fee to get this answered via their support system. This should be straight forward, shouldn't it? Thanks.

Are you asking about iCloud Photo Library (Beta) as described in: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support ?
In that case you will still see all photos on your iPhone, even after uploading the Photos to the iCloud Photo Library. The photos on your iPhone may be light-weight optimized previews, if you have the setting
Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library > Optimize [device] Storage enabled.
But as long as you have enough free storage, will the your iPhone keep the full resolution versions of the photos you access most frequently.

Why won't itunes store open on my iphone

When I try to open Itunes store on my iphone 5 with IOS7, it flashes on the screen and closes. I have tried restarting the phone. Any reason and/or solution?

I have this exact same problem!
I have a PC with windows 8 32 bit, and iTunes version 11.1.3.8.
I tried to run it as admin, did not work. I tried some winsock reset command, did not work either... I tried to repair my itunes files, did not work!
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes though, in fear of losing everything that's on it.
Please help us!

Why won't iTunes stay open on my iPhone 5 after the update

Pages: Can't open document on iPad

Dear,
Yesterday i started a big document on my iPad using pages.
After finishing it i could send PDF to an email address.
Today i try to edit something but i cant use the document anymore. i dont see an icon of my text but an icon of pages and when i try to use it i get an error messages like: "Can't open document". iPad, iPhone and iCloud cant reach the document anymore.
Any idea how to get my document back?????

How can I delete photos when importing from iPhone 4

I'm using Aperture 3.13 on Mac OS X 10.7.1. When I import photos from my iPhone 4 I am never asked to delete files from the camera roll.
What am I doing wrong? How can I have Aperture delete photos from the camera roll once they are imported?

Aperture won't delete the photos from your iPhone. Most users have settled on using Image Capture ater importing into Aperture to delete the photos from the iPhone.
