Pages won't open, how can I fix it?

I work in Lion and installed Pages from the app store about a year ago. Suddenly today when I logged in, the Pages icon in the dock had changed to a generic application icon and will not open. What is going on?

Until About the time Lion was released you could download a demo of iWork and then purchase a serial number to turn the demo into the full version or you could buy the boxed version that required no serial number. This was confusing enough. Then apple added the App store versions and eliminated the previous two purchasing methods. That has added more confusion and problems.
Do you have an iWork disk or serial number?

To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser feature in Firefox 4, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it will turn bold).
Then return to your work site and reload the page.
Does that make any difference? If so, you can leave it that way. If not, you might as well switch it back (double-click that preference again to toggle it back to true.)
If not, and you need to roll back, here's the process:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

It appears you are going to need to reinstall Pages from the original source. Somehow it has lost some vital components.

No links from external programs will open - this is usually kind of ok since I can cut and paste, but some links from databases don't provide copy-able links, meaning I cannot access information via Firefox.

When you press and hold the sleep/wake button on the side of the iPad does anything happen at all? Anything show up on the screen?
Also try the first thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Firefox won't open how can I reset or fix it if I cannot open Firefox?

Firefox worked fine yesterday, did not do any changes. Today it will not open at all. How can I reset or change anything if I cannot open the program. Please help. Also other browsers open fine. I am running window xp.

If you want to try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode, you can hold down the Shift key while double-clicking the Firefox icon. You should get a small dialog with the choices of Safe Mode and Reset. I suggest trying Safe Mode first.

i download a ring tone maker, but am tying toadd it to my phone in itunes an it doesnt work, i read that i can unnistall the newe version of itunes an install the older version, i did that but when i try to open i tunes it gives me this messgage "the file itunes library cannot be read because it was created by a newe version of itunes" how do i fix this to use the older version of itunes the 10 something is worthless.

Try following steps and test one at a time:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:

4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.
