Pages won't let me create TOC, in sections no TOC option
I can't create a TOC (table of contents) inside my pages 09 documents. When I go to the sections tab all I get is blank page and text page, no toc or anything else.

I have assigned Heading 1 and Heading 2, and Title
I have watched the tutorial video and read the help section on TOC where they explain you simply go into the first tab of the inspector, go to TOC and choose which you want and if you want pages numbers. I've done this.
Then above the format bar you are supposed to simply choose Sections and from the pull down choose TOC, however I only have Blank and Text Page, no TOC or all the other options shown in the video.

I've created a fillable PDF document in XI Pro. I need to change the body of the document and create a new fillable PDF document. When I do that it won't let me create a new PDF. It keeps saying "no new fields recognized. What can I do to redo my document with the changes in the text, but no changes in the fillable fields?
You start with a source / authoring file for the "static" content (e.g., Name, Last:). Say this is an MS Word file.
You master the "static" content..
You keep this authoring file and have a backup of this file.
You output a PDF and use Acrobat to build and fine tune the "form" (form = the form fields, not the "static" content).
The authoring file and output PDF (with form fields) gives you "rev 00".
Now, you must change something in the "static" content.
Open the authoring file and save as to a new version (e.g., "wordfile_v00" becomes "wordfile_v01).
Output this to "pdffile_v01".
Use Acrobat to open the PDF form file "pdffile_v00". Save As to a new file name ("pdffile_v00update").
Using Acrobat XI Pro the click-path Tools - Pages - Replace lets you replace a page or pages of "pdffile_v00update" with a page or pages from "pdffile_v01".
This replaces the "static" PDF page content and does not affect the form fields on the page.
(you may have to adjust position of form fields)
Save "pdffile_v00update" to "pdffile_v01" to reflect the revised status of the PDF form file.

Latest version of Pages won't open documents created in previous version.
Pages won't open documents created before update.
I got the same issue, here is what it says now: "My document" can’t be opened."

What I did to get this issue:
- My file was created a month ago in Pages 5.1
- Today, I opened the file normally
- I clicked "duplicate" in order to make a back up from the current version
- The loading wheel kept running for a few minutes...Maybe my cache memory too busy?
- so, I "forced to quit" Pages
- I try to open my doc again in Pages 5.1, now it's a failure!!
- Then i tried to open on another Macbook with Pages 5.1 = Failure
- I updated Mavericks latest updates = Failure to open my doc
- Try to open in pages 4.3 = It says: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document..."
I need a fix asap, it's terribly important to get my document back -
Won't let me create a podcast or movie soundtrack! :(
When I open GarageBand, it will let me create a new music project, but WON'T let me create a new podcast episode, or new movie score.
This is what happens:
When I click either podcast or movie score, it opens a "save project" window to create a new project. Once I select a name, location, and click okay, it just goes back to the "GarageBand splash" where I can choose what type of project I want to create. The file that I have just created, did not actually get saved, either. (All iLife/Mac OS updates have been installed).
Help would be appreciated.I'm having the same problem, but none of the typical solutions worked. Trashing prefs, rebuilding permissions... I even downloaded the 3.0.2 updater directly from the Apple site and re-applied it.
I will try re-installing it... but I was hoping not to have that setback today, as this problem did not exist for me as recently as a few days ago. So I am also sure there are no odd codecs or anything hosing it up, as this is a 100% brand new OS install, clean hard drive, clean everything... and I haven't added anything (except the iWeb 1.1.1 update from Software Update) since it was working fine. (This is in the G5 dual 2.3, 1.5 g of ram - not my laptop, the specs for which are associated witt my profile on the boards)
Any other ideas? Help! and THANKS!

Garageband won't let me create a new podcast episode
I loaded Garageband tonight to start a new podcast episode and found it won't let me create a new podcast episode. After launching, I am presented with the four options of New Music Project; New Podcast Episode; New Movie Score; Open Existing Project. If I choose New Podcast Episode, I get a new choice of Saving As: and I can type in a file name, but I soon as I click on Create, it takes me back to the opening choices window. I can choose New Music Project or New Movie Score, but not New Podcast Episode. (I don't have any old episodes to Open Existing Project).
I have created a podcast episode in the past just tinkering around, but deleted those episodes a couple of weeks ago.

FCPX won't let me create a new project

Ha! You said so the first time. A'ight. Now... a series of questions to help folks in this discussion forum help YOU:
What are the full specs of your computer? (Your profile doesn't have those details.) Particulary... FCPX version, Mac type, RAM, CPU, GPU and number, types and size of HD's. (A memory problem might reveal itself if you're particularly low on RAM or you don't have enough headroom on your hard drives.)
More importantly, how are your media managed across the drives? Are your projects / events on a SEPARATE drive than your OS and the FCPX app? (This is advised to reduce strain on your CPU.)
What does the "Activity Monitor" show when you launch FCPX? (high RAM usage, etc.)
Are you trying to create a new project WITHIN the FCPX interface? (Either by: File > New Project or... mouse-clicking the "+" at the extreme lower left of the FCPX app window.)
You may have to "repair permissions" on your drives. (Easy thing to do.) Also, if you're using an external drive, is it Mac OS-journaled?
To be honest, this error has me stumped. But, if you provide this info, someone in this discussion group might be able to steer you through these waters. Just type out a quick laundry list and someone should be by to help. -
Iphoto won't let me create a new album
Iphoto won't let me create a new album, every time I press the "plus" button it just makes a little pinging sound. I may have accidentally deleted the album section and I'm not sure how to get it back.

ITunes Store won't let me create an account
I recently got an iTunes Music Card and to use it I have to have an account with iTunes Store. But it won't let me create an account. Everytime I try to make one the Windows Installer opens and tries to install Microsoft Small Business. So when I close that suddenly there is an error and iTunes has to close. So I don't get to create an account. What do I do?

I've been working on a few documents today on Pages and it won't let me save. Whenever I try "save as" it just says "The document “Untitled” could not be saved as “(the name I've given the doc)”.
I've been using my word for mac for a few months now and I'm just starting to use pages again. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall iwork?
Help me please!!I am having a similar problem with Pages, which seems to have occured this week as all was well last week. I don't even have the *save as* option on the File menu any more! Have tried using the *duplicate* option but then am unable to rename the file (or save it elsewhere).
Please check the Pages Discussions - there have been many questions and answers about this issue the last few weeks.
File > Save As was removed by the iWork 9.1 update when it's running on OS X Lion. It was replaced by File > Duplicate. The Duplicate menu creates a temporary copy of a document with the same name. However, this copy still has to be saved to a folder. If you're unable to save a duplicated document please explain what you're doing.
Also, the little black dot that used to sit inside the red dot (upper left corner of page) no longer appears when changes to document are made; does this mean that everything is auto-saved?
Well Auto Save is one of the main features of OS X Lion. So yes, documents are auto saved (the exception is untitled documents that are closed without being saved).
The dot in a window's close button has been replaced too. You can now look at the window title and see if a document has been edited. The window title will state "Document name - Edited". -

checking it, none of it is the case, well, theoretical yeah the file is in use as I want to save it (!!!)
Does anybody know if SL has an issue with the application of pages ?
I thought there would only be an issue with apple works in that respect.

1. Upgrade your system to OSX 10.6.2 using the Combo downloaded updater ( not the Software Updater version):

Imovie won't let me create an event or import videos
I am trying to create a new event with imovie and when I do I get this box that says,
"The operation could not be completed.
No other information is available about the problem."
When I try to import videos (MOV or MP$A) it doesn't do anything. I select the video, click import selected, and nothing. It just stays where its at.
I am running the Mavericks version of imovie that was updated when I installed Mavericks.
Any solutions?

Do you have MacKeeper installed? (It is known to interfere with the Share menu but I have not heard of it affecting event creation) -
Pages won't let me print, save or export documents and tells me I need to buy I-Work
I purchased Pages and it won't let me print, save or export documents. It keeps telling me I have to buy I-Work because my free trial is over.
You have to delete the iWork trial first. Then install iWork or Pages again.
You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
• Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
• Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
• Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button -
Pages won't open recently created document
I am running Yosemite 10.1 and using Pages 5.2. I created a very long handbook document a few day ago and when I try to open it I get "it cannot be opened." HELP!
You need to update Pages v5.2 to v5.5 from the OS X App Store (Updates). The latter version is required on Yosemite. Once you have done this application update, reopen your document with Pages v5.5.
